Based on visits to all the major cymbal manufacturing companies and interviews with the world's leading drummers, journalist and drummer Hugo Pinksterboer has created a well-documented and readable book, featuring over 200 photos and a 16-page color photo section. It covers topics such as selection and testing, acoustics, ideas for set-ups, cleaning, and repair, and much, much more. Much-Loved Tome

Simply put, I love this book. It's a classic. Discovered it at the library, couldn't put it down; later, saw the Kindle edition and had to buy. Nothing else like it exists. Kindle edition ensures I don't ruin it by reading it over and over again, period.

This was a little dated, but it was still an informative read. I only wish the history section was as in depth as the section about the different companies.
