Casey Hobbes is a state park forest ranger, pretty and only interested in casual relationships. He's not interested in casual so he sets out to win Casey with romance.

Casey has a secret past that only a few people know about and a relationship with Zane poses a serious threat. He's the one person who could expose her past and break her heart.
What I enjoyed
The romance! Both were used to breezy encounters, fun but without emotional commitment. Zane astutely knew he had to approach Casey differently and I was treated to an old fashioned seduction. Make no mistake, though. He brought the heat. I also was intrigued to learn exactly what happened to her 17 years ago and the details unfolded slowly, but interestingly, throughout the story. It was always in the background and added edge.
The bottom line
I not only liked the storyline and the two main characters but also the inclusion of those from the first book in the series. Their roles were substantive, not just updates. The core group of friends, a beloved staple in Christi's books, add even more allure. If that's not enough, there's a secondary, mature romance brewing. Everything just worked.

I found myself frustrated enough that I just had to stop. It's not terrible, mind, but there was enough friction that I finally decided to stop wasting my time.
The biggest disappointment is that both main characters come across way younger than their supposed ages. This was worst with Zane who acts more mid 20s than mid 30s. He's supposedly an accomplished professor, researcher, and someone people open up to. None of that came across as more than empty words, however. Some of that is the boyishly stupid things he says (like that "no search for knowledge is wasted"—which is more a statement of faith than anything remotely supported by logic). Pretty much every conversation he has is more bravado than sense, frankly. But some of it, too, is his willingness to be goaded into really stupid things (like looking for u-boats in the finger lakes or taking on a book project when all he really wants is to settle down to teach).
This is less noticeable with Casey, but still present. She's supposed to be late 20s but comes across as more college age. Her relationship with her friends is almost adolescent and her "friendship" with the jerkwad Pierce is inexplicable except through immaturity and inexperience.
Of course, it doesn't help that the entire premise of the book is based on people being interested in a cult that disbanded violently 17 years previous. Yeah, I can see people being mildly interested in finding out suppressed details, but enough to be more than a mild inconvenience? I don't think so. Ditto the fear of her step-mother facing prosecution even if there is, indeed, no statute of limitations on custodial interference. Any prosecutor who tried to press that suit would face tremendous public outcry if he/she went for anything more than a token fine. I couldn't help feeling that this "plot" was crafted by teenagers brainstorming in a treehouse.
The only plusses of the book were the setting and a decent grasp of basic writing craft. I liked the town and rural upstate New York. You don't get a lot of that in stories, and that was mildly interesting. But, it turns out, only for about half a novel.
A note about Steamy: There were enough body-part references in that first half to tag this as steamy, but only very mildly. That said, two otherwise openly sexually active adults who are that interested in each other delaying sex for weeks and weeks was frankly kind of weird. There was nothing holding them back except for some talky-talk that made little sense. Yeah, I get delayed gratification as a spice. If so, then the first half of this novel was a cracker buried in three inches of pepper...

Woo, book 2 in the Shore Secrets Trilogy was a doozy. I loved this town and even more of what it represents so much! Talk about a found family! I liked Casey and was blown away as we found out more of her past and how that may tie in to the new sexy educator from the local college, Zane. Professor Zane was a hard sell for me. He is one of those intelligent people we’ve all met, where you wonder how they survive on the streets outside academia. All book smarts, and no common sense smarts. Sometimes I wanted to slap sense in him. But we got a HAE, even if I was cursing at Zane under my breath up to the last page.

The temporary, new professor in town is handsome, but their initial meeting is less than normal and they both push the limits of social and professional propriety, sparks flying!
Casey backs away from this endearingly and frustratingly inquisitive academic, having no plans to get too close. Who would think he would be in this tiny town, on a mission to find the one person she does not want him to find? Having spent so much of her life hiding, repelling closeness, how can Casey understand what she is feeling? How can she keep her heart and her past safe against this man who bulldozes through life, living it to the fullest? Will the special journal the town residents have kept for decades reveal her secrets or will the town close ranks to protect those they feel are their own? Can the budding relationship between Casey and Zane withstand lies by omission?
All for You by Christi Barth may be one of my favorites from her so far! Ms. Barth has taken great care with making a one-in-a-million chance meeting completely believable! After all, isn’t finding real love also a one-in-a-million event? Wonderful character development, a professor that both embodies the academic persona and the hot love interest. Casey is warm, yet guarded, almost too much so, but her reasoning is completely understandable. She is strong,, intelligent and cares about those around her, but has she also kept romance at bay through her choices?
Fast moving, with intrigue and romance, Christi Barth has kept things reasonably light while making this tale completely enjoyable.

When I first started this book I was quickly drawn into the cute banter between Zane and Casey. I couldn't help but route for them from the beginning when the first met to the very end. The attraction was there so all they needed was the romance.
When Zane shows up at her work with a picnic basket I literally swooned. He melted my heart on how sweet and thoughtful he was being. It was the perfect set up for this park ranger.
I loved that Casey had a secret past and she isn't really sure after what Zane actually does for a living if she can trust him with not only her secret but with Dawn's as well. She might be worried he can use it to help his career.
I absolutely Loved how they had a town journal and you can write whatever you wish from proposals to love letters, advice and everything in between, it was super cute.
While reading I couldn't remember if I actually did the first book in the series, but as I was reading and the journal was brought up I realized I did. This series stuck out because of the journal which was not only unique but a plus in my book.
Now I can't wait to read the next book in the series! I am dying to find out what happens between piper and wade!! I am so routing for them!

I’m a fan of Christi Barth and she writes wonderful characters (if you give them a chance). I say that because while All for You is the second book in the Shore Secrets Series, it’s the first book I’ve read. The first book, Up to Me came out on the heels of her Aisle Bound Series, which I loved. I didn’t give the characters in Up to Me a chance and I was determined to give Casey and Zane the chance I never gave Ella and Gray. Casey and Zane actually made it very easy.
Casey Hobbes seems to live a carefree life. Her love of the outdoors drove her to earn a degree in Forest Resources Management and she ultimately became a Park Ranger with the New York State Park Service. She loves her small town of Finger Lakes, her step-mother Dawn, and her three best friends. Casey likes to have a good time, but she doesn’t do committed relationships or allow others to get close to her. For Casey, she prefers to go unnoticed by people.
Zane Buchanan has a thirst for knowledge, sometimes to the extent that he becomes obsessed. He’s an expert in human behavior. He studies people and sees what others don’t see. Zane Buchanan actually happens to be Professor Zane Buchanan, famous cult expert and author of several books on the matter.
The stars align to bring these two together. Very few people know about the secret Casey and the town of Finger Lakes, NY are hiding. Upon discovering the town’s wonderful little stash of journals (written by the citizens for advice and what not), Zane discovers that a member of the Sunshine Seekers, the one cult that’s been eluding him is close. This knowledge puts the two at odds, since Casey is the lone survivor of the cult and she can’t afford to have people find out about her or her step-mother, who could face prison time for kidnapping Casey.
I loved Casey and her step-mother Dawn. But at some point, I have to say that I grew a slight dislike for Zane because he started to come off as arrogant and self-righteous. Zane believes that knowledge is power and the world has a right to know about cults and what they do to people. He doesn’t seem to care about what this exposure can do to someone’s life.
One of the themes that I find in Christi’s books is that the characters all have this amazing bond of friendship that nothing can break. I LOVE that!!! It’s one of the reasons I love her series.
There is a side romance going on in this book. I don’t know if it was in the first book, but I found it surprising and very sweet. However, I’m left wondering what happened with it. Now, I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, Back to Us.

All For You is the second book in author Christi Barth’s Shore Secrets series, a series I fell in love with in the previous book and my love continued with this next installment. Two amazing characters drawn together with a secret that could tear them apart just as they begin their relationship? Yep, I was totally hooked and loved every minute of Casey and Zane’s story.
Park ranger Casey Hobbes and new-in-town professor Zane Buchanan meet under less than ideal circumstances, thanks in part to Zane’s misadventure with diving in their local lake in colder temps than he’s used to. Luckily, Casey has seen it all before and didn’t make Zane feel worse than he already did about the whole “I’m almost a bona fide mansicle” situation. Zane knew better than to dive when it was too cold but he can’t even be angry with himself since it was this situation that introduced him to this gorgeous park ranger. The heat and attraction between them is immediate and unable to ignore. Luckily Zane would be in town for a little bit, interviewing for a position at the university, and with a little bit of luck, would get a chance to explore things with Casey.
But what seems to be a delicious match on the surface may prove to be a match that is doomed from the start. Zane’s life’s work has been studying cults and the dangers and darkness within them, specifically The Sunshine Seekers. A group of extremists with only one lone survivor left and that survivor is the person he has his sights set on. Zane had no idea that he was closer to that survivor than he ever imagined…and Casey had no idea that her secret, the one she’s kept for so many years, was the closest it’s ever been to being revealed. Were Casey and Zane destined to lose what they have just found between them?
Oh, how I love this series. There is something so wonderful with this town and all of the characters it holds. I have loved Casey since meeting her in the previous book and I was so happy she would have a chance at love. And who better than with the sexy newbie, Zane? He’s everything a gal could want. Smart, sexy, curious, and witty. Casey is also smart and witty on top of dedicated and caring. The banter they share is fantastic and beyond enjoyable. I love that between a hero and heroine. Adding to that is the smoldering heat that sparks between them almost immediately and continues to grow and at a delicious pace. Oh, my, only a few pages in and I was hot for teacher. Of course, as I read, I realized what Casey was keeping secret and that it had every potential to ruin things between them and I was so worried! It was s secret that could make Zane’s career, his life’s work, and solve a mystery that has been plaguing him for years. I just kept worrying that this whole thing would end in a crash and burn, with Casey hurt. Luckily, Christi writes some pretty amazing men and Zane was no exception. (I can’t give anything away but trust me when I say the ending was “dreamy sigh” worthy). And it’s not without a lot of emotion along the way!
Adding to their story is the continuing appearances of all of the people in the town I adore. It was like visiting with old friends!

Second in the Shore Secrets series, this story was even more compelling than the first book. Casey Hobbes--is it her real name?--has been hiding for years, terrified that the media will find her and expose her as an escapee from a cult whose members fled or were killed shortly after she was rescued by her stepmother. She's into casual hook-ups and only her three BFFs know her history, and they've promised to remain mum.
Sociology professor Zane Buchanan studies cults and has successfully revealed all but the Sunshine Seekers. He's enjoying a break from the media frenzy of a Hollywood treatment of his work at Seneca Lake and contemplating signing on for a part-time teaching position at nearby Hobart College when Casey, a park ranger, encounters him when he climbs out of too-cold Seneca Lake. He's taken with her and she with him, but when she learns what he does for a living, she knows she can't allow herself to get close. He senses she harboring secrets, but has no idea about what--until he reads the community-maintained journal and begins to put different clues together.
He's been asked to write a book that he knows will make his career. But, if Casey comes clean, what will it mean for her stepmother, who broke all manner of laws in rescuing her? The crisis, when it comes, is fraught with unexpected twists and turns. Well worth following to the satisfying end. 4.5 stars!

Casey Hobbes, is a park ranger she is only interested in casual relationships. She is beautiful and very secretive about her past. They don’t know each other’s secrets, but they do know the attraction between them. I liked this book and recommend you give it a look. Maybe the heat between the two (pun intended) at their first meeting is a little quick, but Ms. Barth has drawn three dimensional characters who have their faults, as well as a small town with all of the baggage that goes along with everyone knowing more about you than you like.

I really enjoyed this book. We may not all have the intense secret of having been a child in a cult, but I think many of us have secrets that hold us back from all the good feels. While this looks like a romance, its strength is in the story it tells about secrets. The people of this town tell many secrets in a communal diary and it gives them a feeling that there are no secrets, but it's a bit of false security. Part of the security they feel from the diary is the unwritten, but pervasive, love and respect most of them share. A big secret that isn't so secret is Casey's childhood life in a cult from which she was rescued by her stepmother. I think Casey would be more open about it, but there is a fear that her stepmother might suffer legal repercussions.
It is a bit of a tough story, but there's so much love that it is a heart warming story as well.

There are elements of this book that I really enjoyed and some points that missed the mark. I really enjoyed the potential of Zane and Casey.
I loved the town and all the characters. I loved both l Casey and Zane’s passion for their work. Her friendships are fantastic.
I felt at times that the chapter was building and then just dropped off at an integral moment. There were multiple times that Zane brings up his work and Casey gets squirrely because of her secret (based on his history he would totally question). However the chapter ends but it is never addressed.
There are many times I was starting to wonder if I was reading a closed door novel. There was intimacy building behind the scenes but it isn’t addressed. It is kind of a big part of Casey’s story to not spend more time on.

The small town, Seneca Lake, has its own sweet personality with the residents' deep history and a unique cultural tradition. The family members, friends and fellow town folk add support and color to the story of Casey Hobbs, local girl and current park ranger and Zane Buchanan, a hot, best selling author and newest professor at the local university. Attraction sparks at their first meeting and a romance without strings develops. The resulting story has charm, intrigue and a solid base of supporting charaters from the previous book. All For You was my first Christi Barth book and I will be reading Book 1 while waiting for the next book in the Shore Secrets Series.

Wow, Casey “Acacia” is living quietly as a forest ranger hiding from a past she’s trying to forget. Or thought she was when out of the frigid waters walks a shivering hunk of man that sets her quiet life on its ear. Zane is in town on the towns university request for a semester with hopes to make him a permanent staff professor. But his side gig is exposing and writing books on cults. What’s he going to do if or when he finds out his search for the Sunshine Seekers “lone survivor “ that has eluded him for years is literally under his nose. I loved this author’s writing style and wit. This book is very well written and will hold your attention from start to finish. A really good book where one person learns to step away from secrets and the other that telling the world the truth really isn't necessary. Casey is a forest ranger but is also the person known as The Lone Survivor of a cult. Her stepmother rescued her the day before the cult imploded and her father disappeared. Zane came to town to interview for a position at the local university as a lecturer, he is also a best selling author on exposing cults. He has been searching for the Sunshine Seekers for ten years and is stunned to find out the woman he loves is the person he is looking for. Add in a shared town journal everyone uses to communicate, three best friends, one ex-seal exec chef and this book is one not to be missed.

I enjoyed reading All For You. Most of the characters were fun and interesting, especially the side characters like Casey's friends. The town and nature settings were well written. I especially liked the detail of the town's notebook. The romance had a nice level of spice without being overdone. Honestly, for me, the weakest part of the book were the main characters. I found Zane rather dislikeable because of how stubborn and self righteous he is at times. It wasn't enough to ruin the book for me, but it did keep me from being fully engrossed in it. Still, if you enjoy small town romances with some mystery, you might enjoy this one.

After a year of reading mediocre and boring romances, I was glad to read All For You. Once again, Christi Barth’s writing was a refreshing surprise. While I liked the first book by her, the second book has raised my expectations for her works.
This book focuses on Casey Hobbes (forest ranger) and Zane Buchanan (author/professor). Casey is used to flirting but she has never let her heart get involved seriously. Her past left her scarred and even though she recognises that fact, she has never been tempted to risk her heart. With the arrival of Zane, everything changes. Casey is the ‘forest flirt’, and she flirts with Zane as well. To their surprise, the fireworks between them are off-the-charts. Instead of hopping into bed at the first chance, they both choose to take it slow. Maybe its more because Zane’s persuasion that they give each other a serious chance, but Casey lets herself be persuaded for the first time.
But this development doesn’t come without its own slew of complications. After her affection for Zane grows, Casey discovers that he belongs to the same group of people she has been hiding from forever. Further, Zane has a broken marriage behind him, it is bound to make him a bit wary. Still, his baggage is nothing compared to hers and while he loves making her smile, the secrets of Casey’s past might just be the end of them.
I have read romance novels with similar plots. What made this one different are the characters. Though it might take a bit of time, one still connects with them. The author pens them in a manner which provides a certain depth and it doesn’t go unnoticed. There is no childishness to suffer here. They are mature and over the course of the novel, they grow more so. Tiny amounts of banter involved at almost every other incident in the novel grants the story a lightheartedness that is refreshing. This story delves into serious issues but it never overwhelms, making it a fun read.
Casey and Zane’s relationship might have been doomed from the start, as the author clearly portrays. With Casey’s nature (due to necessity) for keeping secrets and Zane’s penchant for exploring and exposing them to the world, it is hard for them to find harmony. Both are human and both have their faults and they are equally blind to their faults as well. So where does that leave them? With both of them taking a step towards each other. It’s a romance between two people who came together because of a rarest of all chance meetings and ends with the rarest kind of happy ending.
Unlike the last time where I chose a favourite, I was happy with both the central characters this time. Zane’s honesty, his funky persona and easy sense of humour was charming, and Casey’s amusement and her reactions to almost every character in the novel was something I could connect to. I was afraid that Casey might be one of those pathetic characters who follow the two-steps-forward-one-step-back routine. It would have been justified in this situation but I would have still disliked her. But Casey never did that. If anything, she kept her fears and doubts aside because she knew and appreciated the importance of the moment and where the events were leading her. I also found Zane’s viewpoint and ability to see through the truth quite commendable.
The book has some elements of angst but once again, they are perfectly balanced with the bouts of laughter. The author has a great grasp of non-romantic relationships as well. Dawn and Casey’s relationship was sweet and full of warmth. I admired Dawn and it was only at a later stage that I realised that the story with all its bonds and web of small town connections is very intricate in its form. To pull on a single thread means creating a huge ripple effect. In this book, I actually got to see and understand what that meant.
Which reminds me, I finally came face to face with the characters involved in the romance brewing in the journal. That was a huge and adorable surprise. Now I am eagerly looking forward to what happens next.
I found the ending of All For You a bit open-ended but I think it was more because there wasn’t an epilogue than anything else. So the questions I have will be answered in the next novel, I guess. Since I am not one of the most patient people, it doesn’t sit well with me but it is something I can live with. I am eagerly looking forward to Ward’s story and Joel’s story. I loved the revelations about both of them (direct or indirect) and I can’t wait to see more of the amazing characters that Barth has created. Though it has been written from multiple points of view, this book still retains distinguishing qualities for the narrative views of different characters.
On a side note, I was happily surprised to realise how apropos the cover and the title is to the story. I felt something similar for Up To Me, but it was more apparent for All For You.
I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of All For You and I am glad I got my hands on its ARC. My anticipation was not in vain. All For You was a fun read with exactly the perfect amount of emotions, angst and laughter.

Not going to lie, this book had me a bit torn. At times I couldn't get enough and was desperate to what happened next. And at others I found it struggled to keep my focus.
Don't get me wrong, the general story was fab, and the connections with the other characters were great. I just felt at times the description or internal monologue was too long that it took away from the moment.

I started reading the book and found it hard to get into the story. My personal preference has always been books written in the first person and that made it difficult for me to continue. Despite that, the story was tender and sweet. Zane and Casey have a palpable attraction to each other even though they don't know each other's secrets and pasts.

This is book 2 in Bart's Shore Secrets Trilogy and a wonderful addition to this series. The continuation of these characters in this installment was captivating from start to finish. I loved Casey and Zane's banter and the overall storyline was smooth flowing and enticing. Well balanced and has me eager for more!

I loved the small town vibes. The close knit community and the willingness to protect each other. The found family with Ella, Piper, Casey, and Ward is so cute. I felt like that connection between Zane and Casey was a bit to insta-lovey for me, but I also appreciated the slow burn of them finally going all the way. It was a nice balance! I also really liked the cult aspect in this. I also found Pierce to be really annoying, but I also totally understood why. Overall, really enjoyable!

I really enjoyed this book. I love the characters. I really want to read what happens in some of the other characters' romances. I appreciate the sensitivity used when talking about cult victims. The conflict had me on edge for quite a while, but I'm happy with how it was resolved. I like the growth that both leads went through to understand each other.

I tried I really did but for the friends to believe that they have a right to Casey's secrets was bull. With the media how it is to expect that if she came out things would be okay isn't something that feels right.

This is part of the "Shore Secrets" romance trilogy. This one is about Casey, Zane and a cult. This is the second story in the series but can be read as a stand alone. It is an easy read with strong and likable characters. The story is entertaining and fun with some witty banter.
