Flowers are symbolic, a universally known means to relay a variety of thoughts. Humans have used them for generations to convey their feelings without the requirement of empty words.
Staring at this flower, my mind settles in a desperate place- is this flower simply a past acquaintance offering a dew drop of remembrance, or possibly a dark ominous message from an unknown sender, informing me that they know what I’ve been doing.

Della has spent her life trying to move on from the trauma of her past.
But when her dream job of owning her own flower shop brings her back to her home town, she is hopeful for a new beginning.
With a beautiful new store Della is set to bloom.
But things quickly take a dark turn.
After the death of friend, ominous messages and eerie memory lapses, Della is plunged into psychological turmoil all over again.
Is what she is seeing real?
Or is something playing a cruel trick, digging up her past in the hopes to bury her back down with it.

First of all a MASSIVE thank you Gabs for providing me with an ARC copy of your debut!

WOW. What a mind f*ck of a book. I am completely taken aback by that ending, what an incredibly crafted debut 😭

I think I’ve only ever read one other thriller in my life, maybe two? I had no idea what to expect going into this besides I knew how much I loved Gabi and how much I wanted to support her. (There is no bias to this review and is completely my own honest thoughts)

This kind of thriller is one I could totally get behind. Give me an unstable florist with sapphic connections and a plot that constantly keeps me guessing and I am GRIPPED. I was in the biggest reading slump this month and last and this has completely pulled me right out.

This book is unique, thrilling, with some really beautiful prose sprinkled throughout as well. I really loved the way it was structured the pacing was perfect. I was constantly on edge. Constantly guessing what was real and what wasn’t. I had a great time.

HIGHLY recommend for anyone who is a seasoned thriller lover or wanting to try out thrillers for the first time. You won’t regret it, this is an incredible debut

4.25⭐️ - What a brilliant debut!

The story follows Della, who is trying to escape the trauma of her past. She returns to her hometown to pursue her dream of owning a flower shop, hopeful for a fresh start. But after the death of a friend, ominous messages, and strange memory lapses, things quickly spiral and Della is thrown into a whirlwind of psychological turmoil.

The line between reality and insanity is blurred beautifully, and I was constantly questioning what was real and who I could trust. I adored the subtle clues sprinkled throughout and tried SO hard to connect the dots, but I was completely wrong. That ending had my jaw on the floor!

I loved the sapphic romantic subplot, it felt genuine and brought a touch of warmth to balance out the intensity of the plot.

This book explores some heavy topics, including mental health, childhood trauma, and addiction, but it handles them with incredible care. The writing itself is absolutely gorgeous. It’s complex and immersive, yet still easy to read.

Thank you to The Author’s Archive for the ARC! I can’t wait to see what Gabi writes next 🖤

✨️ARC REVIEW✨️

"I nurture it, feed it, grow it in the fertile soil within the darkness of my soul. It grows roots and burrows inside my being, inescapable, immovable - the utter truth"

WOW, JUST WOW! This was fantastic! I love me a psychological thriller, and this was an experience I won't forget anytime soon. I feel it's going to be one of those books that's lives absolutely rent-free in my head. 😌

The ride this took me on was wild. It was dark, deep, heartbreaking, and emotional. An on the edge of your seat, biting your nails type of journey. My jaw was hitting the floor by the end, and I physically had to slam it shut with my hand. I spent so much time trying to put the pieces together to try and predict what was going on, but I wasn't even close to being right. The plot twists were certainly plot twisting, and i was absolutely shook! 🤯

Gabi, the way you wrote Della's story and handled her mental health was so beautifully complex but yet so easy to understand and somewhat relate to. I felt like I could decipher what was real and what was not with ease... Except maybe that one part about a certain character, but I dont want to spoil anything ... I'm sure you know who im getting at - you are very tricky. 😜 Your writing is extraordinary. I was absolutely captivated by how you described thoughts, feelings, and what was happening in such a unique way. For a debut novel, you should be so proud, and I am so excited to see where your writing journey takes you. 🫶🏻 I can't wait for your January release already. That little preview at the end has left me needing more. 🤗

This book is definitely a wild ride! There’s so many moments where I was sitting at the edge of my seat not wanting to stop until I’d figured out what was going on! I loved the little hints and clues along the way and while I did feel very clever connecting some of the dots, I did not see most of the twists coming!

The flower references were also beautifully done and I really enjoyed learning about the different meanings behind some of the flowers. The tea concoctions were also a fun little addition and while I may try some, I think I’m staying away from hard tea for the moment.

Really fun psychological thriller but check out the trigger warnings before choosing to read this book.

Thank you to The Authors Archive and the author for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for my review, I really enjoyed this one and appreciate the chance to read it

Goddam I loved this book! Not only was the writing beautifully poetic, it had me enraptured. I was on the edge of my seat the whole book, trying to figuring out what was real and what was imagination. The twists and turns had me biting my nails. And the way the plot twist went!? I was shook. I wasn’t expecting it at all. Loved it! Five freaking stars, easily. Recommend this one for anyone who likes a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.

Please check trigger warnings for this one!

"my past does not define me."

Wow wow wow! What an insane read! Omg literally after every chapter I kept saying 'what is going on' 'I'm so confused' 😂😅 this was a whole mind game of what ifs, who's true and real, what is real, haha really messed with me but in a good way!
Well written thriller for sure! The mystery really had me on the edge of my seat throughout - I tried to guess the outcome and kinda guessed it right and got fooled another time 🫣

"Your history is not your weakness. To be able to heal, you need to be able to let go. You cannot move forward if you’re attached to the past.”

"Perfection is a myth, an unachievable objective"

Keen to check out more story's from Gabi in the future!

SPOILERS

I have NO WORDS !!!
For a debut novel this was incredible, I was so impressed with the writing style and the way that I could immediately recognise the switch between POVs.

The ending got me, I was feeling so empathetic towards Della that even as I read she was the one who murdered her friend it took me a minute to register that she was the bad guy.

Juliette’s betrayal had me on edge I was so shook !

Loved every second of this and I highly recommend

wow just wow, I was lucky to receive an arc of this book and it did not disappoint.

I was sucked in from the first chapter, Gabi’s writing was easy to follow and it flowed nicely keeping me hooked and wanting to know more. I really enjoyed how most of the characters in this book are females and how different they all are. I loved the meanings of the different flowers and how they all fit into different parts of this book. I really loved how she left little Easter eggs throughout the whole book (did I notice them? Absolutely not) but once you find out what happened it all slowly falls into place.

what made this book a 5 star read was the fact that every single time something was happening I would convince myself that it was one thing and then I would read further and I would be completely wrong about it all. The absolute SHOCK I had at the end of this book (because once again I was WRONG about all my theories) had my jaw on the floor.

If you love a physiological thriller, that is mostly female based characters and has so many twists and turns and speaks on serious topics (mental health, childhood trauma, addiction) then please add this to your TBR and be ready to dive straight in on August 12th!!! 🔪🩸

WOWOW I kept thinking I knew where this was going and I was constantly so wrong. It’s been AGES since a thriller really had my jaw on the floor. This was so well written and kept me on my toes from start to finish! And I genuinely felt spooked on multiple occasions. This was INCREDIBLE!

A psychological thriller with twists and turns you will honestly have yourself rereading pages trying to piece it all together!

The writing in this book was phenomenal. The ability to sensitively discuss so many tough topics (such as mental health, addiction, murder, death) within a gripping story was alone worth the read. Do yourself a favour and read this book if you’re like me and love reading between the lines and hunting little Easter eggs along the way to unravel and decipher the whodunnits and whatshappenings!! Because this one made my skin crawl and my breath catch many times!

Thank you to the author for allowing me an ARC for this book!! I’m excited for your release date.

ARC REVIEW

This book was absolutely phenomenal. The writing style was one of my favourite things about the book, it is sophisticated but easy to read, very much like the words could have been pulled out of my own head. I often find it difficult to emotionally connect with characters, but Gabi really made it feel as though I were Della. I finished the last 200 pages in one sitting as I just had to know what happened next. I knew that there would be twists and turns due to it being a thriller, but I was NOT ready for the finale.

What an absolutely beautiful debut. Gabi's writing was so easy to read, filled with beautiful flowery prose. The way she described things tickled my brain in the best way.

I've dabbled in ya thriller/mystery but this was my first adult thriller and I really loved it. I cannot wait to read more!

Gabi handled Della's mental descent absolutely brilliantly. What was actually real and what was just in her head?! It kept me guessing right up until the very last page. There was an eerie hopeful undertone in parts which contrasted absolutely brilliantly with the utter helplessness in other parts.

We have basically an all female cast of characters (except for one character) and I absolutely adored that. It was so refreshing reading a book filled with women. I simultaneously loved and hated them. I loved the different types of women relationships we got to see - both romantic and platonic. It was messy & toxic and I loved it.

What a twisty story! I didn’t know what was happening or who was responsible, and I was shocked by the conclusion, especially a couple of the twists right at the end.

Della is a fragile character to start with who spirals and becomes increasingly unreliable as the story progresses. Her relationships are called into question as she tries to decipher what is going on in her life and who is responsible for the invasion on her life and her psyche. I honestly couldn’t pick, every time I thought it was one person, I’d change my mind and think it was another. The author keeps us going with little crumbs of information and my mind was spinning trying to work out what was real and what wasn’t.

It’s difficult to say too much about this one without spoilers but I enjoyed the way each character was written, and the insight into Della’s mind, even though half the time I wasn’t sure whether to believe the information she was sharing in her POV. I liked the inclusion of the flowers, the flower shop, the messages Della sees, the homemade tea – it all added a really cool touch to an already interesting story.

I enjoyed this story and I couldn’t wait to find out what was going on so I read it in a few sittings – very easy to read and binge!

I had the privilege of being an arc reader for G.M White "Bloom"

Tw: childhood trauma, death of loved ones, mental health including paranoia and suicide, queer trauma.

I'll be honest, i started reading after prepping for a hospital appointment and I was ready to crash, while I waited in reception. Just a little side note..its hard to get past the first 5% when nurses are constantly trying to do their job. So I had to re-read it multiple times.

The further I got into the story I got a bit jumbled. Mostly cause I was stop/starting so I did lose track at various points.

With Laurie, I think she's the cop. I feel like some of the information she shared shouldn't of been shared especially in the presence of other people.

Honestly, majority of the time i read this was under me being tired either due to starting a late afternoon shift or on my home in the late hours of the night, so the story didnt soak in as much as it should've.

It's not a bad story, just went in with a bad mindset. I'd like to try another G.M White book cause the parts that I did manage to latch onto was quite interesting with the way she played with potions, poisons and flowers.

P.s sorry for the uber late arc read post.

Della finally opens her dream flower shop in her hometown, hoping for a fresh start. But after a friend’s death and a string of eerie messages, she begins to question what’s real, and whether her past is determined to drag her under again.

Going in, I knew I was in for a solid thriller, but I still found myself rooting for Della to get her happily ever after with her beautiful little shop!

Gabi has done such a brilliant job of crafting a complex, layered character in Della. I really felt for her throughout the book, watching her slowly unravel was heartbreaking, and had me side-eying everyone in her life. From her bold and slightly mysterious best friend Aster, to sweet little Callie, and even the ex-girlfriend Juliet who’s suddenly back on the scene! Absolutely everyone is a suspect, including Della herself.

I was desperate to uncover the secret Della had buried deep, all while trying to untangle what exactly was happening to her. And even then, I still didn’t see the twist coming!

Huge thank you to Gabi for letting me read this incredible thriller early. I knew from the moment I stumbled across it that it would be right up my alley, and it absolutely was.

I went into Bloom expecting a gripping psychological thriller- and it delivered that and more 😍 From the very beginning, there was this creeping sense of unease that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. The writing was beautifully atmospheric, laced with just enough tension to keep me flipping pages late into the night.

But what really got me… was that twist 🤯

I thought I had things figured out. I was building theories, watching for clues, feeling like I had a handle on where it was all going nd then White completely flipped the script. I actually had to stop and sit with it for a minute because it changed everything I thought I knew. It wasn’t just shocking - it was smart. One of those twists that makes you want to go back and reread everything with fresh eyes 👀

What I also loved was how the story stayed grounded in emotion. Even with the mystery and suspense, the characters felt raw and real, and that made the twist hit even harder.

If you enjoy thrillers that mess with your head in the best possible way, Bloom is one you shouldn’t miss.

Thank you to G.M. White and her team for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Della has returned to her hometown with her best friend, Aster, to open a flower shop. She spends her days arranging blooms with Callie—sunshine in human form—who always has a fresh cup of tea ready.

One night, after a long day at the shop, Della runs into her old girlfriend, Juliet, and their romance rekindles. But that same night, everything starts to unravel. The shop is broken into and vandalised with a chilling message that hints at Della’s dark past.

Soon, Della begins receiving threatening notes. Worse—some are in her own handwriting. She starts losing large amounts of time and questioning her own mind.

This psychological thriller had me doubting every character, including Della herself. The way G.M. White builds the psychosis and genuine suspicion is incredible. I didn’t see the twists coming at all.

A phenomenal, twisty read that kept me hooked from start to finish.

Not gonna lie, the prologue GOT ME! I was intrigueddddd … and what a wild ride it was 👀

This book was amazing… so dark, emotional, and intense! ❤️‍🔥 Della’s mental health struggles were handled with so much perfection while adding depth to the chaos.

And when I say chaos, I mean it. I found myself questioning my own sanity while reading this… what I thought it was, wasn’t 🫣
… when I thought I had it all figured out? Noup! You don’t! … Think again!

I loved the Dual POVs (the Culprit’s POV hitting just right, so unsettling … it was delicious) 🫢

Oh Della… poor thing, right?? 👀
I was with you every painful step of the way, I was so side-eyeing everyone!! But x character .. was SUS, like .. come on! I was stressed!

The whole time I was ✨confused✨ … and I LOVED it. My brain was in overdrive trying to piece together theories, so many possibilities!
And the final straw?? Didn’t see that coming!

P.S. My 🧠 is Exhausted and I couldn’t be happier about it!! 🥹

A chilling thriller that had me guessing and second guessing through the entire read! I was constantly on the edge of my seat, and staying up way too late in order to figure out what was really going on!
Mental health played a huge part in this book as we follow Della back to her home town after a decade of running from her past. Following the deaths of her mother and childhood friend, Della Wright returns to her home town to open up a flower shop and start anew. But before her grand opening, the shop is trashed, and a threat is spray painted over the companies name and the spiral begins.
After reconnecting with a scorned love, Della believes she can handle the things happening around her, until more death and delusion begin and she begins to question what’s real and what’s not up until the very end.

Four stars from my shelf to yours!

🥀 ARC Review 🥀

It’s been a long time since I’ve finished a book and had to just… sit. I thought I was crazy. I don’t read thrillers often but this one had me by chapter 2 just completely along for the ride.
I had all of my own little guesses and accusations throughout and I have never annotated a book so much feeling like I was putting a puzzle together only to get to the last ~5 chapters and throw that whole puzzle board at the wall.

The last line before the epilogue?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!?!?!
The people involved???! WHAT THE FUCK?!?

I am absolutely gobsmacked. I’m blindsided.
I hate when you can guess the ending of a thriller and I’m such a vibe reader that it’s worse if I can guess it because I’m never looking for it, but there was no way I would’ve seen this.

Absolute masterpiece. Read this immediately.

A thriller with sapphic romance and closed-door spice. I enjoyed this one. The cover-art is ADORABLE in the most feminine-spooky way. Della has a whole world of trauma to deal with, unpack and re-pack. She loses someone close to her at a young age and put it in the deepest depths of her mind, but someone out there remembers and will do anything to make Della pay for it. My brain was spinning hopping from MC to MC with the "whudunnit" moments. I pegged the "villain" but constantly questioned myself over it. EVERYONE IS A SUSPECT, or rather was, at some point to me. Sometimes the story "jumps", but honestly, it's really fitting for what Della is being put through. Definitely has some toxic friend behavior in this one and I'm pretty sure Della takes the award for being an unreliable narrator.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — Twisty, emotional, and impossible to put down!

The suspense and sense of the unknown in Bloom by Gabi White kept me hooked from start to finish. I never guessed who it was — every time I thought I had it figured out, the story flipped everything on its head and had me questioning everyone all over again.

Gabi White does a brilliant job bringing these characters to life. Della’s unraveling broke my heart, and the way everyone around her felt like a suspect — even her — made the tension even better. The final twist was so good it made me want to go back and reread the whole book with fresh eyes.

If you love smart thrillers packed with raw emotion and unexpected turns, definitely give Bloom a chance. You won’t be disappointed!

I really enjoyed this book, I would actually rate it 4.5 stars. The story follows Della who just opened a plant nursery, she runs into an ex from her past and they have a rekindled romance, while at the same time some weird occurances start happening, (plant nursery gets vandalized, friend from the past passes away, and starts having weird visions of things that aren't real (or are they). We also learn of something she is hiding that happened in her past.
This was a psychological thriller that I just needed to know what was happening. There is a cast of side characters that at any point throughout you don't know who to trust/believe. I also appreciated the queer romance aspect of it.
I really enjoyed this book and happy to have received an ARC review of it

ARC REVIEW: BLOOM

Oh hello, Bloom! A queer, twisty, millennial mind-mess I didn’t know I needed. At first, I was like “Yay houseplants!” and “Yay lesbians!” and then suddenly I’m side-eyeing Della wondering what she actually did (and why she’s acting like her oat milk has expired).

By chapter five, I was already suspicious. Quarter-way in, I’m like: Is this chick okay? Is this anxiety or is this trauma? Or is this the tea she’s sipping on??

Halfway through, I genuinely thought Della was spiraling into a full on psychological breakdown à la Girl, Interrupted. I was clutching my (metaphorical) pearls by chapter 26 thinking, yep… she’s gone full ‘Gone Girl’.

But by 85% Kindle…plot twist. I had absolutely no idea what was real, what was delulu, or who I could trust. It’s like being gaslit by a ficus 🌱

And that’s the beauty of it: Bloom keeps you guessing. Just when you’re sure you’ve nailed it, G. M. White is like, “lol no.” Then you’re right again. Then wrong. Then doubting your own mind.

Recommend if you love:
• Plant girls gone rogue
• Psychological suspense that keeps you spinning
• Queer chaos, millennial sass, and a whole lotta tea (literally)

Bloom is wild. Weird. Witty. And a little bit wonderful.

🌿 Thank you so much to G. M. White for the ARC of Bloom!
It was a wild ride of tea, trust issues, and tangled thoughts, and I loved every second of it.

Thank you, G.M.White, for letting me read Bloom as an ARC Read.

Something about this cover caught my eye while scrolling on Instagram, and I'm so glad it did...

Bloom is a thriller/ mystery that won't disappoint you.

What starts as just a normal day to day story of Della opening up her own florist Shop turns into a wow what is happening story.

Bloom will have you feeling so many emotions from aww thats sweet shes meet her old girlfriend to wtf just happened? why did that happen? then the end ... so good. yes, I did think some of the things, but it still got me good.
