The delightfully comic account of a British couple and their imported cats starting over in a new country continues in Bucket to Greece Volume 17. Nikos is at his wits end when a vandal targets him with insulting graffiti, desecrating his fields with mounds of rubbish. Romance is in the air when Vasos asks Sherry, and Victor, on a date, and Christos has a lot of grovelling to do when Violet Burke flounces off the job.
Taking a trip down memory lane, Victor revels in the joys of grubby kitchens when Pelham, a former colleague, visits. Doreen tackles the Greek moped test to earn her diploma, Hal buys his great-niece an adorable old donkey, and Sherry rescues an abandoned hoglet. If you’re a fan of Greek travel and culture then the Bucket to Greece series is a must, with a bucketful of laughs along the way.
Another light, entertaining read. Can't wait for the next!
I'm addicted to this series. I'd barely begun the latest volume-and the laughs had already started!
Victor and Marigold are now hosting paying guests in their apartments.... but there's plenty more going on besides with all the regular locals of Meli.
Has all the usual laughs and smiles. Plenty of chuckles with all the goings-on in the village. This series is always entertaining, and always leaves you wanting more.
Another welcome addition to the series. I read this as soon as it was released, and I'm so disappointed I didn't save it a bit longer-because I need the next book NOW, and will have to wait goodness knows how long!
I confess to being a huge fan of the Bucket to Greece series. I was so happy to be back again in Meli to find out what has been happening in the village. Was Violet still giving her clients ' a good bottoming'? I admit I do have a soft spot for Violet. There are laughs a plenty as we catch up with the various villagers. There's never a dull moment in Meli, never think it's a quiet life off the beaten track in Greece. Always a bit of a drama to disturb the peace. Victor's rental apartments are finally completed and ready to welcome his first paying guests. I love the way that Victor, Marigold and Violet have integrated into the village and are very much part of village life. I enjoy the chapter headings giving the reader a little clue as to the content -E.G Bit of an Exhibitionist. I'm still giggling at that. I'm already looking forward to the next in the series to keep up with more merriment from Meli.
Thanks for yet another excellent read. I do hope there will be many more, the trouble is I can't put your books down once I start reading! I have this picture in my mind of the village of Meli, the characters and animals. Although I get annoyed with Marigold when she manipulates Victor! I hope Victor finds his notes or his computer so you have more stories for your next book and I look forward to reading another Bucket To Greece in the near future.
I've read every volume and I think this one was the best. Love reading about the everyday lives of the people in the village and Victor's. It looks like little Ana has him wrapped around her little finger. Can't wait for another book. I hope theirs one in the making.
Fabulous as always, I love these books and have read all 17 episode's. They are realistically written and find them hilarious in parts. I have just finished 17 and am already waiting for number 18 .Absolutely brilliant Victor 👏
Another great read from Victor Bucket, full of funny moments and mixed with intrigue. Hope it won't be too long before volume 18 appears on the horizon. Just what I needed to lift my spirits whilst nursing a broken wrist.
Fun and easy reading, just what the doctor ordered for an entertaining day off. If you need an escape from the news of the world and want a smile on your face just read one of these books.
I always look forward to the next installment in this series and #17 does not disappoint! These books are always humorous and totally entertaining! Best read in order.
a delightful read as always and really enjoyed it. As always very well written and with great humor as well. Typical of Mr Bucket and look forward to the next read
Alas, this Bucket to Greece #17 was over all too soon. It was every bit as hilarious as the others and of course I couldn’t put it down. If you want to learn about Greece or if you are in need of a chuckle, dive into this delightful diversion where colorful Greek characters will hold you spellbound and will prove once again that in a rural Greek village anything can and probably will happen. Remember, laughter is good for your health. A fantastic series that will be read and reread.
