Big Obsession: Single Dads of Big Wood

Rate this book
She’s my son’s favorite person.
The curvy, sunshine teacher who never walked away—
even when his mama did.

I should be grateful.
Hell, I am.
But gratitude doesn’t explain why I look forward to seeing her more than anyone else.
Why I notice every blush, every smile, every soft curve.
Why I want her in ways I have no right to.

Because she’s my ex’s best friend.
Because if I screw this up, my son loses the only constant woman in his life.

But she’s here.
In my house.
At my kitchen table.
Laughing with my kid like she belongs here—because deep down, she does.

One kiss and I know I’m already in too deep.
I’ve never been the settling-down type.
But for her? For them?
I’d risk it all.

Single Dads of Big Wood

These four single dads thought they were done with love. But love… isn’t done with them.

They’ve been burned—by divorce, betrayal, heartbreak—and now their lives revolve around playdates, carpools, and bedtime stories. Love? Not happening. Not again.

When unexpected women storm into their carefully controlled worlds—bringing sass, chaos, and the kind of heat they thought they’d locked away for good—these devoted fathers face a new kind of falling for the one person they shouldn’t.

Big Obsession is part of the multi-authored Single Dads of Big Wood series. This is a short and steamy, OTT, friends-to-lovers, curvy girl gets her cowboy Single dad romance. Tucker is a bull rider who also owns a ranch. He is a hunky single dad to 9-year-old Ace. Dolly is a sweet and curvy teacher who was best friends with Tucker's ex. She has made it a point to be there for them after she walked out. Ace loves her more than anything. Both Tucker and Dolly have feelings for each other but have kept it secret for many reasons, but throw in an adorable matchmaking 9-year-old and you have a sweet story. I loved this one so much and am sad the series is over.

Best Of The Best

This was the best of the best. I actually enjoyed reading this book. Tucker was a single dad and had his eyes on Dolly and she had her eyes on him too. It had everything you want in a book especially the happy ending. It deserves more than five stars and I would highly recommend this book

Sad to be leaving Big Wood! Tucker is the last of the poker playing single dads to find love. He has been raising his son Ace since Ace’s mom took off. Dolly is the best friend of Tuckers ex , she has become a huge part of Tucker and Ace’s life. In fact, Dolly spends a lot of time with the two of them . She has always had feelings for them but because of her past friendship she’s afraid to move forward until now!

I loved this multi-author series. Tucker was raising his son Ace as a single father, though they always had Dolly very much in their lives. Between Dolly and Tucker there were feelings, but also things that could complicate their relationship. This story will captivate you with the plot that you’ll enjoy reading from beginning to end.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Tucker and Dolly have known one another for nine years. Dolly was once best friends with Karla the mother of Tucker's son Ace. When Karla, Ace's mother didn't want to make time for him Dolly told her she couldn't be her friend and suggested she not be in Ace's life. Tucker's son Ace loves to play baseball, and Dolly goes to his every game and practice. When Dolly arrives Tucker was worried about her but it's the last day of school for the summer and she needed to load up her car. Tucker tries to find out from Dolly if she's seeing someone. Dolly doesn't understand what Tucker is getting at when he asks her if she's seeing someone. When Dolly finds out that Tucker wants to hire someone to take Ace to his practices she tells him she'll do it. Tucker lets Dolly know he doesn't want to tie up her summer with taking Ace back and forth to practice and games. Tucker tells Dolly he doesn't think it's a good idea, she doesn't think he wants her to spend the time with him. Tucker tells Dolly that's not what he meant, he doesn't trust himself around her. When Ace is finished with practice Tucker tells him that Dolly will be taking him to his practices. Ace asks if they can all go out for pizza but Dolly is meeting up with a few of her friends. When they are walking off the field a woman comes over to Tucker and wants to know if their son's can have a playdate so that they can talk. Tucker pulls Dolly next to him and asks her what she thinks. While Dolly is out with her friends Tucker sends her a message asking her to call him when she gets home. Tucker just wants to know how Dolly's dinner with her friends was and what she had to eat. Tucker makes Dolly understand he's trying to hit on her and she didn't even realize it. Dolly tells Tucker that no one would believe they are together, and he asks her why not. Dolly tells Tucker he's the number one bull rider in the state, and one of Big Wood most eligible bachelors. Tucker tells her that he knows this may seem sudden but he's wanted to let her know how he feels for a while now. Tucker tells her she's important to his son Ace, Dolly tells him she doesn't want to do anything to jeopardize her relationships with Ace. Dolly tells him that she has Ace's schedule for practice and games, Tucker asks her if she'll come and watch him. When Dolly arrives Tucker has one of his crew take Ace up to her in the crowd when the man stands and flirts with her he gets upset. When the man comes back to Tucker he asks him what he thought he was doing, the man apologized for flirting with his woman, he didn't realize she was taken until Ace told him. When the chute opens, Tucker rides his bull concentrating on his ride. When Tucker jumps off he waves to the crowd, and Dolly lets out her breath. Before Tucker comes to met up with Dolly and Ace, Ace tells Dolly that his dad really likes her. Dolly makes sure that Ace understand that her and his dad aren't dating. Dolly congratulations Tucker when he finds them, then he laces their fingers together. Dolly asks Tucker if they can have a talk later, but he wants to know about what. Dolly tells Tucker that it's something they should talk about in private. Tucker tells Dolly he'll bring home dinner, and she tells him she'll take Ace to his house. Dolly wants to know if he's sure and Tucker tells her that he wants her in his house hopefully in his bed soon. Dolly takes Ace to practice while Tucker has one more ride he needs to take care of. Tucker is participating in a barrel race, something him and his horse haven't done in a while. The race is running late, and Tucker is the last rider. The first two barrels are a piece of cake, when Tucker goes around the third he loses control and everything goes black. When Tucker wakes up he has several people over him, he asks about his horse. Tucker's team assures him his horse is being looked at. When the doctor comes over to examine Tucker he's told he needs to go to the hospital but he doesn't want to. Tucker can't ride anymore unless he goes to the hospital and is check out. So Tucker calls Dolly to let her know what's going on, she wants to pull Ace from his practice. Tucker tells Dolly to let Ace practice he's fine it's just a precaution. Tucker lets Dolly know he won't be able to pick up dinner and she tells him she not worried about it. Dolly tells Tucker she'll stop by her place and pick up an overnight back so that she can stay with Ace. It's early morning when Tucker finally gets home, one of the single dads brings him. Dolly is told that Tucker has a few bruised ribs, and a concussion so he needs to be woken up every hour and he can't drive until he's been rechecked. Dolly tells Tucker she's going to stay with him so that she can watch over him. Dolly tells Tucker she'll help him shower, but he doesn't want her to do that. When Tucker tries to take off his clothes he can't, so Dolly tells him he needs her help. Dolly tells Tucker that she wants to help him shower, get something to eat, and rest. Tucker gives in and lets Dolly help him, he promises her he won't barrel race again. After Tucker gets in his shower Dolly watches him and then tells him she shouldn't stare at him but can't help it. Dolly tells Tucker she'll stand by the door but if he needs help to let her know. Tucker and Dolly walk into his bedroom and she asks him where his pj's are but he tells her he doesn't have any he doesn't wear them. Dolly asks him where his underwear is and he tells her in the drawer she grabs a pair and helps him into them. Dolly tells him she'll warm his food, but Tucker tells her he's going with her. They first go into Ace's room to check on him, then head downstairs. Dolly warms up his lasagna, and tells Tucker that she and Ace were worried about him. When they head back to the bedroom Dolly insists on sleeping in the chair but Tucker tells her to sleep in his bed, he won't do anything. Tucker sets his alarm so that they can both wake up together. Dolly asks him about what he can and can't do until he sees his doctor in two weeks. Dolly tells Tucker that she'll be driving him and Ace around, when he tells her he'll pay her she tells him he won't. Tucker tells Dolly to come close he wants to hold her while she's in his bed. When Tucker wakes up he can hear Ace and Dolly talking. Tucker tries to get his breakfast but Dolly already has pancakes made, so they all head to the table to eat. They all talk about Ace's practice later that day and how he loves his team. Tucker tells Ace about his accident, and why he had no business doing the barrel race. Dolly goes to take a shower while Tucker and Ace clean up. Ace asks Tucker if he likes Dolly and he tells him he does. When Tucker finds Dolly he tells her they need to talk, but she tells him they need to get to practice. When they get to the field Tucker takes her chair and she tells him she can carry it, Dolly tells him she's more than capable of caring her own chair. Dolly notices something is wrong with Tucker so she asks him. Tucker tells her that he made a mistake last night and now everyone has to help him out. Dolly tells him he's bing foolish, she loves to hang out with him and Ace. Dolly tells him that she loves to take care of her just as much as Tucker loves to take care of her. Tucker takes her hand after they are sitting down and Dolly tells him they need to talk about this. Dolly doesn't want to confuse Ace, she thinks Tucker is doing this because he doesn't want the woman hitting on him. Tucker tells her he doesn't want her dating anyone else, because she's his. Dolly thinks Tucker only wants to sleep with her, and she doesn't want to lose Ace, he's like a son to her. Dolly asks him if when he's done with her if she'll still be able to see Ace, Tucker tells her he'll never be done with her. Tucker tells her he wants to date her, but Dolly tells him she can't. Tucker wants to know why Dolly never told him she didn't want him, when they are interrupted. When Ace's practice is over he comes and asks if they can go to the smokehouse, Dolly tells Tucker she could eat. When they arrive Ace asks to play some games with his friends, Dolly tells Tucker they didn't finish their conversation. Tucker tells her she doesn't want to be with him he understands. Dolly tells him he needs to listen to her, she thinks if they do this they need to keep it between them for now, she doesn't want Ace hurt if it doesn't work out. Tucker tells her he hasn't kissed her and Dolly thinks it's not going to work out. Dolly tells Tucker she doesn't have a lot of experience with this and he tells her he wants her. Dolly tells Tucker she just needs some time. Tucker tells her he'll give her a few days to get use to them. Tucker asks Dolly if she can stay with him for a while and she tells him she would. Dolly and Ace go riding while Tucker stands at the fence and watches them. They both tuck Ace into bed and he tells Dolly that he loves her she tells him she loves him. When they get back downstairs Tucker starts to pleasures Dolly but she tells him she doesn't want to get caught. Tucker takes Dolly is his bedroom where he pleasures her. When Dolly wants to do more, Tucker tells him. not until she's ready. Dolly tells him she's ready but Tucker tells her she's not not until she doesn't want to hide them. Dolly tells Tucker he doesn't understand she's just a school teacher, while he's a state winning bull rider. Tucker tells her she's beautiful, and he's never letting her go. They go downstairs Tucker grabs some ice cream while they sit on the front porch. Two days later, Dolly's had time to think about them being together. While sitting at Ace's baseball game, she grabs Tucker's hand. Tucker asks her what this means Dolly tells him it means she wants to be with him and doesn't want to hide it. Then Dolly kisses Tucker, and tells him she loves him. Tucker tells Dolly he loves her, after the game he grabs their chairs and they're walking to her car. Tucker tells Dolly he's sorry, he forgot to tell her. Ace's mom Karla's parents are picking him up to have him for a sleepover. When Ace comes over he asks if they're going out for dinner. Dolly is greeted by Karla's parents, they asks her if she's talked to Karla. Karla's parents tell Dolly they haven't heard from her in a while. Dolly leaves to grab Ace's overnight bag from her trunk, then hugs Ace and tells him she'll see him tomorrow. Ace asks if they can go out for pizza after he gets home and then asks Dolly and she tells him she'll be there. Dolly asks Tucker if he's ready to go to his house, he asks her if she'll stay the night. Tucker tells her he just wants to be with her there's no pressure. While lying in bed, Dolly takes off Tucker's pants and pleasures him. Tucker removes her clothes then pleasures Dolly, then they make love. Dolly asks Tucker how he's feeling because of his concussion, but he tells her he's fine. Dolly wakes to hear loud pounding and Tucker tells her to stay in bed. When Dolly hears Karla downstairs screaming at Tucker she knows she needs to get dressed. Dolly can hear Karla telling Tucker that it's what she had planned all along, to get her to leave so that she could have her family. Dolly tells Tucker she'll leave and let him talk to Karla but he tells her not to go, then Karla goes off on Dolly. Dolly stand her ground telling Karla that she wanted nothing to do with Ace so she thought it best she leave him so he doesn't get so upset when she doesn't show up for his things. Dolly tells Tucker he needs to work things out with her, when she leave out the door he's right behind her. Tucker stops Dolly when she gets in her car, and tells her not to go, but Karla is there screaming at them. When Dolly sees Ace coming with his grandparents she tells Tucker not to get Ace upset she should go. Dolly leaves and lets Tucker handle Ace's mother. Tucker tells Karla not to upset Ace, when he gets out of his grandparents car he runs up to Tucker and asks where Dolly is going he thought they were having pizza together. Tucker tells Ace she had to go home for a bit. Tucker asks Ace to go to his room so that he can talk to his mother. Tucker makes Karla understand that he doesn't want her, and she signed her rights over for Ace to him. Tucker asks Karla if she wants to spend some time with Ace and she tells him no she needs to go. After Karla leaves Tucker calls Ace downstairs and tells him to get ready they're going over to Dolly's. When Dolly hears a loud knock on her door she finds Tucker and Ace standing with a frozen pizza. Dolly asked if Tucker drove over and he did, she tells him he should have called her. Ace tells Dolly they wanted to surprise her with pizza but nothing is open so they bought a frozen one. Hot Cowboy, his son & a Curvy Teacher who loves them.

A delicious albeit somewhat predictable novella set in the small town of Big Wood, Author Hope Ford's single-father-possessive-alpha-cowboy is a character who readers will love and obsess over as much as Dolly, his best friend and son's teacher does 👀

It's an absolute friends-to-lovers story and at the centre is Tucker's 9-year-old son who was getting all up in his Dad's business ‘cos he thought it was about time the three of them became a family. It was easy to see why neither Tucker nor Dolly made the first move, because they both prioritised Ace first, and that's as it should be, and it's what I loved about both of them the most. They were scared that if that line was crossed, and it didn't work out, then Dolly could disappear from their lives.

Neither of them wanted that.

But once Ace put the idea in Tucker's head that Dolly had a date, he couldn't help that possessive streak coming to the fore in the most growly ‘hands-off-she's-mine’ way possible *romantic sigh* He wanted her badly, and to think someone else might be there drove him to make that move. He thought he was being transparent, but she was blind to her own attractiveness and confused by his behaviour, resulting in some laugh out loud discussions that gave me so much pleasure to read.

Curvy, dependable Dolly never thought for a moment that she would become the object of Tucker’s obsession, and recipient of his filthy wish-list upon her person!! I loved it!!! Even with Ace trying to pin her thoughts about his dad she was aiming to play it cool and I enjoyed the scene where she finally acknowledges the way he looked at her;

“He’s looking at me with a huge smile on his face. As he draws near, I can feel my heart start to race. Tucker Yates is the most handsome man I’ve ever laid eyes on, and when he looks at me the way he is right now, my heart skips a beat.”

Now is that a romantic quote, or is that a romantic quote! There's more and where the rubber hit the road, it's Dolly who was already there for Ace before Tucker even needed her to be, when he realised that. she would permanently be in their lives, she just needed to realise that;

“I’ve fallen hard for this girl, and I know it for sure now. There’s no turning back: One way or another, Dolly is going to be mine.”

Of course best laid plans and all that, Tucker has got a bit of work in front of him and that is where Ms Hope's writing excels itself in all things growly and alpha-romantic. His friends have already worked out their relationship kinks in the road, so the best in support is available and their stories are the three pre-ceding this one in the multi-author ‘Single Dads of Big Wood’ series. Hot dads, quick-satisfying novellas, multi-author talent. What more could a reader want????

4.5-growly-obsessive-cowboy-Stars for this one! 🖤💙✦

Tucker Yates has a ten-year-old son Ace who is energetic, enthusiastic, happy, and well-adjusted despite not having a mom. Why is that you ask partly because his father surrounded himself with a great group of other single dads struggling to get by but so willing to help one another through the hard times. But most of all it was Dolly, Ace’s mother’s ex-best friend. She has been there to nurture, love, and support both Ace and Tucker. She shows up for all of Ace's sporting events, school events, and birthdays.

It was at a baseball practice, that Dolly was running late showing for which was unlike her. So when she arrived Tucker jumped and went to her. When he carried her chair he set it up he hovered over her and fired off questions about why she was late. Then comes the real burning question the one he has to know, if she is still dating a guy named Trevor? She asked, “Who?”
“Trevor. A few weeks ago when you dropped off Ace at poker night, he said you had a date with a guy named Trevor.” “So… Trevor?”

She shakes her head. “I think you got it wrong. Trevor is the class fish. I had to go and feed him.” He searched her eyes, and she was telling the truth. He always wants to include her when they do things. By God, his nine-year-old was trying to be a matchmaker. Tucker Yates is a bull rider and he is doing a charity event and they are short a barrel rider and he volunteers. I mean it is for charity. However, he doesn't stop and think about how it takes a different skill and mindset not just for the rider but for the horse, too.

Dolly can care for Ace while his friends get him to the hospital. Then home to Dolly and Ace. When Dolly nursed him back to health. Short and sweet with a blast from the past. This is s story about a plus-size girl unsure of herself a good cowboy who needs a real woman who will love his son and him.

This is part of a multi-author collaboration about four single dads that have been burned by women and love. They think they are done with love and raise their children. That is until the right women "storms" into their lives wrecking them and their control. I love all four of these stories! Each one features one of the single dads and the lady that completes them. "Big Temptation" by Eve London starts off the stories followed by Big Risks" by Kaci Rose, "Big Trouble' by Kat Baxter and then "Big Obsession". Each of the "Single Dads of Big Wood" stories can be read as stand alone stories but they are more fun read in order, as each man falls. I did not read them in order but I love how this one brings it all home. This is a fairly short and quick read about Tucker and Dolly. Tucker, a rodeo star and rancher, is single father to young Ace. Dolly was best friend's with Ace's mother. After Ace's mother abandon him and left Big Wood, she made it her mission to be in Ace's life. This meant she was also in Tucker's. She has been in love with Tucker for a longtime but does not show any interest, partly out of guilt. The other reason is that he is the state's most eligible bachelor and does not think she has a chance with him. Tucker makes his move once he realizes what she means to him and to Ace. This is such a good story with some very entertaining bits, witty banter, cuteness, sweetness and a touch of drama and angst. I especially love the Ace as he pushes them together.

Big Obsession (Book 2 of the Single Dads of Big Wood Series) By Hope Ford

Tucker isn’t the type to get attached. A single dad doing his best to raise his son after his ex walked out, he keeps things simple—safe. But Dolly, his son’s bright, curvy, ever-patient teacher, doesn’t make it easy. She’s always there. Smiling. Supporting. Showing up in all the ways that matter.

She’s also his ex’s best friend.

Which makes the way he watches her completely inappropriate. The way he aches for her—dangerous. And when Dolly ends up at his house, sitting across from him at the kitchen table, laughing with his son like she’s already part of their family, he knows he’s in trouble.

Because one kiss confirms what he’s been denying all along: he doesn’t want to let her go.

Dolly’s sunshine spirit and fierce heart make her impossible to resist, and Tucker’s no longer sure he wants to. But risking their connection means putting everything on the line—including the most important relationship of all: the one with his son.

Big Obsession is a heartfelt small-town romance with all the feels—single dad vulnerability, forbidden attraction, and a heroine with a heart big enough for both father and son. If you love protective men, sweet heat, and emotional stakes, Tucker and Dolly’s story will hit you right in the heart.

Big Obsession is everything I love in a small-town, single dad romance—sweet, sincere, and full of those quiet moments that stick with you long after the last page.

Tucker and Dolly’s story had me hooked from the very first chapter. He’s the rugged, no-nonsense single dad doing his best, and she’s the sunshine-filled teacher who’s been there for his son when life got messy. The fact that Dolly is also his ex’s best friend adds the perfect touch of tension to an otherwise soft and heart-melting journey.

What makes this book stand out is its sincerity. Tucker isn’t your typical emotionally distant hero—he’s deeply aware of the stakes and genuinely wants what’s best for his son. But he’s also falling hard for the one woman who’s been a constant in both their lives. And Dolly? She’s warm, relatable, and impossible not to root for. Their chemistry is undeniable, but it’s the family moments—laughing at the kitchen table, quiet support, shared care for a little boy—that make this love story unforgettable.

If you're looking for a short, sweet read with big heart, Big Obsession delivers. It’s about love, trust, and taking a chance on the people who feel like home.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tropes: Single Dad, Curvy Heroine, Sunshine & Grump, Best Friend’s Ex, Found Family
Steam Level: Warm and swoony with just the right touch of spice
Verdict: A perfect cozy read that leaves you smiling.

He was off-limits. She was all in. Now they’re risking everything to become something real

Tucker is a bull rider, a single father, and a man who doesn’t let people close. Dolly has been the steady presence in his son Ace’s life for years, quietly caring, always helping, never asking for anything in return. But when gratitude turns into something deeper, Tucker realizes she’s not just part of their life, she is their life.

A hard fall in the arena shatters the distance they’ve kept. For Tucker, it means facing how much he could lose. For Dolly, it means questioning whether she’s enough to stay. What starts with cautious care becomes late-night confessions, lingering touches, and the kind of heat that makes it impossible to go back.

Then Karla returns, the woman who left Tucker and Ace behind. Her arrival threatens everything. Dolly walks away to protect the boy she loves. But Tucker knows exactly who his family is and how far he’s willing to go to keep them together.

Tucker grows from a guarded man doing his best to a father and partner unafraid to fight for love. Dolly learns to stop shrinking herself and finally steps into the space that was always hers. Together, they go from quiet survival to something unshakable, with Ace at the center of it all, loved, safe, and home. ‍‍

A steamy, single dad, friends to lovers, small town romance, exploring trust, second chances, found family, healing, self-worth, and the kind of love that holds on. For good.

Tucker is a bull ride and he adores his son Ace and is a very devoted father. The mother and him tried, but it did not work out. She is not reliable and her actions hurt their son. Who is very reliable and always there for Ace is Dolly, she used to be the best friend of his mother and became more of a mother to him than the birth mother. She does not only adore Ace, but also has deep feelings for his father, but thinks she is out of his league and never expects anything to happen between the two of them. Tucker also developed feelings for Dolly and over the years it becomes harder for him to hold back. Most of all Dolly is afraid it will not last and hurt Ace and their relationship. Tucker knows how obsessed and serious his feelings are for Dolly and finally is rather blunt about them. I love the dynamic, the characters and story line. I liked this multi author series and this story has the special Hope Ford magic. The alpha Tucker is not afraid to voice his feelings and always is there for his son and Dolly is such a sweetheart. Ace always also makes clear who he wants to be his mum, melted my heart.

Tucker takes his son, Ace, to his baseball game and meets Dolly. Dolly is Ace’s mother’s bestie. Dolly attends everything she can that Ace does. Since it was the last day of school, she had bus duty so she was late and Tucker was worried. Ace adores Dolly, as does Tucker. I found the argument that Tucker had with Dolly to be sweet and hilarious as he tells her that she should call him if she needs anything. She is very independent. Karla is Ace’s mom. However, she is not a nice person and I dislike her immensely and what she does in the book. I was livid. I felt really bad for Tucker, Dolly & Ace. Ace is hilarious with things that he comes up with. I found myself laughing a lot with his antics. Tucker is a bull rider and a really good one at that. There are fun, funny, sweet, romantic, crazy stuff that happens in this book. But, there is also steamy stuff as well, once Tucker and Dolly admit that they are attracted to each other. I also laughed a lot when Jace, Brody & Walker razz Tucker. I loved watching Dolly come into her own in the book and realized that Tucker and Ace were important to her, more than she thought. I can’t wait to see what happens if there are more Big Wood books.

4.5 stars!

This is part of a multi author series called Single Dads of Big Wood and features Tucker, a rancher, rodeo star and single dad to a nine year old and Dolly, an elementary school teacher and former best friend to the mother who signed away her parental rights.

I think the best way to spell TUCKER is H-O-T ‘cause that man is something else! Sweet and unashamedly possessive, Tucker was the book boyfriend most readers dream of—he was definitely the man Dolly had been dreaming of for years but was afraid that he, as someone who could have anyone he wanted, could never want a simple school teacher like herself. Besides, she loved his son and didn’t want to risk losing that relationship in case anything between them didn’t work out. Too bad she didn’t take into account how persistent Tucker could be when he really wanted something!

I loved this book! I loved TUCKER!!! Loving dad, actively engaged in his son’s interests but still knew what he wanted and didn’t give up until he made her his—what’s not to love? I absolutely recommend this one 100% to any reader, any time, anywhere. It’s that good. 4.5 stars!

Sometimes two who are supposed to be together think they aren’t so fate has to step, and we all know things go the way fate wants you to put this one down until the last page has been turned. Tucker sexy as all get out rodeo star, rancher, single father who loves his son Ace after his mother walked away, he keeps things simple, safe after dealing with an ex. who walked out, and he really has eyes for one woman but never crossed the line because he never wants to lose her as his friend. Dolly is sweet, a teacher, curvy, she was best friends with Ace mother she feels guilty because she walked away from her little man, but over the years she has fallen in love with Ace’s dad but she doesn’t think he would see her like that especially with him being state’s most eligible bachelor and she is just a curvy school teacher. The magnetic pull is there but they ignore it until an idea is put into Tucker’s head and he knows he has to make his move but will she past him being her best friend’s ex., will she believe he is actually interested in her, will Ace finally get his wish, will his ex. come back in their lives, and is this their time for happiness?

Yes Hope rounding out the series in instalove glory!

The final book of the Single Dad's of Big Wood follows Tucker bull rider and dad to Ace, and Dolly local school teacher, Ace's mother figure and long term object of Tuckers affection.

Dolly was best friends with Ace's mum, so she's always been off limits to Tucker. However after years of fighting his feelings, he starts to shoot his shot and see if Dolly is receptive to his advances. The night their due to talk though, Tucker finds himself in hospital following a rodeo accident and things go a little off track as questions about the validity of feelings are asked.
Can they get over the potential road blocks and become a family or will the past turn up on the doorstep and try to wedge them apart.

What to expect
💜 Long term crushes
💜 Off limits romance
💜 Friends to lovers
💜 Single Dad romance
💜 Steamy scenes
💜 Character POV
💜 Mild angst
💜 Small Town Romance
💜 Interconnected Standalone
💜 HEAs

This has been a great series, and this book was another good addition to it! Tucker is a single dad with full custody of his son as well as a bull rider and ranch owner. Dolly was his ex’s/sons moms best friend and loved his son Ace like her own. They’re connection made it a bit messy, but Dolly was an absolute sweetheart that stepped up for both Tucker and Ace and I can see why it wouldn’t be hard to fall in love with her. Tucker seemed like a great dad and a very honourable man and once again I loved how Ace had a big role in the book as well. I do wish they both fought a little bit harder for each other during the drama at the end, but I also understand why they had to do it that way and to then do it privately. No cheating or OM drama, OW drama at the end that was cleared up quickly, not sure if the FMC was a virgin or not, single dad, dual POV, HEA and an epilogue in the future. Love seeing all these amazing single dads not only find love, but positive maternal influences for their kids!

After a one night stand made him a dad. He stepped up to be a single father to his son, when the mother decided parenting wasn’t for her. She was once a a friend to his son‘s mom, but has been their rock for the last nine years. She shows up for both of them unapologetically. For a long time now he has seen her as more than just a friend, and he is getting tired of pretending otherwise. He’s ready to go all in and claim their girl, bring her home to the ranch where she belongs. Well she has Harvard a secret crush on him for years. She didn’t think she was enough for a man like him. But when he looks at her and makes her tummy tingle she can’t keep away. This is a sweet story of friends to lovers. People who have built a family without realizing it and when they do, the sparks fly. They are steamy and spicy. Well written characters, so you instantly become invested in. Well, it is a short story. It doesn’t feel like you missed out on anything.

Tucker is a bullrider and single dad to Ace. Dolly is the former best friend of Ace's mom and a big part of Ace's life. While Ace's bio mom is not around on a consistant basis, Dolly is a huge part of his life. She hates that her now former best friend chooses not to be in Ace's life. Tucker has it bad for Dolly but feels he is too old and beat up to be a good match for her. Dolly has been crushing on Tucker for years and loves him and his son. After Tucker gets hurt barrel racing at a charity rodeo event Dolly has to take care of him and Ace. After struggling through some misunderstanding Tucker and Dolly admit feelings for each other. Just as things look good for a promising future, Ace's mom and grandparents show up and things get crazy for a bit. This was a classic Hope Ford story. Dolly and Tucker were both fighting their own insecurities and have to step out of their comfort zones for a chance at a life together.

Big Obsession is the very best friends to lovers book! I can say with full honesty that the friends to lovers trope is my least favourite trope, but Big Obsession much different. Yes, Tucker and Dolly are friends, but their friendship is different, Dolly’s best friend was a one night stand with Tucker that produces a sweet boy Ace. But Karla, the birth mom, isn’t really a mom or the staying around kind of woman. Dolly loves Ace, and she loves Tucker, but she will never admit to the latter. Tucker is way out of her league, a hot, champion bull rider, and Dolly, well, Dolly is a simple school teacher, curvy, and no hot man wants a curly woman. But when Tucker is injured, Dolly, of course steps up to help take care of Ace, and in turn, Tucker. That is when the truth comes out, and sparks fly. But when the birth mom returns, all of their plans may be destroyed. I loved Big Obsession! Sweet, and spicy!! Hope Ford always writes the best cowboys!!!

Tucker is a top pro-bull rider; so when he is watching his son,Ace, at baseball practice and some married moms show an interest in him--he is not comfortable. Dolly is Ace's mom best friend. Karla was a one-night stand 10 years ago,but Karla wasn't interested in marriage. Dolly doesn't feel that she is good enough for Tucker. Karla has a habit of putting Dolly down. But Dolly was always there for Ace and Tucker. Now Ace saw his mom maybe once-a-year if he was lucky. Ace had played his dad when he told his dad that Dolly was seeing Trevor, but nothing about Trevor being the class fish. Is Ace playing matchmaker? What happens to Tucker at a charity event with bull riding? Who will watch over him? what does Karla want when she shows up at Tucker's? Will Dolly finally feel good enough to think about being good enough for Tucker?.

Big Obsession is so awesome! With all the feels, secret crushes, and adorable little boy, and so much more, this is a fantastic feel good novella. Dolly is so sweet and self-sacrificing, making all her choices for the good of her best friend’s son. Tucker is stunning as the brooding alpha hero who has carried a torch for Dolly for years. I love how blunt he is with her, and it’s so interesting to watch her twist his words to fit her personal narrative. But, he never gives up, and he patiently waits for her to get her head on straight, and I adore that about him. I love all four books in this series equally—four of my favorite authors—and will read this one (and the others) over again. The chemistry, sizzle, and steam are electric!

Big Obsession by Hope Ford, releasing June 12th!

❤️ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲
✔️ Cowboy
✔️ Curvy Teacher
✔️ Single Dad
✔️ Age Gap
✔️ Ex’s Best Friend
✔️ Small Town Romance

This book had all my favorite tropes! Dolly has always had a soft spot for bull rider Tucker and has played a loving, motherly role in his son Ace’s life. She never dared to cross that line—partly because of her low self-esteem, but mostly because she didn’t want to risk the bond they’d all built. But Tucker? He’s all in. He sees Dolly for exactly who she is and knows he wants more with her.

There’s a little added drama with Dolly being ex-best friends with Ace’s mom, but it’s not overdone. This was short, spicy, and the perfect palette cleanser. Just what I needed!

Tucker and Dolly, they really beat all around their feelings for each other. Insecurity was probably the big draw back for Dolly. Tucker was adorable in relentless explanations. He made me laugh, he was really laying it all out there. Ace was a really good wingman for his dad. It took a while for these two to just get to the inevitable. This book was another great addition to this Single Dads of Big Wood. Each of the men featured in the books so far have had adorable love stories. I love their group chat, those guys are hilarious. Don’t miss out on this great book or the fantastic series. I can’t wait for the next one.

Hope Ford joins the multi-author Single Dads of Big Wood series with the steamy single dad romance, Big Obsession. Tucker and Dolly have been friends for years - and both have had feelings for the other for longer than they can remember. But she's his ex's best friend, and he's a hunky bull rider she feels is out of her elementary schoolteacher's league. But Tuck is finding it more and more difficult to keep his possessive feelings at bay, and when an injury brings Dolly into his bed, his is determined not to let her go. Throw in the adorable Ace, and this is a swoony single dad romance you won't want to miss.
