So I do what I do best—flip the script and steal the spotlight. A fake fiancée?
Sure.
But not just anyone. Veronica Logan is all bite, zero bullshit, and the only woman in L.A. immune to my charm. She’s got secrets.
A mouth that doesn’t quit.
And legs I haven’t stopped thinking about since the first time she told me to go to hell. But when she signs that contract and moves into my penthouse with her smart-mouthed niece in tow?
I know I’m already in too deep. The cameras think it’s a fairytale.
She thinks it’s temporary.
But I’m Cedrick Thorne. And what I want?
I keep.
Even if I have to turn this fake Hollywood romance…
into the real damn thing.
Read on A deliciously tense fake marriage romance where the lines between pretending and passion blur with every stolen glance. Packed with sizzling chemistry, slow-burn chaos, and the kind of emotional payoff that’ll leave you grinning like a fool. HEA guaranteed—because when Miss Tyla fakes it, she always makes it real.
Veronica Logan is the type of woman who doesn’t just walk into a room—she dares it to challenge her. So when Hollywood power player Cedrick Thorne finds himself cornered by scandal and proposes a fake engagement to save his empire, she’s the last person anyone would expect to play along. But the money’s right, her niece Lily needs stability, and Veronica is nothing if not a woman who handles business.
What starts as a paper contract quickly turns into a tug-of-war of wills, wits, and white-hot attraction. Cedrick is infuriatingly cocky but protective and swoon-worthy in the way only Tyla Walker heroes can be. Veronica? She's fire and ice, all bite with a soft core she guards like a state secret. Their banter is spicy, snarky, and full of charged undercurrents—you’ll find yourself grinning every time she checks his ego and he loves her more for it.
There’s a real sweetness woven into the heat too—especially with Cedrick's growing bond with Lily. I’m not gonna lie, I think he fell for that little girl before he fully admitted his feelings for her aunt. (That scene in the kitchen? Yeah, I felt that.)
The plot dips into suspense with the addition of a dangerously unhinged ex, which added drama but left me with some loose ends I wish had been tied up more clearly. Still, the emotional payoff and character development kept me hooked. It’s not my favorite Walker novel, but it’s definitely a solid, engaging read with tension, tenderness, and just enough chaos to make the resolution worth it.
If you like your fake dating messy, your billionaires emotionally vulnerable, and your heroines entirely unimpressed by wealth and charm? This one’s for you.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️½ Review by The Bourbon Sipping Bibliophile
My Rating System: 1⭐️: The book didn’t hold my interest and/or had significant issues that overshadowed any redeeming qualities for me, but generally not my cup of tea. Most likely did not finish the book. 2⭐️: The book didn’t quite resonate with me, and while my experience wasn’t remarkable, I did finish it. It had some redeeming qualities and potential but fell short in execution. Recommendable, though with some reservations. 3⭐️: Good read, but didn’t quite stand out. Still worth recommending to others. 4⭐️: Really enjoyed it and stayed engaged throughout. Would read the book again. Definitely recommendable. 5⭐️: Incredible writing that made me deeply connect with the characters. I was completely absorbed in the world and didn’t want it to end. This book stayed with me even when I wasn’t reading it. I'd gladly reread it and highly recommend it to everyone!.

Veronica and Cedrick's story was funny to read. He purposely messes with her just to get her fired up. It's funny to see her fall for it every time. Cedrick's hero, take charge vibes made me swoon. He's the kind of guy you definitely need in your corner. I liked Veronica's personality. She has this "I'm the boss, take no prisoners, I won't bow down to you" attitude. Yet secretly she loves Cedrick pushing her buttons. Their banter back and forth was hilarious, and it continued to fuel the chemistry between them. I like that connection they built, especially Cedrick's attachment to sweet Lily. I think he fell in love with her first. Double swoon!! I laughed throughout, but there's some drama brewing as well with a crazy ex. I wonder what happened to her. That's the one thing I didn't get a resolution on. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
Text Me When You Miss Me, by Tyla Walker is a unstable fake engagement turned disastrously real romance story. Bad publicity has Cedrick is fighting to save his company from ruin. Veronica is petitioning the courts to grant her permanent guardianship of her orphaned niece and needs steady income for living expenses. Cedrick and Veronica's fake engagement is supposed to be mutually beneficial but due to treacherous secrets ana an unhinged, psycho-ex girlfriend, it may turn into a deadly nightmare. This book reminded me that some folks will do anything, lie, steal, or even kill to get their way, and when a person shows you their true colors, believe them.

Cedrick finds himself in a scandal that has the potential to destroy him and to get around it he comes up with the perfect solution that will turn the tides a fake marriage, but he needs the perfect woman. When he comes across Veronica, he knows that she is the one, but Veronica is not a woman to be toyed with nor does she suffer fools. When he offers her up the proposal that is a win/win she accepts but when things become too real will her heart be compromised in the process. This story had me all caught up in their drama.

A great storyline with characters that keep you glued to your book from the beginning. The way Veronica and Cedrick come together was well written. What started as a solution to get safely out of a scandal that can destroy everything for him and himself grows into something more. This is a book that I definitely recommend to read.
