Wow, Brent Towns Brings Us A Bang-up Story With Outback Fury!
After a failed mission, Kane has escaped to Warra, a nondescript town in the Australia outback. And he finds himself trying to survive in a complex situation: very few friends in a town that has a crazed killer on the loose; he's being hunted by a dangerous criminal gang; and you almost find yourself feeling the dry heat of the wilderness surrounding this town.
This is one action-packed story that has you on the edge of your seat continually wondering what's going to happen in the next chapter. And, boy, it's really worth reading!
Kane is in Australia on an undercover mission when everything goes wrong and he is forced into witness protection. Unfortunately that doesn't work out either and he escapes and land in a small town called Warra in the outbacks. But he was followed and now the mob sent a bunch of mercenaries to end him and wipe out the whole town. The only help is an old army friend living there. Explosive action and never a dull moment in another very entertaining novel in the Fear the Reaper series. Keep them coming!
I’ve read a lot of author Towns’ books, which he churns out at a fast rate. Unfortunately, the quality of the writing is declining and the Kane character is now unsympathetic. It seems even Towns is tired of him. With a strong editor, this book could be half as long and much improved.
The Reaper hardly appears in this book when he does, he’s indecisive and unorganized. The medic seems to do all the planning. This is not the John Kane we’re familiar with who always was the one to take charge when his team was in danger. Not recommended.
I’ve run every single book Brett Townes has written and this is nothing like any of them. This was either written by AI or he farmed it out to have somebody else write it and just slapped his name on it because it was horrible. This wasn’t John King that we all know in love it was just a horribly written book.
I really like john Reaper books but I really would like to know what is is going on I have read his books where he had a ranch and was married with a child and now he is single again ! I like when he is single the best!
First book of Australia I’ve read. The male characters were pretty good. Cass, however, was a bleating idiot and never should have made it through. IRL she wouldn’t have.
Not.tje usual Kane novel, he doesn't make an appearance until about a qtr of the way through and even then, there is still a strong focus on Marsh, Cassie and the others No Knocker(real pity) and none of the other usual suspects either
