Keepers of the Sword Channel

Rate this book
A vanished relic. A warparty on a perilous mission. A young warrior with awakening Powers.

Jalinda has trained her whole life to defend her people, but nothing prepares her for the day the ancient Sword Channel—the source of her people's strength—disappears. Her encounter with a powerful creature leaves her with a rare ability: she can detect the Sword Channel’s presence across vast distances, making her the only person capable of tracking the Channel.

Her warparty sets out across hostile lands, where every step reveals deeper secrets, older loyalties, and dangers no training could anticipate. As Jalinda learns to wield her new Powers, she discovers that recovering the Sword Channel may require more than skill—it may demand choices that will shape the future of her people.

To succeed, she must use her intelligence, discipline, and emerging abilities to outwit an enemy who can sense her Power. One mistake could cost her life—and doom the companions sworn to stand beside her.

A sweeping epic of warriors, soul‑bound blade magic, and a heroine who refuses to break. Perfect for readers of Sanderson, Hobb, Gwynne, and military fantasy quests with deep worldbuilding.

The story in this book is fantastic from the very first page.

ÑRight from the beginning, I was amazed by the detailed way the protagonist and all the other characters are presented, as well as how vividly the author describes the settings. The storytelling is so immersive that you truly feel as if you are living inside the story, and it becomes impossible to stop reading.

What I loved most about the book is that it blends action and mystery so well, allowing you to follow the protagonist on a journey through new worlds, powerful creatures, and great challenges.

I do not want to spoil the ending, but it definitely leaves you wanting to know more and more about the story and this incredible world filled with fascinating creatures and characters.

If you are someone who enjoys fantasy and action books, this one is definitely for you.

Really, really good story and plot!!

Great fantasy book. It has been incredible to read such a nice book. It’s the kind of book that will keep you engaged, and you can get involved very easily.

The author brings you into a story full of trust and tradition, all depending on an 18-year-old girl, how there is a sword that gives powers, her transformation, and also her commitment to the people she protects. The mystery of the stolen sword is fascinating. It is incredible the connection she has with the object and how the author’s writing style keeps you so close to what is going on.

You will get to know Jalinda pretty deeply and suffer with her throughout the story. It is a book for free time, to simply entertain yourself with a great story.

This book creates a fantasy world that is of mystery and purpose. It introduces a story where power, responsibility, and destiny are really connected. From the beginning, you feel that the sword and the channel have an interesting and strong meaning that goes beyond magic or adventure.
What I liked is how the story reveals the world and the role the characters have in protecting it. The idea of being a keeper has a special and strong sense of duty, which makes the journey feel important and meaningful. While reading, I felt curious about how the world works and what role each character will play in the future of the saga. I cant wait to read the next book.

What caught my attention right away was the strong female character. I really liked her, she is the kind of lead I want to follow; a very determined and strong woman. She’s trying to adjust and understand this new world around her. The book has a very good pace that complements well with the introduction of the new world itself, the creatures and all the supernatural.

I was very into this storyline, the fast pace and simple vocabulary made this read fly by.
Overall, I think it is a great first book and I’m eager to see what the author has in store for the next one!

Difficult but worthwhile read

Initial reading was very difficult for me, mostly due to the lengthy character introductions, and especially the character's names. Once I was able to get past this problem by concentrating on just the first names, the characters became more interesting and the plot became relavent.
The characters and plot were able to hold my attention and was memorable.

Thank you Goodreads for my copy of Keepers of the Sword Channel, unfortunately it just wasn't for me. I do love a good fantasy book but I just couldn't get into this one, it ended up taking me a week to finish it when normally a book this size (256 pages) should have taken just a few hours to read. Honestly, I should have stopped reading when the 14 year olds were having sex.

The storyline and world-building started slowly, but once it picked up it was an interesting read. I appreciated getting the perspectives of others besides the main character(s).
