The Choices I’ve Made is a small town, second chance romance set in Ocracoke, North Carolina. Jake Jamison and Molly McIntyre, childhood sweethearts, are reunited after twelve years when Jake returns home to Ocracoke for his father’s funeral. This is a slow burn story filled with swoon. Author J.L. Berg has created a wonderful setting. I want to visit this fictional town on Ocracoke Island. I loved the By the Bay Inn that Molly runs. A cozy atmosphere with delicious food and family style meals? Sign me up, please! I became invested in the plot and found myself rooting for many of the characters. Main characters and side characters alike add depth to this novel. Berg weaves their storylines and experiences together in such a way that readers will feel as though they themselves are there. I’m so happy that this is book one of a six book series! This is the first book I’ve read by J.L. Berg and not only am I looking forward to future By the Bay books, I am interested in checking out her backlist.
This is the first @authorjlberg book that I have read, and it gave me all the feels. Luckily, I don't have to wait for book 2, The Scars I Bare, because it is also available now.
