Not a terrible book. The author has a good voice but there were just too many problems for me, along with some personal dislikes. The couple only spoke to each other long enough to be considered a conversation about 3 times in the entire book. There was no growth of the romance or any depth to the relationship at all. When she and her mother show up at his home they get rained in and are forced to spend the night, but his mistress managed to show up and then leave in the same rainstorm. Also, the fact he has a sex worker come into the home he's living in with his mother is so tacky. With that it would still probably be a 2 1/2 star book.

The issues that really bothered me is that she did all the chasing in the book. I'm talking about ALL OF IT until the last scene. She went after him and was rejected over and over and over again. Probably more than a dozen times. That's just a pet peeve of mine. Plus the reason he rejects her is stupid. He literally says he won't go to bed with her to protect her but is known as the biggest rake in town, so he doesn't seem that interested in protecting people. But what is really is forcing the 1 star rating is that in one of the only scenes where they leave the house, they go to the opera to see his mistress perform. While HIS MISTRESSS IS SINGING they start to mess around. In a box at the opera. Where people can see and hear them. It gave me the ick so bad I almost stopped reading at this point. It's gross to almost have sex while the women your husband slept with a few weeks-a month ago is in the room singing! Like what the actual fuck?

Plus, the fact that the heroine is a never been kissed virgin at the beginning of this and has a list of sexual things she wants to do just doesn't make any sense. Some editing could have greatly improved this. But it was just too long and repetitive, with 1 step forward 2 steps back over and over again. This one lost its way. The ending was shallow and unsatisfying. There are a lot better books out there. I think I would try this author again because her writing style is nice to read, but she needs to work on plot and character issues.

Very intriguing story that I enjoyed reading to the end.

Lady Scarlet will do anything to avoid an arranged marriage. When she is told a gent has been chosen for her, she goes so far to avoid the unwanted match by stating she has been ruined and by none other than the Duke of Wolverton...the tons Wolf

As much as this little fib has gotten her out of one situation, it inevitably gets her into another

Hudson, the Duke of Wolverton is very displeased to be forced into wedding Scarlet on the false pretense of compromising her. He demands she tell the truth - but in the end one thing leads to another and they end up marrying

These two are very much drawn to one another, there is a lot of passion and feeling for one another. They are both very strong characters with great personalities.
Hudson has a lot of issues from his past, these emotiona

A Virgin for the Ton’s Wolf (Ton’s Wolves Book 4)

A young lady’s family was determined that she must marry, and she was determined that she wouldn’t marry, but would remain a blue stocking. To get out of marrying the man her family picked out for her, she lied to her family saying she had already kissed by another man. Her mother insisted to know who had kissed her. She lied and said it was a Duke. Her mother dragged her to his home and demanded that he marry her. From there, the Duke and she were forced to marry, but with many compromises by each, mainly that it would be a marriage that would not be consummated. There were many trials and tribulations between the two.
It was quite enjoyable to read, but for the in depth feelings that the two had for each other, it made the reader unsure if the marriage would ever work out.

A Pairing/A Fib/A Love Like No Other!

A brother’s slippery friend in a hand of marriage & Lady Scarlet thinks of a “Kiss” to dismiss it promptly. But the fib gets her in quite a bit more trouble with the “Wolf”& that in turn leads to a real kiss & much more trouble until she looks for a husband. But the husband is haunted by his past & thinks he can never be free. But something sinister is aloof to steal his wife away before he realizes just how much he adores her & has to bring her home.

I'm really not a big fan of rakes & the fact that he kept bringing up past women was pretty gross.

There were lot of humorous moments in this book that did help it to be more entertaining.

There was a point in the book where she says he keeps playing tug-of-war on her emotions & I would strongly agree with that description of how he behaved towards her. Though when things were good between them it was really enjoyable to read.

The concept of the list & the fact that it was supposed to be before marriage, did bother me, especially for the time period.

I really loved seeing the couple from the previous book in the series, happy & in love & getting to again see their loyal friendships!

When Lady Scarlett tells her mother a lie that she is ruined to avoid an arranged marriage, she had no idea how her life was going to change. Especially when her mother asked who ruined her and Scarlett said she was kissed by Hudson Barrow, the Duke of Wolverton. Interesting characters with issues from their past that hold them both back. Unfortunately for me the detailed sex scenes took away from the story for me.

Captivating story and characters

Really loved both the heroine and hero in this book. Both have strong personalities and interests outside the ton. Characters from the previous 3 books in this set of the Ton’s Wolves interact through out the story. You don’t have to have read the other books - this is a stand alone story. It just makes the adventure more engaging if you read them in order.

Hudson and Scarlett

Wonderful book and characters from the first page to the last. Hudson had demons he needed to conquer from his past and hard for him to let go and fall in love. Scarlett on the other hand was willing to give her all to her husband, even when he kept trying to push her away one minute but then wanting all of her. They break through the barriers and fine their true live for each other and get their HEA. Highly recommend this author ! Happy reading🙂

Getting out of Engagement

Scarlet it's brother chooses Lord Co!ton to marry her. She tells a lie and says Duke Hudson kissed her. This book keeps you going from front to back. I had to read it all at once. Emotions rise high and keeps you interested. Great climax at the end. Another great one from Sally Vixen

I loved this story and its premise. I loved the clever idea of the main character. Excellent plot and character development. I loved the integration of other characters from the other books.

BUT this just had way too much graphic content, which did nothing for the story except add unnecessary words.

This is an unusual book where a lie is the beginning of most of the action. A past incident in the Duke’s life makes it very difficult for him to let himself go and love the way he should. Definitely a book one should read!

Intriguing story with a little lie to begin a fiery romance. It may help to read the other books in this series to understand some of the secondary characters.

Absolutely love it! Highly recommended

Well, as much as I've hated waiting for the next book to come out, this one was definitely worth the wait.

What an amazing way to end the series. Hudson is a cuddly teddy bear no matter how much he likes to pretend otherwise. Scarlet is definitely the best match for him in every way that matters.
