Getting out of jail was supposed to be my fresh start.
Instead, I’m broke, jobless, and the only people willing to help me are my old roommates—Liam and Jack. You know, the ones whose apartment I accidentally turned into a crime scene. Not my best moment. But hey, bygones.
Now they run Boys On Film, a successful—let’s call it hands-on—media company, and they’ve got a job for me. Not behind the camera. In front of it.
Turns out, when you’re hot and desperate, the pay is really good. My first time on film? Let’s just say it’s a learning experience—and not the sexy kind.
Then I meet Nico Steele. Quick-witted, sex on a stick, and way too talented at making me blush. He’s cocky, infuriating, and enjoys pushing my buttons just to see me squirm.
I tell myself it’s just a job. That I can ignore his stupidly perfect smirk, his relentless teasing, and the way he really knows how to work a crowd. But the more time we spend together—on set and off—the more I realize Nico might be more than just my co-star.
He might be my second chance.
If only I can convince him to stick around.
The Casting Couch is the second book in the Boys On Film series, featuring all the characters you know and love—Nessa, Moira, Dimitri, Lola, and more—along with a brand-new romance full of heat, humor, and heart.
Ian writes LGBTQ fiction, mainly romance. Growing up, he could never find many books portraying guys like him, so now he's helping to fill the shelves with gay-friendly tales. He tends to write more romance, because he loves nothing more than a happily ever after.
It's back to the casting couch, for some of the characters, it's the first time for others and readers, be warned, this is hot, sexy, erotic stuff!
SPOILER : Don't read on if you've not read book 1 yet...
When Bradley was imprisoned for drug dealing Liam and Jack began their venture into porn, they, along with some of the best characters I think I have ever met, formed Boys on Film and now they are a huge success. It's two years later, Bradley is released, on parole, he needs a job and when a figure from his past turns up he realises he really needs some money. All he really wants to do is finally find himself, make something of himself and put his past behind him. He's surprised when Liam and Jack tentatively welcome him, Dimitri too. Things are a little tense but an opportunity to get some money is just that, even if he has never done porn and is, quite honestly, quite inexperienced.
Nico is only doing porn so that he can continue to try and make it as a stand-up comedian, it's a means to an end and yes, it does make him plenty of money but honestly he really doesn't love it, would just like to be able to get a break and get into the comedy scene. I love the scenes we are treated to when he is on stage, they really are truly hilarious and I am sure some of his porn-related material hits close to the truth too. On the surface Nico is happy and chilled but apart from trying to get into his ideal career he is also lonely. His mother threw him out at 17 for being gay and now calls a couple of times a year for money. But as soon as Nico meets Bradley something clicks into place. It may be fast but it is honest, there is a spark there and one that although appearing fast is going to slowly unfold as the story continues.
There is grit, some gentle angst, I say gentle as it is not about the pair fighting, cheating or anything of that sort, it is about the threats others pose. That also makes it a true page-turner, an addictive read. The love is cute and passionate, the friendships are real, rebuilt and new. The porn scenes are hilarious and as for Nessa, Moira and Lola, well they are as outrageous as ever!
I opened it and didn't stop until I'd finished, it is a brilliant read, please read book 1 first to get a true feel for all the characters, I guarantee you'll be hooked too!
'At some point, I lost track of time. The burning gave way to a weird, icy numbness. Like, my entire lower half had disassociated from the experience out of sheer survival instinct.'
I loved this book. It was interesting and I was hooked from the very start and right through to the end. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Bradley and Nico. Their chemistry was scorching. I loved all the supporting characters just as much. They all had big personalities and were quirky and fun. I felt kind of bad for Bradley. He'd done something stupid and desperate and it cost him two years in jail. Now that he was out and unable to find work, living in a dirty hostel in a room with four other people, and his former drug handler/dealer(?) already coming to collect on what he owes, he accepts a job to star in adult films run by his old friends and roommates from before he'd been arrested. I could really feel how uncomfortable and awkward/shy he was, but with so few options he had to push through. When Lola got her hands on him- I winced, laughed, and cried all at the same time!
This was such a fun- and at times hilarious- romance! I wish I could listen to it in audio! 5 stars

Liam's and Jack's Boys On Film Media & Mgmt is going strong and is successful. One of their stars, Nico, is equally successful. He's been doing it for a few years, and is aspiring to be a stand-up comedian.
A recently paroled Bradley is struggling to survive in his release. But, life won't cut him a break. Out of options and desperation, he contacts his former roommate Jack. Thus begins Bradley's journey on an adult film actor career. Because of mad chemistry, he's assigned Nico as his scene partner. But, Bradley has reservations about being naked on-screen and having sex in front of a camera. Spoiler alert: Bradley gets over it.
This book is seriously funny and doesn't pull any punches with its descriptive imagery. The steam is high and the characters are either sweet or majorly snarky and "vicious". Like Book 1, this book is very enjoyable, entertaining, and satisfying. I eagerly recommend it.
Presentation, matters! Bars aren't the only things that make a prison. Bradly spent 872 days in a physical prison. When he got out, he has to face what a life of limited choices really is. This is a hands on your heart read. We get to experience the depths of despair, pride, fear, desperation, shame and true friendship. Some hysterical funny parts. Nico, works in porn, but his passion is in comedy. When he meets Bradley, he realizes there are other possibilities. Amazing group of found family and surprising treacherous family. Excellent story, nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second book of The Boys on Film series which I think needs to be read in order, Bradley is out of jail and looking for a fresh start but he needs a job and his old roommates Liam and Jack offer him one with good money only thing is he’ll be in front of a camera, my first experience is a learning curve but then Nico appears and the chemistry and connection is electric but I try to make myself believe it’s just a job but truthfully he’s my future if he gives me a chance.
I love Ian's books as i know I am going to get a hot, steamy read with plenty of humour! This was no exception and great to be back on the Casting couch with these fantastic characters.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was cute and funny. The main characters feel like they don't deserve happiness and that people don't really see them. When they meet, they know that they can something special together. I really enjoyed this book.
I had to dnf because it appears to me this author thinks women who are confident, in managerial positons and speak their mind are quick to beat men. Very weird behaviour.
