Brilliant! Dr. Yarborough demonstrates a gentleness with the stories of Sojourner Truth, Nannie Helen Burroughs, and Fannie Lou Hamer as Black women should be treated. Each of these figures lived and proclaimed boldly in spaces they were often not invited to. Dr. Yarborough creates an affirming space for Black women readers to consider how their own lives are a means of proclamation. Grateful!
