Spider-Verse fan-favorite Ghost-Spider takes on a multi-dimensional conspiracy in this thrilling graphic novel from New York Times bestselling author Roseanne A. Brown!
Gwen Stacy does her best to balance being a student, playing in her punk band, and fighting crime as the super hero Ghost-Spider. But when Arachnid, a super villain from a different dimension with similar spider powers, attacks her world, Ghost-Spider will have to team up with a new ally—Spider-Punk! Can these two get to the truth behind Arachnid's attacks? And just how did Gwen's family history get webbed into this?
Fun read. Great art style that feels in step with Into the Spider-Verse, which I think will help draw in young readers. Gwen is, as always, a great character to follow, and I was excited to see Spider-Punk in a supporting role. The obviously shady Taylor Swift/Dolly Parton inspired character feels like a fresh addition to what could otherwise have felt like a pretty standard superhero story.
This was unexpectedly excellent. It's the kind of story I've been desperately wanting from the "grown-up" Ghost-Spider comics but have had to contend to uneven quality and a complete lack of joy (yes, I know Gwen is going through some stuff, but damn).
Thanks to Edelweiss for the ARC of this book. This was such a cute Ghost-Spider comic. I love that it’s a book you can just pick up and enjoy even without any comic book knowledge. I can’t wait to start recommending it.
overall the art is cute, and the book itself is very cute, but it feels so far disconnected from any iteration of gwen it was sort of hard to really sink my teeth into.
