About the author

Samuel Sattin is an American writer. His books include the multi-volume Unico series for Scholastic Graphix, Buzzing, Side Quest, The Silent End, and (as co-author) both A Kids Guide to Anime and Manga and The Essential Anime Guide: 50 Iconic Films, Standout Series, and Cult Masterpieces. He has also adapted the Academy Award-nominated films WolfWalkers, Song of the Sea, and The Secret of Kells to the graphic novel format. He graduated with an MFA in comics from the California College of the Arts and works as a studio writer for Schulz Creative Associates, aka Snoopy Central. Samuel resides with his wife in Northern California, and travels frequently to Japan.

Oh, I do love Unico. Every book in this series feels like a delightful throwback, and you can tell lots of love and passion has gone into every page. I will admit this is my least favorite of the 3 so far, it feels a bit scattered, focusing on characters too briefly for me to be invested as much as I was with the other books. I do wish there was a way to end these volumes with something other than "oh no, Unico's in trouble... again!" but that is his lil' unicorn schtick, so I'll deal with it.

Not quite as good as the first 2. It definitely felt like a bit of an intermission after the events of the last books and setting up more for the next one. Felt like a lot of information was thrown at the reader. More Star system cameos for Tezuka fans though and that is always the first reason for my continued reading.

Unico, cette petite licorne trop mignonne a réussi à ravir nos cœurs chez nous et donc la retrouver avec ce tome 3 m’a fait - nous a fait - vraiment très plaisir !

Je ne veux pas vous spoiler, donc je dirais juste que le tome 3 suit parfaitement le tome précédent. Je trouve que l’intrigue devient un peu plus obscure, un peu plus complexe peut-être même mais tout aussi plaisante et captivante. J’ai aimé découvrir ses nouveaux amis et de voir l’apparition du magnifique Sphinx. J’ai également aimé revoir certains personnages de tome précédent 👀😍

Côté graphique : Je suis toujours aussi fan des dessins mignons au couleur toujours aussi belle. J’aime le coup de crayons simple et doux.

𝐄𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐟 : J’ai beaucoup aimé ! Tout me plaît dans cette histoire, tant l’intrigue que les dessins. J’aime l’évolution que ça prend et la fin de ce tome me donne encore plus envie de lire la suite. Une saga qui mérite un peu plus de visibilité.

Lost by Samuel Sattin is the third installment in the Unico series.

After running away from the monster hunter, Iver, Unico finds himself alone and lost in a desert. He sets out to find the Fey Queen Titania, hoping she can help him. Meanwhile, his friends, cats Chloe and Toast, are training to travel across time and space. Will Unico be able to find Queen Titania, and will his friends be able to help him before it’s too late?

I loved the third installment of the series. The graphics and story were well done and easy to get into. I didn’t really care for the time-traveling portions of the book at first because I thought there was a mistake with a repetitive page. I later realized that this was how the author was showing the time-traveling scenes.

I can’t wait to read about Unico’s next adventure.

the villain of this installment was kinda meh in comparison to previous two, mainly because they didn’t get nearly enough time to establish themselves as a threatening big bad. there were also alotta lore/magic system dumps, which to be fair the previous two books also had but i feel like they were more evenly dispersed there & here with all the new time travel cat shenanigans they really laid it on thick which i didn’t love all that much.. howeverrrrr i did love all the tidbits we got about celestial/“starborn” beings + whatever dramatic future is waiting for unico…. man wtf is the deal with that bird

Wow. This was a fun time-travel adventure. Unico, our beloved little unicorn is lost in space and time. While seeking Queen Titania, Unico makes new friends and enemies along the way.

As usual, someone somewhere is hunting this sweet and endearing, transforming unicorn. Can Unico's friends find him in time? And will Unico find Queen Titania?

Unico's story keeps getting more exciting! I love the change up they did with the young Sphinx, Marusu, from the movie, "Unico in the Island of Magic". She is more likable and helpful here unlike her counterpart from the movie who was annoying and useless. More new characters and lore was introduced and returning friends from the previous volumes. For all of us who love fantasy, magic, and adventure...Unico continuing story will not disappoint you. I'm also happy that there will be five more volumes coming!

This series continues to be delightful. The artwork is exquisite, and I absolutely love seeing Unico again after all this time.

The scene where Queen Titania's real form is revealed actually made me gasp. It was so well done!
