“They may steal my freedom, my love, my very breath, but so long as I do not fear them, they hold no power over me.”
"You want power? Prove it. You want magic? Take it."
"They may steal my freedom, my love, my very breath, but so long as do not fear them, they hold no power over me."
"You better get up there. Don't want to get in trouble."
"Oh, but I am trouble."
It's a weakness they don't even know they have- and I am about to exploit the hell out of it.
"Darling, I haven't behaved a day in my life."
The worst part about all of it is ... even if she ran a dagger through my gods damned heart, I would likely grasp her hand just to hold it a moment longer.

"Would you be satisfied with so little of me?"

"I'd beg on my knees just to get that much of you," he breathes.
"Then beg." I whisper
"You're actually letting me choose?"
"With me, you always get to choose."
"If anyone touches me, am I allowed to stab them?"
"No, but I can."
"You could stab me in the back, and I'd probably beg you for more."
I'm glad he's not here to see me break.
I'm dying that he's not here to make it better.![]()
“What’s power and magic without someone weaker to trample on?”── .✦ 2.75 stars ᝰ.ᐟ
“I’ve lied, cheated, turned myself into a weapon to survive.”꒰♟️꒱ draven vos – finally a romantasy mmc with an actual personality that doesn’t revolve around growling and being possessive of the fmc. unlike most of the romantasy mmcs, draven actually possessed a mind and had his own agenda that he stuck to religiously till the end of the book. he was also very lethal with his powers, combat training AND had a drive and ambition for power. his character, unlike rune, was fleshed out really – thus making him stand out not only as a potential love interest for fmc but also as an individual character with his own goals and life.
“He’s hot. He wants me. But he’s also smart. Wickedly, deliciously cunning.”
“I don’t think you’re a monster. Though, sometimes, I think you’re an asshole.”the bad thing is that i simply didn’t care about them as a couple. at all. first it was not enemies to lovers because only rune hated draven, not the other way around. second, i felt zero emotional pull between them. despite having a few scenes of emotional intimacy, everything surprisingly felt pretty passive between them. as a result, neither their disagreements made any sense to me, nor their love confessions. in fact, their whole romance felt artificial as the author just tried to shove in every trope known to humanity (enemies to lovers, fake dating, he falls first, one bed, etc etc.) without having any particular vision or foundation for their relationship.
“Gods Below, your apologies are breathtaking.”
“I don’t hear one given, only rejected,” I chastise.
