Rate this book
In the aftermath of the final high school meet, everything feels like it’s spiraling out of control.
Massen should be celebrating the start of a promising running career—but instead, she’s left hollow, grieving the absence of the one person who promised to stay. As she chases new opportunities, questions about the past haunt her. Did she ever truly know him?

For Elijah, waking up is like surviving a nightmare on repeat. All he can do is focus on protecting the people he loves, even as the weight of secrets and silence threatens to bury him.

As hidden truths surface, loyalties are tested, and justice hangs in the balance. Will the past destroy their future, or is there still a second chance waiting on the other side?

Join Massen, Elijah, and Sam as their journey continues—where heartbreak meets hope, and nothing is ever as it seems.

Ms. Kabir did her thing with this one. The twists and turns will have readers accusing everyone except the right one. At least, that is what I was doing while reading this. This book was completely different than the first book. It started off with a mystery and gave readers an ending that we won't forget. This book made me want to jump into this series. If it was complete, I would move on to the next book so quickly. I don't want to spoil the fun for anybody. All I am going to say is all of our favorite characters are present. Massen is still running. Running is opening doors for her that she never dreamed she would go through. Off to college with things falling apart all around her. How is she supposed to continue on without her support system? Elijah is the one person that makes her feel safe. Now, he is away and things are different from what she dreamed they would be.

There are things going on that no one understands. Even the readers only get bits and pieces of what is going on which leaves us guessing. This book is a mystery and still a brother's best friend love story. Massen is no longer in high school. She and Elijah can finally be together, right? Someone wants to keep them apart. Will they succeed? Ms. Kabir will have me clamoring to read her next book in this series. This book was everything.

I recommend reading book 1 before diving into book 2. You’ll get a better understanding of the characters this way. A few things I loved were the suspense and mystery in this one, I honestly didn’t see the twist in this! I wasn’t expecting the stalker to be who it was! I also loved how Massen’s mom and Elijah’s dad were supportive of her and Elijah’s relationship. What I really couldn’t get on board with was the pet name and some of the dialogue and spicy scenes between Massen and Elijah. It just didn’t hit for me. I think this just stems from them being so young. I’m giving this 3.7 stars and rounding up to a 4/5 as I did enjoy the suspense and mystery and overall story line. Thank you to the author and Crowns of Chaos for this eARC!

This is Elijah and Massen’s story continues from Running Massen. You should really read that book first to better understand characters and circumstances.

I never saw the twist coming. I accused nearly every character in the book of being the stalker except for the one who was. Did anyone figure the stalker out before the reveal?

This book is filled with suspense, drama and angst. I also was starting to root for a side character instead of Elijah right before things started falling into place.

The reason for lowering my rating by a half star was the dialogue in spicy scenes. The wording has always been a no go for me. Other than that the book was captivating and mysterious.

I will not give spoilers but I do recommend this book and the series. I’m anxiously awaiting Marcus and June’s book.

As a preface, you must read book one before this one. That being said, Fidda delivered a twist and turn emotional adventure that will leave you gripping the pages and unsure whose in the wrong and if Massen will get her HEA. The changes between Massen's mom and dad in the first book, compared to now, were nice to see for me. the tricky part for me was watch Elijah walking away from Massen, not because he wanted to but because he felt he had to. But their love in this series is strong and I had such hope they will reunite. I guess you will have to read to figure out how things turned out for Massen.

Who is looking for an amazing sports romance that includes brother’s best friend and brother’s little sister with an age gap? Did I mention he is also her coach! Then Massen Daughter of the Wind is for You! This is book 2 of the Running Massen series of which I highly recommend reading the books in order. Book 2 Massen Daughter of the Wind picks up right where book 1 Running Massen ends. We have Massen running her last high school race and Elijah in jail for crimes he didn’t commit. Elijah is forced to walk away from Massen in order to protect her. Massen leaves to go to college and pursue her dream of running in the Olympics. The question is does Massen and Elijah live happily ever after? Find out how far a little bit of “HOPE” goes…

Did I love this? Of course!!
I absolutely did. I am so glad i signed up for the ARC.
Firstly, the cover is so cute. You have to see it.
Secondly, the story itself was so good. The angst, the emotions, the vulnerability? Chef's kiss.
I felt sad when Elijah went into a coma and missed Massen's pregnancy. Aaa!
And the plot twist? Didn't see that coming from miles. I had thought the antagonist would be a male. Lo behold Britney!
As for Jake and William, is it just me or do they seriously have something going on?

Sat for June and Melody's books!
Thank you Fidda Apu for this beautiful book.

This book picks up right at the end of book one. You need to have read book one first.

What I liked: I love the brother’s best friend trope but also that he has been there since she was born. Loving her before they even knew what romantic love was. It’s nice having a FMC who accomplishes so much at such a young age. I thought I figured out the stalker but I was so wrong! I loved that I missed the smallest clues about the stalker’s identity so I was shocked. Lastly, the different POV’s! Loved that we got to see inside the minds of some characters outside of the MMC & FMC. My favorite scene - the rain scene. I was so glad Elijah did what he did.

What I liked less: The first 25% or so was basically one giant miscommunication trope. I get that it was part of the storyline and honestly it fits but I felt like it drug out too long. I was so confused on how much time passed. I wasn’t sure if it was weeks or months. Chapter 41 - the first sentence made me want to throw my kindle.

The fact that I was almost rooting for someone other than Elijah AND that I reached a point that I wanted to throw my kindle says a lot about the book. Obviously I was completely invested and had an emotional attachment to the characters which makes the book that much more enjoyable.

Massen picks up right where book one ended, and I appreciated how seamlessly the story continued. The stakes were high, and there were definitely dramatic twists to keep readers turning the pages.
If you enjoy angsty romance with plenty of twists and a rollercoaster of emotions, this is the one for you.

I gave this 3.5 stars so since I can’t use 1/2 stars I moved it up to 4. This was a very enjoyable, fun and inspiring continuation of Running Massen. It was a wonderful story of strength and determination to continue running after all the trials she and Elijah had experienced. At times, I felt that Elijah seemed possessive or borderline toxic, but that is my own thought. I do know that there are couples out there that love and cherish each other but have this type of relationship and they are happily thriving in those, but it just made me feel a little taken aback. The way Massen showed her loyalty and dedication to her relationship was inspiring. She showed and delivered a powerful message to the uncertain, insecure young woman, that choosing yourself and believing in yourself will give you the victories we thrive for. The author also put quotes at the end of the chapters, I wish they were at the beginning as it would of added an introduction if you will to what the chapter could bring, but I enjoyed those as well

Its better if you read the first book, but it still make sense if you don't. Massen was a bit, i don't know strange? Elijah was in a massive hole and she did not try to see and help him, I would be all over him. Also the time line was a bit off, she winning everything in college, how long was he in jail? So that was a bit off for me. Other than that it was a good story, it would have been better, if he told her the truth and if she believed in him more and fights with him. During the read I always thought, just talk, talk! Finally after the talk, about 60 % into the book it was very nice and right. All in all a good story with a villain you did not expect.

Read the first book so you know what's going on! There was mystery and drama right from the beginning! I was quite sad when Elijah left Massen, but I know there was a good reason behind it. I am really loving this series and the twists & turns going on. Elijah and Massen definitely have a pull towards each other and I don't think they could have get rid of their feelings. I was quite surprised by the ending, I didn't see that coming at all! I'm so excited for the next one!

Book two of the Rising series picks up where book one left off. It’s a best friends to lovers, brother’s best friend, small town romance. The well developed plot is emotional, heartfelt, spicy and filled with angst and mystery. Massen and Elijah are great characters with excellent chemistry. A great young love romance.

This is book 2. It picks up where book one leaves off. So many questions lingered. The angst, emotion, spice, soul mate connection, suspence and mystery all rolled in to one makes an amazing book.

Must read book 1 because it leaves off right where it left off. So much happens in this book so you never know what to expect to happen next. Great way to end it.

This book continues where the first one left off. I love that we also get the point of view from a couple other characters. It helps build the story.
