another case of plagiarism and no real talent, not to mention clear use of AI. this "author" stole from Rose Brik and i'm sure many other poets and assumed nobody would notice but the author did and when called out on their behavior, they did not apologize or take accountability for it. instead, they gave a bullshit explanation, removed their book off amazon and then quietly re-released it to remove all the reviews calling them out — however that didn't work. 🥰

this author also assumes we don't know her real identity, however the covers of her other books under a different name are nearly the same and it's no coincidence that they also plagiarize.

this person deserves nothing but the consequences coming their way. i hope they never publish again without this following them permanently. a joke of a human being.

not to mention, most of the reviews left on this book are from FAKE ACCOUNTS !!!!

So I hate reviewing self help or poetry books. This short book “The Scars That Made Me” is a shorter story written like poetry talking about healing and the importance of moving on from your past and not allowing it to define who you become. This book allowed me to view my future in a different way, one where I am not bound to my past but can be hopeful for the future. 💜

The book is plagiarized in its entirety and the ‘writer’ of this is trying to cover it up. Please refer to rose brik, the poet who is being plagiarized. Her Instagram is @rosebrikpoet and has more information. Don’t buy this, don’t bother reading it, it is for a lack of better word… rubbish.

I felt some of these poems in ways I can’t truly explain and I though it was good but seeing all of the views and comments about her taking someone else work makes it a low rating

A bit repetitive but there were some poems that were intriguing.

“I became the “strong one” before I even knew what strength was. I didn’t choose this role, it chose me.”

Well, this hit harder than it should have.

15+ tags on poems that were so relatable it was as though I wrote them myself.

I take my review back. Wish I would’ve known it was plagiarized before purchasing.

CW: talks of emotional abuse, abandonment, parentification, toxic relationships (romantic and familial)

overall this was ok. some poems were a bit repetitive and may have been better combined with each other and the collection itself being condensed a smidge more. this is a style of poetry im overall a fan of, but I didnt love these as much as I'd hoped. a few definitely hit home for me and if you also have a strained (at best) relationship with any or all of your parents, you may feel the same.

I know im not a poetry expert by any means, but this one definitely has a more beginner feel overall. the author may do better as they hone their style going forward, and I wouldn't be completely against reading more from them at some point in the future. no amanda lovelace or parker lee in my opinion (theyre my faves), but an ok start!

[this book is currently (at the time of this writing) only available self pubbed as a paperback through amazon (in the usa at least), just as a note, if you're wanting to check it out yourself.]
