10 years in prison changed and matured me in ways that the streets couldn’t. When my son was born after I got out, my entire purpose in life shifted. All I wanted to do was provide the best life for him and protect him from any and everything that meant him no good, his mother included. At 33 years old, I was chilling, and the single father life was cool until I stumbled across my 90s R&B Queen. For her, nothing was off limits. Not even my old life.

Life hadn't been fair to me since the day I was born. From parents who didn't want me to foster families who didn't either, I always felt discarded in a sense. That in turn made me guarded. Protective over my feelings and myself until I ran into my Prince Charming. Prince Charming turned into the devil, so I fled back to my hometown. The twisted trail of betrayal that awaited me in Virginia was something I never saw coming, but King Charming stepped in and did something that no man had; protected me.

I enjoyed this story. It is filled with a real chance at love, really knowing what affection, protection, and feeling safe in a relationship means. It's been vulnerable and able to trust when your past showed you why you shouldn't. It is about overcoming your past to bask in all of the things that you didn't know were possible like a family and love. It's about finding your home and belonging to people who really loves you and have your back.
Sapphire's journey in life started out rough and only got worse when she connected with her exes. Mekhi had to step in and fill in shoes that weren't meant for him at a young age and had to sit down, but he turned his life around once he was out. Being a father, ensuring his family was straight, and starting a mentoring program for at risk kids. However, an unfortunate night put him and Saph on their path to destiny. I love how their journey unfolded and how they gave each other something that they never had or knew they needed. I love the support from family shown, and Aunt Pooh is my favorite. She had me laughing constantly and Khi definitely took after his aunt with his unfilteredness. I couldn't stop smiling at this story and how Khi knew from the jump that he found his good thing. I'm glad that Saph didn't let her past define her or stop her from receiving what was for her. It was already bound.
I see both of them needed each other Second chance at happiness and love
I would say all three of them brothers were crazy frfr ...
I'm glad She didn't turn her back Ju especially finding out Lana was in on keeping an eye on her only because her ex wow 😳...
Mekhi was perfect for her And I liked how he just kept showing and bringing happiness to both of there lives!!!!
Right ain't nobody thinking about his bm yeah she dumb ain't no way I'm sitting in jail for no one and he didn't even try to get her out so she gonna be sitting in there hell naw!!!!
Zell found love Khail he what she needed too
I'm glad Walt got himself together fixed the relationship with his brother and her too
His mom was truth But Rosie kept it real and kept me laughing so hard
Shari B, when I tell you this read right here had me go through every emotion a person can have. Thanks for the disclaimer, it was a personal situation t for me many years ago that ended the exact way. I want to thank you for always making heavy topics a lesson of love in the end. Lord, I loved Aunt Poo and Zell. Every body needs one or both in their lives. Mehki was just my errythang! He had just the right amount of balance. Thank you for giving Sapphire a voice and strength. You really know how to give us crazy in every way😅😅, It's really sad some people take, take, take until there's nothing left. Don't love me that way. As always great job!!!l p.s. I'm not gonna ask for Zell and Khalil.!🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Man it was crazy with all the lies, the betrayal and just all out sick twisted minds of the Freeman men. First, it was truly sad what happened to Solana and my heart broke for Justin. Sapphire was dealt a tough hand and has been where some of us females had when we were looking for love in all the wrong places. She made it out but not knowing that one move pit her right back in the lion's den. Mekhi was a man that made mistakes and was righting his wrong, by being there for kids that needed that positive outlet. Him and Saph deserved each other and to have that love and bond build organically is beautiful. Love the ending, great job sis 💛
I love all the love in this book. Saph was a great friend and stepped like the great friend she is. She was there for Ju when he needed her the most. She showed him love and got so much more love in return. Mekhi saw what he wanted and went in head first. The 3D brother’s were indeed extraterrestrial. They surely got what was coming. I’m so happy Zell got her sister back. She a lil crazy and unmuted Khalil lol. Aw yeah and Walt got some since knocked into that azz
This book was absolutely amazing. It touched on so many aspects of life from childhood trauma to adulthood life. Mecai was such a stand up guy from the time he rescued Ju to actually reconnecting with Sapphire. All the D brothers was crazy but thank you Desmond for the will. Aunt Poo was so funny to telling off her sister Lynette and everyone else. But she spoke that realness to Walt crazy selfish ass. Loved this book and this author because she never fails me.
I really enjoyed this book. I'm glad Saffire was able to get away from them crazy brothers. I think Diamon was the worst of the three. He had to be to do his own brother like that. Regardless Mekhi wasn't playing with nobody when it came to Saffire. Walt had me corner eyeing him for a minute because his resentment for his brother Mekhi was uncalled for and I loved how Aunt Pooh called him out on it. I really enjoyed this read.💙💙
Mekhi was absolutely 👨🏾🍳💋 He was so patient & kind with Sapphire 🥰 I loved seeing her be loved correctly & given the love she truly deserved! Them brothers deserved every single terrible thing that happened to them! & Solana was still foul in my eyes for the way she moved. I loved the way they took care of Khion & Justin, it was so beautiful 🥹 Mekhi was a phenomenal father and Sapphire stepped up to be a great caretaker. I genuinely enjoyed this book from beginning to end.
This book was one of my best books to read. From beginning to end, I loved it. Mekhi let it be known from the start that Sapphire was gonna be his and the spiciness between them was 🔥. Aunt Pooh just made the book even more loved. I hollered so many times with her comments….loved it. Incorporating that humor within everything that was going on was perfect!!! Loved this book
This book was so good sapphire went through so much with the three D's brothers. Even the woman she considered her best friend had skeletons 💀. She met mekhi and he changed her life for the better. They needed each other. Juju was an innocent boy who lost so much at a young age but was blessed with sapphire. This standalone definitely is a must read 💥💥💥💥💥
I loved Sapphire and Mekhi’s journey to healing and love. Them damn Freeman 🥷’s were crazy and delusional. So glad they all got what they deserved and though I feel bad that Solana lost her life her karma came back to her unfortunately. Aunt Pooh was a whole character. Glad aunt Cheryl got it together for Justin’s sake. Another banger by Ms. Shari B.
I loved everything about this book there were a few grammatical errors, but not enough to take away from the story. This story touches on child abuse, domestic abuse, obsession, jealousy, and murder. I loved the MMC and the MFC. They were so sweet together. Aunt Pooh had me in tears laughing. Sex scenes were 🔥 and 🌶. Kudos to the author👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 another home run.
I enjoyed this one . Man Malik is one crazy freak. He tickle me sometimes the way he be acting with Saphire. I loved how the grandmother even stepped in to help raise the baby too. Gammy ❤️
I enjoyed Bond by a Miami Bad Boy Desmon Diamon and Damon each got what they deserved. Sapphire I felt bad for her and I was happy she ran into Mekhi and they made each other happy. Walter got on my nerves with his entitled self.
I loved this story from beginning to end poor Sapphire just had it all bad. Them brother exactly what they deserved. Mr. Ochasson was the man point blank period everyone needs one of them in their lives he applied the pressure and got the prize.
This was a good standalone book. It was sad Solana had lost her life that way, and Justin had to witness it. Damon, Diamon, and Desmon got what they deserved. Aunt Pooh was my girl she didn't care what came out of her mouth. I love Mekhi and Sapphire together, I absolutely loved their story. If you’re thinking about reading, READ IT .
Sapphire was finally free and happy. Thank goodness because those brothers were going to be the death of her. Mekhi made her a promise, and he kept his word. Now I don’t know where Aunt Pooh came from but I love her character. She kept me laughing.
Desmon and Solana was so wrong for how they were deceiving Sapphire. I'm glad she found someone to love her for her. Mekhi was a real gentleman. I loved how he stepped up and care of his son.
I really enjoyed this book. It was very entertaining, but that Aunt Pooh was the perfect side character. She had me rolling. I don’t know if it’s because we all have a her in our family or have had one. Great work!
Love, Love, Love this. Auntie Pooh is freaking hilarious. Desmond and his brother was real looney. Mekhi didn’t play about Sapphire and I love that. So happy she had her foster sister. This had me up this the sun came up.
This was a very interesting read. Those Freeman brothers needed to be committed because wtf. When I tell you this book will have you locked in from the first page. It’s not predictable and characters are likable. Definitely worth the purchase.
A man that knows what he wants, and understands what you need and is willing to wait to give it to you is EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! This book was everything, I loved everything about it!
Shari you never ceases to amaze me. Each book I read by you just gets better and better. This book was good and I really enjoyed it. I love the way it ended. This is most definitely a must read. I loved me some Mekhi. Btw Aunt Pooh was hilarious…
Good read. I enjoyed the book from beginning to end. When Mekhi loved he loved hard. I also loved the relashionship between Sapphire and Zell and her .craziness
Sap and Maki is couple goals!! I love the way he accepts her and what comes with her and ride or die..them 3 brother is crazy especially desmon he was very delusional
This was truly a beautiful love story and Aunty Pooh a trip. We need more like this. Not all the time about the toxic struggle love couple with happy endings.
