Tash All I wanted was my freedom. A way out of a bad situation but I ran straight into the arms of a devil dressed as a god. Solomon Solo Godfrey was cruel, calculated, and merciless but he was also the savior I needed. I should have backed out the moment he pierced me with those soulless eyes. I shouldn’t have let him kiss me, but I did. I should have listened to the heart that was beating out of my chest. but I’d bent around ruthless men before, so I made a deal with Solo. Now he owned me, and every part of my body will bare his name.
Solo I’d ever planned a destruction as well as I planned hers. She was the perfect victim. Innocent, sweet, and unsuspecting. Her dark skin glistened in the night. And those thighs were made to be parted. I couldn’t wait until she realized what she had done. Her lips would call my name. Her tongue would beg me for mercy she would never get. She came to me for protection, but I’d never known a man more dangerous than me. I was going to be her undoing.

I’m not new to this series, but I am new to a Laquana Brumfield book. Needless to say, I didn’t really know what to expect as far as her writing style.
For the most part, I liked the way “Solo the God” was written. Laquana Brumfield did a great job with pacing and creating a bond between Tash and Solo. Now, I’m a “get-to-the-point” type of reader so when Laquana would have Tash or Solo harp on a memory/thought repeatedly, I would skim or skip that paragraph.
As for details on the story and characters, I was colored surprised as soon as the book started. We immediately find out that Tash has been married for nine years. It was at that point that I knew some fuckery was about to happen because her husband ain’t Solo.
And there isn’t much for me to say about Tash or Solo. Solo was the run-of-the-mill motorcycle club leader, and Tash was an educated woman who fell dependent upon her high school sweetheart husband. They’re both some broken individuals who find solace in each other.
One thing I didn’t like was that Solo would claim Tash as his “property”. That just doesn’t sit right in my spirit. Tash is a [fictional] person. Not something to own.
And here’s my thought while reading the ending/epilogue: “Girl, what? Y’all can’t just date?” Not one “I love you” was spilled and they hadn’t talked in months. It was probably supposed to be seen as a grand gesture of sorts, but it just made me feel like Laquana needed a quick way to wrap “Solo the God” up.
Tash has had enough of the abuse from her husband and finally chose freedom. However, that freedom was attached to Solomon Solo Godfrey. After a deal is made, she is known his. Known to be cruel, calculated, and merciless, she wasn't sure if she was running straight into another danger zone. However, she'd soon find out.
Solo, initially decided she be nothing more than another unsuspecting victim. But the closer then became, the more he felt compelled to protect more than just her body. Hardened by life, Solo continuously pushes Tasha away but finds himself repeatedly drawn to the beauty. Soon more than just their lives are untangled. 🌶️

Enjoyed this book in this series. Tyson was indeed a butthole, he wanted something he clearly didn't know how to handle, he had all those abusive traits his father had, and the one man that took him under his wing he took him out then abused his wife so sad, he got exactly what he deserved, happy no one was willing to follow him. At first Solo had this hard exterior but as the story developed you couldn't help but to like him, the way he looked out for Rebel even though he wanted to join the crew was something positive all while promising to take care of his sister, whom he didn't intend on falling heavy for but he did, Tasha came in and chipped away at that stone wall around his heart and it drove him crazy because he never felt that way for anyone. As for Tasha when she finally decided to leave that no good so called husband who only belittled her, cheated on her, abused hee physically, mentally, and emotionally but she got the courage and finally stood up for herself. Great read.
Talk about rough around the edges... Baby, Solo is that and then some. Childhood trauma ain't no joke. It has Solo and Tash in a chokehold. They have been navigating life as best as they could. Deciding to leave Tyson was the best thing that she could have done for herself. He was a manipulative person who abused her regularly. Seeking help by calling her brother was a good move.
Solo kidnapped her, protected her, and fell in love with her even though he fought it. At the end he let her go so that she could discover who she was. She put her nursing degree to work and found that she was worthy. Solo waited for her to return but decided she was taking too long. So he made something shake. He asked her to marry him and she said yes.
This is my 1st book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!… Solo the God played no games and he let it be known!!!… I love how he made sure that Rebel, did something with his life other than running the streets, despite his desire to be part of his MC!!!.. The jealousy, envy and desire to control Tash and those around him, Tyson got exactly what he wanted looking for Ana I was here for it!!!… Tash showed that she can survive outside of what a man thinks he is giving her, even if here is consequences!!!…She also showed her strength by standing up to Solo also and I loved that for her!!!…
Solo and Tash came about when she had had enough of her cheating and abusive husband, Tyson. Solo ended up kidnapping Tash for her own safety and for the safety of her brother. Their relationship starts out cantankerous but ends up being passionate once they both realized that their feelings had deepened. Solo fought his feelings for Tash, but in the end, he finally knew that she was the woman for him. I couldn't stand Tyson, and I didn't feel sorry for him one bit because he brought it on himself. Another great book by the author that I enjoyed!!
This standalone is so lit. Tash husband got what he deserved beating on my girl like that. And he really was jealous about the head guy and messed with his bike and killed him. I’m glad solo to him out cause he was being too handzy to females. I’m glad solo went and got his woman back. I really need an update on them. U did good on the first book that I read of urs and I’m looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read
Ol' hubby should have been taken care of. Forget a truce he was foul from the beginning. To think it was happening for a while. Yeah, nope. I liked Solo as he stood on business and protecting Tash and everyone else really. He wanted the young one to do good and encouraged the right paths even if he watched them steer left.
Him and Tash cat and mouse game was alright until she discovered his truth and he shut down. They were meant to be, though.
This book was really good, I am so glad that Tyson got what he deserved. Sad to read his mother suffered ( probably in silence) at the hands of his father. I was mad at Solo for being a dick to Tasha. Because he was afraid to give her his heart and felt he didn’t deserve love. However, I am glad he came to his senses and opened his heart to Tasha.
Tasha was in an abusive marriage and realizing on her ninth anniversary Tyson was going to always disrespect her and abuse her she ran. Asking her brother for help he brought her to the President on his Motorcycle club…Solo.
Solo hated Tyson and was ready to give him what he deserved. But also relished he wanted Tasha too.
Solo the god was a god can I tell you even though he was a little ruthless and cruel, calculated, and merciless but when he love someone he loves hard. He want her for the first time he meet her and want her to worship him and beg him to please her . Omg that steaming scene weee out of this world10/10 would recommend you read

What happened to the older brother. Rebel stated they tried to keep in touch but dud the family ever reconnect? Did Tasha have an issue conceiving? I just knew she'd be pregnant by Solo. And What happened to the Burners? Did they disband, get a new leader? My nosey behind needs to have things wrapped up.
Tasha did right to get away from Tyson and his abuse. Rebel taking her to receive help from Solo was not what she expected. It caused unexpected problems, but turned out good for Tasha. Solo developed feelings that he'd never felt while having Tasha around. Although, he fought his feelings, he finally faced reality. Great read.
Solo went through so much from a child into adulthood. To not know your biological parents and then after he reconnected with his foster sister/best friend then loose her the way he did I see why his tolerance level was so low. Tash's husband got what he deserved and to know he father treated his mother the same way is crazy.
The audacity these men be having!! How you go months without a word, then pop up at my job talking ’bout “Will you marry me?” And THEN have the nerve to say, “You was takin’ too long to come back to me, baby”? 😭
She better than me, because I would’ve two-pieced him on sight… then said yes. 😂
Rebel did exactly what he was suppose to do behind his sister ! ! ! Tasha should’ve left after the first hit but she made sure she got away before death came knocking ! ! ! Solo took one look at Tash and said oh yeah that’s mine ! ! ! Tyson wasn’t even loyal to his self ! ! !
When you on the run from your crazy husband into the arm of someone crazier with more swag. Kidnapped to lover is one of my favorite tropes. This wasn’t really a kidnapping because he treated her way better than the hubby was. I woulda been like “please don’t send me back Solo”
This is my first read from this author and I will be checking out more.
This book irked me and the MFC did as well. It was written as if she was kidnapped but technically her and her brother went to them for help. This wasn’t my cup of tea and this book got on my nerves
YES!!!!! This was well written. I loved how his life was hard, but wanted better from the crew. Uggghhhh TYSON was a jealous, vindictive, and disloyal punk. He got what he deserved
I really enjoyed this book. From Tyson's introduction in the the book, I just knew he wouldn't make it to the end. Nothing about him was good. Solo, on the other hand, was someone I cheered or and hoped he would end up with happily ever after. I loved that Solo finally came back for Tasha.
What a story! Murder was the theme of the story, but cause was more important. Once again early trauma was the cause of most of the discomfort of Tash and Solo.Excellent writing.
You so wrong for that ending lol. This was such a cute read though. I understand them needing to come together in a different way, but geez lol. I hope you plan to spin the block.
Solo and Tash both experienced heartbreak. I was happy he gave Rebel a different choice and I know Jalen will get one as well. He came back for his girl lol.
I really enjoyed this story. Solo is my man!! This story was really good. This was my first read by Laquana Brumfield and I plan to read more by her in the future.
