Power is rising. The covens want control. And I am the weapon they fear.
Returning to Wexton University should have meant stability, but the moment I step onto campus, the Witchery shifts. I am a Focal now—the anchor of a young coven fighting to survive in a world ruled by politics, hunger, and old magic.
Carmen, Aubrey, Tanisha, Tomoko, and the others draw strength through me. Our bond is growing, but so are the threats around us. Rival covens circle, waiting for us to slip. Monsters move beneath the city. Something ancient is waking.
At the center of it all stands Olivia Sinclair. Beautiful and ruthless, a witch with enough power to tear my coven apart piece by piece. She wants what is mine, and she will burn everything to take it.
But she isn’t the only danger.
The Nocturnus Conclave is draining a bound goddess to twist the flow of magic and force humanity to its knees. If they succeed, every coven will kneel or die. My people are already fracturing, pulled in opposite directions as enemies close in on every side.
I am the one holding us together.
And I will not let Wexton break us.
I will face any witch, any monster, and any god to protect my coven. Because I am not just their Focal. I am the line between them and annihilation.
Covenbound delivers dark magic, violent trials, coven warfare, and steamy tension in a supernatural battleground where power decides everything.
Raised in a traveling circus and shuffled between cities like Bangkok and Berlin, AH Vale grew up telling stories between acts and across continents. Now rooted in a fog-drenched New England town, he channels that same wild energy into steamy, high-stakes urban fantasy full of danger, desire, and dark magic.
AH’s books blend the pulse-pounding action of pulp fiction with edgy, unconventional relationships and fantasy worlds teetering on the brink of chaos. If you're into covens, ancient secrets, forbidden realms, and complicated love—you’re in the right place.

I'm a bit on the fence about this second book in this series. While there is a really decent concept behind it all, there are some plot points that aren't good, and the women in his coven leave a lot to be desired.
There were several negatives to this one that bothered me. Using the MC being almost raped by a woman to steal him from his coven was distasteful, and he had to be saved by one of his coven members. After that point, there is just about no sexual activity outside of teases to start and get interrupted until the very end, where one of the women jumps on him.
The antagonist for this book is a 3rd year student who happens to have empathy as her magic ability. So a majority of the book is him having his coven starting to drift away from him through a series of events and manipulation. Knowing the haremlit community's unrelenting fear of anything remotely NTR, this will surely rub a lot of readers the wrong way, even if he ultimately prevails and keeps them all.
A solid second entry in the series with the same issues like the first one.
We get to see how the MC handles the coven and the relationship between the coven (both romantic and non-romantic) in this book while navigating the politics between the covens and the focals as well.
The problem for me about this book is that all the LIs are needy and has a problem where they want the MC to fix it for them. This is perfectly fine for me if the issues are introduces one by one but here the author introduced them very early on and it felt to me like they are all pressuring the MC to fix it as soon as possible. If this was handled to a limit, this book would have been a 4 star book to me.
This is a fantastic sequel to the first. The main issue is how much more of a push over the MC is gonna be. A woman tried to kill him the entire book and make him suffer and he went out of his way to be nice and apologize for being mad about it.
