Welcome to the hottest live-streamed reality TV show.
15 Influencers, models, fame-hungry hopefuls. They signed up to be on a live-streamed survival game.
One weekend. One forest. One masked hunter. No phones. No backup. No way out.
The rules are Get to the safe zone before sunrise. Don't get caught. Stay alive.
But the truth? There is no safe zone. There are no winners. There's only the stream, and the scream.
The hunter is real. Trained. Bloodthirsty. His mask is rigged with cameras. You see what he sees. Every scream, every death, and every fuck.
The world is watching. Betting. Streaming. Getting off on every second.
But this time, something's changed. He found one he doesn't want to kill. He wants her. To ruin. To keep. He wants to make hers the only scream that matters.
When Melissa isn't writing about delulu men, she is chasing kids, cleaning, or downing her fifth coffee of the day. She loves dark romance, especially dark fantasy romance, with possessive men, lots of gore, and the right balance of 'WTF' moments and spice!
I should've stopped after reading the BJ scene, but I had to push on..
We have Olivia, who is a contestant on an island survival and wants to win money. Little does she know, and the others, they are truly being hunted; it's not a game. Enter Jaxen, the hunter. He's done this many times, and this time it's a little different since he saw Olivia. He's still playing the game, but she's the last he'll kill to make it fun for the streamers. But the more he watches and follows Olivia, the more he wants to keep her. His motives change, but he still wants her to think he'll kill her.
Poor Olivia, she's a strong baddie and keeps to herself. She did not want to help anyone, which is good for her. Be realistic; these people wouldn't help her if she was tied up. She has conflicting feelings with Jaxen and how to make it out alive. The ending is a HFN for them, but the people aren't finished with these two. They escaped, but they might be hunted again.
I do wonder if the live stream like the world watching or like dark web?
Saftey- he gets a bj from one of the ppls and kills her. So yeah. no romance there.

What a horrible disgusting depraved ridiculous book!!! And I fucking loved every second of reading it. 😂😂😂 what the hell does that say about me?
I need to attend therapy for enjoying this book so much. An unhinged ex-marine serial killer let loose on a fucked up reality show where he kills the contestants and they don’t realise they are prey. What a deranged concept. And he becomes madly obsessed with the FMC. Read your triggers. It’s all dubcon and messed up. He isn’t a lovable MMC he is an actual psycho.
Yet I still ate this up. It was a very short and easy read. It felt like if a serial killer from a slasher movie decided to keep the final girl alive and claim her as his. The writing was not good lmao. No offense to the authors but they would write one thing in one POV and something completely else in the other POV even though it was the same conversation. Or the FMC is wearing a black tracksuit the whole book and then it would say he rips her jeans. What jeans? She isn’t wearing jeans. Or how randomly she was holding a knife while she slept, but she never had a knife to begin with.
But this is pure fun trash. I don’t expect a literary masterpiece. I expect fun, smut and some fucked up shit. And I got that. 😂
I really enjoyed this one — it was such an easy read to fall into. The pacing kept me hooked, and even though there were a few small plot holes, I didn’t want to put it down. The setup of a reality survival game that quickly spirals into something much darker gave it a tense, binge-worthy energy.
The standout for me was Jaxon. There’s just nothing like a man who is beyond obsessed with you, and his devotion to Olivia was equal parts terrifying and addictive. That all-consuming, possessive “you’re mine and I’ll burn the world to prove it” energy carried the whole story.
Olivia held her own, and I loved seeing the push and pull between her survival instincts and Jaxon’s relentless fixation. Their dynamic is messy, intense, and completely unhinged in the best way.
Even with its flaws, this was a thoroughly entertaining read that left me wanting more. Here’s hoping for a book two — I’d love to see just how far Jaxon’s obsession and devotion to Olivia will go.
Stream & Scream isn’t just a book, it’s a sick and twisted little game disguised as reality TV.
The contestants? Please. Half of them are clout-chasing morons who think followers will save them. The rest are fake-tough idiots destined to be ripped apart on live stream. And watching all of that chaos like a bored god is Milo Vane. Smug producer, grinning while he sells every drop of blood to the highest bidder. He’s the kind of man who’d charge extra for a corpse with good lighting.
But the real addiction? Jaxen. The Hunter. War born, scarred, controlled to the point of cruelty. He doesn’t just kill, he curates terror, and the way he watches Liv…my god. It’s pure obsession from the start. He catalogues her fear, her defiance, her scars - like he’s framing art before he decides whether to ruin it or preserve it. And I couldn’t look away.
Liv is the spine of the story. She’s not playing for the camera. She’s too scarred, too smart, and way too stubborn to fall into the producer’s script. She learns, adapts, and quietly starts playing her own game, and it makes her glow in the dark...exactly the way Jaxen wanted. Their dynamic is all wrong and exactly right: predator and prey, filmed and consumed, tense...and unbearable...and perfect.
And the setting? Oh, baby. The forest is alive with drones, lenses, and a million hungry viewers. Every scream is a product. Every body is content. The book takes the worst parts of modern voyeurism and slaps you across the face with them. It’s claustrophobic, cinematic, and cruel as fuck.
This isn’t a cute little comfort read. It’s blood, violence, spectacle, and dread. It’s being complicit - cheering for the monster and loving it. And me? I grinned through the gore and begged for more.
Stream & Scream by Dana LeeAnn and Melissa MCSherry
I have loved every single book they have written together! I love this one just as much! I'm so obsessed with it!
This is so fast paced and it will have you not wanting to put it down because it's so good!
I mean what could go wrong when you have 15 influencers that are going to go into the wilderness and have it streamed for their followers. I mean nothing could go wrong right!? WRONG SO WRONG
From the moment Olivia steps off that bus with the other Jaxen sets his eyes on her and immediately becomes OBSESSED and knows that he is going to have fun playing with her.
Jaxen is ex-military and he is set out to be The Hunter. What the others don't know if they might be the ones being hunted. He was there to do a job but he just couldn't help but obsess over Olivia and make sure to have fun playing with her in the process 😉🥵
As soon as I read the blurb, I just knew it was a book I needed to jump into! I absolutely adore slasher vibes, especially when it’s a game of survival chucked in the mix.
If I could offer one little thing to have made my reading experience better would have been explaining more about the contestants and the reality after the games. I understood that they had no idea that the game was real, but what happens after their death? Outside of the game? Does the family of the contestants question what happened? I would assume that the contestants told them where they were going? Also, I got confused at times about the audience. Was it like a dark web audience? Who paid for the reality type killings? Or was it actually broadcasted to normal people, who thought it was all ‘pretend’? It only confused me because there were times the audience were described as wanting the kill? And so if it was a dark web audience, how did the contestants know about ‘the hunter’ ?
Also, I don’t know if it was a mistake or not, but at one point, Liv had heard the hunters name was Jax. But afterwards, before she thought she was going to get killed, she mentioned when referring to the hunter ‘I never got to know his name’ ? Just thought it was worth mentioning.
Other than that, I really enjoyed the book. I especially loved how gruesome the deaths were! Highly praise the author for that! I honestly wanted more! It was brutal and exactly what I was hoping for! 😆
I am honestly hoping that the book gets another one. I am very curious as to how Jax and Liv’s lives play out after this. I would definitely read it if there will be 🙂
But yes, I enjoyed it!

Stream & Scream is a dark romance that centers around influencers thinking they are part of a contest to win half a million dollars, if they can survive a weekend in the woods. The catch? None of them know they're being hunted but the scariest kind of hunter... Jaxen. A man unhinged and currently obsessed with one contestant in particular: Olivia. We have slasher vibes, we have possessive vibes, and we have the spiciness to accompany this wild ride. I can't help it, I like Jaxen. I know what he did! Don't look at me like that! He's in love, d@mmit! I'm hoping we get a book 2 so we can see where the rest of Jaxen and Olivia's story leads.
The cast is clot chasing morons except for Olivia she stands out more than the others, and Jaxen, the hunter, has his eyes set on her. Olivia isn't there to go viral like the 14 others are she here to play the came and get the prize at the end. None of the 15 know that the hunt is real, and it's bein live streaming with viewers placing bets who will come out on top and won't get hunted by the one hunter Jaxen. Olivia is an observer and has always been since her past bein from foster home to foster home. All they have to do is survive in the zone until sunrise Monday morning, but can they survive 60 hours bein in a forest while they are bein hunted by the hunter Jaxen. All 15 contestants think Stream & Scream a Milo production is a TV show lil do they know that it is real life survival. One by one, they get hunted by the hunter but not Liv, Jaxen is obsessed with her. The cat and mouse chase that Jaxen has with Liv was wonderful. This book is really good it had me hooked from beginning to end. If there is a book 2, I definitely will read.
Stream & Scream is an erotic horror romance that kept me on the edge of my seat. Olivia was such a relatable FMC and easy to root for. Jaxen is the perfect hunter- he’s lethal, unhinged, and just the right amount of obsessed when it comes to Liv. The predator/ prey dynamic between these two was absolute fire 🔥 These two authors never disappoint!
📺Hunter x prey dynamic 🩸If I catch you, I fck you 🎥Voyeurism 💀Degradation kink 📺Reality tv from hell 🩸Dub con 🎥Breath play 💀🔪 play
Where do I even start? This was definitely dark and quite gory, but was a pretty fun read overall. It didn't require a ton of energy and the general plot was interesting. It was brutal and unhinged, but in the way that all dark romances tend to be.
Olivia was your typical final girl fmc and Jaxen was a true serial killing weirdo.
There were definitely some eyeroll moments, but overall it was entertaining to see everything unfold and it was the perfect read right before Halloween.
I buddy read with my friend Jaryn and we got a lot of giggles out of this. I actually cackled when I received the following text from her:
the forest ground be like
and that truly is the best description of this book I can give you. 😅
Wow. This was nothing like the dark romances I usually read. It felt like a full-on slasher movie with steamy unhinged twists I couldn’t look away from. From the very first chapter I thought there was no way I’d end up rooting for a heartless killer who brutally murders people on camera just for fun, and yet somehow I did.
The story was fast paced, shocking, and disturbingly addictive. I read it from start to finish in one sitting because I just had to know how far it would go. It is brutal, graphic, and definitely not for everyone, but if you love dark boundary pushing romance with a horror edge, this one will keep you glued to the pages.
If you had told me I would enjoy a romance like this, I would have said no way, but here we are!
Melissa and Dana have done it again with Stream & Scream. Definitely read the triggers before diving in, as it’s pretty dark and gory!
15 social media influencers willingly sign up to be contestants on a survival reality game show in hopes of winning half a million dollars, but they have no idea how real it is. With most of them only being interested in their follower count and their camera appearance, Olivia is the outlier who is immediately noticed by The Hunter.
I’m not sure what it says about me that I was so sucked into this book and finished in a single sitting, but also not sure I care. 🤷♀️ but I definitely recommend if you’re into dark romance that borders on horror.
I love everything Melissa and Dana cowrite! They always work so well together and both of their writing styles are so similar so everything flows perfectly. I loved the Hunger Games esc vibe that this gave off. The chase, everyone in survival mode, the live streaming aspect. I absolutely devoured this and I will probably do a reread in the future because it was just so amazing!
1st star- because the whole plot of the book sounded amazing. A reality tv show but they are truly getting hunted? LOVED the idea
2nd star - because I liked Olivia's POV and when the action / hunting was happening it was intriguing and sucked you in
.5 star - because I owe it to myself for finishing.
First, I want to say I send no hate to the authors or the readers! If you enjoyed this book, I love that for you! I love seeing people enjoy books that just were not for me!
But the metaphors in this book.. honestly were burning me out. There were sometimes 2 or 3 in a paragraph and it just became too much the further I got in the book and some others I had to reread a few times.
Slightly disappointed because I feel this had SOOO much potential and I love the thought of the story line.
Again, if you enjoyed this book I am truly happy for you. I however would consider it more on the slightly painful side.
Yall! This is a dark version of the hunger games but for influencers. They take a bunch of influencers and drop them in a forest and says who ever stays “alive” till Monday gets the money. Now the catch is this Hunter isn’t taking prisoners. That is until he sees her get off the bus and instantly knows this is a new game now
This book was so dang addicting!!! I started it last night but work was crazy so I had to put it down, but I could not stop reading today and loved every minute of it. I loved the instant obsession Jax developed over Olivia and seeing him trying to do his job, but also obsess over her was perfect. Olivia joined this show thinking she would survive until the end and be rewarded money to pay her bills, but what she got instead was entirely better than she expected. Jax was unhinged when it came to protecting Olivia and seeing the final better to get her was absolutely lethal and nerve breaking!!! So happy they got out together!!!
Melissa & Dana, babes, y’all did not have to go that hard. I mean this book was so damn delicious, like every page was color coded with highlights, doodles and notes. Every time this duo drops a book I’m back on my knees begging for more and here I am again… please tell me there is gonna be more after that ending. I’ll be a good girl I promise.
Alright, let me take a break from begging and give the people what they want, a review right?! Imagine a setting of a twist on Survivor meets Friday the 13th (because bodies be dropping). 15 contestants, one livestream “game”, ? Survivors. No phones, no help or assistance, and you must make it to the safe zone without being caught by our hunter. The catch: welll that’s for him to know and you too find out babe.
Jax is a man after my own heart, who doesn’t love a man who gives you a nickname?! Not me, that’s for damn sure. I mean I see no red flags (must be my prescription). Our masked hunter, Jax, is quite the voyeur, I mean sure he’s obsessed, unhinged, bloodthirsty, and possessive but doesn’t it make you swoon.
Liv I clicked with from the start, she’s a baddie, asks the right questions and is far more intelligent than the other contestants around her. A bit of a strategist, she watches, adapts, and plays to win. It’s a 1:1 game for her and that predator/prey dynamic HAD ME SAT. That chemistry was kindling flames throughout the book.
Fast-paced, thrilling, blood-soaked and brutal. This book had me at the edge of my seat and craving more. As an added bonus we are gifted with a spicy forest chase scene, a level of gore that is perfection, and all the degradation you could hope for.
➢ ᠻⅈꪀꪖꪶ 𝕥ꫝꪮꪊᧁꫝ𝕥𝘴: As always Melissa & Dana NEVER disappoint. Who doesn’t love an unhinged masked man… because I’ve never met one that didn’t make me feral. If I haven’t convinced you already, come over to the dark side where girls loved getting chased before they’re claimed. Immediately add to your TBR.
*I received an ARC and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review. Receiving an ARC did not affect my opinion of this book.
Because girls like her? They don't fall apart easily. They fracture. Sharp. Loud. Beautiful.
I devoured this book in a day; I was even trying to take it slow and draw things out! I don't even know where to begin, but I need more of The Hunter and Olivia. The entire premise of this book was really interesting, and I couldn't wait to start it. And once I did, it did NOT disappoint me.😩
🔪The Hunter/Jaxen: he's war-hardened, morally black, and oh so ready to slash anything and anyone in his way. I loved how blood thirsty he was and the way the authors described him was *chefs kiss!* He was efficient, quiet, made from shadow—everything that would warrant this man having done this before and being good at it. But my favorite little piece?
🩸Oliva: she's a tattooed witchy influencer who has a love for the beautiful and the macabre. A woman after my own heart, honestly. To combat her student debt and medical bills, she signs up to survive a weekend in the forest while being hunted. She, among the others, think it's fake—a ruse to up all the influencers followers and engagement. But it quickly becomes apparent that they're wrong. Olivia might be fearful, but she's smart, agile, and ready to fight whatever she may meet within the trees.
Jaxen and Olivia's dynamic was hot and rough and had me drooling while I simultaneously clutched my pearls in fear. If you're looking for a book that embodies scaroused, look no further.
Some of my favorite quotes:
If she gets close enough, I'll even hear that pretty little heart of hers flutter like a rabbit in a snare.
They said I snapped. Maybe I did. Or maybe I evolved.
...to break the silence, to tear through the brush and cage her to the forest floor. To whisper against that pretty throat that the monster she's been fearing isn't just real...he's obsessed.
They have no idea my nightmares are about wanting to get caught. Maybe that's why he spared me. Maybe predators recognize their own kind.
She thinks she disappeared into the dark. She doesn't know the dark answers to me.
"I'll kill every f*cking thing in this forest before I let anyone touch you."
I CAN READ DANA LEE ANNS & MELISSA MCSHERRYS BOOKS FOREVAAAAA. My most anticipated read of the year eve sine they announced it. I DEVOURED IT! think of squid games but in the forest & influencer contestants minus Olivia whose our baddie FMC and there’s a HOT MF MILITARY DADDY WHOSE CALLED THE HUNTER HUNTING YOU DOWN AND UNALIVING YOU ONE BY ONE.
This book was so hot please I up every scene I loved Olivia’s back story why she was there to win the prize money to start over and then our hot mmc “THE HUNTER” Jaxen. IT WAS BRUTAL HOT AND HORROR SUPER FAST BUT THRILLING
All these influencers are thinking oh yeah we’re going to win this game and it’s fake Olivia’s intelligent which I love sm she’s like are yall dumb? Don’t answer that beef cakes. I LOVED HOW JAXEN WAS UNALIVING THE OTHER CONTESTANTS BUT NOT HIS CLICK BAIT BBY PLS. SMASH.
You can tell Melissa wrote that first non con scene had me like GABY BAD GIRL YOU SHOULDNT LIKE THIS BUT I DO IM SORRY YOU WILL TOO.
HE HAS A CONTESTANT GIVE HIM A BJ AWAY FROM THIS CLICK BAIT
“ɴᴏ, ʙɪᴛᴄʜ,” ɪ ᴍᴜʀᴍᴜʀ, ᴠᴏɪᴄᴇ ʟᴏᴡ ᴀɴᴅ ꜰɪɴᴀʟ. “ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴡᴀꜱ ꜰᴏʀ ᴍᴇ.” AND THEN OOOPSIES
OLIVIA FINDS OUT WHAT HES DOING AND WHOSE HUNTING HER AND THE GAMES FINALLY START ITS A CAT AND MOUSE GAME THATS LIKE A THRILLER but so hot when they finally do the dirty and I mean the dirty this man does not care he’s PITCH MF BLACK THERES NO COLORS HERE BBY GIRL but we love it. But don’t twist his obsession and think oh he’s just obsessed with her no HE WILL BURN THE MF GAME DOWN FOR HER TYPE VIBE. Ugh the way I ate it up I ate them up JAXEN IS MY FAVORITE!
As soon as I saw ARC sign ups for Stream & Scream, I RAN. I knew I was going to devour this book and I absolutely did.
This was addictive, fast paced and impossible to put down. It gave me Hunger Games, The Purge, and even a little I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here energy, all wrapped into one deadly, binge worthy ride. The main characters were written so well, and Melissa & Dana's writing blended seamlessly. Their style made it so easy to dive in and actually feel like i was inside the tv show itself.
Now... let's talk about Jaxen, our hunter. Holy. Moly. This man had two obsessions: blood and Olivia. The moment he saw her, it was instant fixation and suddenly his hunt got 10x more Exciting (and maybe a little more complicated, lol).
Olivia, on the other hand, didn't sign up for fame, she signed up out of pure necessity. She needed the reward. She has bills to pay. she was standing on business. But she quickly realised she had signed up for way more than she bargained for... especially once Jaxen's attention locked onto her.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 5 Star Rating Multi First Person POV (Olivia & Jaxen) Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
🖤 𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀 🖤 “Run for me, little clickbait.”
This is a spicy survivalist dark romance that keeps you on your toes throughout the pages. The overall cat-and-mouse plot has you captivated on how different these talented authors take a grip-taking story and add elements of shock and spice that have you rooting for the bad guy. The pacing is strong. The characters are well-written that you invest your time in both the protagonist and antagonist with equal emotion. The background characters do their best job remaining in the background to give both of these characters more time in the spotlight.
Spoilers ahead… Olivia has signed up with a group of other contestants to star in a cyber show where they will have to hide and escape the ‘hunter’ in order to win a large sum of cash. But what they don’t know is that the cameras are rolling and the deaths are real. The Hunter is a headstrong and murderous being with sexual intentions. All for the sake of viewers. But when he sets his sights on Olivia, he decides that he wants her for himself. And nobody will stop him from getting what he wants.
This book has everything. From helpless and unknowing victims of a reality tv show. To a masked hunter with an insatiable taste of getting off on others’ fear. To a twist ending you won’t see coming but will drive into your heartstrings. These two take a fun and thrilling plot and added some serious smut into the mix for the perfect combination to sit down and read for the ongoing spooky season. I’m an avid reader of both authors so going into this, I already knew this was going to be one to add to my faves for the year.
If you’re looking for a survivalist horror novel set on a cyber reality show filmed through a lens on their watches while a smutty masked hunter takes them down one by one while staking his claim on a single woman, this is the book you should pick up next. An absolute thrilling page-turner.
