How can you fall in love when you don’t believe in it?

Rain Bardot doesn’t date. He doesn’t do relationships. They never work out so why waste time? The best part is what happens in the bedroom. Besides, even if love is real he wouldn’t have room for it. He’s too busy trying to evade his unstable mother and her greasy boyfriend, but too broke to move out despite his serving job at The Pointe.

Mason Hart can’t escape his bullies. Years of trauma at the hands of family and classmates has left him with a strong dislike for people, which holds him back as a photographer and a human being. However, after a chance meeting, Rain’s stormy beauty captivates and inspires Mason, and when he’s given a spot in a dream exhibition he asks Rain to be his subject, offering him the sanctuary he needs.

With each steamy modeling session they grow closer, intrigued and confused by unexpected feelings, but when disaster strikes and trust hangs in the balance can they find their way to love or will their bond dissolve under the weight of their pasts?

Obsessed is the 90K third book in The Pointe of Love series. It has an age-gap, photographer/muse romance with hurt/comfort, sneaky pictures, grumpy/horny, found family, photography lessons, the cutest kitten ever, enough heat to power a sauna, and an HEA with no cliffhangers.

All books in The Pointe of Love series can be read as standalones, as they each follow a different couple, but they’re much more fun when read together.

“Do you want to sleep at my place.” Rain’s smile struck Mason across the face, leaving him reeling. “I thought you’d never ask.”

Awww I really loved Mason and Rain’s story. Lots of sweet moments and a touch of angst seems to be Sonia Blue’s formula and I gotta say, I enjoyed it even more in this installment.

“You know what?” Daintily wiping the corners of his mouth, he stared up at Mason with a wicked smirk. “I think I’m going to like this modeling job.”

I loved the chemistry between the characters — introvert vs extrovert, opposites attract, hurt/comfort, the silent grump photographer and his charismatic but hurt muse.

And I was really enjoying everything about this and I didn’t even mind the family drama because it still fit and gave more depth to the characters. The extra third-act drama llama however, felt too extra for me.
BUT I’m nitpicking probably, and other than that Obsessed was a sweet read and I’m looking forward to see more men falling in love at The Pointe.
Of course, bonus points for Mouse, the cutest kitty baby.

“Because I’m obsessed with you too.”

I said this in the last review and I will say it again: these books and this author deserves more attention and I don't know why they don't get it.

This was possibly my favorite of the series, I simply adored this.

It took me a second to remember Rain and Mason from the previous book, but once I did I was so excited to continue reading this.

Rain is almost unearthly beautiful. Mason thinks of him as an elvin prince, even. Except he's never had a princely life.

Growing up with an equally gorgeous mother but who is an awful mother, an awful person, except for a 10 year period where she was dating a great guy, Tristan, all her other boyfriends were awful pedophilic predators, and Rain had to deal with SA from them.

It was heartbreaking to learn this, and just how young Rain was when it started. And his mother, Eve, never did anything to protect him from her boyfriends. She was pretty much evil, this vapid, self absorbed, self serving bitch with no remorse and no redeeming qualities.

Now 20 at the start of this, Tristan and Eve are now over and he has to go live his life for himself now, having stayed for years at this point for Rain. He's essentially the father he never had, the parent he never had, but still, Rain is an adult now and Tristan deserves to live his life.

Left alone with his mother and her new greasy boyfriend who creeps on Rain all the time, Rain is determined to get out of living with them, except he just needs the money for it.

Now working at The Pointe as a waiter, that is where Rain truly starts to run into Mason, who is a photographer who does weddings to make money, even if it isn't where his true passion in photography lies.

There's a connection between the two an intense connection, but it takes some time for things to get going between them, as Mason is a bit taciturn and awkward, and doesn't say a lot, and Rain is determined to not be in a relationship, fucking whoever, whenever he can.

But when Rain finally runs away from his mother and her boyfriend, he starts staying at The Pointe in the storage room, and wanders around on the weekends when the place is closed. On one such weekend, he and Mason run into each other in the woods, and it comes out that Rain doesn't have a real place to stay, and so Mason offers a room at his house.

Mason has already become a bit obsessed with Rain (and vice verse lbr) and he even has a bit of a shrine of all the pictures he's taken (except for one time, Rain knows about them all though) to Rain in his dark room in his house. Except Rain doesn't know about the shrine...

And the whole thing might seem creepy and fucked up, and it is a bit. Kind of Jonathan from Stranger Things-eque.

Some of you guys might see it as too creepy or too far, and I think in real life it would be. But we get to know Mason, and he isn't a creepy just because he takes pictures. He crosses the line once with Rain (and is stupid to not take the shrine down or tell Rain about it until it is too late, of course!) but he never does again.

Rain is otherwise fully aware of every picture and consents to it and even loves it.

And when, after Rain is living with him, Mason asks him to be his model/subject for an exhibition coming up a few months from then, and Rain agrees.

As they live together and as Rain models for Mason, they become closer and closer, falling in love.

The chemistry was amazing as well, with the sex being on point. Mason had had sex before but he kind of did it just to try it, never because he was into it. But he's into it with Rain, and the intensity when they're together is so so good!

On Mason's end, he has his asshole family who treat him horribly trying to contest the will where his grandmother gave him her big home to keep. With an ineffectual lawyer, it causes things to be dragged out for a few years and his family to be horribly to Mason because of it.

But together Rain and Mason help each other out and show each other love they've never gotten or rarely gotten from anyone else. They become each other's home, as well as the adorable kitten that Rain finds, Mouse. I loved that she was almost a third MC, being adorable and loved by these two men and loving them both in return. She was so so precious!

I definitely, HIGHLY recommend this. I feel more people should be reading this series, it's just so good! And Mason and Rain were so so good together! Their journey might have not been *as* angsty as the first two, but it was still plenty angsty. What Rain went through, as I said, was heartbreaking. But seeing these two able to heal not only through their love for each other but working for better for themselves, was wonderful to see.

I cannot wait for Tristan and Jax's story next, I loved Tristan in this, he seemed so wonderful and I bet his calming, kind and sweet presence will be wonderful for the more broody Jax.

Until then! 😍

The book kicks off with a raw, raunchy initial hookup that quickly turns into a steady, comforting partnership. Mason is a photographer with massive walls up, living with severe social anxiety from years of horrific school bullying and family abuse. Rain is a vibrant but complex soul who survived an unstable home life with a toxic, negligent mother. When Rain's safety is threatened by his mother’s skeevy new boyfriend, Gage, he camps out at his workplace until Mason steps in and offers him an empty room. Mason begins using Rain as his photography muse, creating a space of heavy physical tension and deep vulnerability where both men slowly learn to drop their guards and heal together.

I loved every single part of this book! The character dynamics are incredibly strong, and the writing handles difficult subjects like trauma, bullying, and childhood abuse with absolute care. I felt a deep kinship to Mason. While society often downplays childhood bullying, this captures how deeply it can scar a person, leaving deep psychological wounds and a total distrust of outsiders. His journey is slow and realistic; he doesn't magically get better overnight. I loved that Mason doesn't just rely on Rain to "fix" him, but treats Rain's love as motivation to actively choose his own recovery.

Watching the gentle way Rain patiently chips away at Mason's walls was utterly beautiful. The photography modeling sessions are so yummy—the sexual tension between them is massive. I absolutely ate up the classic "obsessiveness" when Mason builds a dedicated photo wall of Rain in his darkroom; it felt intensely romantic, passionate, and protective rather than malicious! Rain knew Mason took candid shots of him while they worked at The Pointe wedding venue, but he wasn't aware he’d taken quite so many intimate ones. Rain is such an endearing ball of sunshine, but he’s realistically flawed too. He can be stubborn and unfair during arguments—holding Mason's past missteps over his head while being slow to apologize for his own codependent habits. His home life broke my heart. You could truly feel the emotional weight of him losing Tristan—the only man who acted as a real, supportive father figure to him for ten years. I completely fell in love with Tristan's gentle, protective character and cannot wait for his own book with Jax; he deserves love so much!

When Rain flees from Gage and frantically tries to barricade his door with a dresser because his bed has under-storage, I wanted to cry for him. But the way Mason handles his panic is amazing; he has such a gentle soul. If I had to note one minor sad point, the initial physical relationship kicks off in a very raunchy, high-heat manner. This felt slightly contradictory to the deeply guarded, socially anxious traits Mason is supposed to have. However, it was still very yummy to read their connection!

The plot takes its time to let them build genuine trust, and the conflict resolution doesn't rely on toxic miscommunication, which I thought was excellent. I celebrated loudly when Mason finally stood up to his greedy family members trying to steal his late grandmother's house, and legally turned the property into a safe haven with the help of his new intimidating legal rep. Seeing him find his confidence and get his own perfect, cathartic form of vengeance against his lifelong bullies without having to face them directly was so perfect. The wedding venue, The Pointe, functions as a gorgeous found family support network, and seeing familiar faces from Addicted and Ravenous cheering them on from the sidelines was such a heartwarming highlight. I absolutely loved Rain choosing himself over his toxic family by cutting ties with his mother. This wonderful book is a "sexy but steady" triumph that navigates dark themes with immense care, providing a deeply satisfying, hard-earned Happily Ever After that I thoroughly enjoyed!

This book sucked me in and kept me hooked. I could not get enough. Rain was easy to love. Mason was easy to understand. Mouse was the star of the show! There were a lot of line, especially in the start of the book, that really hit home for me. This is not a light hearted book by any means, but the connection between the main characters keeps your eye on the light at the end of the tunnel. This is the second book that I have read by this author and this one left me excited for more. The next couple sounds right up my alley! I cannot wait to continue this series.

The Pointe of Love series is incredible as always, and Obsessed does not disappoint. Rain and Mason are adorable and really give such a compelling plot and story.

The representations of mental health and trauma recovery in this story are there and on point. The difference between what you see on the surface and what goes on behind closed doors is so stark, and then, of course, breaking down walls.

Rain and Mason have spice, they have heartbreak, they have an absolutely adorable cat. There's also a different vibe than Addicted or Ravenous that brings a different depth to the characters. I personally love the spice because we do kick it up a notch with this one, and nobody disappoints.

Fall in love with Rain and Mason, 14 May, while they try to figure out what love is in and out of the dark room.

This one felt a bit lighter than the other three (though, don't get me wrong, it still touches on some really serious topics!) This one has been my favourite of the series thus far because it hurt my heart in the first two to see one of the main characters actively harming themselves...though depressing that in this one it's other people trying to harm the MCs. Mason is such an odd duck character, but I find him weirdly compelling. Rain's childhood and home situation broke my heart and I just wanted nothing but happiness for him. I gotta say though...I'm kind of pissed at Tristan for leaving Rain like he did...though, the ages seemed a little weird. I couldn't quite pin down how old Rain was in relation to Mason, in relation to Gage, in relation to Rain's mother...anyway, not important! I loved the story.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

We have the story of Mason and Rain. Mason is a photographer who first sees Rain while shooting a wedding at the wedding hall. Rain got the job as a waiter from being best friends with Ollie’s brother Tommy. Rain lives with his mother and her current boyfriend. Mason did live with Ollie until Ollie moved out in the second book of the series. Mason’s grandmother left him the house and his parents and brother are fighting him over ownership. They are both dealing with very toxic situations.

Mason is a loner and the people at the wedding hall think he’s a bit strange. He’s just extremely introverted. His only real friend was his grandmother. Rain notices him at one of the weddings and decides he’s going to sleep with him. Rain doesn’t do relationships or romance. He grew up with him mother jumping from man to man. He ended up doing the same.

Rain needs to find a place to stay after having a huge blowout with his mother’s latest boyfriend Gage. Mason offers him a place to stay in exchange for modeling for him. Rain is described as elfin and ethereal by Mason. He becomes obsessed with Rain to the point of setting up a “shrine” in his dark room. It’s not as creepy as it sounds. Mason doesn’t see Rain as a real person at first. Rain becomes Mason’s muse. It’s a common trope that we’ve seen in dozens of other books. However, Mason doesn’t cross the line into a dangerous obsession. I was actually wondering if that might happen, but Mason is so introverted and intrigued by Rain who comes across as a strong person when in fact he’s more vulnerable and damaged than any character so far.

They end up sleeping together, but they’re both quick to say they’re not in a relationship, even though they are. Rain’s mother and Gage confront him in the middle of a wedding reception. Mason is there and begins to step in when he realizes Gage is his old high school bully. He freezes and Rain takes it the wrong way.

Rain hides in the office of the owner while Mason is still working the reception. One of the specialties of the venue is Bananas Foster. They make a big production out of lighting the bananas after they’re soaked in rum. This time, it didn’t go off as planned.

The venue catches on fire, and no one knows where Rain is. Everyone has evacuated by this time. Rain doesn’t know until it’s too late. The owner smokes and disconnected the sprinklers in his office. He has to jump out the window because the building is filled with smoke and it’s too dangerous for anyone to go in.

A few days pass and Rain feels bad about everything. He goes into Mason’s dark room to wait for him and begins poking around. He discovers the “shrine”. He freaks because there’s a picture of him as part of a three-way at the venue. Rain, one of the other waiters and his boyfriend got busy in the storage room. Mason only took a picture of his face. This was a very odd plot point to include. Mason crossed a huge boundary, but the whole situation wasn’t good for anyone involved. Rain even realizes that the whole situation was semi-public. Anyone could have walked in. It just happened to be Mason.

Rain leaves and Mason is just a mess. He’s dealing with his family trying to steal his grandmother’s house out from under him, finding a new attorney to help him, and getting ready for a huge exhibition of his work. Mentally, he’s a mess. He goes through some of the stuff Rain left behind to try and figure out where he might be. He finds a SD card from a hidden camera Rain had set up in his bedroom while still living at Gage’s. Gage is out on parole and Mason finds evidence that sends him back to jail.

Rain has been staying with one of his mother’s ex-boyfriends, Tristan. Tristan was the closest Rain ever had to a father. Tristan convinces him to go no contact with his mother after she texts him that Gage was arrested and sent back to prison. The woman is simply unhinged. It’s her obsessions that are the truly dangerous ones.

Rain and others from the venue show up at Mason’s exhibition. It’s a hit and everyone loves the photos. They reconcile and we eventually get our happy ending. Mason is in demand as a photographer and Rain is more than just his muse. They become a real team.

As stated, Rain never did relationships or romances. His mother allowed him to be abused by her various boyfriends. She never believed him and it really screwed with his head. Mason only had his grandmother because his family was also abusive.

The spicy times are frequent but really don’t add much to the story. It’s more of a story of two men who find a safe haven in each other. Mason is able to break out of his shell with Rain. Rain is able to find that one person whom he can trust. It does work even though it’s really messy at times.

Mason and Rain!

In the third installment of the Pointe series, we focus on Rain and Mason, the perfect opposites-attract duo. Rain's mom has a boyfriend who is obsessed with Rain, who wants to catch him unaware to hurt and abuse him, so he finds himself a new place to stay. The way Rain uses his looks to navigate the world and find security felt realistic and unsettling because no one should have to go through this. Everyone deserves to be safe at home, and my heart hurt for Rain with his negligent mother and the disgusting Gage.

Mason steps in and saves the day, but he is obsessed with Rain and his beauty as well! Rain is the face that launched a thousand ships! 🤭

There is a stark contrast between Gage (mother's boyfriend) and Mason's obsession with Rain, though. While Gage seeks to destroy and own Rain, Mason is captivated by Rain's beauty, and it serves as his muse. Mason doesn't expect anything from Rain, provides safety, and grows to love Rain for who he is, flaws, and all. Add to all of this an adorable kitten found in a dumpster named Mouse, and you have a recipe for an intriguing layered romance that gives you all the feels!

All of Sonia Blue's pairings are written with such a thoughtful lens into the psychological. In this book, we have Mason's obsession, his manipulative money grubbing "family," Rain's survival instincts, his elfish allure, and his terrible "family," which all kept me invested. The effect that Mason's obsession with Rain has on their romance was made me worry, but love is stronger than obsession, and Sonia shows us this.

Although Mason and Rain are vastly different personality wise, they have this instantaneous pull towards each other. They also have terrible parents. 😭

"Rain could see the guarded child inside of Mason, and he more than understood. Apparently, they both had terrible parents. "

They provide love and security to each other, and that was heart-warming to read. It struck a chord with me because when I think of love, I want warmth, safety, and kindness. These are the things Mason and Rain bring to each other's lives. 🥰

"Mason's presence brought relief, as if he were a beacon of safety, and Rain didn't realize how much he needed Mason beside him to lean on until this very moment."

Revisiting the other pairings from the other books was fun as well. If you love mm contemporary romance, opposites attract, psychologically compelling writing, and spicy love scenes read this book!

“That’s creepy”, “I think it’s hot” Isn’t that all of us summarized!? Period! lol Love that Rain doesn’t shy away from being a ho-bag and a half! LOL! I say that with the deepest affection! He’s all the more likeable. (It’s silly and fun until we get to understand his reasons for doing so) I feel like he focused on Mason maybe cause he didn’t really show any interest in him apart from the candid photos. I could fill paragraphs with Rain’s saying. “Filled like a cream puff”. My gosh, each one got a hearty laugh!

We think of Mason as a decoration, an idle accompaniment. But when we get to his chapter, Jesus Christ! You have actual deep feelings, dude? Like, strong and hardcore! And he actually does care! About the people around him, the clients he photographs. He just doesn’t know how to show it. He’s like a duck on a pond. He looks calm, unaffected, but underneath he’s going a mile a minute. I love that his Gran is his conscience so he still has her with him, bringing in some of her warmth.

This is probably one of the hardest of the books of the series to get through, not because it’s a bad read or boring or anything like that. It’s still beautiful writing. It has these deeper, more complicated emotions at play that tug on you. You feel ALOT in this book. Emotions that I didn't expect to feel in the series. When I say it is heartbreaking, I mean it. It shows that honestly, sometimes there’s no wrong or right, it’s just 2 people that have 2 personalities, 2 different traumas that cause them to act out and react in certain ways. This one got my heart rate pumping, and not in a good, happy-time way. It was more gritty and raw. It slices into you. Rain can detach his emotions when needed. You know he developed it to survive his mother and the abuse she let into the house. Serving up her child like a silver platter to the brutality of the world.

The word here is PERSEVERANCE. To persevere not only for love, but for life. That there will be light after the dark, sun after it pours, that you will reach sanctuary and find the needed courage to pull through, to hang on. To persevere not only to survive, but to live.

Ms Chatham, still fierce and “Cold fire”. Ollie, still a blinding light, Liam, like he could be anything other than adorable. Love that the family keeps getting bigger and bigger. It’s so organically written. I really cannot stop recommending this series!

“He felt a tug in his chest and his brain exploded into light”
“You are my muse and my love. I’m obsessed with you” 🥹

MY OPINION: This was another very deep story about trauma by Sonia Blue. Both of these men have trauma and have dealt with it differently. I genuinely enjoyed the book; if you read the other two, you will certainly find this fits. The writing style is such that you have a lot of little detailed bits making the entire story, yet it is easy to follow.

I think I would call this a slow-burn as far as the love story, but the spice starts early on. There are a few components that are enough to make you wonder a little bit, and you might want to be aware of them. Mason does have a bit of a stalker vibe, which is brushed off as him being a muse. I am not sure how I feel about this, and there are some moments that make you question if this relationship is a good idea.

I found myself hating Rain’s mother and cheered when she was finally not an issue. It felt odd that she had so much control and was still so demanding of him returning home, even though he was an adult. I also never got a really complete picture of the ages of these two people. I feel like Rain is maybe 20? Mason 35? Hard to say, and of course, I could have missed it. There is also a lot of terrible past that we relive with Rain; it is a rough story, and seeing him start to heal is a great thing.

Everything is built on Rain having trauma and trauma bonds to Mason. Ultimately, I feel it becomes more of two people finding their person. The addition of the kitten is fun, and there are a lot of genuine moments between the two main characters. It’s a good story, and I liked both of these guys a lot. I ended up fully wanting them to find their HEA.

One of the things I like in a series is that you see and interact with previous characters. You get a glimpse at whatever is happening with them now. This also has a lot of the story revolving around the wedding hall and the people who work with and for them. When a series revolves around one place, allowing you to be invested in the location or even some of the side characters, is one of my favorite things. This book has plenty of action around the event hall that is The Pointe.

I enjoyed Obsessed as much as the other two, I look forward ot book four. These MCs went through a lot and still do, but find their forever.

NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!💕🎞️😈

I love this series by how flaws are depicted beautifully in every viewpoint of the characters!

Now we get a deeper insight to the reclusive photographer ex landlord of Ollie- Mason Hart and his elfin prince- Rain Bardot… Ollie’s brother Tommie’s best friend…

Was it Kismet, fate or coincidence that lead Mason to see his muse, his inspiration- his elfin prince-Rain four times in his life to photograph with more passion and insight?… maybe even more soul…?

Was it just a crush of a horny little devil called Rain Bardot who waiters at The Point, on a mysterious introverted events photographer who takes photos of Rain when he thinks he’s not looking or was it more?…

We get a deeper insight into Rain’s heart wrenching toxic family life and why he does not do relationships- only hookups until Mason… and of course his cute little kitten Mouse how he becomes Mason’s subject and inspiration for a photography exhibition and how close they grow with a close intimate bond formed out of mutual understanding and … fixation…

I loved how different obsessions were showcased in this story to depict the difference between their obsession with each other and other’s obsession with them and how a sweet love was built out of a different kind of captivation…

Their chemistry was very intense with a grumpy introvert who flourishes and exceeds all his elfin prince’s expectations in and out of the bedroom with steamy encounters throughout their time together!

I loved the twists and turns in their journey to acceptance, overcoming your fears, overcoming the childhood trauma of repressed SA and finding a home, found family and a true abiding love with a mutual passionate love for photography!

Their character growth was on point with the storyline by how they helped themselves first and then each other with a found family support that was inspiring and heartwarming!

Of course Mouse stole the show- what a diva just like her favourite person- Rain…. who fixated on Mason!

The next book will be about two new interesting inter connecting characters at the newly renovated The Point!

I voluntarily received an ARC from GRR for an honest non biased review.

ARC Review

They were perfect!

Rain and Mason stole my heart literally! Their character development was to die for and slowly seeing them work on themselves and taking control of their life was amazing.

Rain, my sweet broken boy who never had a chance to feel safe. Having shitty parents can do a big number on you, and I am glad Rain was able to get away from his shitty mother and his slimy boyfriend, and breaking off ties completely was perfect. It really broke my heart to see Rain realising and acknowledging that he was sexually abused, it really is difficult when you brain tries to shield you from the trauma of it all, but acknowledging it really helps with healing.I am proud of all survivors, you didn't deserve any of that. Also, you could see Rain actually turn into a big ball of sunshine as he processed and faced his trauma. Rain really changed so much from the beginning and I loved that change.

Mason, the boy who was always bullied. People tend to downplay the effects of bullying on children but this author captured it perfectly. Bullying can ruin your life and follow you through to adulthood, so bullying shouldn't be condoned in any way at all. I was very glad when he came to terms with himself and started working on his social skills, finally wriggling his way out of the claws of his lifelong bullies. It was amazing to see.

With their dynamics, they pretty much compliment each other so well. They motivated each other and help each other better themselves it was beautiful see, even though it started pretty much raunchy. I also liked that they took accountability for most of their actions and apologizing when necessary, it really made me fall in love. They were really eachother's support.

The found family in this book too added to my enjoyment, they were so fierce and protective. I love them. Mouse was the emotional support cat they both needed. She is such a diva!

This is the first book I am reading from this author and I think I am pretty much in love with them. If you are big on character development and sexy but steady plots this book is definitely for you!

I had the privilege to ARC this story, so let’s get into it.

Okay, this book was actually cute. The love story between Rain and Mason was so heartfelt and warm and fuzzy. I loved how you actually SAW their changes and their journey in becoming comfortable with one another and growing together.

Rain’s story was so sad and in some ways, he was so sheltered by not knowing what he actually endured was sexual abuse. I loved how Mason pointed this out and was there for him throughout his wholeeeeeee healing journey because “sex is not a condition. We do it if and when you’re ready. I’m not in love with you because of orgasms.” A WHOLE KING!

Mason, our little photographer introvert. His past is so sad because it’s bullies one after the other. People think bullying doesn’t have any mental effects but I love how Sonia showed otherwise. Also, love the spin on “bullies.” Bc it’s not always strangers, most of the time it’s people you know or family. Watching Mason find his voice and become this semi confident person who puts himself out there was so great to watch. I was rooting for him the whole way!

Though I enjoyed the overall book, I also felt like some places dragged. There were scenes in here that didn’t need to be there because it felt like “filler words or filler scenes.” Idk if maybe I felt that way because this is an interconnected standalone series so a lot of the people mentioned were probably cameos from the other 2 books, but regardless, I feel like it didn’t add to the book. It felt chaotic at times and really hard to follow. I also cannot stand the miscommunication trope and it’s something that was used at least twice in here and made my head hurt. For someone who is as confident and outspoken as Rain, I was disappointed it came from him both times.

Overall this book was a cute, cozy ride. Their love story was cute and the overall vibes of the book were nice.

Obsessed by Sonia Blue pulled me in from page one and didn’t let go. Rain and Mason’s story is intense, tender, and absolutely captivating. Rain is ethereal and resilient, shaped by a traumatic past that includes childhood abuse and an emotionally absent, manipulative mother. Mason is quiet, a little awkward, and deeply drawn to Rain in ways he doesn’t entirely understand—but can't ignore.

What could’ve easily felt too dark or creepy (Mason’s “shrine” of photos, for example) is handled with surprising sensitivity. It walks a razor’s edge, but it works because of the emotional transparency and care between the characters. Mason may be obsessed, but it's paired with respect and growing trust—especially as Rain comes to feel safe and seen in ways he never has before.

Their chemistry is electric, the intimacy is intense, and the sex? Steamy, emotional, and deeply affirming. Rain's guarded, emotionally complex journey is balanced by Mason’s steady presence, even with the weight of his own family trauma. Together, they create a new kind of home—along with Mouse, the adorable kitten who nearly steals the show.

This book is heavy at times—Sonia Blue doesn't shy away from hard topics—but the core of Obsessed is love, survival, and healing. The bond between Rain and Mason is both fragile and fierce, and watching them navigate trust, consent, and connection is beautiful.

Content Warnings (some spoilers):

- Childhood sexual abuse (non-graphic, off-page)
- Bullying, homophobia
- Unhoused MC
- Voyeurism, semi-public sex
- Intense emotional themes

This might be my favourite of the series so far. I loved Rain, Mason, and Mouse—and I’m so excited for Tristan and Jax’s story next. Highly recommend if you want something emotional, erotic, and full of heart.

In exchange for an honest review i got to read the ARC version of the book Obsessed By Sonia Blue by the Author.

Rain has a hard life with living with his unstable mother so when the person he look at as his real dad decides to break of his relationship with Rains mother he is beeing left on his own with her.
Rain have a stable job at The point a wedding ceremony place where he has his found family with his co-workers so he escape there when his life at home is hard. One night at his job he meet the eyes of the wedding photographer, the shy and introverted Mason that carries heavy baggage becuse his family tries to take the house his grandmother has left for him.

Mason know that Rain is his muse and that makes him always have eyes for Rain and during their work at the wedding ceremony he sneak pictures Rain even tho Rain know he does so but tries to avoid rain when he approach him so they dance around each other during work but his feelings for Rain grows by the day.

And when Rain starts to camp at his work place becuse he feel his safety aren't good enough with his mother and her new boyfriend, he meet Mason who wanted to take pictures of the Sundown and they start to talk and from there feelings bloom between them and after a conversation Mason let's Rain stay at his home as he have a empty room available.

This is an MM Romance with a slow burning plot that takes up things like trauma, SA and bullying. But with a beautiful chemistry between the two main characters and the side characters in a love story that everyone should read. The attention to details is really good and the reader will be hooked from first page! Lastly Thank You to Sonia Blue that let me read the ARC version of the story. Highly recommend!

Review for (The Pointe of Love-3) Obsessed by Sonia Blue

Tropes-

This book does cover situations of sexual abuse and bullying of a minor.
Homophobic slur
Fire
Characters that don't have a place to live
Age gap
Hurt/comfort
Found family
Cutest cat of all time

This story is about Rain not believing in love, so how could he ever fall in love? Not for him. He is happy not dating or having relationships. If you don't allow that into your life, you won't be hurt. His life is messed up enough by his unstable mother. If that isn't enough, he wants nothing to do with her boyfriend, who is just a waste of space. If only he could find his own place so he could control who he is around or what he does. Then there is Mason, who has had a horrible life till now. He has not only had the worst family and classmates. They all bully and make his life painful and not worth living. All he wants to do is be able to take pictures. Pictures can't hurt you; they allow you to do what you want in life. When Mason sees Rain for the first time he see's what the camera does. The beauty of this man is out of this world. Rain has brought him the want of a photographer. He is given the chance to have an exhibit; he asks Rain to help him by allowing him to take his picture and show others the intrigue and beauty he sees. Will Mason and Rain realize that they can trust in each other when their lives have been filled with pain? I loved the flow of this story. You felt so bad for both of these men due to what they went through through the years. Will they be able to give each other what they both are so in need of? Or will they walk away due to trust issues? I need to read more of this series after reading this one for sure.

Obsessed by Sonia Blue is book 3 in The Pointe of Love series. As of now, Mason and Rain are my absolute favorite couple. Rain has a hard home life and a history of sexual abuse (definitely heed the TWs on this one). Sonia does a really great job of not going into details but making it obvious that Rain did suffer abuse from his mother’s boyfriends. When her latest boyfriend makes it clear that he will not be taking no for an answer, Rain runs away. He loves his job at the Pointe but he is not making enough to have his own place. He moves in with Mason in exchange for modeling for his upcoming art show.

Mason and Rain seem like such an odd pair, but these two fit together like the perfect puzzle pieces. Rain used sex to feel in control. With Mason, it is different. There are real and deep feelings on both sides.

I really didn’t like the break-up and felt like it was blown out of proportion. However, both of them were struggling and maybe the time apart made them realize what they needed to do in order to be in a relationship. The side characters feel like family and I love them all so much. I am looking forward to Jax and Tristan and whomever else Sonia feels like writing. This is a wonderful series that needs to be read more.

Two broken souls, two young men who've endured their own personal hells, left frightened and betrayed by those who were supposed to protect and love them. Rain and Mason navigate life by clinging to what little security they have left, each struggling to find the stability and balance they've always lacked. Mason, a shy photographer, finds solace in the large house bequeathed to him by his grandmother, where he's sheltered and almost hidden. Rain, meanwhile, works as a waiter at The Pointe, a wedding reception hall, after his stepfather Tristan's departure left him without a steady source of protection and affection.

When these two frightened souls collide, they find in each other the love, acceptance, and security they've sought their entire lives. Their journey together won't be easy, but as they face obstacles, they'll learn to recognize their worth, rely on each other, and defend themselves against toxic people. With the help of genuine friends, coworkers who become family, and an adorable kitten, Mason and Rain will distinguish between obsession and the all-consuming love that binds them.
The author handles potentially difficult material with a delicate touch, skillfully balancing angst, sweet moments, and humorous scenes with spicy, exciting moments. This book is the third installment in The Pointe of Love series.

This book has tropes of extrovert/introvert, and grumpy sunshine characters. However, the book deals with some serious topics such as bullying and childhood sexual abuse. Rain Bardot doesn't do relationships or love and flits from man to man. He has a job at The Pointe as a server. He loves his job since it gets him out of his unstable mother's creepy boyfriend's house. Mason Hart is a photographer and photograph's weddings to make ends meet while waiting for his big break. He sees Rain at The Pointe and sneaks pictures of him thinking that he would be the perfect muse. When Rain needs a place to stay after his mother's boyfriend makes unwanted advances, Mason offers to let Rain stay at his home. Each of these men has a lot of past baggage with Mason having a history of being bullied throughout his life by his classmates and his family who want the house that Mason's grandmother left him in her will and with Rain suppressing memories of being molested when younger by his mother's boyfriends. These two MC's have to overcome their fears in order to reach their HEA. I really loved this book and both MC's. The author did a good job of showing how past trauma's can have far reaching effects.

Because his mother is not a good mother, Rain has basically spent his childhood learning how to keep himself afloat. He had a bit of a good run when she was with Tristan for 10 years but then Tristan had enough and went on his way. His mother's current guy is clearly angling to do something icky to Rain and he is fortunate that Mason, a photographer he is attracted to, offers him a place to stay and gets him away from his mother and her toxic partner. Rain and Mason are equally enthralled with one another but they are also each dealing with trauma from family drama that has an impact on their budding connection and relationship. After a hiccup and some help from their friends, they confess their love for one another. It was so sweet how considerate of one another they are as they grow their connection and as Mason teaches Rain to be a photographer. They blend their lives and profession in a way that helps them each grow and feel secure in the love that is deepening between them. Their story is in turns sad and triumphant in that from tough circumstances they emerge to find safety and security in each other and their found family.

I really loved Mason and Rain's story. Lots of sweet moments, trauma, angst and spice. Sonia Blue, I gotta say, I enjoyed it and I would recommend this story.

Rain's mom was an awful mother! All her boyfriends were pedos. Was heartbreaking to learn how young Rain was when it started. She has a boyfriend who is obsessed with Rain, who wants to hurt and abuse him. So he finds somewhere else to live essentially living in the store room where he works.

Mason is a photographer who does weddings to make money, even though he has a different idea on his passion for photography. Mason is a quiet and awkward person.

On one weekend, when Rain is wondering around, he and Mason run into each other in the woods, and it comes out that Rain doesn't have a place to stay, so Mason offers a room at his house. After Rain is living with him, Mason asks him to be his model/subject for an exhibition coming up a few months from then, and Rain agrees.

They become closer and closer, start falling for each other. I loved the chemistry between them. Being able to see them able to heal each other but working to better themselves was heartwarming. Shoutout to Mouse!

If you love mm, trauma, hurt/healing, contemporary romance, and opposites attract, then you will love this read. 4/5

Mason and Rain are the PERFECT opposites attract, Rain is the sunshine to Mason grumpy!

Mason is a introvert to his core after losing his grandma who was the only person who cared for him, and dealing with his family trying to take her house from him the last thing he expected was for his elvish prince Rain to want to be around him. Every time Mason sees Rain he can't help but take pictures of him, and okay maybe he builds an alter to him in his darkroom its out of love!

Rains protector of a step dad Tristan is moving away and in his place is his moms new skeevy boyfriend Gage, after he tries to get to Rain the first night he's there all Rain wants to do is get out and the last person he expects to help him is his moody photographer Mason.

These two were perfection the love they have for each other, and for Mouse our girl loves her boys. The way they both are willing to do anything to protect each other really is so heart warming, while they both are scared to stand up to their own family they both beautifully step up for each other!

If you love a good

Slight work place romance

One of the things I truly love about Sonia’s books is how diverse her characters are. In Obsessed, we get two broken men who have both been through so much and who slowly become each other’s source of support and comfort.

And especially in this series, the representation is incredibly diverse and thoughtfully woven into the story. The hurt/comfort element is done so well, creating emotional depth while the romance and chemistry between the characters help balance out some of the heavier moments.

Another thing Sonia excels at is her descriptions. She has a real talent for creating vivid images with her words, making it easy to become completely immersed in the story.

I was hooked from the very beginning. The story pulled me in immediately, and I found myself flying through the pages because I desperately wanted to know what would happen next for Rain and Mason. Especially Mason, who remains so mysterious at the start of the book.

Watching Rain slowly tear down the walls Mason built through years of trauma was both beautiful and heartbreaking. Honestly, all I wanted to do was give both of them a hug.

I was obsessed with this book from beginning to end. This is one of the weirdest (in the best way), most wonderful love stories ever. I love it when two idiots are in love and have no idea. The spice alone was off the charts, and the steamy photo sessions had me melting into a puddle. Rain and Mason are some of the best most fun characters I have had the pleasure of reading. Their story hit me right in the feels, and the mental health rep was spot on. It's sweet and spicy with just the right amount of angst to make your heart ache in the best way.

Tropes:
Opposites attract
Idiots in love
Grumpy + Horny
Size difference
Age-gap
Mental health rep
Hurt/Comfort
Spicy
Photographer + Muse
Steamy modeling sessions
Found Family
Dual POV

This is my first Sonia Blue book, and I already went back for the previous books in this series. Her writing is so fun and easy to read, I'm so happy to have found a new go-to author.

Thank you, GRR and Sonia Blue, for the opportunity to read this book.

I am officially obsessed with this series

As much as I loved Liam and Owen in Addicted and Ollie and Finn in Ravenous, Rain and Mason are my favourite couple so far. Jax and Tristan might give them a run for their money in Furious, the next book in the series and I can't wait to read their story.
Again, this story deals with serious subjects though it's not quite as angsty as the first two. Both Rain and Mason are suffering because of their families and it's awful to see how it's affected the quality of their lives.
I was intrigued by Mason in Ravenous. He was such an enigma and watching him coming back to life thanks to Rain, flourishing at home and work, was beautiful. Rain was such a sweetheart too, easy to love, and they both deserved their happy ever after.
I loved seeing all the familiar faces from The Pointe again. They are great characters too, and a found family that support the couples in each book.

I received this ARC from GRR and thoroughly enjoyed it...the first book I've read by Sonia. I definitely will be reading the rest of the books in the series.

This was a high angst story. Two traumatized men meet and the photographer, Mason, was immediately drawn to Rain when, unbeknownst to him, he saw him in a mall.

It wasn't until much later that they ended up working in the same location; The Pointe.

Mason photographed wedding parties while Rain was a member of the staff who helped serve the guests.

Through several encounters they grew closer to each other and when Rain ended up homeless Mason offered him a room in his house.

You'll find yourself drawn into their budding romance, the ongoing tension due to Mason's family and Rain's mother and her boyfriend, and enjoy the cast of characters you'll meet.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series...'Furious.'

Mason Hart has a reputation for being a fantastic photographer and one hell of a grumpy, abrupt man to deal with. He doesn't trust easy and he certainly doesn't obsess over people until seeing Rain. Rain, who looks like an elfin prince, who flirts with anyone who moves, who's quick smile and bed-hopping ways hide a broken man with a heartbreaking past. Wedding season at the Pointe bring the two together, and their chemistry is undeniable, but can they both overcome their past traumas to forge something real?

The third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone, but it'll be more enjoyable if you know the back stories of the secondary characters. This book dealt with some heavy topics, which made the HEA both characters found that much more sweet. I really appreciate how the author dealt with the MC's trauma in a realistic way. I'm very much looking forward to reading the 4th book in the series!

I'm sooo loving this series. If you've come across this book, I would very much recommend that you start with book 1. It'll definitely give you the background of The Pointe and other characters .... it's a found family / friend group but not in each other's pocket, if that makes sense. Anyhoo, we've got two MC's who are emotionally damaged in each of their ways, especially by actually family. (which is sooo sad in itself ..... do heed the TW's as this story does reference some bad situations). This follows both of them as they navigate a new friendship/relationship while trying to also hide their scars & pain.....which of course does not go very well at all. Yes, there is a break-up....but that in itself is part of the healing. The author has created and emotional and realistic viewpoint - need to heal oneself before taking the next step. Loved the story and can't wait for next in series.

This was not any easy book to read. Rain's childhood was destroyed by his egg giver, she didn't deserve to be called mother. She was a good time girl and her lovers were sexual predators. When her latest starts creeping on Rain, he goes to live in the storeroom at work. Mason is the preferred photographer at the Pointe. grumpy, gorgeous and shy. He's as attracted to Rain as Rain is to him. There relationship sizzles. But it's also a bit creepy.
Definitely read the content/trigger warnings. I only read the story halfway before I started skimming. This was a well written but rather bleak story. Not really my cup of tea. This was a little less angsty than books one and two, but not by much. If you like moody messes, this could be the book for you. As for me, if there's a book four, I don't think I'll read it.
I received an advance copy of this book and this is my review.

The author refers to Rain as a "toddler adult" and variations of such a few times, and although they say he's not that anymore, to me, he was.

Whilst I understand that his trauma made him act in certain ways, considering how thoughtful and capable he was in setting up cameras and blockades and keeping himself safe, I was disappointed by the continual miscommunication, childish flouncing, and ignoring an alarm does not go with his need to keep himself safe. I felt like he was two different people - one careful, sensitive and aware; and another oblivious, shying away from information or facts, and childish.

Although he touched on a little support at Tristan's, I didn't actually feel the growth in the character, since we skip over him dealing with anything in favour of weird hotel scenes, which I can only assume are to introduce old or new characters. Given how detailed some of the scenes are, I was disappointed by this. We are kind of told that the characters change and grow, but we only see Rain move in with Mason for a play to stay and then Mason continues to give him things, even in the ending, which feels almost the same.

This book covers some really heavy issues and whilst the upbeat, family vibes keep the lightness, the trauma and deeper relationship support is very brushed over. Mason does say 'it 's not about that' immediately followed by actions that counteract his words, and whilst a library of self help books is useful, it's like being given the Disney cartoon version, after being shown the live action version.

Not for me.
