This time of year opens old wounds from my past. I hate Christmas. Everything about it. The twinkling lights. The scent of pine and cinnamon. The merrygoodcheer.
But I especially despise the reminder that I am single and need an heir. So this Christmas, I will give my old-world Italian family what they want. I’ll show off my new girlfriend at all the events I must attend. Embarrass myself by acting like I’ve fallen in love. And on Christmas, she’ll break my heart.
You see, Cyndee is my fake girlfriend. We fooled everyone into believing we’re a couple, including me. Nothing was fake. Not for Cyndee and not for me. I fell hard for her, but my family doesn’t approve and forces me to break Cyndee’s heart.
This isn’t the end of us. It’s only the beginning of our story…

I felt this is the beginning of an awesome mafia series because this book stole my heart. This age gap book told of a romance between Fabio, who is under his Italian family pressure to marry and produce an heir and Cyndee who happens to be a cleaning lady for him and secretly has feelings for her boss. It’s Cyndee who talks about to him about finding a fake girlfriend. Will his family approve?
This was a great cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see what comes next. I know anything coming from this author will be worth the wait.
Things that I like…Naomi Porter’s books. Things I didn’t know I liked…Holiday books. I never saw myself as a Christmas/Holiday book fan but I got the opportunity to read this book and a few others this holiday season and I am hooked. Naomi Porter, once again, introduces new characters that we know are going to pull us in and make us want more. Fabio and Cyndee do this. We have a billionaire with morals and a girl just trying to make it in the world. We get heat, passion, intrigue and a cliff hanger that made me desperate for the rest of the story. There are great supporting characters, surprising characters and a story line that promises to only get better. I am ready for a new mafia takeover. If you haven’t read this author before, I encourage you to start at the beginning and just enjoy. Her books are worth it.
“How the Mobster Stole Christmas” delivers an engaging and heartwarming prequel novella that sets the perfect stage for a new crime mafia romance series centered around Fabio and Cyndee. The novella introduces us to Cyndee, a young cleaning lady who quietly harbors feelings for her older, enigmatic boss, Fabio. The dynamic between them is both sweet and charged, especially as the novella leans into the popular age gap trope with genuine warmth and humor.
Fabio’s family pressures—his Italian parents eager for him to marry and produce a male heir—add a delightful layer of familial drama and cultural authenticity. His siblings face similar expectations, with one brother’s misery following an arranged marriage serving as a cautionary tale. The plot takes a playful twist when, during a conversation about his Christmas tip, Cyndee suggests he find a fake girlfriend—a solution she borrowed from the romance books she loves. This clever premise propels the story into a fake dating scenario, a trope that fans of the genre will appreciate.
The novella’s pacing is brisk, and the chemistry between Fabio and Cyndee is palpable, making their interactions both amusing and tender. The story ends on a tantalizing cliffhanger, leaving readers eager to follow their journey in the upcoming series slated for release in 2026.
Overall, “How the Mobster Stole Christmas” is a delightful short story that balances romance, humor, and family intrigue. It’s a must-read for fans of mafia romance and those who love a well-crafted fake dating setup. I thoroughly enjoyed this novella and can’t wait to see what the future holds for Fabio and Cyndee.
Cyndi and her sister Celine have their own cleaning company and they clean homes of some important people. One of those people being, Fabio Ferrari. Fabio is preparing to be bombarded by his family in regard to his love life as the holiday season approaches. After Cyndee suggest he uses a tactic from a romance book she has read, Fabio asks her to be his fake girlfriend over the next four upcoming events with his family. Cyndee is hesitant, but when Fabio offers her enough money that could secure her future, she decides to accept his offer. As Cyndee and Fabio get to know one another and feelings grow, can they survive without someone getting hurt? The question doesn't get any easier as Fabio's family adores Cyndee. How will Fabio's family react when the secret is revealed and it's revealed that Cyndee is just a house cleaner and way beneath their wealth and stature. As the book ends, we are left with a lot of questions.
This was a great novella and I can't wait until the next book is released. Hoping Fabio and Cyndee will get their HEA. I have a feeling there will be a lot of drama along with twist and turns before we find out.
“How the Mobster Stole Christmas” is a fast, teasing taste of what’s clearly going to become a much bigger Mafia world. This short novella sets the table beautifully — just when the story really starts to take shape, Naomi Porter hits us with a cliffhanger and leaves us craving more.
The chemistry, tension, and danger are all there — but instead of wrapping things up with a bow, Porter uses this novella to introduce the players, hint at deeper loyalties, and drop us right into the Ferrari Famiglia universe that’s still to come. It honestly felt like the story was just getting started when it ended… which is both frustrating and exciting in the best “I need the next book now” way.
This story will continue in Naomi’s upcoming Ferrari Famiglia Mafia series and will also connect loosely to her Kings of Anarchy MC (Northern California) books — and fans of interconnected worlds are going to love following the threads as everything ties together.
If you enjoy dark holiday vibes, mafia tension, and novellas that serve as a bridge into something bigger, this one is a fun, quick read — just be ready for that cliffhanger!
This is a cute prequel novella for a new mafia series Naomi Porter is launching in 2026. It does end on a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait for the conclusion.
Cyndee works for Fabio Ferrari as his cleaning lady. When Fabio complains about not having a date to bring to some holiday family functions, Cyndee gives him the idea of taking a fake date. Fabio offers her an obscene amount of money to be his fake date, and Cyndee reluctantly agrees. By the night of their last date, they’ve grown closer, but can they make a relationship work?
The characters make this story. Fabio and Cyndee seem fond of one another, and also seem kind and honest in a mafia world. Cyndee’s sister, on the other hand, just wants her to take the money regardless of the consequences. I love the hint of a side story about Fabio’s sister Zia and bodyguard Ross. I can’t wait to read the conclusion to this story. Jump on the bandwagon and get to know Fabio and Cyndee.
The Mobster Who Sold Christmas is a little charmer. Read it and let me know what you think - I’d love to discuss!
Ms. Porter teases us with this entertaining, fake relationship, boss/employee novella that had me wanting more. Yes, there is a cliffhanger at the end, so be prepared, but it is worth the read. Two opposite people who have a connection but keep it close to the vest until things take a turn. Fabio, a cold and shut-off mafia man, needs a way out of a possibly arranged marriage and the only person he has in front of him is his cleaning lady, Cyndee. Cyndee is not from his world and when he offers a chance of a lifetime, she hesitates but decides why not. Time together, finds feelings come to the surface and then.... Here is where the cliffhanger leaves us. I will be anxiously waiting for Ms. Porter's new mafia crime family series coming in 2026
NO YOU DIDN'T! HOLY HADES how could you leave me hanging like that?????? How The Mobster Stole Christmas is part of the multi author collaboration of 25 Days Of Christmas Bikers And Mobsters. It's Fabio and Cyndee's story and it's definitely quite a ride. This author spins an intriguing, intense journey and pulls readers in quickly. I love the characters and their story. But, there's a massive cliffhanger and it definitely left me hanging. I can't wait to what's in store for this couple!
Once again I started getting into the book and you leave me with a cliff hanger. But I guess I will just have to read all the other books that you have waiting for us to read. I will say I can't wait to see how this series will be because if it's anything like your MC series I can't wait to be a part of that reading group. I have loved every book you have written.
Fabio needs a fake girlfriend for his family's holiday events to prevent an arranged marriage. He asks his cleaning lady who he likes and trusts, Cyndee, offering her $100K but she refuses. When he sees her a few days later he offers her $1 million pet event to attend the events unfortunately her sister pressures Cyndee to agree. As these two spend time together they get closer even as they both know nothing can come of them. We have to wait to see if they get a HEA.
This is a charming and festive Christmas novella with a fun fake-dating setup.
Fabio Ferrari hires Cyndee to pose as his girlfriend to avoid an arranged marriage, and what begins as a business deal quickly turns into something more.
The chemistry builds nicely, and the story ends on a cliffhanger that launches a new series. This is quick, enjoyable and left me wanting the next book like yesterday.
Well that was a hot little read, I absolutely loved Fabio and Cyndee’s story ❤️❤️❤️ It might have started as pretence but I imagine these two will be lighting up the pages in the new series. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤

Loved the fairytale beginning of Fabio and Cyndee. Him being a billionaire and her being the cleaning lady seems safe when they start their arrangement but boy does it unravel real quick!! I love their chemistry and can’t wait to read more about them ❤️🖤 highly recommend reading !!!!
