While Pepper plans on having an eternity to spend her happily ever after with Emerick Lowrance, getting to the wedding is proving to be a problem. Between numerous women rising from their graves into their second lives and a surge of miscreants attacking innocents on the street, she has her hands full with brood business.

Rather than dwell on the factors delaying their wedding ceremony, she resumes her hunt to make her city a safe place for all. One of her prey, a serial killing rapist, provides the vital clue she needs to end Breckenan’s reign of terror. To win vengeance for herself and his other victims, she must exhume the past, uncover her father’s secrets, and embrace the true strength of her heritage.

What she doesn’t know leads her into a deadly dance, and even a single misstep will doom her, her brood, and the love of her unlife.

About the author

R.J. Blain

RJ Blain suffers from a Moleskine journal obsession, a pen fixation, and a terrible tendency to pun without warning.

When she isn't playing pretend, she likes to think she's a cartographer and a sumi-e painter. In reality, she herds cats and a husband, and obeys the commands of Tsu Dhi, the great warrior fish.

In her spare time, she daydreams about being a spy. Should that fail, her contingency plan involves tying her best of enemies to spinning wheels and quoting James Bond villains until she is satisfied.

Excellent end of the series

This is a fantastic story and the ending of the series, where all the loose threads of the story get tied up.
The bad guys die, the good guys win, love conquers all and they ride off into the pre-sunrise because they are vampires.
What makes this author my favourite is how these events happen and the characters involved in the stories. They have a humanity that is both humbling and inspirational especially since they are not human. The heroes have strength of character even when faced with easier options that serve themselves rather than the goals expected. They are not perfect but they try to be better for themselves and their community even when the world around them is not ideal.
Of course there is also humour and bad guys getting dispatched in violent manners that makes these stories readable over and over. 10/10

Really good story

R.J. Blain is, without doubt, an extremely talented author. It’s nice to see Pepper and Emerick off on their HEA with a detour in attempt to vanquish their worst foes.

That said, the conversations between characters become EXTREMELY WORDY in places. As there have been in all of her works of late, an excess of pets and gifts and purchases abound. It can be fun, but reading the same scenario in every book under every nom de plume is irritating, to say the least. To have this from an author who has written books that did not repeat content, jokes (save me from the repetitive jokes!), or the same traits in numerous characters (hobbies for one) is disappointing and discouraging. Mrs. Blain is too intelligent and talented to keep doing this.

Loved this book.

One of the things I really like about this author is that she's not predictable. Both main characters are likeable, and the surrounding characters are fun to read about. I have to laugh at Pepper's enthusiasm for eliminating bad guys. There are adorable animals too, which is always a winner for me.

A very satisfying end to the series.

The bad guy got it in the end, family rallied round, everyone cleaned up after the bad guy and a wonderful wedding.

We also got the who what when of the vampire world and Pepper got charming, smartass brothers who couldn't do enough for her.

Emerick got the biggest surprise and was extremely happy.

Wonderful Conclusion!

Such a great windup to this series! It had been a while since I read the first two, so I re-read from the beginning and remembered how much I enjoyed it the first time. I always like how much this author researches the locations and histories of some of the people and places she visits in the books and this one was exceptional!

What a great series!

It took a while and extreme patience to get all 3 books of this series, but was well worth it. In fact, I would love many more stories in the Pepper, Emerick and Charlie world. There were so many great characters. You can't go wrong with any of RJ Brain or her Susan Copperfield books. Such a talented author.

Outstanding conclusion to an excellent trilogy

This is as much a review of the trilogy as it is of Death Dance. I just found it immensely satisfying. The premise is intriguing. But even more intriguing, I found the character development and twists from book to book riveting. I honestly consider this one of this author's most excellent reads!

Loved it

I loved how they all came together to defeat Breckanen. I also enjoyed how the origin of the vampires was explained and how things came to be the way they are in the story. Loved this series and everything by this author.

What a perfectly appropriate wedding! And what Pepper and Emerick had to deal with to get to the perfectly appropriate wedding! This was everything the first two books promised. I just hope that there will be sequels featuring certain children, as I'm sure their adventures would be hilarious.

Death Dance

Though I might wish the series was longer, this was a wonderful ending. I have loved each of her books I've read. I've laughed and cried and have been thoroughly entertained. Thank you Ms Blain!

This book definitely had more snark than the first two. Was a little long. Needed a tighter closure of catching the bad guy.
