The main character became almost immediately unbearable. The “villain” is interesting but he keeps killing everyone with impunity and very little discretion. This is what a good idea looks like when it simply poorly executed. This could of easily been great with a little help from a proper story teller and editor.

The inspirations were so prevalent it bordered on derivative, that didn't stop me enjoying it. The villain was very compelling and there are a lot of threads that could be followed. I'll read the next one if my library stocks it.
