Vengeful Bonds: Season Two

Rate this book
In a world rigidly defined by secondary genders, a political storm brews, challenging the traditional alpha-dominated order with progressive ideals. Amidst this upheaval, eight strangers unite against Cerberus, a corrupt power broker. Their mission, born from loss, forges an unexpected bond, transcending societal norms.

This diverse group includes Fen, a sharp-witted omega hacker, Loch, the protective alpha leader, Binnie, a charismatic alpha political consultant, Saint, the former demolitions specialist who can no longer function in polite society, and Ollie, the analytical beta. Forced together by circumstance, they join Binnie in his secure residence for safety, bringing along Fen's Seth, an omega interpreter, San, an alpha artist, and Deacon, an unpresented makeup artist with a flair for the dramatic.

As they unravel Cerberus's sinister plots, they discover not just the hope of justice but also an unconventional love. Forming a formidable pack of four mated pairs, they challenge the very foundations of their world, redefining family and pack bonds in a society where loyalty and love are often confined by archaic norms.

Vengeful Bonds is more than just an Omegaverse tale of revenge; it's a journey of healing, self-discovery, and the forging of a polyamorous pack that challenges the very foundations of their world. Join them in the complete compilation of season two of this serialized adventure, where each chapter unveils layers of intrigue, romance, and a bond that defies all odds.

oof. that ending was really super extra weird.

this series in general has too much smut—which i honestly never thought i’d say—but this book has even less of a plot than the first. i thought we were getting a cool dark dystopian murder mystery but nothing is happening with that.

also i’m pretty sure i only like ollie and binnie. living in everyone else’s pov’s is just rough.

By the end of the book, I was just uncomfortable and couldn’t wait to finally finish it and forget about this series. The first book started great, but now I’m sick of the characters and the plot.

Sometimes the time passed too quickly—six weeks between the chapters. Other times, it dragged—like during another repetitive sex scene. I was so tired of Seth’s inner monologue: “I’m not worthy, I’m not good enough, everything is my fault.” Fen’s and Deke’s POVs weren’t any better.

I was also really annoyed that the major themes of the book became being pregnant and getting pregnant. The pregnancy trope is my least favorite.

And the ending… was it rape?

OMG AGAIN with the omega cliffy I’m dying 😭 need szn 3

I love Seth Fen & Sans friendship so much 🥹

Saint is 🔥

Actually the pack dynamic in general in this series is everything. As a found family and polyamory lover, but also a big “mates” simp, it’s so hard to get it all in one but THIS SERIES DOES IT 👏🏽

Everyone within the pack has their mate. They’re one & only and everything. But they also have that pack bond that is quite intimate in ALL WAYS and surpasses platonic relationship into something more and I’m here for it. For all of it.

Vengeful Bonds: Season Two this is not a standalone season one should be read first. We are back with Fen, Seth, Loch, Binnie, San, and Saint, Ollie, and Deke. This is another fun rollercoaster ride as they unravel Cerberus's sinister plots. I love the dynamics of the couples and the family pack they have created. I love this series so much and can't wait for the next season. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

NOOOOOOK TALK ABOUT A FREAKING CLIFFHANGER 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 we are literally at the most peak momentttt!!! I have never read a cliffhanger at a 🔥 scene moment and left feeling this frustrated when noticing i am at the end of the book 😭😭😭😭😂😭😭😭 Boyyy i have to applaud for that cliffhanger making me aching already (body, mind & emotion might i add 👀) for the 3 book 👏🏼 i am both scare & excited at the same time 😭

I freaking love this series ✨ with this 2 book we get to see more on their relationship development between partners & also with their pack such a fun time with all the POV 😍 you literally didn’t miss any, the author is legit GIVING ♥️ there is no crumbs or hidden moments, every moment of 🔥 mention did happen which make me lurve 👀

I have to mention that they have the best communication within pack ever ! Top tier in the way they communicate as a pack & as whole. All of them want the best for everyone, the fact they can sense when the other is feeling down or anxious helps a lot and basically they even have their own group of support moment with each other. This just show how strong their chemistry with each other as a pack & how intone they all are ✨

I also have to add that i love how the author talk about fertility topic in this book. The way she described surprise pregnancy through Ollie & Deke is very fresh, she show how it is not always sunshine & rainbow when you suddenly got pregnant without even planning or ready to be. The fact she show that it is not everyone is always be automatically excited & happy when they get pregnant. That feeling anxious, scared & shock is completely solid reaction too

On another hand there is also Seth who extremely want to be pregnant until he feel disappointed that he didn’t. I get to feel both sides of emotion & turmoil. We also get to see how both of them talk about those complex emotion & resolve the situation with great support from their partner & their pack. It is such a great insight to read which I didn’t expect to be found mention in a MM book 😂 not shock in the omega verse book part but more on the MM since i hardly found this kind of topic even mention in FM book which make it a “wow” moment of me finding it in MM book (not complaining just stating how i feel because i am kinda glad finally found a book that mention the topic)

We have finally crack the mystery which is fantastic and very helpful. I think book 3 will finally be the taking action time, lots of relationship moment 👀 & we might even see babies time 👀👀👀👏🏼 overall i can just say i am read for it now!

“You’re my best friend,” Binnie simpered, pinching San’s cheek obnoxiously. “For life.”
San made a barfing noise and tried to get away, but Binnie wrapped his arms around his waist. “No, wait. Come back. Let me love you.”
San struggled, flailing like a turtle on its back. “I can’t handle the shmoop. I’m not a shmoopy person. That’s Fen…and Seth. They love that stuff.” He shuddered, once more making a vomit sound and sticking his tongue out. “It makes my skin crawl.”
Binnie tackled him to the mattress, pinning him there, and when the other alpha’s eyes met his, he froze, too caught up in them. Binnie kissed his nose. “Too bad. My feelings for you are so sappy and schmoopy and disgustingly romantic that I might even make myself sick but you’re stuck with it…and me.”
Binnie gazed at him with cartoon hearts in his eyes. San wanted to hate it but he didn’t. What sucked was Binnie knew he didn’t. He dropped his head, suddenly peppering kisses all over his face until San was struggling once more. How was he so freakishly strong? They were both alphas. “Okay. Okay. I give up. You can…you can be as shmoopy as you want. But only when it’s just you and me.”

Ollie knew he wasn’t unaffected. Who would be? No matter how much someone hated their parents, there were bound to be mixed emotions when one died. Especially when they’d been the only parent left. Ollie wanted to hold him. He wanted to tell him that he could cry or scream or rage if he wanted. But he couldn’t force the words out past the lump in his throat.

Loch and Fen were in the kitchen when Deke arrived back downstairs. He briefly met their gaze as he passed, but continued on without a word, heading into the living room where the others had gathered. They had set themselves up in a strange configuration with Seth squished between San and Saint on the shorter part of the large L-shaped sofa, and Binnie alone on the larger section. Fen had never seen Binnie voluntarily sit so far from his mate.
As Fen watched, it all made sense. Deke didn’t hesitate. He went straight to Binnie, lying down on the sofa, curling into a ball with his head in the older alpha’s lap. Fen swallowed the lump in his throat, blinking back tears as Binnie’s hand cupped Deke’s cheek, his thumb idly stroking the skin there.

Fen turned around in Loch’s arms, burying his face in Loch’s chest, wrapping his arms around him tightly. “Why does this keep happening to us?” he asked, voice muffled, letting the thick material of Loch’s shirt absorb the few tears that escaped. “Did we break a mirror or something?”
Loch’s hands cupped the back of Fen’s head, dropping kisses on the top of it like he was a child, but he didn’t answer him. What was there to say? The answer felt pretty obvious. It twisted Fen’s insides just thinking about it.
Why did every little thing feel so hard won? Everything good came from or with something so much worse. It felt like a massive karmic imbalance.

“Tell me how San’s art is going to help us get revenge for Josh?”
Seth sighed. “It’s not, but San is beautiful and an alpha.”
“And you’re beautiful and an omega?”
“Irrelevant.”
Saint’s lips twitched in amusement. “Deke?”
“Um, the all-powerful alpha of alphas who changes people’s genders? That Deke?”
“Me?”
“What do you mean? You have like…military training. Combat skills.”
“I’m a demolition expert. Do you see anything for me to blow up?”
“It’s different.”
“It’s not. It’s just your grandmother’s voice in your head whispering lies. You don’t have to justify your right to exist in the pack. We all want you here because we love you, not for what we can get from you.”

“So what, little one?”
“Jealous,” Seth wailed. “I…I really wanted a baby,” he wailed.
Saint sighed, pulling him into a hug. “There it is,” he said softly.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” he managed between chest heaving sobs.
“It means, I was waiting for you to be honest about the baby thing. We can still have a baby. Nobody in this pack is going to get upset about two babies…or three…or ten. Packs expand all the time. That’s how they survive. You don’t have to wait just because Ollie is pregnant.”
Seth could feel his tears soaking Saint’s shoulder but he couldn’t stop. “Having a baby—on purpose—with everything going on seems…”
“Selfish?” Saint asked, deadpan.
“Irresponsible. What if something happens to him…or her? All because I couldn’t wait until the danger passed to feed my own selfish need to be a parent.”
Saint pushed Seth away from him and chucked him under the chin until their eyes met. “I need you to hear me when I say this. We’ll never put our kids in danger. Every person in this house is ready to sacrifice themselves to make sure Ollie’s baby is safe. It would be like that for our kids, Fen’s kids…every child born into this pack will be protected.”
Seth just cried harder. Why was Saint so sweet? Why was Seth such a mess? “I don’t know why I’m like this.”
“I expected this breakdown much sooner, if I’m being honest. You brushed off your negative pregnancy test much too quickly. It was only a matter of time.”

“I can’t believe you think you’re selfish,” Saint said, tilting his head to give Seth more access. He loved when Seth marked him up. “You’re the most unselfish person I know. To a fault. First, with Ollie and now, with Deke. You can still be a good friend and hold space for your own feelings. You’re allowed to care about you, too.”

“Loch nodded. He’d noticed Ollie’s anxiety, too. Ollie was putting on a brave face. He always did, but there were cracks in his facade. “I think he’s trying to focus on the big picture. He isn’t big on emotions. He’s not good at asking for help or letting people in. Being older than Deke, I think he’s trying to downplay just how hard this is for him.”
“I can’t even imagine what he’s going through…spending most of my life a beta then boom, you’re an omega. You’re pregnant. You’re mated. You’re an official pack. That would be a lot for even the most level-headed person.”
“I’m impressed by how well Deke seems to be handling it,” Loch admitted. “If this was all happening to me at his age, I would have run screaming into the night.”
“Deke isn’t really handling it,” Fen countered. “He’s an actor. He’s acting like he thinks an alpha should. Deep inside, he’s freaking out. But, like Ollie, he doesn’t want to make him feel bad. Sometimes, I’ll catch him snuggling with San and his scent will just sour. But when we ask about it, he just laughs it off.”

The first season of Vengeful Bonds was enough to get me hooked on the characters, their hot as heck polyamorous pack, and the insidious political maneuverings going on behind the scenes, and this second season continued to build on everything that made the first so special. From new reveals about shifter genetics to evolving pack relationships and an abundance of explosively steamy encounters, there was a lot to keep me invested from start to end. I think this might be the steamiest book I've read so far in 2025, and Nolah Harker did not hold back from describing the heights these men took each other to in the bedroom. In between sating their thirst for each other, the pack teamed up to continue their investigation of Dresden and ended up going down several additional paths as the story progressed. I found the genealogy / medical research storyline fascinating, and I'm really curious to see what else they end up uncovering. There are a lot more invested parties than I anticipated, and I get the feeling that these men have barely scratched the surface at whatever underlying plot is driving things. My favorite aspect of this series, however,  continues to be the relationships between each of the pack members, and I was thrilled by how deeply this season explored those bonds. Each of the leads is at a different stage of their personal character arcs, and I really enjoyed seeing how they supported each other, lifted each other up, and learned more about each other throughout the season. These men have been through a lot together already, and though I know they're only just getting started on their quest for answers and vengeance, I'm already eager to see them come out on top.

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

I was given the opportunity to read season two before its release, and since I haven’t made a review for the first season, I decided to put them together. I started this series back when it was on Kindle Vella (rip), and I was obsessed. When Kindle Vella shut down, I was so upset, thinking I might not be able to finish this amazing story. But because Onley is amazing, she released them on Amazon as books. Now, I might be a little biased because I literally love anything written by Onley James, but I truly love this series. It’s something a bit different from what she normally writes. She includes omegaverse and polyamorous relationships, which just so happen to be genres that I love. But there's so much more to these books. You have revenge, love, self-discovery, and a bond between all the characters so strong that it defies the rules and social norms of their world. I would highly recommend this book to people who enjoy these genres and suggest checking out Onley's other books, as I think her work is incredible.
You can find her work on Amazon, her patron, and her website.

SOOOO happy to finally have the second book. That soft cliffhanger from book one had me so intrigued with the new information and I was so eager for the pack to start solidifying now that everyone has claimed their mate.

Picks up immediately from book 1 where we discover Deke's status/designation and how it impacts the group. They're not an official registered pack yet because everything is still so new to everyone, but they're already starting to turn to Loch as their leader. With the discovery of Deke's designation brings more complications because of the changes it brought up in Ollie and Loch, which is scary if it ever gets out.

There's a lot of discussion and uncertainty, but it also solidifies everyone's bonds when they think about protecting one another. I also loved seeing the start of sharing among the couples, when everyone starts to love on others that aren't their mate, and even though there's some tiny possessive jealously at times, they learn to share and all the smut scenes were 10/10 hot hot hot.

It's high angst, and high heat, so I was drooling while also on the edge of my seat from all things we're finding out and how it can be kept secret. Can't wait for book 3!

Season Two of Vengeful Bonds is here, and let me tell you—it delivers on every level. From the first episode to the last, it’s a high-octane ride full of sizzling spice, razor-sharp sass, and banter so good it could cut glass. Our favorite pack—Fen, Seth, Loch, Binnie, San, Saint, Ollie, and Deke—returns stronger, bolder, and more entangled than ever before.

One of the standout elements this season is the deepening of the pack dynamic. There’s a heavy focus on emotional connection, vulnerability, and what it means to protect your chosen family. The tension between uncertainty and loyalty keeps the stakes high, and it’s incredibly satisfying to see how those bonds strengthen under pressure.

I’m still giving Deke’s family the side-eye. Something feels off there, and I have a feeling we’ve only scratched the surface.

Season Two leaves you breathless and begging for more. Bring on the next season—I’m not ready to let go of this pack just yet.

As always, no spoilers.

To the people writing this had too much smut 😂😂😂 oh sweet children of summer. It’s an omegaverse with 4 mated pairs in a damn pack living in the same house and everyone’s setting everyone off. BABY THE GON BE SUCKING AND FUCKING.

Now. 5 stars. Love how she writes. I’ve read enough of her stuff to know what this was going to be like. It’s a fucking ride. And I am here for it. There’s quite a bit going on plot wise, and I look forward to seeing how it all plays out. There’s shit happening with the pack, and it’s going to get bumpy but we all know it’ll end up HEA. I love all the characters. I love their relationships with eachother and the little found family they’re creating.

I have only one complaint 😂😂 when the fucks season 3 dropping because that ending left me going OH SHIT 😂 but we know their Alpha and Omega are made for eachother so it’ll be fine 😂😂😂😂😂 A serious fuck sesh, but it’ll be fine. 😂😂

Vengeful Bonds: Season Two is here, and trust me when I say… it delivers! Fen, Seth, Loch, Binnie, San, Saint, Ollie, and Deke are back in action, and damn, they don’t hold back. The spice is sizzling, the sass is sharp, and the banter is on point.

The dynamics Oh, they’ve shifted, and it’s nothing short of exhilarating. @nolah_harker_writes knack for weaving passion and tension into every chapter keeps the heat cranked up, and just when you think you’ve figured it out, the plot throws in something that’ll leave you gasping.

In a world where secondary genders dictate everything, a storm is brewing. The alpha-dominated order is being challenged by forward-thinking ideals and at the heart of this chaos? Our eight unexpected heroes, bound together by a shared mission: taking down Cerberus, the corrupt power broker that’s been pulling strings in the shadows.

Season 2 of the Vengeful Bonds was another rollercoaster of love, intrigue and lots of heat and rut and nookie.
You'll dive deeper in the story of the couples, and how they deal with the dangers and angst around the corner.
Although it is a high heat (pun not intended) MM Omegaverse, it also touches a subject currently very on topic: gender dysphoria, and fertility issues. And the mindboggling and morally gray ways gender- and fertilityclinics go to get results one way or another.

I love the MC's, how they support and care, no, love each other, I hated another cliffhanger. Now I need to know how many seasons there are planned, and when they come out!

I received an arc for free, and I leave this review voluntarily. With a lot of pleasure!

Okay HELLO?? I'm already so in love with this series! OBSESSED EVEN! I cannot wait for the next book to be announced. I will definitely be here waiting impatiently for it.

Seth really reminds me of a character named Luca in another series I've read recently called Fated in the Stars, it's by Remy Bishop. Have any of you read it? It's so good and I highly recommend if you like the tightknit bonds the pack has in this series here. It'll definitely scratch the right itch if you have a big thing for polyam books like I do.

There's still a big amount of sex scenes in this season, but it was interesting to see how they handle sharing within the pact. Binnie and San's relationship also developed especially well in this book.

We learn a lot regarding enigmas and their origins.

The plot thickens and the spice keeps spicing. I just want to join the nest and give everyone hugs. I know I shouldn’t have favorites, but I think Deke and Ollie are a little ahead of the others. I’m side eyeing Veritas. I’m off to Patreon to catch-up on season 3 since this ended on a cliffhanger.

I'm calling the authorities; I don't care if I knew the cliffhanger was coming; I am still calling the authorities because HOW DARE YOU?!?!? This installment was CHEF'S KISS; I loved everything about it. The characters were obviously great, the spice was oh so good and the overall story being revealed is so interesting. Just when I think I know what is going on, something else happens, and that keeps me on my toes constantly. I need to know what comes next and I need to know immediately.

Oh, Onley James, do you have any idea what you've done to me. I'm now unhealthy. obsessed with this story and cast of characters, and now I have to wait till part 3 comes out 😭

Yall need to read this series even if you hate waiting for the next volumes to drop because DAMN!!!!! The spice is beyond spice in this one. We're talking face flushed panty melting levels 😆 you have not 1 couple, not 2 couples, but 4 hot sexy couples. Mixed in with all the spice is a crazy good story that has twist turns and keeps you interested.

This is without a doubt a 5 star read series.

This is an engaging continuation of the story, and I highly recommend that readers start with Season One first for the full experience. We're reunited with Fen, Seth, Loch, Binnie, San, Saint, Ollie, and Deke, and it's another exhilarating ride as they dig deeper into Cerberus's sinister schemes. I absolutely love the dynamics among the couples and the family-like bond they've formed. This series
continues to captivate me, and I can't wait for the next season! If you're looking for an exciting read, this book and series are definitely worth your time!

Intriguing

I didn't realize this wasn't a standalone so I did my due diligence and read the first book.
This story has amazing world building and that world is about to be flipped.
I loved the individual couples but also the pack dynamics were everything.
The chemistry between these core characters is sizzling hot.
There's danger for everyone as a sinister plot lurks in the shadows and I can't wait for the conclusion.

I will give the book this, at least they were making some progress in what they were investigating, including a secondary mystery from the first season.

Editing my rating from 1 to 2 stars for that reason, and really only that reason.

Still a lot of smut. Still a lot of feeling like interactions were forced. And the ending of the book gave me ick vibes. Part of me wants to pick up the next installment whenever that comes out in hopes it gets better. Part of me is wondering why bother.

3.5 rounded up to 4 stars

I love a good sex scene as much as the next person but dare I say there was too much. To the point I was skimming over it to get to the next bit of plot.
The plot, when it shows up, is actually quite interesting and I can’t wait to see how things pan out but I’m sure it will be dragged out with a lot more sex for a while yet.

I enjoyed the first one but this one is basic we don’t trust anyone one with SETH - OMG I’m not worthy of my mate and pack, plus I’ve got to get pregnant.

The cliffhanger with Saint tying him up and is going to force himself on Seth to make sure he can’t escape and gets knocked up… not good at all

really liked it

I really liked this book. 4 stars for rating, 4 for spice. I liked the continuing development of the family/pack unit, and a little more insight into Deke’s mystery. This does end on a pretty big cliffhanger.
