Cyrus Johnson is rich, powerful, and used to getting his way. When his estranged wife shows up at his office demanding a divorce once and for all, he not only refuses, he makes a demand of his own.
Daniella Barrett-Johnson has little bargaining power where Cyrus is concerned, and he’s already used his vast financial resources to prolong their divorce and keep her tied to him. Her only hope is to give him what he wants, but if she does, how will she ever be able to leave him for good?

This book was exactly what I needed. I love marriage reconciliation tropes, and this one had so much heart. When two who drift apart learn to love each other again, seeing their faults and rough areas to work on us cat nip for me. I loveeee an alpha male also that knows how to play his wife’s body like a fiddle to where she can’t even think straight enough to “fight” the want, attraction and sexual tension. This is book two in a series, but can totally be read as a stand alone. I love seeing strong gorgeous black characters in this story. It makes me want to read all the other books. I highly recommend this book.
I think I'm done with this series. The men in this series don't understand My body my choice. I don't appreciate a dude tell a woman what to do with her body. Dani wanted a divorce. Why would she want to have a baby with a tyrant like Cyrus?? He needs therapy. He's a bully and he's mean. This book wasn't long enough to address the issues he has. Which I think stem from his dad's death. I feel like Dani was bullied into loving his ass.
4.5 Alpha stars. Yes, Cyrus was rough, I won't lie, but those are the ones I fall the hardest for. This man did NOT want to let her go, even after all the years, he stayed true to his marriage and that alone has me rounding up. I got all the feels from this one. I loved it.
Cyrus Johnson and Daniella Barrett-Johnson have been estranged for 3 years. Daniella has wanted out of the marriage and Cyrus just keeps prolonging it. So what is a woman to do?
Cyrus is the CEO of Johnson Brewery and Restaurants, he took over the reins once his father died. He is hard edged, hard working and ruthless and he does all of this without a care in the world of what anybody says or thinks. He is taking care of his family the way his dad took care of them. So how come Daniella doesn't see what he is doing is all in a days work.
Daniella is a gallery owner and estranged wife of Cyrus, she thinks Cyrus is ruthless and coldhearted and he doesn't give a damn about her. She can't take it and wants out. Why is Cyrus holding on to their marriage when it is obvious to her he doesn't love her? He just want to be in control and ruling everything, well she isn't having and wants out. She storms into his office and tells him stop prolonging their inevitable, sign the divorce papers so that they can both go on with their lives. Cyrus will give her what she wants on one condition and if she agrees he will sign the divorce papers.
Daniella is leery and weary of the conditions but she agrees because if that is the only way to be over the marriage then she will do it. She is in love with Cyrus he is a first with everything but she will not be in a marriage where she is the only when feeling anything. She agrees to move back home to get things going but little does she realize is that Cyrus is madly in love with and will now do anything to get her back. He knows he's made terrible mistakes when it came to Daniella and if she gives him a chance, he can prove to her he will be the husband that she needs.
Cyrus so used to being in control and ruling with an iron first, now realizes that will not work with Daniella. He foolishly believed that she would come back after leaving him but she didn't and stayed away from him for 3 years and only communicating through their lawyers. Cyrus definitely found out that you don't miss the water until the well runs dry. And he was missing Daniella big time but will she crush his heart now that he is willing to wear it on his sleeve for her? And willing to properly woo her the way he should have done so in the very beginning?
This is another great story in the "Johnson Family" series. I have to admit I had my reservations about Cyrus from book 1 and had no idea that he was even married. My first thought was, who would be married to this stiff prick (LOLL!!!) But hey even the control freaks need love too *snickering*. I found it hysterical that he also had OCD and I don't know why that was my first thought about him from the first book, only to have it confirmed in his story LOL!!! Author Delaney Diamond has another winner on her hands and I am about to delve into Book 3 "Just Friends (Johnson Family Book 3)" which is little brother Trenton's story. Lawd I can already tell his story is going to be a doozy because in the first two books, he was a hot mess (super savvy and incredible in the family business) but a real ladies man.
APB Perspective Reviews: I really liked Cyrus and I always say this with Delaney's books, I wanted more of him , he hides that big heart of his with anger and being stern. He likes order and Dani is not orderly but she is just what he needs. The chemistry of this couple burns off the pages and I was rooting for Cyrus to take her take her now ! I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series I really like this family.
Wow! I loved the chemistry between Cyrus and his estranged wife, Dani.
Cyrus believed in making the right choices for his family and Johnson Enterprises no matter how ruthless he had to be. Well Dani doesn't agree and she wants her freedom. However, is Dani willing to pay the price Cyrus is demanding?
OMGeeeeeee! I LOVE Cyrus! This book was GREAT, EXCELLENT and HOT! I literally could NOT put this book down. Cyrus, Cyrus, Cyrus is all I can say. He said it, he did it and he meant what he said. If you have not read this book, get it and I promise you won't be disappointed! Ms. Delaney Diamond, I really loved this book and I loved Cyrus and Daniela. GREAT READ!!
After being obstructed from getting a divorce for three years running, Daniella confronts her estranged husband. Their negotiations carry some challenging conditions and it isn't long before she's back under the influence of a ruthless man who does everything to guarantee that he gets what he wants.
PLAYERS: Daniella is an independent soul, who decides to walk away from her overbearing spouse to preserve her sanity. She's strong-willed, but is weak to Cyrus who doesn't speak the language she'd like to hear.
Cyrus is a tycoon, who appears to be cold and calculating until you see things from his side of the fence. He's like a bull in a china shop once he decides what he wants, but this approach doesn't work with Daniella.
OVERALL COMMENTS: I finished Perfect in two sittings and it's just as good as the first in the series. The writer showed Daniella and Cyrus's strengths and vulnerabilities, which made them rounded characters and made me empathize with them and their situation.
I couldn't help but root for this star-crossed couple and was happy when they finally worked things out. I'm looking forward to the third book in the series.
COVER NOTE: The cover wasn't enough to give me a great visual of Cyrus, but it's a nice representation of the story.
Another Hoopla find. I liked book 2 better than book 1. This series is keeping me entertained as I work through the day. It's also great that the entire series is on Hoopla!
I actually liked Cyrus. you can tell he has a big heart and wants the best for his family. I also love the fact that he didn't give up on his marriage with Daniella and knew what he wanted . I almost felt sad when he found out she betrayed him but it is so nice to see how a man takes care of what is his.
Daniela and Cyrus had a rough time for the first couple of years of marriage. She wanted to call it quits, he wouldn't do it! The way they worked through the problems in their relationship to build their happily ever after was beautiful! Dani found out Cyrus could let down his guard and love her, be in love with her! I enjoyed this story and look forward to the other Brother's stories!
This book was all over the place. I mean too unrealistic I almost stopped the book and threw it but I went ahead finished but I would not read this again
I wanted to punch Cyrus in his groin and stamp on his head. Give the woman her freedom and move on. A HEA for the couple, but so far the most upsetting book in the series for me.
"Perfect" is another one of Delaney Diamond's Goodreads. She really brings this novel to life and allows you to love or hate Cyrus Johnson.... Cyrus and Daniella Johnson's marriage is complicated, they have some damage in their relationship that needs work. But has there been to much damage to achieve reconciliation, only time will tell.. The billionaire couple is in denial about their true feelings and are on the verge of divorce, when..... You will have to read the book to find out what happens to The billionaire couple.. I enjoyed reading the newest book by my fave author.
Well Cyrus Johnson is DEFINITELY a controlling bully...but he does take care of those he loves...and despite the separation he loves his wife Danielle...for whatever reason they compliment each other...Cyrus is hard and unyielding...while Dani is soft and accommodating...and somehow in the beginning they made it work...UNTIL Dani finally sees a DARK manipulative side of Cyrus she can no longer deal with...which is why tries to be HARD w/her husband...but despite everything she still loves him...and she doesn't know it but he still loves her too...will there pact to have a baby bring them closer...or will they FINALLY call it quits.
Well I’m liking this series, big bad Cyrus has a soft spot and her name is Daniella. Cyrus and Daniella had been married. When things in there relationship wasn’t working out she asked for divorce. She tried divorcing him for three years, but he kept prolonging it through the courts. Finally he told her if you have my baby, you can have divorce his last play. I’d she wasn’t pregnant in 6 months she could have divorce. But so where along the way things change. A little love and heartache.
I did NOT think I was going to like Cyrus after I read the first chapter but oh boy did that change. I have a love/hate relationship with Alpha males but when an author can weave her story in just the right way...it's love all the way!
For a while I was worried about Cyrus and his cold demeanor. For a man who claimed to love his wife, he had an odd way of showing it. Danielle was kind of spacey air headed in her manner. Even with that going on, it was still a good read.
I originally purchased this book two years ago and I am STILL in love with the characters. Cyrus Johnson is a strong man but Daniella is his peace, heart, and life. Love is hard work but worth it with the right person abs these two prove that!
Cyrus was putty in Daniella's hands they fought each other every chance they had, but they were crazy in love, Baby Michael came at the right time, perfect ending👌 Roland had nothing but empty words
Cyrus was A LOT!!! Honestly it was hard to root for them as a couple because he was very controlling! And the stunt he pulled when he found out Daniella was taking birth control was disrespectful and bordered on rape! I found it hard to understand love after that and for them to never address it again, except that he thought about apologizing definitely rubbed me the wrong way and there was NOTHING romantic about it!
Prior to that portion of the book I was trying to give Cyrus the benefit of the doubt once Daniella talked to the sister and she had a better understanding of him. Cyrus did a lot! Paid the ex-boyfriend off, the stuff with the bank and clearing her loan, being estranged from his wife for 3 years to wanting them to get back together and him automatically wanting a baby and falling in line like none of the other history occurred was very unrealistic! But the straw for me was how he reacted when he found out she was taking BC, he treated Daniella like his child or property!
The love scenes were cute but it was hard to overlook everything else!
I notice a common theme with Delaney Diamonds books in that the families are rich and often times the men treat the women as property! The Brooks Family series showed these themes but were easy to read, this Johnson Family Series has been hard not to be pissed at these men, and when it takes the turn of them acting right you’re already thinking the woman really needs to get away from these men!

As the head of the Johnson family empire, Cyrus Johnson is cold, cut-throat, and charming. Taking after his deceased father of the same name, Cyrus appears to be all business and no emotions in the first few chapters of the book with the only likable quality about him being that he’s a great uncle and big brother. His relationship with his estranged wife Daniella was written as a marriage of convenience. Daniella had everything a man like Cyrus needed in a wife… smart, poise, affluent background and no skeletons in the closet. The author failed to give us any reason to want them to reconcile their marriage. It just made it seem like Cyrus only loved her because it was good for his image. But towards the middle of the story we learn that Cyrus does in fact have a soft spot that only Danielle is seem to pull out and he was just as possessive about his woman just like the Johnson men are. Yes, he’s bit controlling and territorial, but that’s what I love and frankly need in my male heroes. I wish the author would’ve added more romance between the characters but other than that, this book is definitely worth another read and Cyrus has earned a spot on my favorite alpha male list.
Cyrus and Daniella's marriage was not a love match, but a man doesn't do everything in his powers to stay in a relationship with a woman he doesn't have feelings for.
Initially I thought Cyrus was an arrogant, selfish ass, but once we get in his head and also find out more about due to his family, I realized that this is the only way he knows how to get what he wants.
For Daniella, I didn't understand why she would want to resume a friendship of any kind with a man who threw her aside in such an unsavory way (not Cyrus), but not forgive her husband for his role in the relationship ending.
Once they started moving toward a reconciliation I was deeply invested in how this would turn out. The secret Dani was keeping was bound to come out, and I knew it was going to rock the boat. It almost capsized it.
