More Than a Game #5

The Confidentiality Clause

Rate this book
My best friend’s brother needs help. And not just because he’s the most annoying man on the face of the earth.

Brock Jones is the definition of a workaholic. He’s constantly on his phone and barely leaves his office.

This makes everyone who loves him worry—namely, his twin and my best friend, Sutton.

She sends me to check on him, and I find out he’s worse off than anyone thinks.

He begs me not to tell Sutton his secret. I agree, but on one he lets me help him out of this mess.

Now we’re spending more time together than ever before, and my big, dumb heart is starting to fall for him.

Which can’t happen, because I need someone who’s husband material, and Brock has already said til death do us part to his job.

This book had me grinning like a fool the entire time!! It gave me everything I wanted to wrap up the series, though I’m definitely not ready to say goodbye 😭

Ariel is a total girl boss, Brock is absolutely perfect, and together they’re just chef’s kiss. Their chemistry felt so natural, and the banter is unmatched. Annah Conwell knows how to write some seriously fun back-and-forth that fits each character like a glove. I flew through the pages because I just couldn’t put it down!

Brock has been in the background of every book, so finally getting his story felt like the best kind of reward. And let me tell you, it was worth the wait!! Watching him grow, especially with everything he was carrying, made me love him even more. And Ariel was exactly what he needed. She's supportive, strong, and just so right for him.

It was the perfect romcom without the spice, and honestly? It might be my favorite from Annah yet. Definitely going on my re-read list.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
❤️‍🔥 Best Friend's Brother
❤️‍🔥 Sassy Banter
❤️‍🔥 He Takes Care of Her

Finishing the book feels like the end of an era. Little dramatic, but true 😂 I said as much when I did my arc review for The Double Play (can we take a sec to appreciate how fast Annah is getting these books out, it's incredible), but the first book in this series, The Golden Goal, was the third sweet and clean book that I read after getting fed up with traditional romance, and finishing this series is bittersweet. I so thankful for it and so glad that Brock got his own book! Something I was hopeful for from the start (the dedication makes me feel real seen 😂). If you haven't read the more than a game series yet, you want to get to it asap.

Reasons why I (and you'll) love The Confidentiality Clause
📚 The banter. The non stop snark, insults and sass. These two sure know how to press each other's buttons, it's very Sutton/Shaw, but more savage and constant lol
📚 The style. Obviously though, couldn't be Sutton's twin brother or best friend without it
📚 The cameos
📚 The taking care of each other
📚 That we get to see the relationship build after the big moment where they finally get together
📚 The HEA
📚 The epilogue where we go to each couple from each book for a quick look into the lives

Thank you so much to Annah for an ARC of this book

Book 5 of the More Than A Game Series - This book releases tomorrow and I’m so so excited for Annah! This was an amazing way to end her series!!

I have never felt so seen by the first sentence in a book ever 😂👏🏻 the way I snorted and said “same”. The Jones twins are my favorites hands down. Shaw, Sutton, Brock, and Ariel all together are iconic. I absolutely love the bickering and teasing between Brock and Ariel. Their banter is my absolute favorite.

I adored the way Ariel sticks by Brock even when he’s so difficult and self-destructive. There is deep love and commitment there even when it’s not always reciprocated. She loved deeply and showed her love through action consistently. The moment Brock finally had his ah-ha moment was a sight to behold. I was rooting for Brock and wanted him to pull him head out of the sand ASAP. It took his people, his village, consistently reminding him that he is loved and more than his job to finally see.

I cried laughing the entire time I was reading the pedicure scene. I could not contain myself. Poor Brock and his toes. I was dead.

So sad to see this series end, but I’ve loved all the characters and their HEAs have been so heartwarming. Can’t recommend all their books enough!

This is a clean, closed door romcom with no cursing, mild innuendo, and makeouts.

**Thank you so much to Annah for letting me read this ARC. I received a complimentary copy. No positive review was required. All thoughts are my own.**

3.5 stars.

This is a cute story, but definitely not the most realistic or healthy portrayal. I received this as an audiobook advanced reader copy and I think plenty of people will enjoy this. The narrators were great and it's first person-present tense with alternating POV from both main characters.

Ariel's best friend is worried about her twin brother and sends Ariel to check in on him. Brock's not doing great but they agree that he'll work with Ariel to get better as long as she keeps his issues a secret from the sister.

They are both fun characters and it's a sweet story. However, it's a bit shallow and has a lot of things that just don't work for me.

The two characters are both about 24 years old, which is the first part that makes this less realistic. Both own their own homes (Ariel also owns a cabin) and have successful businesses where they make plenty of money. Brock has his own business as a sports agent.

Brock is a workaholic and it makes no sense that he's in the state he is at this age. He went to college. At most, he had three years to build his business and get to this point where he's overworke.d. If he had been in his late 20s, this would make more sense.

This is definitely a story where "love conquers all" and Ariel saves Brock by thoughtfully providing advice and guidance and being patient for him to change. And, of course, he does. In about 2 seconds after being a crazy martyr workaholic for 85% of the book.

Safety deets
- No romantic history shared for either of them.
- Only includes kisses and light making out.
- There is an epilogue where they get their HEA.
- No other women. Ariel tries dating other men, but she's not interested in anyone.

This book was amazing🥹
I absolutely loved everything and especially the character growth!! It was so so good, in the beginning we saw Brock as a workaholic, basically married to his job, but then Ariel came and helped and supported his through this process 🥹🥰 it was so sweet, I loved how she showed him that there is more to life than work and helped him see how much his family and friends love and care for him💗
Brock’s and Ariel’s chemistry was SO GOOD! I loved all the tension and banter, there’s always something special about them teasing each other🤭 One of my favorite moments was when she went hiking and then came back with a wound and he took care of her🥹
These moments where they took care of each other were some of my favorites 🥰
I just cannot believe this series is over!
I literally cried for 14 pages at the end because how in the world is the series over?🥹😭 Annah’s books are so so beautiful, I love all of em, I cannot wait to read more🥹

💟 best friends brother

A great end to the More than a game series that features the workaholic agent who loved to meddle in his male athlete friend's love lives in the other four books and now finds himself unable to resist his twin sister's best friend and her attempts to help him slow down and appreciate what's right in front of him. Sweet with great banter, this was a fun read with great epilogues for each couple included at the end. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this book!! What a great ending to the series! Endings and goodbyes are always bittersweet for me, but this was a grand slam!

I loved the banter between Brock & Ariel (also, both of those names are 🔥). That first kiss scene was so hot 🥵🔥 the tension building between the two was perfectly done.

I loved these two together and I loved the deeper meaning of the book—to show what truly matters, in a workaholic society. It was beautiful! ♥️

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

I will start off by saying I have not read the other books in this series, I do not think you need to read the other books, but I was just unaware this was a series.

This book was not for me. I did not relate to the characters nor that I find them compelling. This is absolutely a closed door romance, where they didn't do more than kiss, which is fine, but I needed more intimacy. I genuinely did not feel the 'love' from this couple and having no intimacy made it difficult to relate or root for this story.

This couple had many 'champaign problems' that were of their own design. A workaholic and people pleasure team up to fool the workaholic's sister into thinking he is totally fine? Sure. Why not. This was not my vibe and the immaturity of the couple did not help the story, in my opinion.

This might be for you if you enjoy closed door, foe enemies to lovers, forced proximity with a side of light kidnapping.

A new favorite by Annah! I just had so much fun reading this!!! I always look forward to Annah’s books and binge them so quick! I loved the characters in this and how they both helped each other + seeing all the characters from the other books in this series! The slow burn was so well done! I loved that Brock and Ariel went from childhood nemesis’s to friends to lovers. It was so sweet and I just loved it!!!

The end of an era ☹️ I’m so sad this series is over but so excited for what Annah writes next!!

Thank you to the author for an arc!!!

In true Annah Conwell style this is a great story with lots of snark, sass and fun banter. Ariel and Brock really know how to push each other’s buttons and they lose no time in doing so. It was fun to see how their feelings and attitudes gradually change. This was a great best friend’s brother romance.

This story will have you groaning and laughing like crazy. So entertaining. Ariel never lacks for ideas to help (torture) Brock. She’s got total control and she knows it.

The readers did an awesome job with their characters. They were perfect for their roles.

First off, thank you so much for letting me be an ARC. This was truly a fantastic book and I read it all the way through without putting it down! The characters were ones we all knew and loved and it was wonderful to see Brock and Ariel find their happily ever afters <3 It just gos to show you that book boyfriends always land on top! The tension and secrets built up the story perfectly and the way Sutton made Brock do things to help him relax was so fun to read and also super sweet. There were times I was swooning and times I was laughing my head off. This book had the perfect amount of competition, chemistry, and insults! 100/10 please go read this book, you’ll thank me later!!

I loved this book! This is the final book in the More Than a Game Series. It’s fun if you have read the other books in the series to revisit characters but it can definitely be read as a standalone! Ariel agrees to check on her best friend’s brother, Brock, who is a sports agent working too much. Ariel finds out that Brock is working so much that it’s impacting his health. They come to an agreement that she won’t tell his sister (her best friend) if he agrees to allow her to help him.

Annah Conwell is one of my favorite authors because her books are very swoony with no spice. I’m so excited to read more of Annah’s books. Highly recommend this series!!

Solid 4.5⭐️ rounded up for the series epilogue that made me cry. 😭💜 For the first half, Brock was definitely a likable character, but it was hard to see how the romance was going to turn around to work out. Also a couple of the transitions happened more quickly than expected in the moment. But LOVE Brock & Ariel and how it all came together.

LOVE IT!!!

I have loved all of Annah’s books and this is no different. The banter between Ariel and Brock is so much fun and the sweet moments are great. Since this is the last book in this series, it’s a slightly bittersweet moment for me to say goodbye to these characters. Without spoiling, I do want to say that I love how she gives a glimpse of all the couples lives in the future at the end of the last book. Annah did that before in the Carter Brothers series and it’s one of my favorites things. I will definitely be reading this one again!

I did receive an ARC of this book, but all opinions are my own.

The banter was very fun! Best friend’s brother is a trope I quite enjoy, and Brock & Ariel had natural chemistry.

I did feel like Brock’s motivations & drive in being a workaholic didn’t feel fleshed out soon enough for me to understand as much as I’d have liked to. But that’s just me. Loved seeing all the friends together again!

The series end epilogue? My heart is puddling. 🫠

The perfect book end to a series. Brock continuously shows up throughout the entire series so finally getting his story was a cherry on top! I absolutely love how these two characters fit together. The banter of course is unmatched, Annah has a way of writing banter in all her books, but each is very specific to that characters personality. This book will be going on my re-read list!

5 Stars
Completed: Oct. 08/25

Series: More than a Game, #5 of 5
Format: audio ARC
Narrators: Chelsea Kwoka and JD Tomlinson -- great job!
Challenge Prompt: CNL’s #41 of 50 — “book that makes you laugh” — this is a romcom

Book #128 of 2025: After a couple of heavy historicals and an intense suspense, I needed something fun, light, and romantic. This clean fiction audiobook absolutely fit the bill!

Ariel does her best friend a favour by checking up on her crusty, workaholic twin brother. She discovers that he is having some health issues, sleeping little, and working excessive hours to build his talent agent business. Ariel feels it's her responsibility to help Brock in his twin's place. Brock needs to achieve better balance in life. So Ariel agrees to keep his secrets from his sister and family *IF* he allows her to help him. His workaholic ways are taking his time from his family and friends, not to mention his health. They make a confidentiality agreement. This causes somewhat of a "forced proximity" trope, along with the "best friend's brother" trope.

I appreciate how their friendship builds and trust grows. They discover they enjoy being around one another and have fun. He even tries to support her in her quest for her happily ever after. Ariel, in stark contrast to Brock, wants a successful career but with a great love, marriage, and children -- without settling.

BUT...AGHAST!!! It does not take long for each of them to discover there is chemistry underneath the barbs and competitiveness! The verbal zingers become chemistry zingers and neither knows quite what to do with it. Now what?!

When Brock has a work emergency, he falls back into bad habits and feels his ambitions are being threatened. Ariel wants to give him room but also will not compromise on what she wants. Will her attraction and draw to him be worth fighting for? Can he put his work as a priority after love, family, and friends?

I appreciate the epilogue summary for all five books at the end. I only listened to the epilogue for this book however. I will be reading books 1-3 before listening to the other epilogues. (I already read book 4 a few months ago.).

The witty banter, the sparks, the fun, the humour, and the life lessons in this book resulted in me rating this clean fiction book with 5 stars. Any book that can make me smile, laugh, swoon, etc. - on repeat - deserves it! If that also sounds good to you, and it should, go and buy or borrow this book!

>>> My thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for providing me with an advance audio copy of this book. The audiobook releases on October 21/25 but the physical and e-book have already been published. I was not required to write a positive review but I have left an honest one and in my own words.

Y’all I cannot believe this is the last book in the “More Than a Game” series 📚 I have absolutely loved spending time with this group and I cannot wait for more to come from Annah 🎀

Ariel. Yall this GIRL 🥹 from the first line I was like “same, she sees me” and holy cow she does 💗 I love how comfortable she was in her skin 👠 and how committed she was to the bit 😂 She loves big and with her whole heart ❤️ and I loved watching her focus that dedication on Brock 🥹

Brock. The whole time I was yelling at him to sleep 💤 meanwhile I’m reading the book at 2am 😂 this man is a flirty MENACE 🤭 I was NOT prepared 🫠 and he is a top Annah character for me. The layers this man has is just perfection 🥹 and was full on cheering at the end. His arc was 💋 chefs kiss 💋

This book was the PERFECT ending to this series 🥹 I loved seeing all the gang together and those epilogues 😭😭😭😭 sobbing.

If you haven’t checked out this series, it is an absolute MUST ‼️‼️

The Confidentiality Clause by Annah Conwell

Annah does it again and completely floored me with this book!

I loved Ariel and Brock! The way they annoyed each other was hilarious and their banterrr was on point!
The tension and chemistry between Ariel and Brock was sizzling, absolutely delicious!

I actually loved how Ariel took initiative to help Brock out. Pushing him to take a step back from his crazy work life. Abducting him for his own good, checking in on him, making sure he actually took the time to eat and sleep. Quite honestly he doesn't deserve her, but he tries his best to prove himself to her.

Brock is the ultimate workaholic. He doesn’t take time for himself and constantly pushes to the brink. I felt for him, how he kept pressuring himself to do more, be better. Only when Ariel, "waltzed into his office in those sky-high heels," did he finally start to slowly take a step back from his overworking ways.

I loved how wholesomely their friendship developed over the first half of the book. Watching them throw barbs back and forth—casually calling each other their rivaling alma mater's name, Duke and Carolina—was so funny. But they had the most tender moments, full of heart and understanding. Of course, there were plenty of arguments too (as you’d expect when someone is trying to force a certain workaholic to change his ways.) Still, Brock shows up for Ariel and proves that yes, he is willing to change and grow for the woman he loves.

I need a moment to acknowledge the friend group in this series. I loved how they rallied around Brock and helped him with the struggles he was facing.

This is the final installment in the More Than A Game series. I have enjoyed following this friend group so much and am so sad to see it end. So, if you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend binging it! (Also jealous that you will be able to read for the first time)

Thank you to Annah Conwell for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
