FIRST BOOK OF 2026!!!
This series continues to make me excited! So much so that I get tunnel vision and ignore so many little things that normally I’d point out in a review. 🥲 But one of the best things about this story (thus far) is probably a first for and series/ book I’ve read. I don’t hate a single character (except my besties step mom but she’s not important enough for me to even get angry) Actually on second though her dad is pretty bad as-well (still not relevant enough for me to care though) This book was a great way to start off the new year and I can’t wait to see what comes next! (Also watching the show rn and MY GOSH they were on those dragons for a LONG time highly would recommend though 👌)

The pacing of this has been on the slower side since the start but I think I’ve read enough to just find it charming and enjoy the slow pace.
Recap: Melphie starts pulling out the magic, is focused and at it for hours, interlude with modern sorcerer in awe of her, she sleeps for 15 hours, Sirius recovers, the two go on an outing to town and she’s wearing the skirt of an engaged woman. She begins to call him his first name. Ends with them going to the forge.

Seeing the Duke and Melphiera going into town together was a nice breather in the story.

Really enjoyed this volume! A lot more world-building.
