Hayden is faced with a troublous dilemma, irrevocably changing her life as she once knew it. She’s homeless. And with funding insecurities, the future of her entire non-profit organization is also at stake. Pregnant and preoccupied, Hayden has serious, calculating decisions to make.
After the blowup with Hayden, life goes on for Ishaan. It’s business as usual. There are still resorts to run, nefarious people to immobilize, and a son to raise without the support of said son’s extended family. But is that all his life now consists of?
Ishaan and Hayden’s complicated journey is messy. However, under the clever workings of an ever-talented and seasoned relationship therapist, in the end, it’s inevitably love.
Publisher’s Inevitably Love. is book TWO of a TWO-book series. This book contains angst, violence, profanity, sexually explicit content, and gory material. If any of these elements is not what you prefer between the pages of a novel, this is not the venture for you.
Love Belvin is a contemporary adult romance author renowned for her emotionally rich and character-driven novels, delving into the complexities of love and personal growth. With over 30 titles to her name, she’s established a significant presence in the romance genre.
Belvin’s writing is distinguished by her focus on deeply flawed characters who embark on transformative journeys toward healing and sustainable love. She conceptualizes her characters as “clients” seeking guidance through the therapeutic process of storytelling, offering readers an intimate look into their emotional evolutions.
Hailing from Paterson, NJ, Love’s passion for romance literature was ignited during her undergraduate studies after immersing herself in the works of the late Eric Jerome Dickey. This inspiration propelled her to begin crafting her own narratives, leading to a prolific writing career.
Belvin’s work is celebrated for its authentic portrayal of Black love, emotional depth, and the nuanced exploration of relationships. Her storytelling resonates with readers seeking narratives reflecting real-life challenges and triumphs in love.
This entire second book was Ishaan moving past his trauma in his past relationships and making space for Hayden in his life. He was completely in love with her and despite him avoiding saying it, his actions were extremely clear. Every step he took was to address Hayden's trust issues. To address her feelings of lack of support and protection. He wanted her to feel and be safe at all times, he tried to create a space where she could thrive and let her guard down knowing he had her back. He even tempered his feelings for her, in order to not scare her off. He slowly eased her into this inevitable love that he felt between them.
In the first book I was on the fence about Ishaan, and that Ebonee situation had me wanting to send him straight to hell 😡 I realize he had made a promise, but to me it took too long to disclose that situation BUT in the end I appreciated how he handled Ebonee's thirsty azz. Ishaan was such a good man; like damn he did everything to make her comfortable, for her to be seen, protected, loved. He gained my respect in this book. Hayden, I gave her grace because her trust issues were a direct reflection of the way she was parented. Her mother was fking clueless and so was her father and that left Hayden clueless with the matters of the heart. I will say she was low-key on my nerves at the same time because do you not see this man moving mountains for you?? No one had ever cared for her like that, so it was overwhelming and scary to feel the feelings she felt and to be dependent on a man. Those trust issues were deep and at times I felt sorry for her, that she couldn't just let go and feel the love.
I appreciated that there were no loose ends, every story line was fully addressed. I love how stealthily Ishaan crept under her skin, before she realized it she didn't want to let him go. I love how he did his best to address her raggedy azz parents. I loved the baby shower scene, it was so sweet and I could literally picture the slideshow 🥹 I loved how Ishaan truly listened to her and he went out of his busy azz way to address every conflict in her life that caused her pain. I know that this was the end, but I picture them married with several more bundles of joy and Mekhi softening to his new way of life. I picture them living a life of love inevitably.
LB my fave, you redeemed the series for me with this book. I do still feel we could have had less mentions from previous books, but I do think the presentation was better in this book.
You all, this story took us on a rough ride over rocky terrain, and yet the story kept calling us to stay the course. Yes, Ishaan was a real one. If you had questions, his boss was AzmirJacobs. What I enjoyed about this story was the well developed characters who were perfect for the storyline... Completely. Hayden had a traumatizing family relationship, which made it near impossible for her to trust a man. She needed Ishaan to see the Real sides of love. The cast from previous books added to the uniqueness of the close-knit characters we've met through this author. Then, there were the love story parts of the story, which solidified the story as top tiered entertainment. Bravo!
This was the conclusion to the story I was hoping for. These two are so incredibly complicated but that endeared them to me. Hayden grew so much in this one, like I’m proud of my girl because to allow yourself to be vulnerable after everything she dealt with was a WIN. Ish applied PRESSURE and showed vulnerability as well. I’m also so glad we got to see and spend time with everyone. I loved this book and I cannot wait to add it to my shelf!
After reading book one, I told myself to just stop there... Obviously, I am hardheaded and don't listen. *insert sigh*
So let's get into it... Love Belvin is a talented writer/author, as evident in much of her work. This series however, is essentially about two smart, resourceful and very financially well off main characters - well at least one of them - who both experienced some level of trauma which apparently rendered them incapable of being forthcoming communicators as told in this storyline. The dancing around the paternity results for a combined total of nearly 20 hours across two books was the most unnecessary immature plot ever - especially since they were both in possession of said results from the beginning. Then coupled with Ishaan adding unnecessary ambiguity when discussing the baby with even those closest to him, including his son, only to then demand respect for Hayden when Mekhi lashed out because he was essentially led to believe something other than the truth, was ridiculous. As was Ishaan serectly planning a whole "outside" baby because of handshake deal with a mentally unstable woman to only then act like he was saving the day by clearing the air for himself, while completely blindsiding Hayden with HIS truth- is giving diabolical and narcissistic. But let's circle back to Mekhi, because although Ishaan should have communicated better, from day one he was raised with an in-house therapist who doted on and loved him and a silver spoon to afford him the best of the best- dispite his bio parents being trash AF - to lash out in a full tantrum about sharing Ishaan with a woman and a baby, at his big age - instead of using his words respectfully, was cringe.
And while I am a fan of peeks into former characters lives, this felt like a character reunion with page after page refrences of them mixed with celebrity name dropping, which became just a bunch of fluff after a while. As was the repetitive references of "sandpaper hued" and "Latin King" look alike. We get it girl, he was light skin with curly hair and tatted up - we understood after the first time it was written. *insert eye roll*
Overall, for the length of this book, a lot of nothing really relevant happened. Yes, they did spend more time together, which ultimately and finally led to true feelings developing and a HEA. But as is this authors way of writing, a lot of randomness unrelated to advancing the main characters forward on page took up the most space. Add to that, a completely missed opportunity of what I actually wanted to see more of on page like: Hadyen's birth story, Mekhi, Ari and Hayden's interactions, Ishaan and Hayden as parents, and Hayden finally truly being set free from her trash AF parents and siblings. *insert another sigh* Unfortunately, this was another one that just wasn't a fan favorite for me.
Love Belvin books will always be ones I try. Books have lost a lot of uniqueness and although the same ( sometimes disturbing) themes reoccur across her books, she spins a unique story.
The DNA was dragged to an unnecessary point. The best parts of the book was the intimate moments that cultivated the couple growing. The trip, the baby shower. All really cute and fun . That monologue to Terry made me want to rip my eyes out , such a waste of space.
Hayden doing that with Ebonee at the end was dumb. I think Muted was the last flawless series. I am hoping Brielles is a lot better. I hope Love finds goes in her bag and produce a flawless series like Ezra.
Love doesn’t believe the SA themes are present in her book but they are and don’t get it because for her to position herself as a therapist in the books without considering the implications of trauma . There is nothing cute about an older woman grooming a younger man to teach them sex . That was Ashton’s story line . There is nothing cute about a woman bragging about oral she learned from sexual abuse. Tori story, Ragee abused and his wife got groomed. Stent Ro with the sleething rape, turned love story. I could see if it added any value to the stories .
This is just my honest review and I hope it gets better!
I like a lot of LB’s series. This one is probably one of my least favorite. It’s a lot of side-eye moments. There are a lot of plot points that are unnecessary. The story is very disjointed and hard to follow at times. My biggest ick is how LB goes over board with the adjectives and descriptions. This killed the flow of the story a lot cause it was distracting. For example, Ish is sucking on a suckers. LB says something like he put the he put the candy in his flesh. That made no sense. Then she would have double descriptors for almost everything: his big muscular meaty hair thighs. Her brown sensual super smooth skin. Every once in a while would have been ok but it was done a lot. The some of her descriptions are unflattering. The way she kept Ish’s eyebrows as straight bushy caterpillars was just a no. Or talking about his hair butt. Or Hayden’s mommy pouch. Then lastly I love a good book universe but I get after reading a few of her series the name dropping of all of the characters, their situations, businesses, name brands, etc from other books is over done. At this point I’m tired of reading about Asmir, or StentRo, or Young Lord. Then I don’t think I like how she throws shots at real life celebs that seemed unnecessary. It was another thing that killed the flow. I was wondering why doesn’t the author like Jamie Foxx? Book one was ok but I had to skim to get thru this one. Which is sad cause I really liked both MCs and was interested in them but there was too much extra noise that often distracted from their love story.
***Spoilers****
The Ebonee issue at the end was stupid and out of place. The grant funding issue was stupid and made no sense. Her cousin could have helped her the whole time?!? The millions of named characters, random and from other series, was distracting. The over use of uncommon words for very basic situations was pretentious. It’s ok to call a finger a finger and not its scientific name for example. The long drawn out conversations about stuff that didn’t pertain to the main story was boring ( i.e. the inner working of Christ cares and of the inner workings of properties Ish managed). And the side plots were either unnecessary or just dragged on too long like the whole Red island locals problem, the Kenny problem, the question about paternity, the Terry and Mandy issue, the Meiji and his bio family issue, Hayden’s trust issues. I would have rather have gotten more interactions between the MCs than to read about those things.
So I’m glad this series is only two books and not three. I don’t think I would’ve read a book three and I hate not finishing a series.
10's across the board!! - I think Ish and Hayden might be my 3rd favorite Love Belvin couple, behind Isaac/Kennedy and Jas/Ashira, IN THAT ORDER.
I'm not going to lie, I have a little bit of PTSD when it comes to LB and the rifts she inserts in the lives and relationships of her characters. The track record is HORRENDOUS! I mean you have Isaac and Kennedy literally not speaking to one another for the entirety of their second book. And worst of ALL, the cracked-out angst that Zoe and StentoRo put us through, literally down to the last 100 pages of their book. I recall Jas and Ashira on some shit too...
So when "In the Meantime" ended the way it did, with Ish cussing Hayden out the way he did, I was terrified that I was going to have to spend the first 300 or so pages dealing with them being insufferably stubborn. I mean...I DID have to deal with Hayden being stubborn, but it wasn't at all what I was fearing.
This book - these books! - are the true definitions of love stories. In Inevitably Love, we got to see Hayden and Ish (really Hayden) start to trust each other and let go of some of their past traumas so they could be open to receiving love from one another. Yes, there were a few hiccups and challenges along the way, but they both finally got to a point where they wanted each other enough to fight through those challenges and consistently choose each other.
Outside of the Inevitable Love - I LOVED getting to get another glimpse into all the different characters we've met along the way on the LBU. Rayna, Azmir, Ashira, Jas, Ragee, Sundriya/Maaz, Leroy, Stent, Lex/Ezra, the list goes on and on.
Speaking of Lex and Ezra, Hayden got a glimpse into some of the sexual proclivities that Lex was into and was so adamant that there was no way Ezra "the Pastor" could be involved, and I kept thinking "GIRL! If you only knew!"
Anyway...not much else to say about this one other than "ANOTHER ONE". Great story, with some of my favorite characters. As always I'm excited for what Love might have up next for us.
These characters made everything so.... complicated for no reason. Couldn't really get into the story, at points it got redundant and confusing. They both got on my last nerve doing the most for no reason. I'm just glad it's over.
Love Belvin did it again! Having Hayden experience freedom from the things that haunted her throughout her life was a journey well written. Her HEA was not a quick or easy one to obtain. “…write or right their story…” is exactly how to describe the challenged childhood, experiences of betrayal, the doubt & chaos they encountered on the road called life. Welcoming Hayden & Ishaan into the LBU was quite the treat! Can’t wait to learn more about them on this ongoing love story. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💐🥰💛💜💚
OK....I felt like I had to go back and reread in the meantime to remember what the heck happened. when I did it put so much in perspective. At the end of this book I was so glad that everything worked out for them but there were so many unanswered questions. Second there was so many descriptions on others that really were not important to what was going on in this story. Hayden was really pissing me off for most of the book. She knew that she hadn't slept with anyone but Ishaan. She knew the baby was his, but she kept playing that maybe card. He did the same thing. He would never give an answer to the question. His mother knew. She could've put everyone out of their misery. Then Kenny, WTF? There was so much to that I can't even touch. Then for him to be sleeping with her "sister" and lying about his relationship with her. Makai, should've been put out of his misery too. Ishaan should have never let what was going on between Kai and Hayden fester the way that it was. He knew what that kid was going through and he let it all come to a head like that. I will also say this I must be dumb AF. I have never had to look up so many words in my life while reading a book. Some of them just didn't belong there. It could've been so much more simple.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Honestly glad things were finalized in this story. I am a true LB fan but this series didn’t hit me as hard as the others. I still felt as if it was too many references to characters from other books just as a way to get you to buy the other books. I get it but really the story didn’t need it. I also thought there were some parts that were overly drawn out. Still a fan though and will gobble up the next book too. 3.5 ⭐️
MY MAN MY MAN MY BABY MY BABYYYYY!!! Ishaan was everything!!! I loved how he loved Hayden and supported her throughout this entire series. There was nothing stopping him from being the father to her baby and the love of her life. I loved the kind of father he was to Mekhi, I loved his relationship with his mom, Dr. Patterson, I loved how he was a boss.
I enjoyed Hayden as an FMC and while her trust issues with men are valid due to abuse and her father’s abandonment, I won’t lie and say it didn’t irritate me at times. Like, LET THAT MAN TAKE CARE OF YOU!!!! 😂😂😂
I am firmly in the LBU, I love LB’s writing. The characters are written with depth and great attention to detail. I be having to go back in the book sometimes bc the tiniest details mentioned at the start gets incorporated into larger plot points & it blows my mind to make the connection! lol
Anyways, FIVE STAR READ 🤩🤩🤩 My favorite series of hers that I’ve read thus far.
Ughhhh. So sad because I love LB’s work but I won’t like everything and that’s okay.
The whole having the paternity results but no one wants to look. Hayden continuously saying “wanna-be baby daddy” and gaslighting Ishaan about the baby possibly being another man’s, and her not wanting him to know her sexual history (as if she was a prostitute in the first place—- girl wasn’t getting no peen) is immature and just weird AF. If Hayden was my friend and called me with that BS, I would’ve told her to do better and hung up on her. It just annoying. I love angst when it makes sense.
And Ishaan planning a baby with ol’ girl? Oh spare me! He lost so many points for that and automatically disqualified himself as a book bae.
This could’ve been in one book. Shoot, I took a break from reading Love’s Inconvenient Truths for this series and I could’ve finished that and had a V8.
The sex in this series overshadowed the actual need for growth and maturity. Both of them were too damn old and intelligent to waste my time like this.
Hayden and Ishaan's complicated journey culminated in a union where everything was put on the table! Once all the running, misunderstandings, lack of communication and covert decision-making was addressed head on, they were finally able to be together and make an informed choice to enjoy each other and just feel! Love Belvin's ability to take on layered clients and get them to a place of putting in the work to succeed never fails. It's a foregone inevitability for this reader!
I loved everything about this HEA! Love Belvin is a one click author for me. I purchase her books reading on kindle unlimited will never do for me!!!! I often have to revisit the journeys she takes us on time and time again. This journey did not disappoint. Surprise baby, unexpected love, hidden identity. I am here for it all. I don't know how she lands the plane every time. MMC was bae! This was a good read!
I did wish it was less talking around the issue of paternity. The length in which this carried was very extreme. Almost to the point of not being needed. Then added in to continue with the “donor” situation with a mentally unstable woman. I don’t care what agreement Ishaan made with Ebonee. He knew how she got down even if Hayden was not in the picture. Don’t even go there with her.
Im glad Hayden now feels safe. She deserves this new life.
Was so looking forward to this book and it was worth the wait. Ishaan and Hayden’s story was very complicated because she had trust and family issues. Great peeping all the characters from previous books. It was like a family reunion. Can’t wait to read who’s next.
I gained a deeper understanding of the characters and plot in the second book. We learned more about Ishaan's backstory and trauma. His affection for Hayden is gentle but consistent. Hayden has become more mature and is learning to trust. Understanding the story's timeline helps you better comprehend the characters. The games they played in Vegas, for instance, resulted in a very permanent situation between two difficult individuals who were dealing with trauma. It takes a lot of healing and development to get to know your "partner" before having a child. That if you even like the person enough to put in the work to change for the better.
It was hard to get over this author's obsession with weight. It feels as if every chapter or every other chapter, had some kind of mention about weight or body image. And it wasn't lost on me how the two plus size characters in the book had low self-esteem, low self-worth, and were constantly talking negatively about themselves. It also wasn't lost on me that one of the positive interactions the main character had with the assistant, was when she was complimenting her about losing all the weight.
This book lacks substance. This novel was based on sex which was their only chemistry. No romance, no suspense, no thriller , and no drama to reel me in
Inevitably Love. by Love Belvin is another 5-star book from the über talented writer. I am a huge Love Belvin fan because she writes full and complete stories with relatable characters that you can connect with, no matter your reality or current circumstances. Hayden and Ishaan are two very troubled characters, yet you want the absolute best for them despite their bad decisions. This makes for a challenging story that can get really dark and emotional.
I loved the character development for both Hayden and Ishaan. I think this is essential to storytelling and Love Belvin hits the mark every single time. Unfortunately, I am reading Love Belvin's work out of order, so I don't completely know the story of the Jacobs' or the Zyads, but I loved learning the bit that I did learn about Rayna and Sundriya. While many of her books are connected, even if only slightly, Love Belvin does a good job at relating characters without giving away the story involving those characters.
I also hope there's a book about Shi-Shi and Jas because I'm interested in them, too. Oh, and Brielle - such a short segment featuring this character but the interaction she had with Ishaan made me want to know more about her character, too.
Though lengthy, which is to be expected with any Love Belvin book, the story[ies] of Hayden and Ishaan together and separately unfolds at the perfect pace, there's the right amount of action, nothing ends quickly or without explanation, and you get the ending you've been pining for - Love Belvin always rewards her readers.
When I finished In the Meantime..., Book 1 of the Complicated Series, I didn't expect to love it as much as I did and the cliffhanger had me STALKING Love Belvin's website and Facebook group looking for updates regarding book 2. The minute book 2 of the series, Inevitably Love. released, I moved it to the top of my TBR (putting down a new K. C. Mills release - unheard of!) and it was 100% worth it.
I highly recommend The Complicated Series to all fans of Love Belvin, but also to anyone seeking a slow to medium paced romance novel with some dark elements, drama, and just the right amount of spice. You won't be disappointed.

This felt like kismet. When you consider the point of life these two were at and what they were going through as individuals, it really was inevitably love. Hayden & Ishaan balanced each other out so beautifully with the way their upbringings and past were so opposite of each other.
After have going through what she went through as a child and still having never fully recovered from it, you can tell Hayden was handled in a way that no one deserves to be. She was hardened early on in life and never got a chance to address it, sit with it, and heal from it. She basically just moved forward from it & tried to operate through life carrying such a heavy load and my heart went out to her so much more reading this story and her journey because of that.
Then you have Ishaan who also went through his fair share of negative things but because he was brought up in so much of an opposite dynamic than Hayden it made him turn out different in a certain way too. He didn’t completely harden, he just became really good at compartmentalizing his emotions and the long term affects of what he went through. The way that Ishaan was really able to embody the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde persona in such a seamless way is what I believe made it so much easier for him to be a cushion of sorts and a shield of armor to Hayden even with him having his fair share of life altering things happen to him.
I think these two were so beautifully a yin and yang to each other that you won’t even care to think twice about their timeline as someone on the outside looking in. Both of their character development went CRAAAZY I tell you. I was just as convinced as all of their village around them that they were meant for each other. The whole time Ish was telling Hayden not to give up the ship and I was ready for her to give up the ship, the crew, and the passengers with it lol.
Leading roles are only as good as their supporting cast so I can’t finish these thoughts without shouting out the oh so lovely Dr Patterson, Ishaan’s mini protector Mekhi, and the best cousin duo in all of the LB land Sundryia and Rayna. To say I loved witnessing the leading man and lady interact with their people would be an understatement. I absolutely LIVE for all the moments of the girls with each other and the other Pattersons grilling Ishaan whenever they could lol. I really love when Belvin brings all the gang from all the other stories together.
Belvin’’s pen drips something different I tell you. She can always get a read, purchase, shoutout, or whatever from me.
I was excited to read this story once it dropped and spent a couple late nights up reading like I didn’t have work in the morning. There’s always something about Love’s books that take me through all of the emotions and keep me glued to the pages.
In this story we finally get to the conclusion of Ishaan and Hayden and I truly enjoyed this ride even though there were times I wanted to reach through the page and shake Hayden’s for her stubbornness. Hayden was a very complex character and I never thought I would find a character I didn’t like just as much as I didn’t care for Shi Shi but also understanding and sometimes sympathizing with her because actions and thought processes knowing the trauma she experienced early in life. Hayden was not trying to budge in her stance to do it all alone and not get help from anyone, even her beloved bestie cousins, but Ishaan wasn’t having it. That man applied as much pressure as possible to get Hayden to see he wasn’t going anywhere and that she could trust him while also knowing he couldn’t go too hard because Hayden was a definite flight risk. I really enjoyed the private moments between Hayden and Ishaan and seeing him work to get her to trust him and not giving up even knowing that it may never happen. My favorite moments were with them on Reds Island and getting to see Hayden finally sorta coming to terms with her true growing feelings for Ishaan and them at the baby shower. I also loved the lengths Ishaan went to make sure Hayden was safe, protected, loved and secured. He was definitely a fixer.
There were some messy moments like what ole girl Ebonee. She was really there to PMO because girl why are you like this, just messy and manipulative. I was also frustrated with Hayden in how she interacted with Ebonee, but again, I understood her actions and thought processes. The paternity “issue” was run into the ground because why can’t Hayden just be honest, but Ishaan never tried to force her hand and I liked that for her. He truly tried to meet her where she was.
If you enjoyed the first book in this series or were even wanting to know what happened next with Hayden and Ishaan after the first book ended, you should read this story. It is well written and will take you on their journey to inevitably love.
Ishaan and Hayden meet under some wild circumstances. He mistakes her for a prostitute, and she—ever the bold, mischievous spirit—decides to go along with it for fun. One thing leads to another, and two separate encounters turn into two unforgettable nights of unbridled passion. What starts as coincidence quickly feels like destiny.
But passion comes with consequences. Hayden ends up pregnant, and suddenly these two near-strangers are bound together for life. Ishaan, an alpha in every sense—protective, bossy, calculating, wealthy, and dangerously sexy—is a man built by discipline and survival. Groomed by his military father, he’s learned to repress emotion and view vulnerability as weakness.
Hayden, on the other hand, is brilliant, beautiful, and deeply scarred. A childhood marked by betrayal, neglect, and abandonment has taught her to trust no one but herself. When she learns she’s carrying Ishaan’s child, she’s forced to navigate pregnancy, homelessness, and the possible collapse of her nonprofit—all while deciding whether she can open her heart again.
Their journey toward co-parenting, friendship, and ultimately love is messy and emotional. With family trauma, trust issues, and two strong-willed people learning to communicate, their story feels like a battlefield full of emotional landmines. But through all the tension, it’s impossible not to root for them as they try to build something real—something inevitable.
Love Belvin does what she always does best: crafts deeply flawed yet beautifully human characters who make you feel. She writes with passion, emotional depth, and sensual fire. Her stories are sexy, raw, complicated, and profoundly moving.
I was completely captivated from beginning to end. Love Belvin doesn’t just tell stories—she makes you live them. This book is emotional, compelling, and, in true Belvin fashion, absolutely unforgettable.
Simply amazing writing that’s sensual, soulful, and stunning on every level. Phenomenal read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It was a beautifully written and truly well-crafted piece of literary art. I am always impressed by the depth of her storytelling and the richness of the characters.
The protagonist, Hayden, was a complex and compelling figure. I admired her strength and resilience in the face of her traumatic life experiences. It was gratifying to see her slowly open up and allow herself to experience love, despite her PTSD brought on by her relationship with her parents.
The relationship between Hayden and Ishaan was particularly poignant. I appreciated the way the author portrayed a black man lovingly taking on the responsibility of caring for another Mandy’s child, even after the way she treated him growing up.
The camaraderie and support among Hayden's cousins was also a highlight. Their unwavering loyalty and willingness to fight each other's battles was inspiring and reminded me of the bonds that Cousins are made of.
Almost each novel has a biblical reference. This is something I look forward to when reading something from her. It’s always thought provoking so the skilled use of scripture and her ability to capture relatable, universal experiences is always impressive. Her writing has a way of uplifting the African-American community and providing insights that resonate deeply.
Overall, this was a captivating and impactful read. Love Belvin is clearly a master of her craft, seamlessly blending elements of urban fiction with deeper themes of growth, healing, and the power of community. I would highly recommend this novel, as well as Belvin's other works, to anyone seeking thought-provoking, well-written, and culturally relevant literature. Classy Timeless Classic Beautiful Contemporary Romance with a flare of urban fiction. It was beautiful. She makes me proud to be a black woman. Happy reading ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Let me get this straight, Boo-Baby isn’t corny but Baby-Boo is, alright lol😏😏?
After reading the first book in this series, it was clear that Ishaan and Hayden had a lot of unfinished business. I was surprised that even after Ishaan behaved the way he did when Hayden and Kenny were at the restaurant together that she didn’t have the resolve to completely ignore him. Yes, yes, I know she was pregnant with his baby, but she was talking big shit about raising the baby alone.
Anyway, once she found herself in his office after all of the commotion I knew she was hooked. No matter how much she tried to convince everyone else, her nose was wide open. Her insecurity with men did create a distraction at times, but it didn’t derail their progress too much.
As far as Ishaan goes, he exhibits the alpha characteristics that Belvin’s heroines lovingly yearn for lol. I’m not mad at it. Ain’t nothing wrong with an attractive and mysteriously dangerous savant turning their lives upside right.
Now, I was taking aback by the way Ishaan handled the Mekhi situation. It felt like he wanted to be patient, but he was forcing the whole “liking Hayden” issue. The adults could barely get their shit together. What else can you expect from a 17- year old who is so attached to his father, but I digress?
The title is fitting. Inevitably, beyond the familial issues, internal struggles and outside distractions, love will most times make itself apparent.
Hayden and Ishaan are made for each other, giving each other things that they thought they could live without. So much is revealed about their pasts to make way for their presence and future. Ish shows how a real man steps up for the right woman. And Hayden shows how being loved the right man can help you overcome your limitations and hangups.
The story is weaved and woven like the tangled web the author is known for. So many intricate sides and polished details. It provides clarity on a lot while exposing you to more details about the characters, showing their development, strengths, and vulnerabilities. You are built a full picture into the lives of the characters and how they tackle and trounce their calamities. I enjoyed this series because it shows how the perceived good girl can step outside of her box and do some bad girl's things, leading her to the best things that happen to her. The story displays the juxtaposition of a good person while airing their bad, protective side, doing whatever to keep those they love happy and safe. I love Hayden and Ishaan together because they do like the songs says and "bring out the best in me!" Their hearts are finally running free together because after all, it's inevitably love.
