This is part one of a three book collection centred around alpha female Scarlet and her relationship with three of her guests. Each book is a prequel that introduces you to the characters, but there will be loose ends and unanswered questions that hopefully pique your interest and open the door to their own books.
Rock and Scarlet's story is not a romance and there is no HEA.

This isn't my first read by this author and so I was well aware, going into this, what to expect!

Although as you know, I never read blurbs before reading!

 

So, this is Scarlet and Rock's story and this took quite a curve away from some of the other omegaverse stories that I've read so far.

 

We were back in Knottinghill, so we do see some familiar faces here, but only a brief glimpse before we launch straight into meeting our main characters proper.

 

I loved the contrast between Rock and Scarlet - he, a rich and famous actor, here, paying for her services.

She, working at the club to pay off her debt to avoid prison time.

Over their many weekly 'meetings', the pair had formed a firm friendship aside from their role-play - but it becomes very clear from our dual pov chapters, that there is a huge imbalance in their thoughts and feelings about each other.

 

I think this is the first time that I've come across two alpha's together, so the spice was a little more brutal than before, with each fighting for control and although there's a fair percentage of spice throughout, this doesn't overpower the underlying storyline and getting to know our characters in more depth.

 

This, I believe, forms the start of a mini series featuring Scarlet, so don't expect this to come to a natural conclusion.

We're left on a cliff edge and with a fair few questions that I can't wait to get answered in the other books.

 

I'm already looking forward to seeing who appears at Scarlets door next....and what they might bring to the party.....

So this starts off super good and grabs your attention from the jump with the FMC’s backstory and how we got to where we currently are…but then when we get to the interactions between the FMC and MMC of this one I really started wondering which one of them was more delulu than the other. I think the MMC was just infatuated with the FMC so had those rose colored glasses ALL THE WAY ON…then we have the FMC who’s doing what she has to do to earn money for when her contract is up. Which there was a ton of “spice” to the story but going back and forth between the characters pov’s and them both feeling VERY different things i feel like it took away from the steaminess of what was going on.So when she finally figures out the MMC is in deeper than she is she pumps the breaks and is like that’s not what this is,but is too focused on the dollar signs he brings to the table she starts playing the part and is definitely giving the MMC mixed signals. It’s like play stupid games win stupid prizes and she was definitely playing a stupid game that would have had some permanent consequences…so by the end of the story I was just kinda like huh?! Like I knew it wasn’t an HEA before I went in but I just finished it confused

When you are down to the worst options you choose survival

This story is super intense. Don't expect a HEA from this one. Scarlet's happiness lies elsewhere.

Rock is a famous actor who pays extremely well for time with Scarlet. Scarlet thought they were building a great friendship but it seems Rock may not be on the same page.

I'm super excited to see what else will come from this series. What about that orange scented beta?

This is another great book by Abby! This was full of smut and drama. I liked this one! I think Scarlet is my favorite. She is so strong! I enjoyed the story and the plot. It was so good!

WOW that was intense. The whole plot has so many ways to go. I can't wait to see who the next male/ female is that gets involved with Scarlett. What an outstanding snippet to a new series.

Wow that was definitely a good ride. The plot a lot of twist and turns that this can go so many ways. I love Scarlet, a lot actually and she is top fkn dog here. I love that this is setting me up for me to come. I'm excited to see where this series goes. Also who the next female or male will be to enter Scarlet's life sexually, this is going tk be a fun fkn ride I can feel it.
