They erased their memories, rewrote their names, and made them beasts. Now, the hunt for vengeance begins.
Chief Aiken Oakley and Chief Styles Sawyer—two of the US Navy’s most elite Special Warfare Combatant-craft officers—vanished after their mission was ambushed in South America and later presumed MIA.
Captured by the Raven’s organization, a covert assassin program, Oakley and Sawyer are stripped of their past, their memories, and even their names. They are subjected to inhumane experimentation and injected with predator DNA that transform them into primal, lethal weapons… and are now known only as Valor and Zorion.
After breaking free from the program’s control, Valor and Zorion train themselves to master the beasts within them—pushing their minds, bodies, and instincts to the edge.
But to take down the corrupt organization, they’ll need more than strength, fury and an appetite for revenge. They'll have to form uneasy alliances with the two other deadly Raven units—the strategic, silent Browns, and the ruthless, unpredictable Blacks.
Together, these assassins must unite against the program that created them... and destroy it before it creates something worse.
Black, Brown, and Green Ravens… The organization turned them into weapons, and now they’ve come back for war.

Like the headline suggested, this book started off so well…
Here’s the thing, I loved the Black Ravens Book and parts of the Brown Ravens book for what they brought in terms of action and relationship development
However, the whole “Secret Order” arc just threw me off. The writing was so stilted and read a bit manufactured to me, it didn’t flow.
When they got back to the action and taking down the bad guys, things started to make sense again.
So yeah, I hope the next book sticks to what made me love the Black Ravens and stays away from all the other things.
The sci fi elements in this one dial up a notch further form the first one. The world building is as spectacular and there is an element of super heroes and villians that lends intrigue and action and fast paced adore line driven scenes. The lines of good and bad are clearly defined and the Order comes out to play a lot more. The first half is actually really well done in building Sawyer and Oakley’s connection and the second half has tons of lore to keep you engrossed. The Order, the Blacks, the Browns all fight for the good of the world and the battles are quite epic. There is a fated mates elements to romance that was interesting. 3.5 ⭐️
Oakley and Sawyer/Valor and Zorion are Navy Chiefs sent to the Amazon on a mission that goes FUBAR. Together they are listed as MIA when they are captured by The Ravens. They are subjected to forced enhancements which leave them with amazing abilities but no memory of their previous lives.
This book was hard to put down and i found myself resenting needing to sleep. It's an action packed story that kept me invested the whole way through.
There were twists and turns as the pair fight for justice and try to figure out who they can trust. I'm loving this series and I look forward to reading about the White Ravens.
3⭐️ This one leaned more into the sci-fi side, which I usually love, but I didn’t think it was executed all that well. Soldiers kidnapped and experimented on against their will, memory wiped, DNA spliced with animals; definitely intriguing. I mostly skimmed the secret society/order parts, which felt odd and rather boring to me. That said, I really appreciated getting to meet our MCs, Chief Aiken Oakley and Chief Styles Sawyer, before they were taken. Seeing who they were to each other before their memories were erased made their coming together that much more satisfying. Even if the secret society stuff didn’t grab me, I’m still interested in the next book...The White Ravens.
So Green Ravens is the second book in the Ravens Series. It is a M/M romance that's basically about supersoldiers and one of it's narrators is Aiden Snow... consider me sold!
I thought book one was great, and loved the browns but the greens definitely one my heart. The banter was fantastic in the beginning and I'm so happy that in a way they basically get a HEA even after being turned into animalistic supersoldiers.
If there ends up being more from the ravens, I will definitely check it out!
Both narrators are fantastic but I just personally love Snow!
I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.
Should've re-read the first book first and then this one straight after. Got confusing since the blurb is pretty much just a summary of the whole book and the events run parallel. A lot of time skips and sex. Established couple kidnapped for experimentation, reconnected and continuing on with their relationship despite not having their memories. Felt like a choppy slideshow passing each stage to get to the creation of the brotherhood. Looks like the white ravens are up next.

I have loved each book in The Ravens so I knew this would be no exception. I really enjoyed his this book went into how they were experimented on and the reason behind it. It will be so good hearing how all of them will work together in the next book but I gets there's going to be huge clashes of personalities.
Damnit A E you have to stop doing me like this, the beginning chapters got to me and the rest just did me in. Omg, the way the Black and Brown Ravens came about and then you read about Valor and Zorion, it broke my heart. I loved the paranormal aspects in this book and how she wove it throughout the book. The two MC’s had to work hard for their HEA and that they always remembered they were honorable men. Which brought about them interacting with Lion and Omega, I absolutely loved this. Ms. Via keeps things interesting and add twists to her books that makes you want to drink her books like water.
It was nice to see some of the background of the 2 MCs who were turned into the Green Ravens. We see them as boat chiefs attempting to rescue some SEALS when one boat is torpedoed and all are killed except Oakley and Sawyer. They try to make their way through the Amazon jungle to get to the rescue point. However, when they stumble upon civilization, its the team of scientists who are turning men into the new fighting class of warriors. We see some of the transformation for the 2 men and one of their missions where they meet the Black and Brown ravens. I was surprised that the original team didn't do more to find Oakley and Sawyer once they escaped. There was a brief mention of it but if they were so valuable I would have expected more of a search.
I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and was very well done. It starts off with a bang pretty quickly and is a little different from the Brown Ravens, at least how it all starts. Oakley and Sawyer meet the day/night before a mission as they are both Navy boat rescue officers and the chemistry is pretty high right off the bat and the connection is there as well. On the night out, a little something something happens between them with the knowledge that they both want more and are planning for it after the mission is over. But then things go all bad on the mission and the two end up in the rainforest on their own, with their men dead, and trying to survive. They end up captured by the Raven's organization and experimented on with their memories stripped from them as well as their past and names. They are also injected and enhanced with predator DNA, highly experimental. The connection between the two of them couldn't be completely wiped though and once they are allowed to see each other again, while they don't have all the pieces, they have that intense connection and want to be together and protect each other. Their predator animal DNA are on different spectrums and would normally be enemies but that connection surpasses that. They are determined to escape together and take down the corrupt organization. This story was well done and I really enjoyed getting to see more of the beginning of Oakley/Valor and Sawyer/Zorion. This is the second book in the series and it does have some overlap timeline wise which lets us figure out our Green Ravens and what makes them who they are. We also then catch back up and get to see them interact with the other Ravens and discover and take out the corruption in the organization. This story definitely has some tension with it with everything happening so it does keep you on the edge wanting and needing more but it is well paced. I loved seeing Valor and Zorion adjust and grow together and separately and still hold onto the core of who they are with their values. The story was well written and the overall set of the series and story is a little on the darker side as it is about assassins and the darker side of humanity to a point with the forced capture and experimentation but I didn't think it was really dark as our main characters have a strong moral code and are protectors and on the side of justice. I loved the two of them together and the level of connection that they have and built. I can't wait for the next book in the series! I need it as soon as I can as I loved the little tease of the next ones, the White Ravens, and where the series is going! Super excited for it! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I've been curious about the Green Ravens since their introduction in the last book, but I had no idea how deep their journey went. These courageous men survived the unthinkable not just once but twice and somehow came out stronger on the other side. I got invested in their story effortlessly, and though the leadup to them becoming Ravens was full of grief and betrayal, knowing Valor and Zorion had each other was what kept me going in their darkest moments. This book was a deeper dive into genetic manipulations than the prior story, and it was fascinating to observe the duality of Zorion and Valor's animal instincts and human intelligence. It was clear that the two were drawn together like magnets, and even with fractured memories and new powers flooding their systems, the place they felt the most content was in each other's arms. At their core, both Valor and Zorion were upstanding men of integrity, and no matter what the Ravens threw at them they retained those principles. This time there was no question about whether the Ravens were benevolent or corrupt -- their rotten core was front and center of Zorion and Valor's experience. I was rooting hard for the two of them to escape and make their own way in the world, and while that's not exactly what happened I was thrilled to see the Aga Khan organization resurface and their purpose be unveiled. Zorion and Valor were rock solid for the entire book, and it truly felt like it was them against the rest of the world a handful of times. I enjoyed seeing their group of allies and truces grow throughout the book, and though I have a lot of questions about the duo who popped up at the end of the story, I'm satisfied with the path Valor and Zorion are on and I'm confident they're fulfilling their life's purpose.
**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
Valor and Zorion were military men who were captured and experimented on. Their DNA was mixed with that of predator animals to create super assassins. They train to hone their new abilities and then escape. Now, they want revenge.
This is a fabulous series. I was unaware of the 'sci-fi' aspect when I started reading it ( the first Ravens are introduced in the Nothing Special series). I was pleasantly surprised when I found out how the Ravens were made. This book is intense but I would not consider it dark.

spoiler synopsis military men who meet at a bar. They both lead their units during a failed mission and as the vessels were attacked, Valor dove into the water to save Zorion.
The man survived. Valor got them to shore and they trudged through the jungle only to come across an encampment with American scientists. Unbeknownst to them, they stumbled upon dangerous people who experimented on them. Merging their DNA with that of animals to create super soldiers. Valor and Zorion were honed into fierce assassins. They allowed it because they were biding their time until they could escape. They found an ally who helped them escape.
They trained to embrace their animal instincts and abilities until they could hunt down the man who did this to them.
Valor and Zorion meet the Blacks and the Browns and together they bring down the evil Raven organization. While infiltrating the Raven facility, another set of Ravens is discovered but they escape, the Whites.

This is book 2 in the Ravens series. While you could enjoy it as a standalone read, I would recommend reading Black and Brown first. As with most books by this author, this was an intense and action packed story. I enjoyed how we see them in the beginning as Chiefs Aiken Oakley and Styles Sawyer. The interaction between them before these elite Special Warfare Combat specialists are injured and presumed missing during their Op. Seeking help, they unfortunately come upon the wrong people. Scientists subject them to inhumane experimentation. They are injected with predator DNA that transform them into primal, lethal weapons… and are now known only as Valor and Zorion. All of their memories are gone. Who they were, their names and their previous life. Their new life starts now. This is their story. Honestly, if reading the book blurb doesn't want to make you read this book, I have no idea what will. The book is well written. It has a lot of emotion and action. You will be cheering for them as they break free and become their own team. While the evil ones may have manipulated their DNA and memories, it can't change the inner strength, core and values that they both retained. Together, nothing is impossible. I received a complementary advanced review copy of this book from GRR and I am voluntarily leaving a review. I read this book in one sitting. It packs quite a punch but in the best possible way.
This series has completely hooked me, and this book just deepened my love for this world even more. If you haven’t read the earlier books—seriously, go back and start from the beginning. You’ll want all the history before diving into this one.
We finally get the full story of the Green Ravens, and it was everything I hoped for. Valor and Zorion’s journey is intense. Captured by the Raven’s assassin program, stripped of their pasts and turned into living weapons with predator DNA, they had to claw their way back to themselves. Even after everything—losing their identities, being forced to survive as monsters—they still found each other. Watching them push their minds and bodies to the edge, battling not only their enemies but the beasts inside themselves, was absolutely gripping. These two are fierce and dangerous, but their connection? It’s real, raw, and impossible to ignore.
And then the action—wow. Once they break free and team up with the other Ravens? Forget putting this book down. The Black, Brown, and Green Ravens coming together to take down the corrupt organization that made them? I was glued to the pages. And then we get our first glimpse of the White Ravens, and now I’m counting down the days until their story drops.
A.E. Via never misses. These characters, this world—it’s all so vivid and alive. I already know I’ll be rereading this entire series again because it’s just that good.
Chiefs Oakley and Sawyer had just met when they had to work a combined mission which ended in an ambush, leaving them stranded and presumed MIA in South America. Having lost both their entire teams, they have to depend on each other to survive the harsh conditions, while dealing with disfiguring injuries.
As they find what they believe is a research camp, hoping to be able to call for help, they end up being captured by The Ravens Organization, a covert military assassin program. Undergoing extensive treatment which involves modifying their DNA to combine it with that of apex predators, they are stripped of their identities and memories, known only as Valor and Zorion.
Despite their modifications, and not knowing who the other is to them, they can’t deny their connection, and as they escape the facility and begin training to unleash their fury on those responsible for their current state, they vow to do it side by side, refusing to let go of the other piece of their soul.
I received an early copy of this audiobook from NetGalley, and just like book 1 in the series, I really enjoyed it. I loved seeing the connection between Valor and Zorion endure, even despite the treatments that should ensure otherwise. While the first book was centered on the Browns’ daily lives within the Ravens organization, I appreciated that this one was focused more on the plans to dismantle it, and I can’t wait to see how things play out once the Whites get involved!
"The Ravens had stripped them of their names, erased their history, and rewired their DNA."
First, a confession... I started this series with this book, which is book 2 in the series. I wasn't confused in the least and this seemed like the first book in the series to me. After I finished listening to this one I immediately got book 1 in audio, I want to know more about the blacks and browns and what their journeys were like.
What a great book, I loved it!!! The two narrators did a fantastic job, the plot was original, it was everything I wanted but didn't know to ask for. If you loved this author's Blue Moon series and the Beastmasters, you are going to love this series!!! I felt a familiarity with this book that I couldn't quite put a finger on, now I have to go back and listen to the Blue Moon series again. Very sneaky AE Via, very sneaky indeed.
The world building was amazing and I can't wait to listen to book 1 and now I'm anxious for book 3, White Ravens, to come out. So much action and intrigue, I had trouble walking away from this. I'm so glad I had the audiobook since I could take it with me and listen while doing other things.
Two Naval chiefs MIA during a retrieval, DNA mutation testing using predator DNA, brings the action and the heat
Not since I first read Nothing Special have two of Adrienne’s characters hit me as hard as Aiden and Sawyer. We first met the Greens at the end of Black and Brown: Raven Assassins. Like the Browns, this is the story of how Valor and Zorion became the Greens and the horrific things that were done to Aiden and Sawyer to turn them. It is also her story about redemption and hope before revenge. I can’t say more to avoid spoilers but there were also a few teasers to lend hope for a third release. Could this be read as a standalone? I would advise going to the beginning. Technically that is Black and Browns. However, the story really starts with Nothing Special VII, Ex:Meridian and while much of the background has changed from that origin story it’s a good place to start. Then the Blue Moon Trilogy, which is now available as a box set introduces Lion and Omega and the Order in book three which becomes very important in this series. That is followed by Ex Meridian: A Black Raven’s Valentines Short: Prequel to the Black Ravens Series. This little gem will prove very important to the storyline as we go forward. Is this book five stars? I would give it ten
I thought that the Browns were the two characters that would stick with me the most but these guys certainly gave them a run for their money! I found this second book to be much more emotional than the first; the extended 'part one' section really showed a lot of depth to Oakley and Sawyer before their abduction into the Ravens. I was invested in the start of their romance and their journey through the jungle. I also felt it when that was ripped apart with their transformations. I loved how they clicked with each other and how protective they were. I enjoyed the submissive streak in Zorion but also how fearless he was. Valor was bold, caring and such a great character to narrate key parts of the plot where we got to see his though processes. The world building was much further developed in this story, it had good pace, plenty of action and introduced new secondary characters. I can't wait for the 'whites' story as I'm sure it'll be explosive. Overall, a great continuation of the series.
Green Ravens - Raven Series book 2 - AE Via Valor & Zorion
I read this straight after finishing book 1. You could read as a standalone, but I suggest you read in order, to help understand what’s going on.
I loved the first part of the book where they were in survival mode in the Amazon. Survival trope is one of my favourites. They then were kidnapped and experimented on without consent and turned into super soldiers. Once they escaped, they were further trained by their rescuers. They were waiting to seek their revenge.
I really enjoyed this series, and I am going back to read the Nothing Special and especially the Ex Meridian books.
Tropes: Dark, lost in Amazon, survival, Kidnapped, Captive, Escaped, Forbidden, Violence, Assassins, Ex Military, Forced Proximity, secret Gov Lab, experimented on, Workplace, Injected with Predator DNA, Primal, Established Couple, Revenge, Protective, Super soldier, Gov Conspiracy
I received an ARC from GRR, and this is my honest review.
🎧⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🎧 Thanks to NetGalley & Tantor Audio for allowing me the chance to listen and review this book early.
Oakley and Sawyer, aka Valor and Zorion, are Navy Chiefs who get shipped off to the Amazon, and let’s just say… the mission does not go according to the brochure. One minute they’re doing their jobs, the next they’re MIA and in the hands of The Ravens, getting force‑upgraded like someone hit a button that said install all enhancements without reading the terms and conditions.
It’s nonstop action, tension, of who we can trust? The twists? The turns? The justice‑seeking duo with zero chill? Loved every messy, high‑stakes minute. But through it all, they connected, and I was so here for their love story. Smoken' hot yet touching at the same time.
This book had me in a chokehold. I didn't want this book to end, and now I have to wait for the next installment!?!?! I’m already hyped for the White Ravens storyline.
Green Raven was an amazing ride!!! Chief Aiken Oakley and Chief Styles Sawyer two of the US Navy’s elite Special officers when MIA after a very dangerous mission, after days surviving they encountered a camp where they were captured and experimented on by the Raven’s organization, they created assassins. Sawyer and Oakley were injected with predator DNA that transform them into lethal assassins. They forgot about their past but their connection between them is more strong.
Now Sawyer and Oakley are Valor and Zorion, two very strong and very intelligent beings who wants to control their own destiny and break free of this organization and bring down everyone who was involved into their kidnapping and change.
I loved how this story plays out, since they meet both Sawyer and Oakley were attracted to each other but they have a mission and they didn’t fool around but since they found together trying to survive they shared so much and they developed a strong bond and after everything they went through and still feeling that bond was amazing! I like how things developed between them and the other Ravens, how they seek justice and how they are able to also enjoy their freedom and relationships. I can’t wait for more of this series!
I am up in the air about this one. I love the context of the series but something I can not put my finger on is missing in this book. When I compare it to the Brown Raven book which I loved, I think what is wrong with the Greens is there is too much back story. There is not a lot of back story in the Black and the Brown books. What I do like is Omega and Lion being part of the story line. I also like Ex and Meridian, and Grace and Mirage being included. I think if more of the story were centered around the Ravens helping Valor and Zorion regaining what they lost, it may have been a better story line. Don't get me wrong, I love Ms Via and she is my favorite reread author. However this is the first book out of everything she has written that I am not crazy about.
The fist book in the series ends on a cliffhanger. The second book takes a step back and is about how the Green Ravens came to be. It's the story of 2 soldiers who are the only survivors of a mission gone wrong that escape through the Amazon jungle. They run across some scientists, who, it turns out, are part of the Raven organization. They are captured, infused with panther/hawk DNA and turned into super soldiers. They meet up with the Blacks and the Browns about 80% of the way through the book, and advance the plot to take down the original Raven organization.
You really need to read book#1 first - although you might be able to get through this one without it, but it would be nowhere near as fun. There's lots of action and lots of plot to go with the romance. I'm looking forward to the next one.
The Green Ravens start off with heart pounding moments that will leave you breathless and it does not slow down. These two men go through so much throughout the book but you never stop cheering for them to make it to their HEA. You will find some familiar people and so much will be discovered that was never imagined in the previous books. Looking forward to more Ravens!
I’ve been reading A.E. Via since Blue Moon was released and am left in awe of her ability to create worlds full of people, good and bad, that always keeps you entertained. Her worlds are full of life and you will always look forward to returning to her worlds. Green Ravens is no exception so welcome to the world of the Ravens again.
Sawyer and Oakley met and then had a mission that went so wrong. And from the ashes Zorion and Valor are born. Green Ravens is the latest in A.E. Via's Ravens series. I enjoyed getting to know the green ravens. They came into this life through corruption but it did not change who they were. I will admit that this story started out a bit too slowly for my taste but as we learned more about Rio and Val I fell in love with who they are...together and apart. They survived what few did and kept their honor. I loved seeing them rise above their current circumstances and maintain a devotion that surpassed attempts to tear them apart. Ms. Via continues to weave stories that engage and enthralled. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next.
sit down, buckle up and hold on. This book blew my mind. To say it was amazing is an understatement.
What I like about this one. The full circle effect she does by bringing past characters (not other ravens) into the story line. I also enjoyed how she "parted" this story. The before modification, the during and after. - without having it feel blocky. She blended that parts beautifully.
Within a few pages she has you captivated and ready to binge and end up with a book hangover the next day.
I would recommend reading the Ex and Meridian, The Blue moon series and other ravens. Not completely because A) they are awesome, but B) youd understand where the other characters come from.
wholeheartedly recommend. This one will be added in all formats to my book shelves.
Another amazing book in the Ravens series by the fantastic author A.E. Via. A journey of two souls that are connected even after their memories are wiped and their DNA altered when they where forced into the Ravens program. Sawyer and Oakley meet the 1st time the day before a mission and feel an instant attraction. When the mission goes to shit, the two of them are stranded in the jungle trying to survive and find a way back. They get captured and end up in the Ravens program. Even though they only know each other for a day and after weeks and months of experiments they remember nothing of their past selfes. They still feel the connection to each other. Their goal is to escape the Ravens facility and be free.
Chief Aiken Oakley and Chief Styles Sawyer are two of the most elite and formidable Naval officers and they have led their teams to several operations successfully. They never thought that there would come a day where their teams will get attacked and they would be presumed MIA by their superiors as well as seeing their teams being bombarded with explosives and scattered all over a river in South America. But that day did come and these two brave men had to survive the jungle for a few days bef0re they found what they thought was salvation. It turned out to be a group of scientists who were experimenting on humans being infused with animal DNA. These two heroes were stripped of their memories, identities and humanity. They were experimented on and became a mix qualities of the animals they were injected on, with no memories of who they were in the past.
This is my favorite of all the Ravens so far because it showed who Valor and Zorion were before they became the Green Ravens. It showed them being human. It showed them being vulnerable and just being themselves, caring, thoughtful and so attracted to each other. It hurt me when they were experimented on, when they started losing their humanity, but I think because they found each other during the process of all these, that their humanity somehow survived the onslaught of all the experiments. Although they could not remember their past, being with each other somehow made their current situation tolerable as long as they are together in it.
Finding out the real situation through the help of someone who belongs to a higher organization helped them see the reality of what they are being groomed for. Helped them focus on what their focus should be on. It somehow helped them become who they are supposed to be, not the Green Ravens as they were meant to be, but as Valor and Zorion who will save all the other Ravens from the organization who were meant to control them and use them to kill.
Amazing read Ms. Adrienne, I love it so much and I cannot wait for the story of the White Ravens!
This is an interesting addition to the Ravens series and really gives a deep look into the Ravens and where they came from.
I really liked the connection between Sawyer and Oakley right from the start and that it continues as they become Zorion and Valor - no matter what they lose, that connection they have stays.
I feel like this story was different than what I was expecting but I did enjoy it overall and it does give a lot of insight into the Ravens. I did love that there was the intensity and passion I’ve come to expect from AE Via’s men - these guys definitely deliver. I also liked seeing the other Ravens come together - talk about intense - and I’m looking forward to seeing more of them and learning about the Whites.
