Arwyn, our favorite artist and Sea Wicche, is trying unsuccessfully to deal with two new descriptors: murderer and mother.
The gallery is open, and the sorcerer is gone. Arwyn and the whole Corey clan should be celebrating. Instead, they’re mourning a huge loss and now dealing with the Council of Wicches over a poisoning.
Lessons have begun with Dad. All the things a little faeling should have already learned, Arwyn is now being taught. And just in time, as the queen—cryptically and rather terrifyingly—told Arwyn that she has plans for her.
While trying to juggle all of that, and work on a huge order of glass octopuses, Arwyn is also drawn into another deadly police investigation. Send Arwyn your good thoughts because she really needs a nap.
She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, two daughters, two dogs, and one fish. She comes from a long line of storytellers. She's just the first to put them in books. She's an avid reader and re-reader who misses her favorite characters when it's been too long between visits.
She's represented by the delightful Sarah E. Younger of the Nancy Yost Literary Agency
“You were born to shine brightly in this world. Don’t dim yourself to make others more comfortable.”
Arwyn is used to taking care of herself. However, things in her life have changed dramatically. She's mated to a werewolf, newly pregnant with his baby; she has a growing relationship with members of her family including Bracken and her father; and she's part of the Three - a member of the Corey Council with her mother and Faith.
Her pregnancy has brought its own struggles: Declan's overprotective instincts and feeling a bit uncertain about how the pregnancy will progress considering their mixed natures. Thankfully, Declan is aware of not only his intensified protectiveness, but also her ability to handle whatever the wicked world sends her way. Now, they must work through both and find a happy middle ground.
On the magical front, they'd all hoped for some peace from the demonic; they'd destroyed the grimoire and the sorcerers doing black magic. But, with Calliope gone, the Swan family members are trying to create their own black magic by killing animals and people, which cannot stand.
The Detectives Hernández and Osso come a'knockin' for Arwyn's help, as usual, but this time Declan's there to remind her that helping them doesn't need to mean inconveniencing herself. They can wait for her to be available instead of her dropping everything to help immediately. Declan's doing his best to make sure Arwyn takes care of herself, first and foremost.
I love the character growth throughout the series, as well as the inclusion of characters from the sister series, Sam Quinn. Arwyn's nature is unique and interesting - a part-fae Cassandra wicche with psychometry. I'm jealous of her sea wicche abilities - I wanna talk to orcas and starfish and swim with sealife without needing an oxygen tank. It's great seeing members of her family finally appreciating her abilities and welcoming rather than shunning her. I look forward to the birth of their baby and learning what the fae queen wants with Arwyn and her growing family (coming in the next book, Wicche Moon in April 2027).
A good installment to the series. If you liked the others you will like this one as well. This book was more cozy than mystery. It focused on her pregnancy and family more than the ‘bad guys’ who weren’t really a threat. While this is big on feeling good it lacks any real thrill or threat to overcome. It does show Declan being a dream partner.
Outstanding series. Another winner by Seana Kelly. The author deftly balances magic, love, mystery, and excitement. Arwyn and Declan are surrounded by such a wonderful family and good friends to fight some not so wonderful twisted branches in the family tree. I’m have been so happy with Bracken staying around - such a wonderful addition. I bought the paperback for my keeper shelf and bought the Kindle edition to keep on me.
Arwyn destroyed the Corey sorcerer that was targeting her, but now she has to deal with some more wicked wicches. They might not be sorcerers, but they are evil, and Arwyn is pregnant with her werewolf partner’s cub. Then there are the murders her police friends are dealing with, and a few bad seeds in the family- it’s life as normal for Arwyn!
This book brings us back to Monterey, and Arwyn’s hectic life- which is complicated by a pregnancy she doesn’t know how long it will last. Between hormones and visions, she has a lot on her plate, but she also has some new, close bonds with people willing to help.
This is another enjoyable and fast paced story in the sea Wicche world. It picks up where book three left off, and even has a couple of cameos from the author’s other books in this world. There is a lot of magic, and some shenanigans of the magical kind, making for an enjoyable and entertaining read. I love Seana Kelly’s world, and the richly realised magical system within it. Her characters are interesting, and delightfully imperfect, even as they are magically or physically strong. The series is great escapism (even if it does leave me a little hungry at times), and would be a great choice for those who enjoy urban fantasy and paranormal mystery.
First off I love the Sam Quinn series. And started to love this one a little bit more because it had all the things I love. She's a great artist, baked well and is very powerful. Her man is so sweet and strong. But when they brought the baby in I knew it was going to be downhill from there.
I love romance with a little magic. The adventures they go on and the dangers. And don't mind a baby at the e d of series. Because as soon as their with child evert step is about the baby. You can't do this because of the baby, be careful because of the baby. And when the baby is born everyone has plans for or to get the baby. Everyone is running around to protect the baby.
It started already in this book. The mc is now more careful and her man is all protective of them. The mc was a badass and ...look she was just better. She got hurt and got back up again for more. How are going to chase murders and use oil paint and stand up cooking long periods of time? You can not. Sometimes she'll be on a case for hours, how can you do that with a baby? But I know that from now on it will be about Quinn.
I may keep reading the series and hope it don't get babifid, we will see. Bit dang I was really loving this series.

Ugh. I really liked this series - and Sam Quinn's - before, but this one was kind of the pits.
First of all Arwyn since descending has become arrogant and smug about her power and her family. One scene in particular showed awful sides of her character where she tells Declan their child is only hers because she's the pregnant one and that her family name is the important one. When he protests mates usually make decision together and the child is both of theirs, she scoffs. She must have learned the selfish attitude from her mother who kept his child away from him
Second, the writing is mainly just back and forth repetitive talk. It's pretty boring. They talk about her eating habits, her protecting herself, reassuring Bracken how great he is, it has a false feeling to it with everyone becoming caricatures, even the detectives now.
And another thing - the mystery. The ending culprit was unrealistic and cheesy, and the showdown anticlimactic
While I love psychic vision stories, there is no point her continuing hers as Arwyn's have become annoying. She just falls, gets sick, gest wounds, and that is again repetitive. Hopefully the next book is better and this is just a one-off on awkwardness.

Heather's Notes I really like Arwyn and Declan. I enjoyed this story and them moving with their relationship. I actually ended up feeling sorry for Declan with Arwyn and her mood changes. I hope that is just because she is pregnant. I am kind of sad I am caught up with the series, now I have to wait with everyone else for the next book.
Arwyn & Declan are soonish to be parents, and whilst both are happy about it, there is some friction to be worked out.
Not all is well, as the Swan family were helping the Sorcerer, Calliopie but now she is dead they can't use her black magic, so they'll have to make their own. Apart from animals, they also kill people.
It doesn't help that Catherine Swan is on the Wicche Council, though Milo Swan is still locked up for the poisoning of food & tea at the Gallery, when it opened.
Small black magics are aimed at all the Coreys. None are successful because the Swans' are not as powerful as they've been telling themselves. But they don't believe that, they think Sybil, Arwyn's mum & Arwyn herself are weak.
Detectives Hernández and Osso have tripped over a serial killers dump site and ask for Arwyn's help. Of course both problems are happening at the same time as is usual for these stories.
Love these books, both the Sam Quinn ones & the Wicche ones, they are interconnected by both Sam & Arwyn being Corey cousins, and overlapping characters in each of the books.
This book was great! A one sitting read for me. Lots of excitement, lots of drama, lots of emotion, and a Sam and Dave cameo!
This book centers on family in several ways. Arwyn’s pregnancy, her adjusting to Declan’s protective nature, threats from a competing family, learning previously unknown history, more unity and pulling together from Arwyn’s family and the healing of some rifts. It’s a great read. There’s the danger and threats we are used to and the powerful displays of talent. But there’s also tenderness, the feelings of warmth in anticipation of a new life, the way Bracken gets included and fully welcomed, and Arwyn’s getting to know her father better. And then it ends with a scene that makes me agonized that the next book isn’t available right this minute!
How fabulous is Seana Kelly??!!! Just finished reading latest - Wicked Wicche - for the 2nd time since I got it on 31st March. I are it tge first read through so re-read it to make sure I hadn't missed anything! In preparation I had re-read the previous 3 books, so it has been joyous. The characters are wonderful and I love the central figure Arwyn. All are well written and you definitely develop opinions about them. The development from book 1 to book 4 is great, you fel like you are part of the family. Now I have to wait a year for the next one - boo! To console myself, I'll dive back into the Sam Quinn books. I cannot recommend Seana's work enough. I di not give 5 stars to many 😂 Enjoy
Things are heating up as the Coreys reform their Three after the tragic events of the last tale. Declan and Arwyn continue to work through their relationship while Arwyn struggles with her pregnancy and all the change in her world. The Swans are causing issues and there’s a newly-discovered killer on the loose. Another amazing installment in the Sea Wicche Chronicles by Seana Kelly.
Oh, boy! So much going on and to even mention anything about the book might let spoilers slip out. Instead, I will note the tension amps up, bad guys get it in the end (of course) and many challenges for Arwyn and Declan. Really enjoying this series and sorry we need to wait for another book in the series. I know it will be worth the wait.
I don’t know about the business side of managing a series, but Seana nailed it.
Wicked Wicche. Is such a feel good part of the series. Yes tension, but questions answered and generally supportive team and found family results. This book felt very loving.
Arwyn quickly finds herself dealing with a lot of emotions from her pregnancy, it doesn’t help that Declan is constantly in a state of protection mode trying to keep her safe. Between visions of murders and black magic happening she has her hands full.
I loved everything about this book. The character diversity, the intriguing story, and most of all the love sprinkled throughout this book and series. So well written, enjoyed this immensely.
I must admit that I like this spin of series even better than the Sam Quinn books, which are fantastic. Well written, good plots, not too gruesome, one of the better writers in this genre!
Kelly never disappoints! Loved the arch and growth of Arwyn. Such great characters. I would stick to reading g in sequence as the stories do build on each other.
Love, Humor, Mystery, and Magic - What more could you want?
Seana Kelly delivers with a kick ass heroine, a magical and kind family, hot alpha lover, and mysteries. She is one of my favorite authors and I love to live in her world.
Enjoyed it so much the first time I immediately reread the first three in the series and read this book again. I won’t write any spoilers and others will summarize, so I’ll just say this is a worthy addition to a series I love. Secrets uncovered lead to growth and evolving relationships.
The only thing troubling me is that I now have to wait a full year for the next book in the series. Keeping my fingers crossed hoping for a short story in this world to help tide me over until April 2027.
