Un/Bound by Varsha is not just a steamy interracial romance, it's also packed with emotions that pull you into the world of the charismatic playboy Theodore Warren III, known as Theo, and the beautiful, intelligent Fleur Mehta.
Theo and Fleur were high school nemeses, with clashing personalities that constantly challenged each other and brought out the best in one another. But then, Fleur suddenly vanished from Theo’s life.
Now, they meet again after twelve long years, and that’s when the real story begins. Both have changed completely. Fleur has suffered the devastating loss of someone very dear to her, leaving her emotionally shattered. The rebellious teenager she once was is gone, replaced by a woman who carries quiet strength beneath her vulnerability.
Theo, on the other hand, knows exactly how to handle her emotional fragility and anxiety. There is an intense connection and undeniable attraction between them. Fleur is still fighting her inner battles, but Theo surprisingly becomes her anchor, calming her anxiety and helping her believe in herself again, as if she’s a part of his soul.
This story is packed with deep, heartfelt emotion, and the chemistry between the characters is absolutely off the charts. From the very first page, it pulls you in and keeps you hooked until the end. Overall, it's a beautifully written and captivating read, one you'll likely devour in a single sitting.
For once, it was marketed as high spice with heartfelt emotions so I was really curious about what I could expect going in. The first half to the author's credit is amazing - the spice feels erotic and is well written. it will leave you wanting for more like Fleur. but after the half mark, eventually the scenes got boring for me ( there are only so many ways you can write two people fucking and at one point it got repetitive with the dialogues and smut).
Coming to the story, that was kind of the weak part for me because the pacing is too fast for the story outline outside of the smut, for the kind of heavy topics it includes. At least for Theo, I understand that he was in love with the idea of Fleur for years so his obsession made sense, Fleur's feelings - or well the timeline of it wasn't convincing enough for me. she meets Theo again, gets him to fuck her in different ways and then falls in love with him in a span of weeks, while also battling her anxiety, her need to know what happened with her sister and her writing. The whole book happens within a month of their meeting.
While there are monologues about how it's not sex and they have feelings for each other in the second half, a lot of it felt like we were being told something but shown something another. All of their conversations, confessions and just them thinking about each other in general always came back to their physical chemistry, so it was very difficult for me as a reader to feel connected to the intensity of love they seemed to say they had for each other.
another thing that kind of didn't work for me is the fast paced kind of healing Fleur seemed to have - her anxiety, her personality block, her fear and the way her parents were told be very over protective - she meets theo and 80 percent of the issues that were spanned over four years of her life get sorted out or begin to resolve within that month. that pacing didn't work for me.
overall I would say if you like high spice, insta lust(?) and pretty fast paced stories you might enjoy it more than I did.
The fact that I’ve finished reading this one within twenty four hours of beginning says a lot about me. It says a lot more about the book, its story, and its author. Granted, I went in knowing I will certainly enjoy the book; that’s just my bias. Little did I know, however, that I will love it soooo much! That’s just the magic of the author. Indeed a bias I will forever hold high.
This book has somehow managed to reinforce my belief that a good author or a good wordsmith, if I may say so, will always be able to add a bit of themselves into every story they weave. This one, despite its obvious steam and tension had so much more to it as well. The playful banter suddenly turning serious, the parallel thoughts in their POVs, the trust Theo and Fleur have in each other, recognising the safe space they find themselves in while together…every single aspect of this story was something that truly warmed my heart. I didn’t really expect it but then considering my biased self, it wasn’t completely unexpected either.
I think I already said I am willing to read your grocery lists once before and you’ve proven my willingness right, yet again. I will indeed read everything you choose to send out into the world. Thank you for not just the men you write about but more importantly, the women you write about; a strong inspiration is quite necessary in today’s world. Furthermore, nobody does discussions about risky topics better than you. And because you make it a point to have them in all your stories, I am forever glad that you are a voice that I can always count on.
P.S.: Not only the use of an oxymoron, but seeing schadenfreude used casually in narration also made me a happy nerd!!
Un/Bound is a childhood nemesis-to-lovers romance that blends emotional trauma, healing, and steamy chemistry into one compelling story.
One thing that immediately surprised me was the piercing scene, it was completely unexpected and somehow way hotter than I anticipated. The chemistry between Theo and Fleur is undeniable, and the spicy scenes definitely delivered although they become a little repetitive as the story progresses.
My biggest issue with the book was the pacing. The first half moves very quickly, with the main characters hooking up and opening up to each other almost immediately. I felt like the story building phase was missing. Theo’s feelings for Fleur were beautifully evident from the start, but Fleur’s journey of falling in love with him wasn’t explored with the same depth, making her emotional transition feel less convincing.
The writing style is simple and easy to read. I also personally wasn’t a fan of having a real person on the cover, but that’s purely a preference.
Another aspect that felt rushed was Fleur’s healing journey. Considering the depth of her trauma, anxiety, and fears, seeing them seemingly disappear within a month of reconnecting with Theo felt unrealistic and underdeveloped.
What truly made the book work for me was Theo. His patience, understanding, and ability to handle Fleur’s emotional fragility were some of the strongest parts of the story. Watching him become her safe place, her anchor, and the person she could lean on while confronting her fears was genuinely heartwarming and emotionally satisfying.
Overall, Un/Bound is an fast paced romance and steamy book
If you are a sucker for shared pasts, second chances, and a love story that effortlessly balances humor, heartache, and undeniable chemistry — this book is an absolute must-read. Following the story of Fleur Mehta and her high school nemesis Theo, this novel is a beautifully crafted blend of angst, banter, spice, and raw emotion that will keep you hooked from the very first page.
Theo is, without question, the kind of male lead that romance readers dream of. Behind his charming, playboy exterior lives a man who has been quietly devoted to one woman for over a decade. He is attentive, emotionally aware, and remarkably steadfast — a true green flag in every sense. What makes him truly compelling, however, is not just his love for Fleur, but the way he continuously encourages her to rediscover her passion, her writing, and ultimately, herself.
Fleur, on the other hand, is an exceptional female lead — sharp, resilient, and refreshingly real. Her sass and never-give-up attitude make her deeply endearing, while the book's sensitive exploration of her trauma and survivor's guilt adds a richness rarely seen in the genre. The way she, in turn, pushes Theo toward his own aspirations is a testament to how perfectly matched they are.
The writing strikes a wonderful balance between tender and thrilling. The spice is genuinely scorching, the emotional beats are earned, and the dynamic between the two protagonists is nothing short of swoon-worthy.
Did it have to end there? No, because I wasn't ready. I was not emotionally prepared, spiritually aligned, or even sitting upright. Thankfully, there’s an epilogue. but. even that felt like a soft slap to the soul because Theo & Fleur?? Haye *dramatic hand to the forehead*
Their relationship is just... so. cute. Like, weaponized adorableness. They’re soft. They’re steamy. They’re soulmates who speak fluent devotion and breathless affection. The way Theo pours his heart out and the way Fleur just radiates love?? It had me on the floor for sure.
Let’s talk panic attacks and emotional weight: the way they handle that? Absolutely breathtaking. It’s done with care, respect, and real emotional insight. Not once did it feel forced or sugarcoated. This wasn’t just a romance… it was healing in paperback form.
And the balance? Equal parts cuteness and steam. Which is so rare, by the way. And when I say the love was palpable, I mean you could taste it in their words, feel it dripping off the page like emotional honey, and hear your own heart breaking for them.
I cried. Multiple times. Possibly unattractively. And I have no regrets. Because they're. so. cute. 🫠🤌🏻💗
(╥﹏╥)(╥﹏╥)
If you’re looking for a love story that grabs your soul, punches your emotions, and then kisses your forehead after, this is it.

This book completely stole my heart. UN/BOUND is a beautiful mix of spice, emotion, and deep connection. Fleur and Theo, once high school rivals, cross paths again years later—and the spark between them? Electric & Unforgettable.
Fleur is smart, strong, and quietly powerful. Even in her toughest moments, she learns to trust, to love, and to heal. She lets Theo in slowly, but never loses herself. Her journey is raw, real and unforgettable.
Theo is everything. Charming, caring, and oh-so-swoonworthy. The way he sees Fleur, understands her silences, supports her without question, especially during her panic attacks—it melted my heart. He’s patient, protective, and always puts her comfort first, without making it about himself. He’s the kind of love that feels safe.
Theo and Fleur are the perfect mix of soft and intense. Their love is sweet, passionate, and full of quiet understanding. This story is a gentle reminder that what’s meant for you will always find its way back—no matter the time or distance.
If you’re looking for a love story with real depth, charm, and heart—this one’s made for you 🤌🏻❤️✨
This book had me fully obsessed from the beginning. The tension between Fleur and Theo was INSANE. You could literally feel all those years of unresolved feelings, rivalry, longing, and “I absolutely should not want you this much” energy in every interaction.
What I loved most was that this wasn’t just spice for the sake of spice. Yes, the chemistry was HOT hot, but underneath all of that, there was so much softness and emotional depth. Fleur is carrying so much anxiety and grief, and watching Theo understand her without trying to “fix” her honestly melted me. He just showed up for her in the gentlest way possible and it felt so real.
Also the banter??? Elite. They went from academic rivals to emotionally attached soulmates so naturally that I genuinely could not stop reading.
Theo is the definition of “looks dangerous but loves her carefully.” The man was DOWN BAD for Fleur and I ate up every second of it.
This book was emotional, steamy, comforting, and lowkey healing all at once. Definitely one of those romances that leaves your heart feeling full after you finish 🥹
Academic rivals that keep getting each other worked up turned lovers? Count me in! I read un/bound by varsha c and trust me, things are too hot to handle in there 🤭
Story follows our Theodore Warren and Fleur Mehta, Who used to be cut throat academic rivals in high school until Fleur moved away to London without any notice. That's when their worlds changed completely.
Fluer and Theo's chemistry was too damn hot, you know the kind where you don't know you'll handle it or not but can't help keep coming back. It's sensual, it's sexy and so damn addictive. I was a whole blushing mess throughout the book.
Theo is your perfect yearner/ hot fictional man who can be soft as well as sexy . I loved how he understood Fleur so well to push the right buttons to help her heal. The fact that he's so down bad for her but in the healthiest kind of way. Where there's banter, attraction but care in adequate amount. Fluer on the other hand, she's wild when she wants to and is not a shy woman when it comes to her needs. I think that's what makes her stood out. Though I felt her trauma needed to be more explored.
Another thing I appreciated was that there was no misunderstanding and drama, yes there was plenty plot revolving around ' what changed' and coming over trauma. And it's perfectly paced and executed I tell you, I loved how unconsciously they were each other's comfort and support system.
Ending is satisfactory and A HEA. Writing is crisp and very immersive. So in short I loved it. Enjoyed it. Lived it through my heart. Overall, a perfect steamy romance for when you are craving academic rivals to lovers, smart characters with explosive chemistry and very very hot spice. Go for it spicy romance lovers :)
This book omg kept me hooked till the end that I couldn't stop reading. The book is a mix of everything angst, spicy, romance and banter. The book is about Theo and Fleur. The high school nemesis and how they fell in love with each other.
Theo's Character omg this guy stole my heart. This guy literally made sure that his girl gets what she wants and he wanted her back the way she was in high school. I love how he cared for her and was always there for whenever she struggled. He made sure that she started loving her self back. I love this guy so much.
Fleur's character this woman the way she was full of sass I loved her character so much. Her attitude towards Theo, her never giving up personality was what I enjoyed reading about. The way she started her passion again, her writing, the way she loved Theo and always made him understand about the things 🤌🏻.
The book had so many scenes which were so good, the way she always resorted to cooking and he made her sure she is not stressed and in the right state. The spice in the book omg 🔥 was so good 🤌🏻.
Overall I enjoyed reading this book so freaking much.
Varsha didn't disappoint in this steamy, ex-nemesis to lovers romance!
I do love when the MCs share a past, whether they loved or hated each other because (and y'all can fight me on that but) it gives their chemistry that little added layer that you just can't replicate.
In Fleur and Theo's story, the ex-nemesis arc made so much sense because of their temperament. It was this dynamic that defined them during their high school's formative years and made them who they are today. It's also this love of confrontation between each other that made sparks fly every time they were together.
This book was definitely hot and spicy and I loved it! The banter and sexual tension between Fleur and Theo was top-tier and I gobbled it up.
As usual, Varsha shone by her beautiful writing and complex but mature characters. I'm a forever fan and would recommend this book to anyone who loves hot and possessive MMCs and confident though slightly bratty women.
UN/BOUND by Varsha C is not just a steamy interracial romance, its messy , magnetic and emotionally layered . The story follows Theodore And Fluer highschool nemesis until theo moved to London without notice and then their world changed completely.
Theo is not a playboy he is layered, grounded and he made sure that fleur get what she wants and he wants her back. He knows how to handle her anxiety. He made sure that she loved her back again . This guy stole my heart. On the other hand Fleur is a kind of heroine you will never forget . She is full of saass and her behaviour towards Theo, and her never giving up personality i loved her so much . I loved how she get her passion back .
Their chemistry? Off the charts . There is no misunderstanding and drama in the book but there is plot revolving around what happens and what happens after trauma . The writing style is impressive. There is a HEA. Overall i enjoyed reading this book and guess what i completed it in single sitting .
Looking forward to read more books of her in the future .
Previously I have read two books by this author and trust me guys she has become my one of favourites now!!!🤌🏻
Small backstory of how did I end up getting this book, I went to Author Varsha.c sighing event in Delhi a few weeks ago and bought this book completely out of the blue, when I saw this book , I instantly knew I would love it so much and glad I picked it because I loved it!!!❤️🔥
This book was a fast paced read that had so much chemistry between the characters with a lot of spice. I loved how it didn’t require me to think too much , but just go with the flow. I fell in love with Theo and Fleur instantly, and as we say opposites attract, this story felt perfect to me💓
The tension, the banter, the intense attraction characters had for each other made me feel so many emotions for them!!!🫶
Overall I loved this book and would recommend you to read it, if you want to read a fast paced story with a lot of spice and trust me it’s good!!👀❤️🔥
I may have refused to start and finish some very important chores because I wanted to continue reading this book. Fleur and Theo's story is such a wonderful book which reinstates my faith in the fact that what is meant to be, will come into your life and even distance and time will not prevent it from entering and staying in your life.
What started off as a healthy rivalry between two students who are incredibly intelligent turns to a deep, soulful, spicy HEA. Varsha's authentic writing brings out a gamut of intelligent emotions and feelings- her writing makes you ask deep questions to yourself, she brings out most human characteristics in her fictional creations.
The spice level is something else! please read this book if you are over 18 years of age- you will thoroughly enjoy it.
There’s something powerful about a story that blends chaos with comfort, and UN/BOUND does it so beautifully.
Fleur and Theo’s journey is about more than just romance it’s about healing, accepting your past, and finding the courage to be seen by someone who knows the darkest parts of you and still chooses to stay.
Their chemistry is intense from the start, but it’s the quiet, vulnerable moments that really hit hard. I adored the way Theo supported Fleur, respected her boundaries, and reminded her she didn’t have to carry everything alone.
The writing is bold and intimate. The pacing is perfect. And yes the spice? Definitely inhaled it🔥
If you're in the mood for a romance that goes deep but still makes you giggle, blush, and sigh? Pick this one up.
I really enjoyed this book! I loved how complex Theo and Fleur both were, each struggling with their own insecurities and anxieties, but finding a way to work through them individually and together. Their banter was so silly and funny to me, but they are just so cute my cheeks were hurting from smiling so much. The spice was definitely spicing 🙂↕️ but don’t be mislead, this book was not all about spice. There was emotional depth, delving into topics relating to anxiety and panic attacks, family dynamics, and losing a family member. I definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in reading queen Varsha’s writing and I can’t wait to get through more of her books soon! 🫶🏻
A dark mafia romance with interracial couple who used to be childhood nemesis. Fleur Mehta and Theo navigated through their own version of hell during their years apart. The next time these two meet, Fleur tries her best to hide her real identity, just wishing for a casual hookup with this tatooed version of Theo, whom she literally cannot recognize. But Theo literally played along with her game, getting wat he wanted, an in into Fleur's life. It was definitely a steamy romance, which literally got me hooked, and I loved seeing them walk back into each other, fiercer.
The banter, supporting each other, motivating each other & the spiciness is insane in this book. The way they feel attracted towards each other is beautiful 😍. I love their first meet in the club. OMG 😱 what happened made me smile especially at the end of the chapter was not just a shock but also the excitement of what was going to happen further.
I love the caring & protective side of Theo. The way he is thinking of every concern, every consequence that can take place in Fleur life. The way he doesn't want to take any rational step that can harm Fleur mentally & emotionally is so beautiful 😍.
I also love the way Fleur motivates him to pursue his dreams & have a conversation with his dad. Her belief in him makes me smile & I love the way Fleur confessed her love & him hearing it without even letting her know about it. Yes, I was kicking my legs in the air 😍🤭
If you love to read high level spicy chapters & fast paced romance books then this book is for you.
UN/BOUND is written by “new-to-me” author Varsha C. I went into this story fairly blind. I knew nothing more than what I saw on a graphic trope book cover on social media. I, 100%, was not disappointed! Varsha wrote a beautiful and steamy interracial romance with her characters, Fleur and Theo. They knew each other as schoolmates but one family’s tragedy created a long distance move. A lot can happen in 12 years of separation. I appreciated her characters and their flaws that defined who they became as adults. This book had the right amount of open door spice AND a great plot. It tackled a few deep topics but the way they were presented was so elegantly done. What happens when one person wants their freedom and the other wants to be bound? UN/BOUND is a must-read 5⭐️ story!
