Alysia D Evans brings us a terrifying but not inconceivable future world that we could easily see ourselves heading towards. It shows how small things can affect big changes while also asserting that love can always win through. We follow Nicky's journey both mentally and physically through this book as she strives to be reunited with her girlfriend, Megan. It has been well thought through, is fast paced and has Nicky having to make many quick on the spot life changing decisions. I really enjoy the authors descriptions that have you truly seeing the environment and settings which keep you focused on Nicky's plight.

Chilling

“Perfecting the Future” is chilling, yet tenuously hopeful. Her courage, aided by a determined circle of friends and family are what saves Nicky from a fate worse than death - conversion “therapy” followed by forced procreation. When her girlfriend, Megan, is deported to Scotland, Nicky is beside herself with grief and fear. The new Government Regime is quickly arresting lesbians and converting them into baby-making slaves. Only her ingenuity and luck get her out of the detention camp - but how will she get to safety, freedom, and Megan? Heart pounding pages and chapters take Nicky … where? “Perfecting the Future” is forebodingly realistic.

4 stars. This was stressful as fuck. Felt way too real for my liking but that’s kudos to the author for going there. Intense, well written and paced and some hard hitting shit going on for the main character and it was addictive as hell though it was terrifying. I definitely want to check out more by this author.

It took a little while for me to click to the setting but then I was completely captured. This is a fast paced slightly futuristic love story coping with the rules of a new government. Great writing and eye catching cover
