Never After #1-6

by Emily McIntire

The Never After series (set of 6 books) takes readers on a captivating journey through reimagined fairy tales filled with magic, intrigue, and dark romance. Each book in the series brings a unique twist to beloved fairy tale characters, plunging them into complex, morally gray worlds where survival and redemption hang in the balance. 1. Hooked The first book introduces readers to a twisted version of Peter Pan. In this story, Captain Hook isn't just a villain—he's a broken man with a dark past, and the line between hero and villain becomes blurred. 2. Scarred In Scarred, the story of the Beast and Beauty is turned on its head. A dark and dangerous romance emerges between two characters who are both hiding scars, both physical and emotional. 3. Wretched This book takes on the tale of the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz. Set in a land of dark magic, Wretched is a deep dive into the Witch’s origin and her desperate quest for power, with a mix of suspense, betrayal, and a desperate need for control. 4. Twisted Twisted reimagines the classic story of Cinderella, but with a dark twist. The protagonist is no longer a helpless girl waiting for rescue, but a fierce and ambitious woman struggling against her destiny. 5. Crossed A reworking of Little Red Riding Hood, Crossed takes the familiar tale and thrusts it into a world filled with forbidden love, secrets, and a web of deceit. 6. Hexed The final book of the series brings together all the themes and characters from the previous novels, building to an explosive conclusion. In Hexed, ancient magic and a fierce battle for the future culminate in a thrilling finale, where every character must confront their past, their fears, and their choices.

Reviews

I loved all these books. Each one had just the right amount of character annoyance, character building, spicy time, and endings. I knew the endings about halfway through but not so much that it ruined the storyline. I really hope Emily writes more like these!

This book was a conflict for me. I don't like the heroin being a killer. It was nice but not my taste

Recommended by two girlfriends, i started to read this series of dark romance books. In the beginning i was a little sceptic but i just love the books and the Whole dark romance genre.

the whole series lacked any real plot, and got worse the more I read.
