As someone who is not naturally emotionally intelligent and often struggles with communication, this book felt like a guidebook for me ✨
It shows how we can handle difficult situations in daily life. Especially at work,by communicating with clarity and avoiding unnecessary emotional drama. In short, it teaches us how to stay calm and composed in edgy situations.
The most important thing I learned is that in our lives we always have a choice, how to react in a situation and what feelings we want to accommodate in our lives: fear, anger, equanimity, or joy. It’s on us which feelings we should let go of and which feelings we should add. If we practice this, even if we just 'fake it till we make it', it will grow into a whole new good attitude, and eventually, it will become us, our new version 🌷
We can get angry in an edgy situation, or we can let go of the anger and take it in our stride. That’s the last sentence of this book, which I like the most, and it reflects many of the other lessons in this book about emotional intelligence.
After all, life is too short to spread hate or stay tangled in self-pity. Instead, we should spread kindness, keep learning, and work toward a self-sufficient, fulfilled life, because we all deserve that. And the best part? It’s always our choice ✨
