Work hard, play hard. That’s Izzy’s motto, and that is exactly what she intends to do on her Norwegian holiday with the girls. But recently the fun and games with beautiful himbos haven’t been hitting the spot as the pressures of work build, and she realises there might be more to life than giving in to men who don’t appreciate her, just so she can get some sleep. Especially when her flavour of the month ditches her to be kidnapped by a hideous troll in the middle of an avalanche! Torak cannot believe his eyes, or his ears, when the beautiful, bossy woman he just rescued insists on going back for the scum who left her to die. In an attempt to shut her up, he agrees to her crazy mission, not prepared for the sizzling chemistry between them. But he cannot understand why this firecracker of a female throws herself away on fools when she should be worshipped like a queen. As tension builds and the unlikely pair can barely keep their hands off one another, their mission ends with a mistake that not only tears them apart but may also expose Heimli to the danger of humankind. Will Torak ever forgive Izzy for her betrayal? Will Izzy do what she always does and settle for less than she knows she is worth? Only time and temptation will tell.
A schmexy and fun troll romance that takes you on a free trip to Norway that you don't want to return from! It was enjoyable to watch the MCs argue and hurl insults at each other, pretending they don't actually have the hots for one another xD Their fiery tempers made their journey to love so fun. Their intimate scenes were explosive, and the build-up to them was delicious! I liked how in this book, we got to learn more about the Hidden Folk and visit different places in their kingdom. My favorite book in the series!
Thank you to the author for the free e-ARC! This is my honest review!
Every Hidden Folk story just gets better and better! I have loved seeing the events happen throughout each human's perspective and the beautiful love that blooms in each story! Torak and Izzy had the BEST banter! I loved how they were always at each other's throats and how stubborn they were. Their pull was so strong for one another and I loved following along their journey!
I'm very excited to see where the story goes from here and what's to come! We've met some remarkable characters so I can't wait to see more adventures!
These books keep getting better and better, each entry is a step above from the previous one!
This book expands quite a lot on the lore and adds some very interesting surprises! If you’ve read the first 3 books, this book spans further than the first three and the choice to expand upon with this story makes so much sense! It creates a lot of curiosity about where we would go next and I want to read the next book now!
Both Izzy and Torak have strong and distinct characters with some of the best series moments yet! While I do still think Fritha is my favourite hidden folk! Izzy and Torak may have my favourite moments together! Their banter is some of the best I’ve ever read!!
This enemies to lovers definitely delivers! There’s hate, there’s name calling, there’s secretly caring and everything you’d expect and some unexpected turns, that I didn’t see coming.. a perfect entry to the series!
What an incredibly fun and delightful escape to the mountains! This story delivers in a big way on snark, banter, relationship drama, and personalities. And there is some yummy spice.
Izzy is a human lawyer who is on vacation in Norway with her friends.
Torak is a troll who lives with the other Hidden Folk in the mountains of Norway.
They meet because he & his team rescue her & her friends from an avalanche. It is not cute and the dislike is strong with these two. So is the romantic tension. It is so good!
Izzy is so great. She is bold, loud, smart, and confident. But she isn't immune to burnout or less than ideal coping mechanisms. Still, girl is doing her best and when she makes a mistake, she tries her hardest to make it right or at least prevent further fallout. Torak is a protective, grumpy male who sees Izzy's worth but also gets annoyed by her. Love it! Theirs is not an easy journey and they both have to face some tough truths and do some growing. Much to the delight of the reader.
I love Ella's writing. This series is so enjoyable and the characters are so fun. My brain loves the way the stories are crafted and how everything flows and the world sounds like somewhere you want to go.
I received this as an ARC and I am so grateful. Please rest assured my review was not influenced by this and is based only on my thoughts and feelings of the story.
"There is no one else. There is just me and him. Together again."
Follows the before and after journey of our last four, Izzy and how she dealt with what's happening throughout the story. Shares the same timeline as the previous 3 books.
We finally have Izzy's story, and it felt so surreal that it's finally come to an end to our four girls.
I love Izzy right from the start, she's such a spitfire, knows what she wants and do everything and anything to get it. She's a go-getter and I love that for her. We also saw how she perceived what's happening during the avalanche and as to why she insisted on rescuing their guide. She got a big heart that cares too much.
Torak was entertaining and just knows what buttons to push to a annoy and melt Izzy.
I had a hard time connecting with how Torak dealt with the issue, I get that he's also protective of his people but I really think he overreacted but it made sense in the book as to why he made that decision.
I love their dynamic, it was explosive, abrupt and just so them that I looked forward to them being together in the future.
So so excited with the way the world opened up in this book. There's a lot more to Hidden Folk than the usual trolls and I am looking forward to reading more.
I thought I was an Urug (book 2) fan through and through, but then Fritha (book 3) showed up, and now there’s Torak… honestly, they’re all amazing. I genuinely love all the characters, I don’t think I can pick just one favorite. But Torak and Izzy probably top the list for their banter and that delicious enemies-to-lovers (grumpy+grumpy) tension. You can feel the pull between them, and when they finally give in… whew! Sparks everywhere. It gets HOT. One of my favorite steamy Torak and Izzy moments is the hot library scene, I’ll be thinking about for a long time. This series has a bit of everything: steamy, swoony, cozy vibes, plus some tension and a few edge-of-your-seat moments. Each book tells the same story but from a different POV, and the world just keeps getting bigger and more interesting. This time, there were new characters that aren’t Trolls or Hundra, and I was like, “Wait, how many hidden monsters are out there?!” It makes the Hidden Folk world feel so alive and full of surprises. I can’t wait to see where the next story goes. I’m ready to jump into the next book!
Thank you so much, Ella Larson, for the ARC. all opinions are my own
Another one for the Hidden Folks! I loved finally getting to learn about Izzy's story, and what happened with the ski host. We see from previous books how dedicated she was to her holiday fling, but we discover the truth in this story. Izzy wears her bossy behavior like an armor, for the carefully guarded feelings that she keeps inside. I was so glad to see her learn from her mistakes, and the character growth that happened once she realized the error of her ways.
Torak was was as stubborn as a bull, and took some time to see just how right Izzy was for him, even if they both had a rocky start. I loved the growth between the two of them, and how they came closer together in the end. You also get a glimpse into other Hidden Folk in their area, adding another layer of wonderful world building that makes Ella's books truly special.
When Izzy gets rescued from the avalanche by Torak, the first thing he gets is an earful. Because when she realises that the trolls before her aren't a figment of her imagination, she's determined to show him who's boss. But Torak can see through her prickly exterior and glimpse the woman, who've been hurt but has a big, caring heart underneath all her bravado. Will they be able to make it work?
Oh boy!! I've been waiting for Izzy's story and it's FANTASTIC!! She's just as amazing and fun as I thought it would be and grumpy Torak might be my favourite (could be the beard though 😉)
I love the Hidden Folk so much and I'm very excited for more stories from Heimli and their amazing people!!
I was really looking forward to the fourth installment of the Falling for the Hidden Folk series, and Ella Larson didn’t disappoint. This series is steamy, heartwarming, and has a good dose of character growth.
This was especially true in this book, where Izzy’s character learns from some real humbling mistakes. Her bossiness can be overwhelming at times, making her growth as a character particularly satisfying. As for our leading Troll, Torak, he, too, learns from his mistakes.
Their romance has a feel of Shakespeare’s Beatrice and Benedick's sharp repartee and steam.
I’m also loving that we have now been introduced to other mythic characters, giving the Hidden Folk world more depth and possibilities. I’m looking forward to what Ella Larson will bring in the following books!
