Book Review: Hunting Sommer – A Nora Sommer Caribbean Mystery Thriller by Nicholas Harvey
Nicholas Harvey’s Hunting Sommer, the ninth installment in the Nora Sommer series, is another gripping Caribbean thriller set in the Cayman Islands, that continues to build on the dynamic and compelling character of Nora Sommer.
In this installment, Nora Sommer is a newly established detective for the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) and continues her responsibilities as a foster parent to a Caymanian teenager. As a new detective, Nora continues to work and be mentored by the head of the RCIPS detective unit, Detective Whittaker. Of course Nora uses her wit, experience, and tenacity to solve a the latest crime on the island.

As always a hit
This was another thrilling book right up to the end. I loves Nick's book because he brings me THERE, I'm in vehicles, walking around the warehouse, sensing how Mrs Talbot felt. I was went into the ocean with Nora and Archie, I took the shot with the sniper, and when I saw the bonus photos they were pretty much in my head already fron Nick's pointed descriptions, I've done some work on construction sites and I'm sorry to see those high rises being allowed to go up.. Exactly how Las Vegas has been ruined.. Tons of new high rise and casinos all practically on top of each other, ugh.

ANother five star thriller with new Detective Nora Sommers. After following her story after eight previous boooks and her introduction in a related series, this book is incredibly satisfying. One definitely becomes attached to a character so well dawn as this, so kudos to Nicholas Harvey. This is a first rate thriller, set as usual, on Grand Cayman. I think this may be the best yet, although i say that each time. I believe the next book coming out in May is the last in the series. I will be sad about that as i really enjoyed this heroine. From a teenage victim of the sex trade in the Caribbean to a detective on the police force, what a ride this has been. Heartily recommend.

Nora at her best! Such a great read.
The storyline was brilliant with plenty of twists and turns, and the reader knowing something that the detectives don’t until later adding to the suspense.
But more than being excellent detective stories, it is the clever characterisation that sets these books apart; Nicholas Harvey has created such a dynamic, likeable and quirky person in Nora that we are all rooting for her.
When I read a book that not only has me guessing but also laughing out loud I know it’s a winner!

A very twisted and convoluted storyline. The sniper was really something else in so many ways!! Great storytelling. And I loved hearing from Archie again. Some people you just click with. Really good backstory and side stories; MI5, the code for the number of stories built on the island. This author always pays attention to details and this book is no exception. When you read, you see it in your head, and you're living it with him. I love that!!

Hunting Sommer moves rapidly, with well-placed twists and old characters popping in for some diversion. Nora is starting to grow and evolve as she takes on a new partner in Detective Whittaker. Harvey keeps the reader off balance: clues mislead, bad actors hide in plain sight, secrets emerge gradually. The Sub-plots, in typical Harvey style, are left unresolved and leave you hoping the next book comes out sooner than later!

Killer View
Money drives most everyone and when the thought of it coming to a halt as income it can motivate people to do things they never thought of doing before. Nora has to work hard to find who is killing people on her island and who is behind calling the shots. Harvey is a master storyteller and keeps you on the edge to the end. Thanks for entertaining me with another great book.

Suspenseful read
This Nora Sommer book was a fast moving suspense with added information regarding Nora's personal life. It was an excellent read on an early Fall weekend. You knew the guilty party from the beginning, but it was the "getting" to him that was so well done. Highly enjoyable.

Hunting Sommer
I could not put the book down! I so enjoy seeing all the layers being pulled away with each story about Nora.She is,a remarkable young woman and each story makes me want her to gain some peace and happiness. The relationship with her boss and mentor is so pure. Now I can't wait for more!

Detective Sommer!
About time too. Another awesome installment in Nora’s journey, she has to be one of my favorite literary characters. This would make a great video series if you could a Norwegian actress that could pull this off. Love the characters and love the stories. Thank you Mr Harvey!

excellent
What a story! Whittaker and Sommer investigate a murder by sniper but before they can find a suspect another murder is committed. This is a complex murder mystery, very enjoyable read. I love the character of Nora Sommer, and her surrounding team and friends!

I read it in one sitting
I was waiting a few months for this book to come out. I really enjoy this series. I kind of wished I saved a bit so I could enjoy it longer…

great series
I'm amazed that this author can write so many fantastic novels, I hope that he never stops writing. His books are some of the best Entertainment I have read and worth the time to read them. Thank you for a very fun entertaining read.

Another great Nora book!
Hunting Sommer is another exciting Nora Sommer story. Nick does a better job each time. He provides lots of action and provides lots of Nora comments to lighten the mood at key times. A great read.

One of the best ever
This was the authors best ever in this series and ill not forget this book so much with all the old characters coming home to visit brings a tear to my eyes just a fabulous read and I hope to be alive for the next one Bobbie and George ciao

Another great story with Nora. Nora has a lot of quirks you can really understand. The twists and turns in the story intermixed with Nora's humor makes the read even better. I always look forward to the next adventure.

This series keep getting better. Nora is now a Detective, and when 2 people are shot from long range and there are no clues, it is up to the Caymanian police to track down the killer.
