Xavier, having been unexpectedly thrust forward in the Tower of Champions, is not about to squander his time on the hundredth floor.
There are still threats for him to face, still powerful enemies to defeat, and before he leaves, he will wring every ounce of power he can from this opportunity.
When he does return to Earth, he’s a force to be reckoned with, and is now one of the most powerful Denizens in the entire Silver River sector.
But will that be enough to face the threats that await him?
Don't miss book 5 of the action-packed LitRPG Apocalypse Series by Todd Herzman, with levels, a detailed System, classes, skills, towers, loot, & everything you love about progression fantasy. It's perfect for fans of Defiance of the Fall, System Universe, and He Who Fights With Monsters!
Wow! Soooooooo friggintastic! And I can't wait to see what happens in the next book on Thazamar the first of The Three Hell Moons of Demonica! This is all about Xavier and his climb through the Tower of Champions as the system itself is pushing him to new heights, new feats! And where Xavier ends up on the 100th floor, and under powered for this floor and sure enough he rises to the challenge, even surpassing it, but there's 2 monsters that he needs to beat before he leaves this floor... one of them for vengeance, and the other for friendship! You'll only be able to find out what happens if you read the book! Plus Xavier manages to get back to earth catch up with Colville and tie up some loose ends. Making some allies along the way, and saving a necromancer trapped in a dungeon. Ohhhh yeah there's plenty of pop-cultural references to please your heart ❤! And a big nod to Shirtaloon too!
Here's a couple of quotes for ya:
"The tone had a humorous nature to it that Xavier was drawn to. He flipped the book over and read the title. He Who Fights with Beasts, by Pantaloon." “Pantaloon,” Xavier muttered. “Why does that sound familiar?”
"Cute! I am not cute! I will rip your hand from your arm and crunch the bones before I swallow it whole!"... ...Famarial chuckled. “Adorable.”
If you like the previous books in this series, you'll enjoyed this one decent character growth and lots of fights. Some decent callbacks. Good use of powers. The main character doesn't make any crazy stupid mistakes that are easily preventable and anyone with the brain in their head could foresee which is nice for once. If you're looking for romance though, this isn't the book for you, there isn't any. The main character is super focused on its own progression which in the situation he's in he should be and I hope this review has some help to you or I apologize for any spelling errors I'm writing this review with voice to text
Apparently I didn't read the previous book!! Gasp!! Luckily the author writes in such a way that I was able to comprehend the current setting of the character fairly quick.
An interesting twist to learn that he no longer has his party members and that the system is deliberately pushing his progress forward.
A big sad face to how the fight with the elemental dragon ended. Such a weird way to end that.
Yeh.... In this book Xavier grapples with having a target on his back. He also realizes he must grow faster than the tower is facilitating... So what's a bit gotta do to get stronger? This was more of the same as the other books, with just the right amount of twists and turns to make it fun along the way. I'm looking forward to the next book!
Another great book in the series ! Love the reference to other books and authors too as ever: Great development of characters and new storylines . Just wish they were longer as I can’t wait for the next book!
I want to give this 5 stars because it’s written well but…
I loved it, except that I skipped a lot. Too much internal dialogue and not enough actual action. I see this a lot once writers get further into a series… please make it fun again:) looking forward to the next one.
The series has been a good one. IN book 5 the author is starting to lose the thread that made it readable. Now it’s just outlandish things that do not mesh will with the story line. Good for 5 thats an accomplishment. First 4 a good this one below average
