Unique: A New Breed is amazing book to read. The storyline is very original, and the characters were very likable. It's full of action, romance, humor,...
I loved basically everything about it! The main character ( the heroine) is a strong, no nonsense, kick a$$ heroine, named Unique.
And the hero, Niten,... I don't think could be any hotter !!! Alpha male, strong, protective, sexy,... you get the picture???
I definitely would recommend that you read this book if you like werewolves, vampires, paranormals, supernatural, hot, sexy , great story. Oh, you know what,...just read it. You'll not regret it.
I read only this one book by this author but, definitely, it wouldn't be my last.
Can't wait for the book 2 to come out!

I will only say this, I LOVE UNIQUE!! If you like quirky, sarcastic humor, this book is for you. While I read it, I imagined it as a movie in my head. It also touched on some sensitive issues about how women feel about their bodies and overcoming prejudices, even though Unique was justified in her hatred. Good read!

well I paid £20 for this book and it was worth every penny I LOVE IT. Reyna is one of my favourite authors and she always leaves me wanting more I can't wait to hear more of Jessica's story I advise anyone that loves a brilliant read to read this you will not be disappointed.

Let me start by saying I loved this book! It has me twisted up with so many emotions its not even funny! From beginning to end I was sucked right in, and I had no otherchoice but to hold on tight and enjoy this wild ride.
Unique has had a really rough life. Seperated from her parents and younger sister at a young age she is all alone. She was kidnapped and tortured by the very creatures who only exsist in nightmares. But as Uni has seen they are very much real. After 5 years in captivity she escapes and is "saved". Little does she know that that which saved her is the very thing she hates the most. Forced to drink blood inorder to heal her wounds, Uni gains special abilities that help her hunt Vampires. After years on her own without her family and living the life of a hunter Uni gets the chance to exact revenge on the monster that stole her life. However, in order to kill him once and for all she must learn not to fear that which she hunts. What better way then to have a vampire train her for battle? At first she is sceptic, but Niten is an excellent teacher and starts to grow on her.
Niten is a 300 year old vampire who kills his own kind. Those who live less then honorable lives fear even his name. The moment he meets Uni he knows she is special, and feels a burning heat evrytime she is near. He can't control the bloodlust he feels around her as well. His honor calls that he must help this "Unique" woman face her fears and get her long overdue payback. No matter how much he believes that it is a bad idea he decides to take a chance and help her.
Uni and Niten begin realize that the man they are after is worse then they ever imagined. What they thought would be a difficult mission has become impossible. With the help of Alix , Uni's best friend and werewolf, the 3 must work togther to understand this world of monsters. For everytime they turn around there is new obstacles to overcome.
Reyna Pryde is on my authors to watch list. She writes an amazing and compelling story. The characters are so likeable and relatable! Uni is a powerful role model for women everywhere and I can not wait to see what happens next! Bring on book 2!!!! ~5 Stars~

When Jessica “Unique” was young she was kidnapped, held hostage and was fed from for five years by a band of evil vampires. A mysterious stranger helped her escaped and disappeared before she could see who her rescuer was. Since then she’s grown up making her own weapons and swords and killing vampires with them. She won’t be completely satisfied until she gets the leader of the group that held her, Meiji, and kills him.
Niten is a vampire assassin and messenger who works for the Queen of Vampires, Lilith. He is also an excellent sword master. His new assignment is to talk to Jessica and try to get her to her work with Lilith because she is more than just a simple human. But Jessica doesn’t want anything to do with a vampire besides kill it. Niten knows that Jessica has had a tough life and isn’t exactly sure what Lilith wants with her but he has a job to do and he always completes them.
The story is told through both of their point of views. After being rescued Jessica goes by “Unique” now and starts a brand new life. The vampires left her horribly scarred so she doesn’t want to get close to anyone and have them see her and think of her a freak. Niten has kept to himself and before he was a vampire he also had a skin irritation which left him scarred so he knows what Unique is going through. Unique is sassy, sarcastic, and a very strong woman. Niten has been a vampire for hundreds of years and has learned to control his thirst and violent tendencies but something about Unique calls on him stronger than anything ever has before and he’s not sure if he is strong enough to not give in.
Overall it was a very good story. I love the supernatural and this had witches, werewolves, and vampires so I instantly fell in love with it.

I was given a copy of this in exchange for an honest review and wow am I glad I've taken the time to read it. It was such a truly unique story, not just a love story but a mix of love, paranormal, magic, vengeance and love. The story reads from a diary like perspective from the characters point of view, making you instantly envision the events in front of your eyes and making it so easy to see and read, it flowed so well so fluidly that sometimes I forgot I was reading a book and not just watching a movie. I love how it gradually built the characters from two dimensional characters into three dimensional characters who felt, who lived, who breathed, the author made you feel you were the character growing and finding more of yourself and I have to say when you find a book like that don't let go because it's so breath taking.
The characters well I can't really say much more than I already have, I love the way the author built them gradually making them more relatable more human it made you feel more empathy and compassion for them throughout troublesome times within the story. The main characters Unique and Niten have such a strong spark When they first met which showed a lot of irritation and anger between them and you felt this equally from them both as they gradually got to know one another the confusion and irritation changed and drew you in further. I loved that Alex was also included in this the jealousy element really did make for some good laugh out loud moments especially when him and Unique talk or should I say banter between themselves like true brothers and sisters would.
I seriously hope the author is intending to make this as a series and not leave it as a standalone because this can get so much better and well I have to admit it I hate the cliffhangers lol I want to find out what happens now that such a big change has happened and where will the author take it next.

I've written this review twice already and when I've tried to post it, GR takes me back to the homepage. This is take 3.
Starting with what I liked about the book, I really enjoyed the story itself and how the idea behind it all is different to anything I've read. A vampire hunter hell bent on revenge is not something I've really read before and it was different enough to make me want to review this book. It was a light easy read and I enjoyed it, despite expecting something darker.
Unfortunately the writing didn't live up to my expectations and let the story down. I don't want to say it was like reading YA because I read a lot of very well written YA books but I did find the writing in this book very juvenile sounding. The characters actions and dialogue come across as if they were teenagers, or rather how an adult thinks a teenager may behave. As all main characters were supposed to be well into adulthood this confused me. Lilith in particular was a disappointment, she was supposed to be this all powerful witch and in the end, she was rather pathetic and way too nice.
None of the characters seemed to have a particularly distinctive voice. There were all rather wishy washy and the fact that they sounded like kids was rather cringe worthy. I'm afraid I lost interest in the end and skim read the last 15% or so. By then I'd given up caring about the character. It's a shame since the idea behind the story was great but I just couldn't connect with the characters enough to care about them.
I think those who enjoy lighthearted, easy to read fantasy may like this but unfortunately it just wasn't for me.

Vampires, werewolves and witches, oh my! Reyna Pryde did it again! Unique: A New Breed is so good. I love how the world she has created fells like ours, but yet doesn’t. She adds that special something in that makes it all so much more intriguing. The characters are so relatable that I felt like I could feel along with them. I was so into this story it had me crying and laughing out loud. So emotional.
There are some great twist to the story that I didn’t see until right before they happen and a couple I didn’t see coming at all. I love how Reyna keeps me guessing. Of course in the end I was left with my mouth hanging open and thinking, What?!?! I can’t wait till the next book to see how this plays out.
Two hunters forced together to achieve the same goal. Unique is a vampire hating hunter with trust issues and a bad attitude. Niten is a vampire who hunts and disposes of the evil vampires for his queen and is feared by all. Her wounds are deep, but Unique must overcome her fears to be able to rid the world of the vampire who tortured her for years. On her quest she has to deal with many dangers including the ones she causes herself. She finds allies and foes, but which is which? Will Unique learn to trust the one person who can help her the most? Will she get her vengeance?

Well the title definitely suits the story. I loved the character's Reyna created in this one. Unique is strong, and funny but also has a side to her that is scared of becoming the one thing she fears and hunts.. A Vampire. She had been held captive for five years and is very close to death when she is finally rescued from an unknown protector. Seeking vengeance on those that held her prisoner and fed on her daily she becomes a force to be reckoned with. After being taken yet again by a sexy beast of a vampire by the name Niten, to Queen Lillith's Castle, she is thrust into having to become allies with the monsters she hates most. Can she control herself in order to become strong against her worst nightmare? Can Niten make it through training without eating her? The bickering between these two cracked me up. It was a hate-hate relationship from the start. Oh did I mention Unique's best friend is a werewolf? There are some twists that keep you guessing.. and the end left me hanging and wanting answers to questions left unanswered. I definitely hope there is more to come, I SOOO want to know what happens next!

I really enjoyed this book! If you like paranormal books with an interesting twist, this book is definitely for you! It had my attention from the very beginning and I found it very hard to put it down once I started reading it. I love stories that have strong, sarcastic heroines and this one definitely met that criteria. Unique is as special as her name implies. Her strength, bravery and determination drew me to her and I really wanted to see her succeed. Having an awesome hero in the story never hurts either and Niten definitely proved to be that! It was amazing to watch them come into their own and grow throughout the course of the book.
The only criticism that I had was that there were several grammatical/wording errors throughout the book. They weren’t so bad that I couldn’t figure out what the author meant to say, but they were there.
I really can’t wait to see how this story continues so I will be anxiously awaiting the next book!

*spoiler alert* I received this book in exchange for an honest review from Lovers of Paranormal. Unique: A New Breed is a different kind of vampire huntress story. The main character goes through a traumatic event which colors her reality. Her character evolves throughout the book. The story is different and engaging. The book seemed somewhat stilted initially because of the limited amount of dialogue in the first few chapters, but it seems to even itself out. I also liked the integration of cultural elements which were unfamiliar. The relationship between Unique and Niten seemed somewhat forced at first, but again, it seemed to even out later in the book. The story did end somewhat abruptly, but I care enough about the characters that I want to know what happens to them. This is a different kind of vampire novel and I look forward to reading the next installment.

Now while I didn't like this one quite as much as I loved Bound by Sacrifice, it definitely had it's moments of greatness. I really love the getting to know Unique and Niten and some more of this great world that Pryde has created. I like getting more back stories, finding out how certain characters came to be, and seeing how the books cross over. I was definitely surprised at times but there were also lulls in the story for me. Unique was a great character with such strength but also weakness. Her and Niten go great together. In the end, I like this book and really like the the world and characters. 3.5 stars.

Omg I love this book. At first I thought I wouldn't but by the 2nd chapter I was hooked. I love the way the author made her own little twist about Lilith making all the creatures and not god himself. Also you got to love Unique and Niten hate and then love story.
This book made me cry hearing all about Unique and her horrible past. And the way she fought her way out of everything bad and still become a brave warrior. Also when Niten always saves her even if he thinks he always failing.
I love this book and if you like warewolf ,vampire and just supernatural period , then this is for you. It's has everything.... Can't wait to read book 2 !!!!

I was given this book to write an honest review via the group shut up and read.
I really enjoyed this book and found it refreshingly different.
The author did a great job with the characters. Jess/unique was great, I loved her story, so sad but there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Her characteristics were brilliant she was so fiesty it was great.
Niten oh what a cutie, the strong broody type, I loved him and his devotion!
The other characters played their part well and were likeable.
I thought the plot was original and the twists and turns were fab. It was unpredictable and gripping throughout.
If you a vampire fan this book is certainly for you and its not one you should look over, you have to read it!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review form LOP (Lovers of paranormal)
This book was odd. But not in a bad way. It was a very quick read and a very well thought out read. The only issue I have with this book is that it was too fast paced. I wish the characters were more developed, so that we could watch and see them grow into their own. There is (from what I can tell) going to be a book 2, which I will also read because I want to see where this story plays out. I just wish the book itself while very thought out, was more developed.
This book was odd. But not in a bad way. It was a very quick read and a very well thought out read. The only issue I have with this book is that it was too fast paced. I wish the characters were more developed, so that we could watch and see them grow into their own. There is (from what I can tell) going to be a book 2, which I will also read because I want to see where this story plays out. I just wish the book itself while very thought out, was more developed.

I was given a copy of this book by the author and the goodreads Lop group in exchange for an honest review.Wow this is a great read full of paranormals .An emotionally charged and action packed story that grabs you from the beginning .I was immediately drawn to Unique her strength and bravery were amazing .Her road is not an easy one and once she meets Niten she faces even more changes and challenges both mental and physical.I enjoyed every moment of this story and look forward to reading more .The author created a well written story with characters I cant wait to see more of.

This book wad messed up and had a few too many plot tests but i am sure there is a reason why. despite all the craziness it was enjoyable. i enjoyed the idea that a vampire hunter could be confronted with soo many difficulties in her life that made her stronger and a unique individual. I was a little unhappy with the ending. It was not at all what I expected. I would however be very interested to see what the rest of the series is like. I would recomend this book.

This book is AMAZING! It's unlike any book I've read before and at the end it just leaves you DYING for more! Unbeknownst to this author, she is one of my faves! Every story I read of hers takes me into a world that I've not yet come to read about. She keeps things interesting and exciting and her heroines are kick ass! This book is an ABSOLUTE MUST READ! <3 <3 <3!!!

This book had an amazing twist at the end that I did not see coming at all. There were times when I was completely surprised and times when it made me laugh. I just love the change that the main character made in regards to her personality and I am really excited to see what happens to the characters in the next book. :)

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Blood. Gore. Werewolf cuteness. For once a romantic style novel didn't leave me in a place where I yearned to be part of that world. Instead I'd like to be a Mother Wolf nao.

An Excellent first book. Characters are very good, would building is good but not overwhelming, A little angst but only when you would normally find it and it's short. Defiantly reading book 2

The hybrid that is as the title says unique. I appreciate the vampire werewolf hybrid angle, it was refreshing to read something with a new twist. However, for me I just never really connected to the characters and didn't fall in love with this book. It is a good read and I definitely would recommend that you read this book and hopefully you find the connections didn't.

March 29, 2015I absolutely LOVED writing this book! Unique has this spunky spirit I relate to and she reminds me of all the silly, wonderful people in my life. If you enjoy a bit of odd humor and conflict with a dash of romance, this might be a good story for you. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
