Carter Pugh you did it again, I enjoy reading your writing so much as I never really know where you will lead us.

Clarke’s Fae adventure was so fun to explore with her. The Fae world building. All the people she gets to meet on the way were so beautifully written with three dimensional characteristics.

As a Twilight fan, I am loving the whole Edward vs Jacob triangle between Clarke, Lachlan and Haywood.

I knew the ending would shock me but it was not what I expected, at all!

Thank you and I cannot wait for the final full length novel and the second prequel novella!

Death Twitch completely pulled me into Clarke’s world again, and wow—so many new twists and details that I literally had to pause and sit with everything! 🤯 Every page kept me on edge, and I found myself constantly wondering what’s coming next. Carter Pugh, you’ve done it again—I never know where you’ll lead us, and that’s what makes reading your books such an adventure! ✨📚

Exploring Clarke’s Fae adventure was such a joy! 🧚‍♀️ The world-building in Teleran was breathtaking—mysterious, enchanting, and full of danger at every turn. The characters she meets are so well-crafted and three-dimensional that I felt like I was right there with them. From allies to enemies, each encounter felt real and full of heart. 💫🌿

The plot had me gripped from the start—Clarke wakes up in this strange land, haunted by dreams that turn into a terrifying reality: her best friend Alison trapped in a dark cell, convinced Clarke’s mistake caused it all. Their friendship is pushed to its limits, and the tension, frustration, and heartbreak hit so deeply. 💔⏳

And that ending… oh my goodness! 😳 I knew it was going to shock me, but it absolutely blindsided me. It left me desperate to know more, aching for answers, and eagerly waiting for the next installment. Another cliffhanger to wreck me—but I wouldn’t have it any other way! 😭📖

✅ Perfect for fans of:
🧚‍♀️ Fae fantasy
💔 Emotional friendships tested
🔥 Love triangles with intense chemistry
⚔️ Adventure & rescue missions
🌑 Dark dungeons and secrets
✨ Beautiful world-building
📖 Fast-paced, twist-filled storytelling

Clarke’s journey into the realm of Teleran was both magical and heartbreaking. Waking in an unfamiliar land and racing against time to save Alison while unraveling dark secrets was such a thrilling ride. Meanwhile, Alison’s pain and anger in her gloomy cell added depth and raw emotion that made this story hit so close to home. It was impossible not to feel everything with them every step of the way. 💖🌪️

A huge thank you to the author for the ARC opportunity—this story left me obsessed and counting the days until the next release! 📚❤️✨

If you love a story full of mystery, heartbreak, magic, and twists, this is one you absolutely can’t miss! 🧚‍♀️⚡💖

I’m quite sad that it’s over, until the next book! When I heard there was going to be another book in the series I was so happy!
Death Twitch was full of adventure, there was never a dull moment. The character growth was lovely to read. I’ve been battling with Haywood vs Lachlan and can finally say that I am 100% settled on Lachlan😍 The new characters have all bought something new to the book. If you love fae and fantasy this book is for you! Also.. I am a sucker for some good SPICE! And my god does this book have it!
Can I just take a moment to acknowledge the last few chapters? Erm.. PLOT TWISTS!!! Ones I never saw coming at all! Looking forward to discovering more about Osiria and seeing where Carter takes us next.
Carter Pugh is such an incredible writer and I look forward to reading the rest of the series when they come out👠🖤

The first book gave us a murder mystery before cracking open into a hidden magical world; now this sequel drops us straight into a fae realm. Where book one teased at what lay beneath the surface, this one fully embraces the portal fantasy side of things, expanding the scope, the characters, and the world. It’s an entertaining and unique blend of urban fantasy, fae magic, and romance, and I definitely enjoyed the ride.

That said, the characters still felt very one-note to me; more like caricatures than fully realized people. The villains especially lacked nuance, with little exploration of their deeper motivations. I appreciated the touch of familial drama woven into the story, but that too could have gone further. Ultimately, this series shines as a dark, spicy, escapist romp into a fae world rather than a deeply layered character study.

If you’re looking for pure entertainment and don’t mind characters that lean broad, this series delivers on atmosphere and intrigue. For me personally, I wanted a bit more character depth beneath the magic.

Thank you so much to the lovely author and R&R Booktours for the complimentary copies of both books. I really appreciate it. This review is voluntary and all opinions are my own.

What. A. Ride. This was such a fantastic continuation of the series. Carter Pugh truly knows how to up the stakes while still giving us the character moments we crave. I loved Clarke’s growth in this one; she’s fierce, loving, hopeful, and so easy to root for. And the chemistry between her and Lachlan?? Electric. I also adore this ragtag band of misfits she’s surrounded by, every dynamic feels so real and earned.

Special shoutout to Haywood because I need him to find his person too. Protect that man at all costs.

And can we talk about those double whammy twists at the end??? I’ve been frozen in place for 30 minutes, fully unwell, unsure what to do with myself. Clarke being betrayed by the person/people she loves the most?!?!

I’m obsessed with this world, these characters, and this series. Carter Pugh, you’ve ruined me (in the best way). How am I supposed to wait for the next installment?

This is not a gene I read often. I went to a local book fair, met the author and decided to buy the books published so far in her series. I have thoroughly enjoyed the murder mystery/fae/fantasy aspects of the Death Book Series. There have been unexpected plot twists that for a regular thriller reader have kept me on my toes!! I cannot wait for the final book of the series and the surprise novella she is going to release as well!
