Cora is an Omega on a mission. She’s dedicated her life to archeology, and when she gets the chance to go on the dig of a lifetime, she can’t refuse—even if the other lead archeologist is the grumpy alpha who hates her.
When there’s a cave-in on the dig, Cora suddenly finds herself stuck in Lunara’s temple with the grumpy professor, the burly ex-military alpha, the sweet nerdy beta scientist, and an unhinged treasure hunter.
In order to make it out alive, they must put aside their differences and work together to solve Lunara’s puzzles. But when the dangers of the temple put Cora in heat, they find more than their lives at risk.
Welcome to Bone Town is intended for an 18+ audience.

This book was just as fun as everyone says it is. There’s mystery, intrigue, action, humor, magic, and a little peril. These authors definitely got the vibes right and struck a good balance between plot and romance. This is a pack-forming setup. Only Cora and Roman, who are colleagues, knew each other beforehand - and they didn’t get along. I loved reading how everyone slowly fell for one another. Bear and Archer were so sweet. Jax is a nut and puts it all out there. Roman is grumpy and can’t stop putting his foot is his mouth. There’s a fair bit of archeology and nerdy stuff, and I loved it. These characters are smart and act that way. For omegaverse, I’d say this is a medium burn book. The last chapter leaves open some exciting possibilities. I can’t wait to see what this author team comes up with next!
I've been sitting on completing this review because every time I've started it, I get sidetracked and start rambling. This book miiiiight just be the perfect amalgamation of the humour of The Goonies + the adventure of The Mummy and wrapped in a lil omegaverse bow.
Our story centers around 2 archeologists (Dr. Cora and Dr. Roman) who are chosen to lead the dig of the potential site of the Lunara Temple, Archer the scientist, Bear the security/medic, and Jax the...treasure hunter?
Without going into spoilery specifics, Jax is the best mix of Mouth and Rick O'Connell. I think if follow this man into any adventure. Or at the very least be super chill if we explored an ancient site together? Friends, this is all I'm going to give you, if it's peaked your interest, you should put on your adventure shoes and see what you can dig up!
I am of the opinion every millennial holds some nostalgia for either The Mummy, The Goonies or Indiana Jones. All 3 of these were referenced in reviews or the author note for this book. I was skeptical if it would really evoke the feelings I had for those movies or if this was just pandering. While it wasn’t bad it all fell a bit flat. I think the biggest issue was there was too much going on. None of the characters really knew each other before the events in this book so everyone had to build a relationship. Three of the characters have some issues to work on. Then there is the whole archeological dig/ getting trapped in a tomb. Plus lots of smut. It was just a lot to pack into a sub 400 page book without most of it feeling underdeveloped. It’s a diet version of The Mummy with a lot more spice.
Spicy, the mummy/Indiana Jones, why choose goodness. I don't know how to describe this adequately but it pure bliss. It's fun and hot and the plot is totally up my alley. There is this once in a lifetime chance to be included in a archeology dig in the desert and the artifacts could be life changing. If you are up for an adventure read this book immediately!
I'm speechless. I don't even know where to start. From the very first page to the last I was obsessed. Cora, Roman, Bear, Archer and Jax pulled me in so quick and had me not wanting to leave them! I keep changing my favourite, one minute it's Jax and then Bear and Archer do something then they race to the top spot and then Roman shows his feelings so he's on top so I'm officially putting them all in first place! I'm so glad they all got their HEA! But that ending! I can't wait for that to be explored!
I'm so upset this book is over! I loved every second I was reading it and got so attached to these characters (especially Jax, but I loved them all).
After reading the dedication, one of my favourites I've read so far, I had so much hope for what this book could be, and it delivered on all levels! The spice, the adventure, THE HEAT....literally everything I wanted. Sometimes, it takes me a bit to warm up to Omegaverse plotlines, but Welcome to Bone Town had all the elements of an Omegaverse I love without the ones I'm more hesitant about.
I loved the backdrop of this story, too! Archeology and similar areas have always fascinated me, and I really enjoyed getting to see some of that here.
There was one thing that didn't quite work as well for me, though. There was a moment where Cora let Roman lead, and I thought she took a bit of a step back as a character. I really wanted to see her step forward and take the lead there to show that she wasn't helpless and that, while she didn't need alphas or their protection, she still chose them.
I can't wait for the next book in the series! I'll miss all these characters (especially Jax, I might have a slight obsession....) but I'm looking forward to meeting Caspian and his soon-to-be packmates!
3.5 stars On the whole, I enjoyed this story and the Indiana jones homage of it all. It was fun to see them grow together and become a pack in difficult circumstances. Roman opened up, Archer and Cora gained some self confidence, Bear took some risks, and Dax settled down some. I really wanted to understand more about the MCs pasts, especially Dax’s, but he remained a bit of an enigma to the end. I didn’t like the “magic cures a chronic illness” storyline, but it is in the author’s content warnings.
Spice: 5/5
Triggers: mention of organized religion, discussion of childhood trauma (off page), minor stalking, voyeurism, exhibitionism, violence, minor bloodshed, animal attacks, biting, discussion of infertility and pregnancy (no pregnancy on page), FMC with chronic illness that is “cured” by magic
I received an advanced copy of this book from Thea Masen in exchange for a review. I will be honest, I applied for this ARC because of the catchy title and premise of an "Indiana Jones" style omegaverse. I had not heard of Thea Masen or any of her stories prior to this and I was absolutely delighted to find that Welcome to Bonetown was a well thought out and well written story of four characters brought together at an archeological site dig. I specifically enjoyed that the relationships between the Alphas and Beta were also explored and not all of the focus was on the Omega. It made the circumstances of them coming together as a pack more realistic (even if they were brought together because of a magical artifact from the Omega goddess). I highly recommend this book!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 👀Tropes: Welcome to Bone Town is an adventurous non shifter omegaverse with forced proximity, scent matches, fated mates, and open door spicy scenes. ☠️CW: Light stalking, animal death (for food), infertility discussion, designation dysphoria 📚Read Method: Kindle eBook ARC ✨My Thoughts: What an amazing adventure to read this book. I was lucky enough to receive this ARC as long as I left an honest review, and I'm being completely honest when I say I devoured this book. What a fun and adventurous book. This MMMFM book stars Cora going on an archeological dig with a grumpy professor alpha, meeting a burly ex-military alpha, a sweet nerdy beta scientist, and an unhinged alpha treasure hunter. 💖Quotes: - "She's stunning. All fired up and flushed. Spittin' mad. Yelling at some alpha I'd be happy to punish for her. Wonder if he'd enjoy that. Would she want to watch?" - Doctor? Well damn, I should know better than to judge a woman, especially an omega, on her looks. My sister would smack me upside the head if she knew where my thoughts went first, and rightly so. - "That's it, baby. You gonna come just from grinding your cock against your alpha?" - "Shhh, hummingbird, I've got you."

Synopsis: Cora has dedicated her career to being a scholar of Lunara, an ancient deity believed to be the goddess of omegas. Now, faced with the opportunity to be a lead archaeologist on an excavation thought to be Lunara’s temple, she couldn’t be more excited! Except, she finds out that the grumpy professor that hates her is her co-lead. On site, Cora finds herself drawn to the security alpha, highly intelligent beta scientist, and unbelievably, her grumpy colleague. But things go awry when it becomes clear she has something of a harmless stalker, with whom she, along with her team, gets trapped in a cave-in in Lunara’s temple.
Thoughts: TLDR; An enthralling nod to adventure classics such as Indiana Jones and The Mummy, Welcome to Bonetown is an incredibly fun and daring take on omegaverse!
If there’s one way to ensure an Ash brain-gasm, it’s to give something I love an anthropological twist. So imagine my delight when I saw this archaeological adventure omegaverse! And let me say, it absolutely brought all of the humor, danger, magic, adventure, and knots! I really enjoyed this one, y’all. It was so much fun.
First, I really loved the lore the authors created surrounding their omega deity, Lunara. The backstory behind the temple and the little bits of supernatural mystery were incredibly immersive! Second, the characters were simply delightful. Each one of them brought something different and unique to the group, and I thought they really worked well together. Despite trying my best to not have a favorite, Jax, the mischievous treasure hunter really won me over with his outrageous, unhinged shenanigans!
As for the romance, y’all know there’s hardly anything better than a forced proximity surprise heat to really make the characters face their reality and get knotting. Expect unique sexy time locations complete with dangerous booby traps and creepy crawlies!
Definitely recommend to OV readers, especially those that love humor and hijinx.

The authors’ tribute to beloved archeological adventure movies are reimagined in the context of an omegaverse and made for a fast paced romance where more than the characters’ hearts were in peril.
I loved every minute of this book, so reminiscent of Indiana Jones! The characters were unique, each bringing something to the table that the group needed to survive being trapped in Lunara’s Temple. Cora is brilliant, strong, feisty, knows her own mind, and won’t allow men to make decisions for her based on her biology. But, she also has hidden insecurities rooted in her inability to go into heat and bond with a mate. This emotional insecurity makes for a great balance with her apparent self-sufficiency.
The sense of fate/the goddess playing a major roll in bringing these five people together, in this place and at this time, is undeniable and an aspect of the story that I particularly appreciated.
Of course there’s plenty of running from life threatening danger within Lunara’s temple with snakes, scorpions, near drowning….and all the spice! This is one raucous ride you don’t want to miss!
I had the opportunity to read an advance copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.
I need the next part of this book ASAP! I’m completely obsessed with this story—the characters, the world-building, everything about it is absolutely amazing. It’s like Indiana Jones meets The Mummy… but even better because it’s omegaverse!
This pack is everything—each member has their own spark that makes them so perfect together. I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite character even if I tried, because I love them all!
I adore Roman’s grumpy vibe—he resists our omega so hard but ends up worshiping the ground she walks on. Archer, our sweet Beta, is so thoughtful and always looking out for everyone. Bear, the group’s protector, completely stole my heart… and when I found out his real name, I lost it laughing. And Jax? Yes, I’m obsessed. His bold, funny personality had me hooked.
This book is overflowing with spice, action, and adventure. Thea and Clover absolutely nailed it—I’m in love with this story, and I need more!
Holy hot, smashed this out of the park. Jax gives Indiana jones vibes for sure and Cora is such a baddie with her nerdy love of the old world omegas. This is a massive must read for OV fans who loved the mummy/Indiana jones growing up because it has a lot of similar vibes for sure. I love the nods to different pop culture things and how the characters grow into their own. The authors were amazing and provide pictures for certain plot relevant pieces in the book which helps quite a bit. Honestly I know this is a made up world but I would love to know more about the whole Lunara religion and the so called goddess of this world because it all seems to intriguing and fascinating to me. I highly recommend this read and I’m so glad I was able to get the chance to be an ARC reader for this book(it’s my first ever ARC read.)
Just suspend reality for a minute and come on this ride with me. Ok what do you get when you take a little Indiana Jones, a lot of The Mummy and make it an Omegaverse set in an ancient temple archeological site in the middle of the desert? Welcome to Bone Town!
That title will never not make me lol 😆 Ok onto the book. Unbounded Omega Cora has been assigned the job of a lifetime. Lead archeologist on a dig to find the temple of the original Omega Goddess. Unfortunately for Cora she must also work with fellow professor and alpha Roman Slate. Roman is 100% negatively biased towards Omegas and wants nothing to do with Cora. Or so he says 😏 Add in Beta nerd Archer, big boi alpha and dig site security lead Bear, and Indian Jones wannabe treasure hunter Jax and we have the beginnings of a banging good time 🤭 After an impressive cave in these five find themselves stuck in an underground temple with no way out and no scent blockers. You guys know what happens next right???
This book was a kick my feet good time. The banter. The steam 😮💨 If you’re a fan of OV definitely add this one to your TBR!
We’ve got: - ancient mythology - hate to lust - MM relationships - forced proximity - hurt/comfort - chronic illness rep
I loved this so much. There was adventure, twists and turns, this book did not let up. I was hooked from the beginning. I loved the magic and mystery. This was such a unique take. Read this! You will not regret it.
Yeah that yanked me out of my slump… I’m so happy to have picked this up at Monsterotica!! My inner Dino- loving nerd was squealing the entire book!!! I think I read this in a matter of hours, I didn’t put it down. No notes, simply amazing.
I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was pure, freaking magic!!!
I LOVE a good Omegaverse! Take that and give it an Indian Jones/The Mummy vibe, and I'm done. Cooked. Absolutely slayed.
What a diverse group to pull together. Masen and Holloway wove 3 Alpha's, with incredibly varied personalities, together with the sweetest Omega and nerdy Beta to create a phenomenal relationship that complemented the plot SO well.
Each character was developed so well and each was given a good amount of action that it felt like I knew each one well.
I loved the adventure! The plot was thick and juicy and drove the story. I loved how it drew our characters together and built a solid foundation for them to grow.
And that epilogue?!?!? Screaming, crying, throwing up!!! I'm so excited for more from this dynamic author duo. A pair that writes so seamlessly together is a treasure!
This book was absolutely amazing! Like, so good. I was cackling laughing, I had a raging good time, the spice was immaculate. Just, 10/10 stars.
This book is if you took the movie the mummy, added Indiana Jones, and made it omegaverse! Such a fun adventure, and I loved the romance! We had amazing MM romance as well to the romance with the FMC and all her men. I loved that we had a beta in the group and he was just as wanted and loved.
Seriously, I cannot say enough things. Read this book! You will not be disappointed!
ARC Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ “What’s a little light stalking between mates? It’s only because I’m obsessed with you.”
Fun! Spicy! Hilarious!
Ok, I was sold on the premise - Indiana Jones meets The Mummy plus Omegaverse? Hell yeah! The experience of reading the book was even better than I expected. Seriously, this was such an easy and spicy read that still had me all up in my feels (grumpy ass professor just aching to be the fun police, and the sweetest of sweet betas who needs to know just how much he is loved and wanted).
This is the perfect introduction to the omegaverse sub-genre with a great blend of spice and plot. A mixed burn why choose romance with MM, scent matches lead to instant attraction but not instant knotting and slick.
Welcome to Bone Town is a complete standalone that ends in a HEA.
Thanks to the authors for the advance copy for review.
That was such a fun time! I loved this omegaverse dynamic so much. I was surprised at just how much character and plot development existed in something titled “welcome to bone town”. I am so excited for what she has in store for us next!
“Bones and jackals and scent matches. Oh my.” Am I-into omegaverse now? Spoiler alert, only if it’s written by Clover & Thea. This was all the vibes I needed in an omegaverse. Mummy and Indiana Jones vibes with all the heat. (Pun intended). Get ready for a slow burn to scorching desert sand spice. This pack can get it, anytime, any place. Phenomenal!
This was my first omegaverse and what an introduction! Seriously, this was actually a good introductory book because it explained things in a clear way without getting bogged down in exposition.
Masen and Holloway managed to write a delightfully spicy, captivating, funny, and sweet read. I loved the characters, and the interactions between everyone, and the special interactions and the softness between certain pairings was so wonderful to read and so well done. And of course I have my favorites (how could anyone not immediately fall for Jax!)
Even though there are five super hawt characters, there is a good plot in the beginning that kept me interested. After maybe the 70% mark, the spice definitely comes into play, but there is still a plot to follow and finish the book.
Please check the warnings because there are some heavier topics, and if those are ok, I highly recommend this book.
I took a chance on a new-to-me author and have zero regrets! Welcome to Bone Town was so good!
I love a fresh take on the Omegaverse genre and archaeology is definitely a new one for me. I thoroughly enjoyed this book AND the teaser for a new series at the end.
Adventure, hilarious banter, angst, magic, and great spice. This book has everything your little omega heart could desire.
This gives off the wonderful vibes of all those great archeological/treasure hunting movies I grew up on. Then add an omegaverse twist and I was hooked.
I know what you’re thinking. “What the heck is this title? Really? This is ridiculous.” And it is…but it caught your attention, didn’t it? You came for the title, but you’ll stay for the menagerie of men, the Adventureverse lore, and Indiana Jones style adventure. Do I need to mention the spice? You should know it’s top knot-ch (see what I did there?)
I’ll be honest. I was like you. I was an ARC reader who came for the plot but eyerolled at the title. Much to my honest shock, I was hooked from the very beginning. The storytelling, the style of the authors, the characters. I fell in love faster than a skydiver. I devoured this book, hung on every word, and have more highlights than I can even share. It’s so quotable.
This is a polyamorous, omegaverse book that doesn’t ONLY deliver on the spice but gives us all we could ever want in regards to the relationship dynamics. It can be hard to make every relationship in a Why Choose feel natural, but they did it. As a reader, you desperately want them all to be together! Every character is given their time in the limelight. They’re all different and their traits balance together to build the perfect pack. Every flavor is represented in the group and they work so, so well together. They all have their unique issues and storylines.
I loved every. Single. Page. It had me laughing, it brought a few tears, and more than a few gasps. Nothing feels trite or overdone. It’s all so smoothly woven together. Honestly, this was such a good book. I cannot recommend it enough. I would willingly just throw it at passersby on the street. It’s *chefs kiss*
I love a good omegaverse story, but this one wasn’t for me. I ultimately skimmed the last 40% as a result, and really only finished it because of how many high star reviews it had.
The idea behind the story is fun! Who doesn’t love a touch of The Mummy and Indiana Jones? And the history of there being religion based on Omegas? Haven’t seen that before so kudos for the new idea! But ultimately the writing itself felt underdeveloped for my tastes and that made it very hard to get into the story.
If you enjoy OV’s, give it a try; I hope it works out better for you. However, I will not be continuing on in this universe/series.
I REALLY enjoyed this spicy RH with a really cute and fun plot. It has great timing for everyone story and spicy moments. It was also well written and paced to perfection. I couldn't put it down and read it in one day.
Having read Zero to 69, of which two of the three authors are Thea Masen and Clover Holloway, I had little doubt that their new collaboration would result in a high-quality book that I would really enjoy. Once again, my instincts were right. I devoured Welcome to Bone Town in just two days and wouldn’t have minded a few more pages to sink my teeth into. In a few words: I loved this story. In addition, the humour that the two authors use in their writing is very much present and just as incredible as in any of their other books.
From the dedication, the authors had me in the palm of their hand. The mere mention of The Mummy or The Mummy Returns is enough to send me into a monologue describing the impact these two films had on my adolescence—and probably my sexual orientation, like so many others. To this day, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen them, but the number must be astronomical.
When I read a book, I’m a person who pays a lot of attention to how the words make me feel—probably because of my aphantasia, which prevents me from visualising images. When I read Welcome to Bone Town, I immediately connected with the characters and the emotions they were experiencing.
At the beginning of the book, we meet Cora and Roman. I liked the feisty side of Cora. She is sassy, smart and knows what she wants. I also liked the more fragile version of the doctor, which is mainly a result of her health issues. As for Roman, as soon as a male character has a grumpy side, I’m a goner. Although there were times when I wanted to knock some sense back into his supposedly developed brain, I also enjoyed seeing the cracks in his shell—even more so when he finally managed to open his eyes and realise the opportunities that lay before him.
Then we meet the other three characters in the book: Archer, Bear and Jax. Archer is a young beta scientist who is absolutely adorable. Honestly, how could you not fall in love with him? I liked the softness he brought amongst the three testosterone-fuelled alphas. I’m really happy for him that he’s finally found the place he deserves. Then comes Bear. When you hear that an alpha is a former military man who is now the head of a security team, you don’t expect a big teddy bear with a huge heart, but that’s exactly what (teddy) Bear is. Finally, the last member of this unlikely group is Jax, a modern-day Indiana Jones whose morals are somewhat questionable, but whose loyalty and devotion make it easy to forgive his somewhat illegal business activities.
Individually, these five characters don’t seem to have much in common apart from the place where they ‘work’, but when they’re all together, nothing is more obvious than the bond that unites them.
As well as the relationships between the characters—which is my favourite aspect of a book—I also really enjoyed the adventure side of the story. I was really drawn in by the archaeological and mythological elements that Clover Holloway and Thea Masen invented. I could go on and on about this, but I don’t want to spoil the book with this review.
I can’t wait to find out what the two authors have in store for us next.
I highly recommend this story to all Omegaverse fans and those who are curious about the genre.
Many thanks to Thea Masen and Clover Holloway for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of Welcome to Bone Town. This review is my own. All opinions expressed are mine.
