Used to doing as she pleases, consequences be damned, party-girl Sloane O’Brien is the rebellious youngest daughter of the most powerful Irish mobster in Boston. People flock to her and the tabloids love her.
Then, her father dies.
Now, she’s just a pawn for her eldest sister to use. Including being offered as a lucrative bride to their family’s rival, Alessio De Luca. It might be to broker a business deal between two warring families, but Sloane knows a leash when she sees it. And she’s not one to be tamed.
Lex De Luca is sin incarnate - with a past to match. In order to get her freedom, Sloane will have to sabotage her marriage to the dangerous heir apparent, doing everything possible to get him to reject her. Unfortunately, he likes her fight. A little too much. And he plans on never letting her leave.
Just as Lex starts to break down the barriers into Sloane’s heart, it’s discovered a traitor has been putting the blame on Lex and is causing tensions to rise between the two families. Knowing her sister doesn’t take well to problems, Sloane has a choice to make - stay with Lex and fight for their marriage and therefore their alliance, or for her coveted freedom. And she’ll have to do it quickly.
E.D Crowe is a new author who runs on coffee, chaos, and unhealthy amounts of dark chocolate.
When not writing (which is a lot), she can be found howling at the moon, crafting potions in her kitchen or swooning over the deranged villains.
She has two Australian Shepherds who think they’re lap dogs, three feral children, and a golden retriever husband who is as far from the villain as possible.
We all want someone who will love us for our true selves, and Lex did just that.
His filthy dirty mouth and when he says my wife. 😮💨😈
I loved Sloane. She was vulnerable, sassy, and real.
I enjoyed The Mafia’s Bride. It was different from all the other mafia books I’ve read. I look forward to continuing this series and reading more E.D. Crowe’s books.
Bi fmc that has been treated horribly by her father so she doesn't want to get married to someone she didn't pick and the MMC is like let her do her worst while being down bad for her
He even says that if you want to bring a woman to bed you can but i won't see anyone but you, i will do anything to make you happy
safety! its been a while for him, not even a smidge of OW for him,, but FMC had all the plan to sleep with her OW before they get married cuz she didn't want to get married and this was her plan to defy he stops it, but they have been making out no ow after this
i had so much reading it and i can't wait for author's next book!!!
I liked the beginning of this series, perhaps I liked the prequel more, but I found everything I like in this book. I liked Alessio from the start, but it took me longer to connect with Sloane.
I know the author hasn't written many books and I'm sure her writing still has to improve, but I'll continue reading her work. In this book, I found moments where the same idea was repeated, which I found excessive, but even so, it wasn't too tedious to read. The plot is good, as is the plot twist. I'm sure she'll give us some good moments.
4.5⭐️ 3🌶️ 🔥Mafia Romance 🔥Hate to Love 🔥He Falls First 🔥Arranged Marriage 🔥Strong Heroine 🔥Found Family
The Mafia’s Bride is so much more than a mafia arranged marriage romance. It’s about a young woman who has never felt loved or seen by her family. Then chases away the numbness with drinking, pills, and partying. All that changes for Solane when she is made to marry Lex, he is the first to appreciate her fire and see her intelligence. Sloane tries to break the engagement by destroying his car and taking out a billboard to embarrass him. She does anything to break the engagement, but Lex doesn’t leave, he wants her even more. When her attempts to sabotage the engagement fail, her next plan is to get Lex to divorce her. On the other hand Lex does everything he can to get her to admit she’s his and to stay. He quickly falls for her and becomes protective of her even against her own family. Lex is the first to stand up for her and accept her for who she is, mess and all. I loved how Zio Nico and Zia Maria took to Sloanne and made her feel like part of the family, giving her something she never had before. Lex is having trouble with shipments going missing and he suspects it’s an inside job. This threatens to dissolve the alliance with Sloane’s family and even their marriage if he can’t figure out who is behind it. He won’t let anyone take Sloane away from him. This was a great romance, with a mystery, suspense, and some delicious spice. I’m looking forward to reading the prequel and learning more about Sloane’s older sister. It will have to hold me over because we have to wait until next year for book two!

A Few Favorite Quotes:
“But to come after my manhood in full view of the public? It was daring, ballsy, and just the tad bit adorable.”
“Of course. Not many people can get past my security, f*€k with my car, and then walk away.” The confidence alone deserved a trophy. “She deserves a reward for the bravery to do it.”
“Like Sloane, a rose with thorns, only able to be picked by those daring enough to try.”
“My entire body is nothing more than his toy, being brought to heights I’ve never experienced.”
“I glance back, pushing up to see his slacks stained with his cum. He winks at me, sucking his bottom lip into his mouth, chin glistening. “I couldn’t help it. You tasted too good to stop it.” He came from just getting me off? My blush grows and my mouth drops in surprise.”
“Let’s make one thing clear, little menace. I don’t f*€k anyone but you. No one touches me but you. No one comes near my co€k because it is yours. I made a f*€king promise to you on our wedding day, and I intend on keeping it until death.”
“I don’t need a man to be happy,” I remind her. “No one does.” “No, but love can make you happy. You deserve love, Sloaney.”
“It terrifies me to know he won’t leave. Even after the chaos, the mess, the fights. Lex is still here, wanting me. No one has ever done that before.”
In desperate need for more books in this series already! If you know anything about me, you know I am a sucker for a good mafia romance! E.D. Crowe did not disappoint! This book had my attention the whole time! There is a power in finding yourself and not always knowing what you want. Many of the characters in this book express love and loyalty different! I came to adore the relationship of these sisters as the story unfolded. So much so I ran to download the prequel 🤍
Sloane: A woman chasing chaos to help the numbness she felt from abandonment and lack of love as a child. Her strength and stubbornness ended up being her greatest asset. She is witty and smart mouthed but her devotion to her family/loved ones by the end of the book is admirable.
Alessio: A man dealt a bad hand in the beginning of life, suffering immense amounts of trauma. He was written perfectly for this story. His patience and devotion to his wife was everything! The way he supported Sloane to have the freedom she craved was 🤌🏻😘
Thank you for the ARC copy!! I’m officially a huge fan! Can’t wait to see what’s next in this series.
This is my first book by E.D. Crowe and I loved every minute of it 😊 This book follows Sloane the pill popping party animal from the Irish Clan and Alessio (Lex) the next inline to be Capo from the Italian mafia.
Sloane is the youngest daughter in her family and often left to her own devices going out and getting drunk, popping pills and ending up in the media as a way to get the attention that she so desperately wants.
Alessio was in a house fire as a child killing his mum and baby sister that let him burnt and scared which left to be raised by his auntie and uncle and a truce between the families was called for an arranged marriage between the MCs after the death of Sloane's father.
I really enjoyed this book especially at the engagement dinner when Sloane chucks a wine glass at Alessio's head and the twist that happens later on when things start to fall into place.
Holy. Freaking. Airball. This book 😩😩😩 E.D. Crowe…I may be in love with you. Just saying…anyone who can create a character like Lex has a permanent place in my heart. I’ll start this review by saying, there is a novella that comes before this book…read it. You don’t HAVE to, BUT…it will definitely give you some good back story on the FMC’s sister which definitely helps you understand the story more.
Sloane is our FMC, sassy, firey, loud and at times reckless. But behind the chaos that surrounds Sloane is an immense amount of pain. She’s never experienced any kind of love in her life. Not from her parents, family or friends. Seen as just an object, she learned to depend only on herself…developing a sense of numbness that pushed her to be the hurricane that she is right now. Doing anything to feel something other than the numbness that consumes her. When her father passes away, her sister becomes the one in charge and arranges a marriage for her.
Lex is our MMC. This man is everything you could possibly want. Is he dangerous and dark ? Yes. Absolutely. But for one woman and one woman alone, he is soft…loving…caring. And that woman is Sloane. Lex has had his fair share of trauma in his past, he knows how it can change people. So when he gets ready to take Sloane on ad his wife , he’s ready for whatever she throws at him. And trust me…she throws quite a lot his way.
Sloane is NOT happy about the marriage. She does everything to try and break the engagement. Embarrassing him, hating him…threatening him , which had me cackling 🤭 but none of it phases Lex…and he continues with the marriage. Once in the marriage , Sloane tries to get him to divorce her by ramping up her chaos. But Lex…he knows what she is doing…and he has no intention of leaving her. He has fallen for her fast and hard. He knows how to quiet the storm inside of her and is determined to prove to her that despite her past, he won’t ever treat her the same. That she’s worthy and deserving of love…and he wants to give her that and more.
Now don’t get it confused….this man also knows when to put his foot down and get her to calm down. He’s not just letting her walk all over him. But it’s definitely with love and it’s something she’s never had and definitely needs. He stands by her side and stands up for her against her family. She is HIS WIFE and makes sure that everyone remembers it.
And in the bedroom??? 😮💨😮💨😮💨 the mouth on this man is DIABOLICAL. SERIOUSLY…I was blushing and screaming through these spicy scenes….i was feral and I need more ASAP. THE THINGS I WOULD LET THIS MAN DO TO ME 😩😩😩
As with any good mafia romance, there is a heft helping of suspense when a mole tries to ruin shipments and threatens his marriage with Sloane…and that just will not fly. Lex will burn the world down….literally….before letting anyone take Sloane from him.
I’m obsessed. I need more. No pressure…but like…when’s the next book ? 👀👀
Thank you so much to E.D. Crowe and Greys Promo for the opportunity to ARC read this INCREDIBLE book! 🖤

ARC Review: The prequel was soooo good! Short but super spicy! Highly recommend reading it before this book. I devoured this book and loved every bit of it. It was full of plot and spice and ended up being pretty equal in that aspect (super hard to come by I find). Another thing I loved was how detailed this book seemed to be! I honestly can’t wait for the next book to come out!
The grammatical errors in this book killed me. While I liked each in the beginning, I did find myself growing annoyed with both main characters. One, the FMC was childish in a way that wasn’t cute. Two, the MMC was spineless. I appreciated that the FMC was bisexual and the FMC supported it. I liked the story but certain things needed tweaking and editing which left it at 2 stars for me.
Now listen.. I love a good Mafia Romance but this book… It was the BEST one so far. I loved the MMC & MFC so much. They were perfect for each other in every way. I also love the Female charge of the Mafia. You do not see that often in books like this and it was a great change of scenery. I immediately was left wanting more of this entire Family. I can’t wait to see what the Author has in store for us in future books.
Note: actually ended up reading till the end. It was safe from this point ^ but in his pov it was often mentioned how he doesn’t get attached to women, how he had many but none had that affect on him etc but she’s supposed to be the player🙄

Not safe for me
He is at the club watching 2 women getting it on and one of them is the fmc but he DOESN’T know its her.
“Rounding the corner, I stop dead, taken back by the sight of two women, fumbling against the back stairwell.”… “Regardless, I can’t be too mad at the turn of events. After the shit day I’ve had with the informant, this is a welcomed reprieve. I watch their mouths clash together, feminine purrs echoing around in the relative silence.”… “The one against the wall is a pretty enough blonde, thin as a board in a pink eyesore dress. Her skirt is crumpled at her hips, bare pussy gleaming under the emergency lights ( not the fmc btw). I lean against the wall, casually enjoying as the other woman plays along her seam, fingers curving and plunging in earnest.”
“Fuck, I shouldn’t watch. But they’re right here, out in the open, waiting for someone to walk in on them. And it’s been so long since I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing this kind of action. I’ve always liked to be an active participant but watching after the night I’ve had? I’ll take a win when I can get one.”
“Before I can say anything, or adjust myself—fuck am I hard—Barbie spins the other woman into the wall, hiking her skirt skyward.”
“My eyes narrow, something familiar about their placement. Like I’ve seen them before, on another redhead. She moans lowly, a sultry mewl and my body jolts, recognition hitting my chest like a fucking bullet. Even under the terrible lightening, unable to make out more than a few details, I know that voice.”
First thing I would like to say is I was so appreciative that the author actually wrote a mafia romance, not just a romance with some mafia mentions. This is a true mafia romance, where you get to dive into the world of the O'Brien clan and the De Luca family.
I absolutely love the entire story of this book, where the focus is not solely on the romance between MMC Lex and FMC Sloane, but we dive into each character, their personality, their past that makes them who they are today, and then we get to see them develop as a couple. I love the mafia part of this book, where you go into the office with Lex and read about the actual goings on of the mafia underworld. None of the characters try to act like what they do is anything "wholesome" but do take their business very seriously, and won't hesitate to cut anyone down who goes against them.
Sloane is such an awesome character, she has the whole "devil may care" attitude towards her life, partying and continuing to live up to being a disappointment to her father. While her lifestyle isn't all that healthy, she does unexpectedly find her equal in the arranged marriage with Lex. Although, she has every intention of making the marriage fail initially, she soon learns that the De Luca clan see their wives as much more than just property. Finally having someone who sees her, and appreciates her for all her great qualities, brain and beauty, she starts to realize she can be something more than a party girl.
And Lex, with every intention of owning Sloane, owning her body and soul, as his equal, you will absolutely love his character. Grab a copy of this book so you can read about this bad boy who tames the wild princess, his little menace.
Some fav quotes: "He smells like sin and that's exactly the type of person I could lose myself in, really amp up the distraction I need to escape reality."
"She's a flame and I'm a moth, readying to be devoured whole by her fire."
"It says a lot about me that someone threatening me is foreplay."
""I will own every single inch of your body and heart, Sloane. So do your worst because you can't escape me.""
"She's a Goddamn fallen angel and I'm ready to fall to my knees for just one scathing word from her red lips."
""I own your body. I own your soul. And now I'll own those ferocious words, that terribly bite because it's mine. I love your fight, but I want every part of you that I can get. Everything you are, is mine.""
"It's good to be in an alliance with a psychopath."
""You'll be mine even after death, I'll make sure to never let you go.""
Thank you so much to the author for a copy of this book!!
The Mafia’s Bride - 3.75⭐️ MMC Alessio (Lex) DeLuca FMC Sloane O’Brien ❤️Tropes: arranged marriage, scarred MMC, Irish m0b/m@fia, enemies to lovers, curvy queen, dirty talking, “my wife”, emotional healing, strong FMC - didn’t need a man to save her, she saved herself 💪 📍Setting: Boston 💁POV: duel, first person 🖤Darkness level: 2.5/5 🔥Spice starts at 30% kind of 🌶️Spice 2/5 📚Plot 4/5 🌎World building 4/5 ⚠️Triggers: child trauma & @buse, house fire, depression, drǔg use, attempted SA
I’m sorry - it’s a me problem. Enemies to lovers and slow burn is just soooooo frustrating! I really just wanted them to bang. 🤪 Seriously. It took FOREVER!
But otherwise, I enjoyed this book. The writing was good. The FMC was relatable, she feels neglected and abandoned by her family so she turns to toxic forms of attention and love. She’s a party girl that loves paparazzi attention, bi-s3xual with her friend, who is the only person to not judge her (also because her friend is a bigger mess than she is 🤷♀️) lots of dr^gs, smex and booze to numb her pain. She’s also throws lots of tantrums, which sometimes were amusing and made me giggle, other times rolling my eyes like GIRL - he’s not that bad!!! The MMC is scarred, but so sweet and supportive.
Sloane comes from an Irish m0b family, she’s the youngest sister. Her oldest sister, Maeve, takes over the family when their father dies. I’m excited to read more about her - she’s a bad ass 💪!! Although Maeve claims it’s for her safety, she signs over Sloane to the heir of the DeLuca m@fia family with an arranged marriage, and Sloane will find any way to get out of the marriage - but needs Lex to call it off so she can claim innocence. Unfortunately most of her antics just amused Lex, he loved her fight and nothing she could do would make him call off the wedding.
Sloane’s character development was great. She went from a self centered party girl brat to a responsible and caring m@fia queen. The m@fia politics were fun, but I definitely guessed the antagonist pretty early on. Overall, pretty solid read - I’m excited to read about other others in the family!
What is it about this author that makes her such a phenomenal writer? Everything I’ve read by her has been so good. She gives you just enough to keep you fully invested, but always leaves you wanting more.
I actually read her second book first, which is much darker than the first, but honestly either order works. The way she handles triggering content and backstory is done so thoughtfully—it never feels overwhelming, yet the characters are still actively dealing with their trauma instead of it being brushed aside. That balance is something she does incredibly well.
In this story, we have Sloan and Lex. Sloan has spent her entire life being told she’s not good enough—that she’s the wild child, the embarrassment, the shame. She’s never truly felt loved. She’s been pushed aside, used, and made to believe she was disposable. Watching her slowly come to the realization that she was worthy all along is heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.
When someone finally stands up, fights for you, and chooses to keep you, it changes everything. It forces you to see your own worth—even when the people around you never showed you that you had any. And that journey is what makes this story hit so deeply.
“She’s a flame and I’m a moth, readying to be devoured whole by her fire”
This was such a fun and steamy read! I didn’t go into this book with high expectations but this one totally surprised me!
The writing had me hooked right away. Lex was definitely the MAN. He’s protective, loyal, and absolutely down bad for Sloane. And i know Sloane took a while to warm up to him and the entire arrangement. But her growth at the end made it worth it.
And I’m so ready for more stories!!
Thank you E.D Crowe and Grey’s Promotions for this ARC and the opportunity to read this beautiful book!
Tropes : 💀 Possesive MMC 💀 Heroine in Danger 💀 Arranged marriage 💀 Prickly and Sassy FMC 💀 Tragic past 💀 Enemies to lovers 💀 Touch her and Dïe
Thanks so much for the opportunity to read this ARC. I did read the novella before starting and recommend that everyone does that to have background information on Maeve & Killian.
I really enjoyed Sloane and Lex’s story. The pacing was good, spice was spicing, and full of action. I did figure out the antagonist immediately and felt that Sloane and Lex falling in love with so little interaction seemed somewhat unbelievable. That being said, I really enjoyed the book and would read the next book in the series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was a good mafia romance. I enjoyed the suspense and drama. Alessio is a typical mafia Don. But Sloane is outspoken and unapologetic. Which is everything Alessio, Lex, wants.
It’s an arranged marriage. And Sloane does her best to get the contract ended. But everything just pulls Lex in closer. It was quick and didn’t drag out any problems, miscommunications, or issues. However, sometimes that made it seem like they were just glossed over.
It’s a solid HEA. And I enjoyed reading it.
I received an ARC for free. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
I really enjoyed this book! It follows Alessio (Lex) the chosen heir of the DeLuca empire, as he enters into a contact marriage with Sloane, the youngest daughter of the O’Brien clan. Sloane is a party girl who feels like she is never good enough and she certainly doesn’t want to be married off to an accused murderer- we follow her as she does everything in her power to sabotage her “relationship” and it is a ride! This book is full of banter, tension, lots of spice, and definitely some romance. But there’s also another plot happening that involves betrayal, violence, suspicion, murder, and an excellent twist at the end! Check trigger warnings before reading.
This book had such great potential, but around 70% of this book everything just flopped. It felt like everything in the book changed, like a switch was flipped.
The main characters were nicely done, but Aces' character is, in my opinion, very poorly done. I feel like the author focused more on the main characters and that is totally alright.
The concept was alright, and it is literally that TikTok sound "The story that you're about to see was told before..", but like every mafia book, it is the same in some aspects. I have yet to read a mafia book with a unique concept that I have never read before. But that won't stop me reading them, because I love mafia romance books🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Overall, it's not a bad book. I recommend giving it a try.
I really liked Sloane and Alessio's story 🥰. It was such a good Mafia romance with some marriage-of-convenience and ennemies-to-lovers 🔥 I really liked the characters, was intrigued with the story setting, and I was entertained the whole story ❤️ Even though it was a little bit more spicier than what I normally read, I still really enjoyed the tension between both MCs 🥵 The story was easy to follow, a fast read and I loved the touch of suspense. I'm so ready for the next book in the serie. So, if you love dark Mafia romance, I think you could really like this one !
Absolutely loved this book the characters the story line and the passion . I knew who the traitor was and so glad Maeve and killian got him , would love to know more back story on Maeve and killian
I am always a sucker for a good spicy mafia romance. This delivered on everything. Sloane believes her sister forced her into this marriage out of spite and control but really it was to save her. Lex was the perfect person to show Sloane how to be loved. I’m very excited to see the other sisters and their stories especially the ruthless Ace.
BETA read. I was lucky enough to get the chance to beta read this and wow. I loved it. The chemistry between Sloane and Lex was off the charts and the tension between the two?! *chefs kiss* Both characters come from 2 different mob families and they come together through an arranged marriage. One that is not easily accepted by Sloane but for Lex it’s very much a “he falls first and he falls hard” which is fast becoming one of my favourite tropes. The relationship between the 2 becomes hot but complicated fast. There is tests of loyalty, fighting for power and you are never quite sure how it is going to end for them. The side character are a mixed bunch some of who you can’t quite tell if their intentions are good or there is something else going on that the author isn’t telling you. In all honestly Sloane took a little time to grow on me, I thought she was spoiled, immature and whines too much, however this is very much in keeping with her character arc and by the halfway point she was my favourite. Her growth throughout the book definitely helped me love her more and more. Lex has a horrid past as well as a horrid reputation but you quickly realise who he is behind all of this and I definitely have another new morally grey book boyfriend.
Overall I really loved this book and by the end I was so invested in their story I struggled to put the book down. It tugged on my heartstrings (so much so I cried a couple of times reading it) and will recommend it to anybody who listens when it is released.
This book was raw. Emotionally and physically it was violent and bloody. I loved it. I could relate to Sloane with her need to cure her numbness. Thankfully I don’t have the substance vices she had. Seeing her relationship with Lex develop was interesting, hot and very deeply emotional. Seeing the dichotomy of their childhoods and how her father was so violent while his family was accepting and didn’t treat women like property was fascinating and added to their depth as characters. I read the prequel novella before reading this and it really gave an insight into Maeve. 4.5/5 stars!!
After I've read the prequel, I knew I had to get the first book in the series, as well.
E.D. Crowe hasn't let me down so far. In fact, she has overstepped ( I hope I chose the right word here) my own - and I guess, hers - expectations.
The Mafia's Bride is set to keep you on edge with every chapter, every line and every event that takes place.
What I loved about the first book in The Women Of The Mafia series, was the development of the characters - especially the FMC-, the plot and how the story played out. I don't read too much mafia romance, but when I do, man, it better be good.
I loved how Sloane, the youngest of the O'Brian clan has turned from a party girl, into a ferocious woman, ready to set the world on fire, and this was all due to her being married off with someone she didn't want. Yep, arranged marriage and all that, the trope of our lives.
After many failed attempts, at making her husband want a divorce, she finally lets her guard down and accepts her fait.
Alessio, or Lex on the other hand doesn't have it in him to flip and let her go. He absolutely enjoys her antics, her determination to play with his nerves that it drives not just Sloane crazy, but also the reader. He actually falls in love with her,and is set to do everything in his power to make himself understood by the only woman he truly desires.
But, there are always things that aim to destroy his little bubble, after the O'Brien - De Luca association. Shipments go missing, his wife suddenly becomes a target and their whole world starts to crumble. But not for long.
This book is so amazing there is nothing more that I love in a mafia story then forced proximity and touch her and die. I absolutely enjoyed this book. And am so ready for the next one. The plot twist and the growth are just amazing!!!!! This is literally one of the best books I have read. I am amazed! It gives all the black gloves in the world. I would literally rate it as 100 black gloves. And the only one who can see them are his wife. The woman who all thought she was a drama queen acting up for attention well in a sense but she just wants what everyone around her has and that is love!!!!!!
