It’s the college basketball finals and someone’s killing the girls in the Bellair Landing apartment complex and leaving unusual calling cards – a mascot doll from the losing team. Laurel goes undercover to break the case but she finds more suspects than she can count and not enough clues. With an overprotective captain breathing down her neck and looking for any excuse to pull her from the case, Laurel doesn’t have time for a relationship. Just her luck, she ends up with not one, not two, but several suitors. Which one is the killer?

March Madness by Vicki M. Taylor tells the story of Laurel, a detective tasked with finding a serial killer who rapes his victims before strangling them. From all indicators, the serial killer is a basketball enthusiast, so she must go undercover as just a pretty girl who has a budding obsession for basketball. Little did she know that the serial killer was closer than she imagined.
One of my favorite things about this book is the word choice—it is both easy to understand and descriptive all at once, giving the reader complete satisfaction. The progression of the story is also wonderful as it gives the reader time to speculate on possible suspects. Also, the use of figures of speech and other literary devices made the book even more compelling. How can I forget how vivid the descriptions are? It’s almost as if I was watching it happen. For a book of this length, it certainly did a fine job of exploring different genres, as it had traces of romance in it.
I’d rate this book a solid 5 out of 5 because it was well written and properly edited. I’d recommend it to any lover of literature, especially those with busy schedules; this can be finished in one sitting.

I love a good thriller, but this one exceeded my expectations! The tension is perfectly balanced with unexpected romantic twists, making it impossible to put down. The killer's calling card—a mascot doll from the losing team—is such a chilling detail that adds a unique touch to the mystery. This book is a must-read if you love strong heroines and unpredictable plots!

A sexy, suspenseful novella that had me hooked from the start! Laurel is a fantastic protagonist smart, independent, and willing to take risks to solve the case. The murder mystery is cleverly plotted, with just enough twists to keep things unpredictable. The romantic subplots add another layer of intrigue, making you wonder who she can truly trust. If you love short, punchy thrillers, this one is a must-read

This novella packs a serious punch! It’s sexy, thrilling, and full of heart-racing moments. The romance adds depth without taking away from the mystery, and I loved how the author kept the stakes high throughout. The writing is sharp, the plot is unpredictable, and the final reveal is mind-blowing. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves fast-paced crime stories!

Just when I thought I had it all figured out, the story took another turn! The number of suspects made this mystery even more exciting, and the psychological aspect of the killer’s 'calling cards' added a creepy edge. Laurel is a fantastic lead; bold, sharp, and real. This is the kind of book you’ll be thinking about long after you finish!

Every chapter had me on edge! The mix of danger, romance, and college basketball culture made this novella stand out. Laurel’s struggles with an overprotective captain while juggling multiple suitors added even more tension to an already high-stakes case. The writing is smooth, the dialogue feels real, and the mystery is completely unpredictable!

Some books take time to build momentum, this one throws you straight into the action! The stakes are high, the tension is constant, and the twists keep coming. Laurel is a fantastic protagonist; tough yet vulnerable, determined yet real. By the time I reached the final chapters, my heart was racing. Highly recommended for anyone craving an intense, fast-paced mystery!
