Meet Alex, a vampire that lives by the code of “Justice for all.” She’s a detective, judge, and if need be, executioner. Alex has been a loner for decades, abandoned by a lover’s cowardice. Enter Kelly, a young detective that’s on the trail to taking down a major player of the crime syndicate that’s plagued Dallas. She’s beautiful and stubborn and has taken a liking to Alex, but Kelly is human. Will Alex ad Kelly be able to put aside their immortal differences to find love, or will Alex be fated to live an eternity of loneliness?
2.75 Stars. The insta love was so fast it gave me whiplash. This is a short story so I understand the need to make things happen quickly, but it was too fast to be believable. On a good note it was readable, not too many mistakes. I love vamps but the insta love was too much to overcome. Currently free on Kindle Unlimited.
Fast paced, insta-love, vampire story that had the potential to be pretty kickass if it wasn't for the glaring editing mistakes, or lack thereof. Another round of just simple proofreading and this could be a gem.
I liked the characters, I liked the premise, I respect what the author was trying to do with the story. It has a good foundation to build on. Maybe in the future the author will "maintain and polish" and expand some more. 3 stars.
This short story is silly and super fast paced. It had a good concept and probably would have received higher stars if it was maybe longer and not so fast paced. The grammar wasn't as horrendous as some books. Two or three sentences had some large gaps between the sentences. I burst out laughing with the misspelling of taut that was put as taunt; it made the sentence funny. The part with Kelly getting shot was great too, got shot, bounced off dumpster into her arms, right to the ambulance in the middle of a gun fight; hilarity ensued.
Honestly I found this to be a very cute love/vampire story. My only con is that I wish it was longer or that it was an ongoing series. I loved the detective crime solving aspect of the plot.
I loved this story. I wasn’t paying attention when I bought the book and didn’t realize the length. I was very disappointed when I discovered how short it was. I wanted the it keep going. Still, I loved the characters.
