Rate this book
He’ll risk everything to keep her safe.

Caitlin O’Reilly knows how dangerous the world can be—growing up as the daughter of a mobster doesn’t leave much room for innocence. When her boyfriend, the son of a rival mob boss, is murdered in her apartment, she is dragged into the dark depths of the world she’s tried so hard to avoid. The Italians are convinced Caitlin is responsible for the murder, and now she’s caught in the crosshairs of a brewing mob war.

Grady McCarthy, the O’Reilly family’s loyal second-in-command, is always Caitlin’s first call when she’s in trouble. But this time, Caitlin’s call sets off a desperate fight to keep her alive. Tasked with protecting her no matter what, Grady’s duty becomes something more, something personal and complicated. With enemies everywhere and the tension between rival families close to exploding, Grady knows helping Caitlin could risk everything he’s worked for in his life. But for Caitlin? He’d risk it all.

Forced to go on the run, Caitlin and Grady must confront old feuds, violent threats, and an undeniable attraction that neither of them can ignore. Facing deadly choices with trust in short supply, Caitlin and Grady have to decide if the stakes are too high or if they’re willing to put both their lives—and hearts—on the line.

Thank you to the author for allowing me to arc read this book before release. In my opinion, the main female character, Caitlin is too whinny but by true end of the book she grew up. The rest of the book? The action? All of it was great otherwise. The spice for age gap was new for me but it was spicy spicy! 8/10 rating.

Give me a mafia, forced proximity, age gap, dad's best friend story any day of the week and I will EAT IT! Grady is the older man of my dreams, he's a strong, protective, silver fox, with such a dirty mouth. Cait is just your normal college girl, i mean besides the fact that she is the daughter of the head of the Irish mob. She has a mostly normal life studying to be a lawyer with a boyfriend who SUCKSSSS. but he is also the son of another mob boss. Well he doesn't live for long he gets murdered in Cait's apartment and the murderer plans on framing Cait for the whole thing. She calls Grady her father's right hand and best friend to help her figure out what to do. They go into hiding and things between Grady and Cait get real spicy real fast. Grady has to keep Cait safe while also keeping her at a distance since they are not only 20 some years apart in age, she's also his best friends daughter. But their pull is too strong, they race against the clock to find out who is setting Cait up and why. Then they have to answer the questions that keeps them up at night... Are they meant to be? Will her father approve? Will they live long enough to tell each other how they really feel about each other?

I received an advanced reader copy of this book and let me tell you what, I am always a sucker for a good mafia story.

This story literally had everything I was looking for: An age gap that makes you go mmmmm, forced proximity, and dad's best friend all wrapped up with a pretty bow with the Irish mafia. I mean, most people are there eating it up with a spoon and I'm over here with a shovel.

Let me telll you....the images in my mind of Grady...wow! Thats one sexy man LOL While some people may think that the age gap is kind of cringy, I actually loved it. I feel like the age gap just enhanced the story line. Then the situation that they were thrust into only provided that little nudge that turns into a spark. This book had an adequate amount of spice without diminishing the storyline.

I mean for me it just doesn't get any better than a mob boss's daughter falling for his best friend. Author Mimi Francis writes these stories so well., I'm beginning to wonder she's a part of the mob. I was so sucked in that I literally finished this book in two days.

What a whirlwind of events for Caitlyn. She was just trying to live a life outside of hers father’s shadows but the family name would always tie her back to him. Framed for murder of her ex-boyfriend she is on the run with her father’s best friend who is the one who always comes when there is trouble.

The place they go to escape the true murders is compromised by someone within the O’Riley family which they did not learn until they have the person who pushed for the son of the New York mob be killed.

In the meantime they are fleeing for their lives on the run. While Grady tries to deny the feelings that he has had for Caitlyn for so long. She is the one who tells him how she feels and he said it can’t happen with the age difference, him being her father’s best friend and he is incapable of loving but is he really? They give into temptation with one another to get it out of their system but it doesn’t stop. Because Caitlyn is falling in love with him and he doesn’t want to bring those feelings back after he was once betrayed by a previous woman he loved.

The ending is that Caitlyn brings the man who plotted the murder on the morettis boy for her freedom. Mr. moretti tries to bargain to get her to marry his older son again and she declines since she is in love with another man. Her father then has the conversation with Grady to find all the things out that has been going on between his daughter and him and the truth with Oona. How he betrayed him and tried killing Sean all those years ago.

Caitlyn being the headstone women she is after everything she has endured plans to finish college and go into the family business and a crime lawyer and high makes her father so proud. And she goes to find Grady and let him know she is not willing to give up what they have.

This is book two in The Massachusetts Mafia series and it is Caitlin and Grady’s story. Caitlin’s father is in the Irish Mafia and she had tried really hard to avoid everything to do with her father’s business and lifestyle but when her boyfriend who is the son of a rival mob boss is murdered in her apartment and it had been set up for Caitlin to be the prime suspect she realised that she now needs help to prove her innocence before everything gets out of hand as she could lose her life in the process. Grady is second in command for Caitlin’s father and also his best friend who he would do anything for so when Caitlin is in trouble and needs to prove her innocence Grady steps forward to help because he knows that he would do anything and everything possible to keep her safe and protected regardless of the circumstances, situation or consequences involved. When Caitlin and Grady have to go on the run they will need to trust each other so that they can stay alive but with the enemies and threats closing in around them fast they will have to manage to stay alive long enough to face the growing attraction and chemistry between them and even though there is a big age gap and Grady is trying hard to keep his distance from her they can’t afford to get distracted and give in to how they feel because it could mean the difference between life or death. Wow the twists and turns along with danger, drama, suspense, large age gap, murder, action, close proximity, steamy, dirty talk, sass, grumpy, protectiveness and situations will have you turning the pages and unable to put this book down because it will keep your attention throughout. I can’t wait to read the next book in this action packed and addictive series.

Living under the title of Monster’s daughter doesn’t bode well for Caitlyn, so she moves away and hides her identity. But soon she discovers secrets about her boyfriend, who is then murdered in her apartment by a rival mafia group. Suddenly, Caitlyn is thrust back into the dark mafia world with a mafia group who believes she’s responsible for her boyfriend’s murder, and they won’t stop until they find her. But the one who’s in charge of protecting her, is the one person she’s not supposed to have.

Grady is her father’s best friend and number one guy. He has always been the one to swoop in and fix things when Caitlyn was in trouble. But suddenly, she’s not a little girl anymore, and the chemistry between them was scorching! Their banter and F it moment had me absolutely weak in the knees!

In the beginning, I didn’t feel connected to Caitlyn because she came across as a bit whiny and had air of entitlement. But through the story, you saw this inner strength start to show where she was able to keep her emotions in check no matter what was happening around her. But watching them both grow was my favorite! They challenged each other (and pushed many buttons) which brought out many qualities they didn’t know they had.

And Grady? He is the reason I love a good age gap! He was brooding, grumpy, but the way he protected her? 🫠

I devoured this book and it had me hooked from page one! The twists, chaos, and spice were perfection and kept me on the edge of my seat! I haven’t read the first one yet, but I couldn’t purchase it any quicker!

I appreciate the opportunity to have received an advance copy and my reviews are honest and voluntary.

This is my first book by Mimi Francis and I can definitely say she did not disappoint in her delivery! If you are looking for a suspenseful mafia romance, you landed on a goldmine! Forced proximity, age gap, dad’s best friend, daughter of the Irish mob boss, on the run, murder, madness, mystery - it has everything!

Caitlin seems to be a normal college girl studying to be a lawyer and a deadbeat boyfriend but the normalcy is shattered quickly! He is murdered in her apartment and she quickly figures out she’s being framed. Bobby wasn’t so on the up and up with his activities and now she has no idea where to turn or who to trust. She calls on the one man she’s always trusted - Grady - her dad’s best friend and right hand man.

Grady takes her on the run to the middle of nowhere and things turn spicy! Caitlin finally decides to bite the bullet and tell him how she feels and the emotional roller coaster gets twisty! Grady has to try to protect her but also keep her at a distance because he’s not a long term option for Cait in his mind. She wants to clear her name and she discovers life of being a part of a mafia family and what that could look like.

As they race against time, her dad and family become more involved and in the end Cait is the one to solve the mystery and put everything back into its right place. But the questions still linger on the future - Are they meant to be together? What will her father think? Do they really have a future together? Where does this leave them with the mafia?

The Mobster’s Daughter is suspenseful and a page turning mafia romance. This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading this book. The story is captivating from start to finish, entertaining and an enjoyable read. The Mobster’s Daughter is amazingly written, exceptionally balanced with action/romance and beautifully executed by Mimi Francis. She continues to showcase what a talented author she is with each book I’ve read by her thus far. She continues to create and write phenomenal romances that I absolutely love reading. I can hardly wait to see what her next book will be about. The Mobster’s Daughter follows the journey of Caitlin and Grady. The characters are fabulously and beautifully executed throughout the story. The chemistry between these two characters is undeniably irresistible to the point where neither one of them could no longer ignore the pull towards one another. I absolutely loved getting to know both Caitlin and Grady as well as witnessing their story come to life through the pages of this book. I absolutely love that they have a happy ending to their story with them being happy together as a couple. I would HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who is looking for a new mafia romance to read.

Buckle up, because it’s a wild ride. We’ve got an age gap (yikes for me, but kinda juicy to read about), forced proximity, dad’s best friend, and oh yeah… the Irish mafia.

Grady is straight-up drool-worthy, like the kind of man who makes you question your morals and your birth year. While the age gap gave me a little side-eye moment, it totally worked for the story. And honestly? The spice? It was there, it was hot, but it didn’t hijack the plot.

Now, getting cozy with the mob boss’s daughter when you’re his best friend? Bold move, Grady. Bold and probably very dumb. But hey, that’s what makes fiction fun — zero consequences and maximum drama.

Mimi Francis knows how to hook you and keep you flipping pages like your life depends on it. Overall? A fun, spicy, suspenseful read with all the tropes you didn’t know you needed until now. Would definitely recommend for a weekend binge

This book scratched an itch I didn't even know I had. Mobsters romance meets forbidden love with an age-gap.

Caitlin and Grady's story is a sweltering storm of denail, longing, and devastation. From the moment the appear on-page together they are pure electrifying chemistry. Caitlin's bratty, gung-ho attitude slams hard against Grady's jaded, all-business facade, and it's hard to tell who wins half the time. (Though, judging from the 🌶🌶🌶, maybe its safe to safe they both win.)

If you're looking for a spicy tale of conspiracy, gang wars, and a yearning-filled romance, give this one a read. You won't regret it.

Caitlin is the daughter of a mobster. Her boyfriend is caught up in some bad situations and they are starting to involve her. When her boyfriend is murdered, his family is convinced Caitlin has something to do with it and she needs to protect herself. She calls her father’s best friend and second-in-command, Grady.

Grady has always been there for Caitlin and her family. Grady soon becomes the one assigned to protect Caitlin no matter what. Caitlin has always been interested in Grady, but with him being much older and being her dad’s person, it is strictly forbidden. Little does Caitlin know that Grady has the same feelings.

I loved this book. There were so many twists and turns and unknowns. I cannot wait to read more from Mimi!

Book 2 of the Massachusetts Mafia series. Can be read as a standalone but why would you want to?!

'Facing deadly choices with trust in short supply, Caitlin and Grady have to decide if the stakes are too high or if they’re willing to put both their lives—and hearts—on the line.'

The characters carried the story and they were very appealing and complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and exciting and well paced. World building continues to excel and impress. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

Kick back and enjoy the read!.

Caitlin knew the perils of the criminal world as a mobsters daughter, butbwhen her bf and rival mafia boss son is murdered, she becomes the Italian mafias target and there's only one man she can turn to. Her fathers second in command Grady and this time the stakes are the highest they have ever been and Gradys going to make sure he protects her, even taking her on the run but will in close proximity draw something else out between them. Well written engaging steamy, desires, grumpy/sassy, action and more!.

Ugh…. save me from 25 years olds who act like a brat to get attention. But then again, her love interest is like 21 years older and essentially looks through her.

This was a little complex - our heroine is being framed for murder and our hero is trying to save her from being taken out by the enemy.
Cue going into hiding, forced proximity, smexy time, regrets and a whole ton of me rolling my eyes cos Mr Hero is self-sacrificing and being a d-bag about. Chuck in some history about an ex, and this is just full of drama.

Solid read, even if I think the characters are idiots….

This was a steamy read, he’s older, her dad’s best friend and second in command (Irish mafia), I’ve been reading quite a few combinations like that lately and all in all it was great. I felt that it dragged at times and not too many exciting things happened, but I still enjoyed it.

I’m not usually into third person POV, but it was well done and I could gather their feelings and thoughts anyway, which is usually my problem with that kind of writing.

If you like age gap, bratty FMC and grumpy older MMC, you should give this one a read!.

This is the second book in the Massachusetts Mafia series and is a standalone story. The book is well written. I was pulled into the story and could not wait to see how it ended. Caitlyn the Mafia Don's daughter and Grady his right-hand man should not be together. When Caitlyn is framed for the murder of her boyfriend she turns to Grady, the man she wants but cannot have, for help. This story follows their journey from fighting the attraction to love with a happy ever after ending.

I am so thankful that I got the chance to read this as an ARC. there were so many twists and turns and I definitely enjoyed reading this.

there was definitely some violence in this but it didn't take away from the storyline at all. in fact, i think it made me want to continue reading to see what's next. I didn't read the first one, but I definitely will at some point! this is an age gap romance but the story definitely didn't mention it too much.

Mobster’s Daughter is a dad’s best friend (aka right hand man), age gap romance. FMC Caitlin is framed for murder and MMC Grady steps in to help and protect her. Grady realizes Caitlin isn’t a little girl any more and tensions between them are high. Grady is moody and grumpy and protects Caitlin at all costs. Caitlin is honestly a whiny brat. Danger keeps coming for Caitlin no matter how many times she thinks things have calmed down. This book was good, not the best I’ve read, but not a bad way to pass the time.

Review of ARC- Thank you to the author for the ARC of this book!

I am not typically drawn to forbidden romance books, especially one with an age gap, however, I do feel that this book was tastefully done. The spice elements were well placed, but not the entire focus of the book. I appreciated the character development, but found myself wishing I knew more about Grady and Oona. I could read a book about that story entirely! I think the author did a great job of incorporating the age gap romance in a way that did not feel cheesy or uncomfortable, and the elements of explicit consent were much appreciated.

This is the second book in the Massachusetts Mafia series. It can be read as a standalone. This is my first book from this author and I did not feel lost not having read the first book. This book follows Caitlin and Grady. Caitlin’s father is the Don and Grady’s his second in command. Caitlin and Grady have wanted each other from a far. When Caitlin witnesses a murder and her life is in danger, Grady becomes her bodyguard. She fights him at every turn. This book is an easy read and fast paced.

I greatly enjoyed this book. It has an age gap, father’s best friend/employee, and enemies to lovers vibe going on. The FMC is smart, sassy, and trying to forget about the older man she wants. He is trying to support his best friend and boss by protecting his daughter. These two are on the run together and trying to stay alive. What can go wrong?!.

This book came in hot from page one and never let up. Grady is a dirty-talking silver fox with a protect-at-all-costs streak, and Cait? She’s the mob boss’s daughter caught in a deadly setup with nowhere to turn.

Murder, secrets, tension so thick it scorches, and yeah—they’re definitely not supposed to want each other. But when hiding out together turns into something more, all bets are off.

It’s forbidden. It’s filthy. It’s everything I want in a mafia romance.

Caitlin has a crush on her mafia dad’s best friend and right hand man. He’s older and dangerous.
The Mobster’s Daughter is action packed from the very beginning and there is never a dull moment. Every time I thought Caitlin was in the clear danger came after her again. There is some great suspense and I loved Caitlin’s growth by the end of the book. This one was fun and action packed.

Caitlin was too much. Why would any grown Mac be attracted to such an immature and whiny woman? It was a struggle to get through this because of her alone. Aside from that, the story was well written, and the story was great. It was intense and kept me turning the pages. The attraction between the two of them was definitely undeniable. The spice was so hot! 🥵🔥 I’m glad that towards the end Caitlin finally grew up. Overall a really good story.

It’s a tale as old as time: mob daughter, older bodyguard—but in my opinion, it’s done well here. The characters are solid, the tension is strong, and the story has a good build with a satisfying ending. If you enjoy darker mafia romances, this could be for you.
