Sweet and Salty make the best combo.

Life is simple and sweet and best enjoyed with twisted, buttery carbs. Or that’s what I tell myself when I relocate to quaint Honey Hill, Georgia and open up my very own pretzel bakery, Knotty & Nice. I may have been skeptical of my sister’s love for the wacky town, but its Southern charm and welcoming business owners completely steal my heart.

Then in strolls dreamy Jack Jones, a pretzel in one hand and a bouquet of flowers in the other, and my romance lovin’ heart runs wild. I’m convinced it’s love at first sight... until Jack acts as if he doesn’t know me the next day, leaving me to wonder if his charming, but strangely elusive nature might be more of a plot twist than I’m ready for.

My life feels like an overrated medical drama, but with far less moody music and zero questionable elevator liaisons. Some days, you’ll find me outgoing. On others, I stick to myself, my flower shop, and a trusted schedule—one that keeps me in control no matter what or who each day brings.

But when I meet my new neighbor, Dinah Knot, a huge part of me wants to throw that carefully constructed routine out the window. She’s stunning and warm, like daisies in sunshine, and illogically difficult to walk away from… until the confusion that's become my daily companion makes it difficult to decide if her strawberry blonde hair and sugary smile are irresistibly enticing or just too sweet for someone like me.

Yet, I can’t help wondering which version of me Dinah would choose.

I read this in one sitting, so that should tell you just how much I enjoyed it! This story is so unique that I can’t say too much without giving anything away. But here’s what I will share: Dinah owns Knotty & Nice, and Jack owns Petals. Their first encounter feels straight out of a romantic movie: a perfect meet-cute. That is, until reality kicks in, and everything that follows is far from that initial romantic moment. This is such a layered story, filled with a sweet romance. Jack is caught in a complicated situation and can’t imagine anything better for his future. That is, until he walks into Dinah’s shop, and everything changes from that point on. It’s not going to be easy; there will be many challenges, but their love story is absolutely worth the effort! This was a book I could not put down... the chemistry, the romance, the obstacles these two have to overcome, made this such an amazing read!

A few of my favorite moments:
- Chipper (aka the cat)
- Colored Converse shoes
- Their first meeting
- Jack’s first kiss with Dinah
- And so much more!
-The post-it notes

This is one of the most unique stories you’ll come across, you definitely don’t want to miss it!

I gave it 4.5 stars out of 5!

I received a complimentary copy, and this review is my honest opinion.

Goodwin just gets better and better. Her wit, pacing, banter, and swoon were top notch in this romantic rom-com. I ate it up faster than a hot, salty pretzel!
Lifetime fan here, and Goodwin is an auto-buy author for me.

I give this book 3.5⭐️ I want to start by saying the book itself was adorable and the vibes were great, right up my alley, Florist, baker, small town, adorable, love the idea. What brought it down FOR ME PERSONALLY was the way the MMC had split personalities. Although it was lighthearted as someone who holds D.I.D ( dissociative identity disorder otherwise known as split personalities or multiple personalities) very closely to my heart I feel like the understanding of the disorder is misunderstood or not researched enough it was misrepresented. Although not in the worst way it definitely just rubbed me the wrong way and took away from the story as it is a very real disorder that not many people understand it could have been executed better. Other than that I did enjoy the story it’s lighthearted and fun and sweet.

I don’t think you understand…I’m OBSESSED!! 🤩 The instant (and I mean the literal instant) I started reading this story, I was HOOKED! The characters are phenomenal and the writing is addictive, keeping you transfixed as the story plays out in the pages of this book. Trust me, everything but this story will cease to exist once you start reading, so make sure you have an empty schedule before jumping into Forget Me Knot!

Dinah Belle Knot, the pretzel queen, was in for a delightful surprise the night of the grand opening of her pretzel shop, Knotty & Nice. She got to meet “the gang”, courtesy of Charlie’s effervescent personality, and then through her door walked a brawny, dark-haired Ken doll and her life was forevermore altered (in a good way 🤭)

Jack Jones, or J. Jones as Dinah calls him, is a bit of a conundrum. Some days he’s grumpy, some days he’s nice, but always he has a thing for Dinah, the cute girl next door. Their relationship had me all in my feels while I was reading; it was pure perfection! Their chemistry was off the charts and I absolutely adored the way they cared for each other 🥹 I loved the way Jack and “Polly” bantered and the way Jackson was such a ray of sunshine in Dinah Belle’s life!

Like I mentioned earlier, the characters in this book were AMAZING 😍 Emory and Molly quickly wormed their way into my heart, rapidly followed by Charlie and the rest of the townspeople! The Cottens had me literally dying a time or two with their classic oversharing and canoodling 😂

Top Moments:
🥨 Charlie (need I say more 🤭)
💐 THE meet-cute 😍
🥨 Molly and the lucky donut panties
💐 Batting cages date
🥨 Delivering pretzel bites
💐 Chipper Jones
🥨 Making pretzels together
💐 Memories
🥨 The storage closet

Grumpy/sunshine, a complicated MMC, yummy pretzels, & a darling Southern small town romance! I loved Forget Me Knot! This is my first book by B.R. Goodwin & I can’t wait to read more! This story was such an original, delightful surprise with humor, swoony romance, poignant moments, & faith all mixed in.

Dinah Knot moves to her sister Emory’s small town Honey Hill, Georgia to open up a brand new pretzel shop Knotty & Nice, & to be close to her & her little niece. The town welcomes her with open arms including a hunky neighbor who owns the flower shop next door. It seems like love at first sight until she meets him again & the charming, friendly guy acts like he doesn’t know her.

As she gets to know Jack Jones, there’s a lot more to him than meets the eye. Who is this mystery of a man? It’ll take all her faith, ingenuity, & love to figure out the twisty pretzel that is Jack’s life.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! From the minute I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. Dinah is an absolute delight. Though she has her own sorrows, she only allows herself one down day. Then, she’s back to her cheerful, pretzel baking, genius self. I had my suspicions about Jack from the beginning, but was absolutely surprised how the author made his medical condition plausible & relatable. I’ve never read a romcom with this plot twist before & it made it all the more unique & enjoyable.

I also fell in love with the quirky, fun Honey Hill neighbors who like to share a little too much about their love lives & are in everyone’s business. They were adorable. I also loved Emory, Molly (Dinah’s niece) & a darling little kitten who steals the show.

All the mentions of delicious pretzels & various sauces had me desperately craving them. I also loved that Jack owns a flower shop & carefully arranges each bouquet. *sigh* This charming romcom definitely wove its way into my heart & I appreciated the subtle faith thread throughout.

Highly recommend! Looking forward to the next book in the series. I received an advanced copy from the author without expectation of a review, but also purchased in Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are completely my own & shared voluntarily.

CW: some innuendo & crude remarks. Kissing only.

5 Stars.

🥨 The vibes:
- She takes care of him
- Small town
- Found family
- Very unique
- Grief journey
- A cat 🐈
- Light faith elements
- Closed door

🥨 My thoughts:
Ok. I devoured this. Loved it. I’m not giving any recap or summary for this one, because I can’t fully get into the plot and what made this so unique- because it would be completely spoiler-filled. But I will say I loved so many elements here. The entire pretzel shop that Dinah owns was so adorable. Knotty & Nice?? STOP. I needed all of her food creations because they all sounded delicious. I enjoyed her backstory and her journey through grief.

💐 The complexities of Jack made this a story to remember. He’s a handsome florist (10/10), but he’s got an almost ominous presence that gave this story a mysterious thread. The way that Dinah took time to get to know Jack and had grace on a very complicated situation was so endearing to read. And then seeing Jack’s response to Dinah’s grace and understanding was everything. The way that Jack bloomed and grew while he found healing was one of my favorite parts of the story. Also there’s a cat in this book. Need I say more?

🥨 Overall, this story made me think a LOT. I’ve never read anything like this which says a lot because I’ve read a ton of romcoms. It’ll be one that will stick with me for a long time for sure.

💐 Jack and Dinah’s story is giving Severance in romcom form. I will give no context. No explanation. No spoilers. IYKYK.

🥨 Lastly- there’s light faith elements sprinkled in. I wouldn’t say it’s part of the plot nor a major theme in the book- but I always like to mention it.

💐 Read it and dm me all the thoughts as you go!

Note- closed door; light faith elements.

Eeekkkk I didn’t want to put it down!!! Jack and Dinah are the sweetest! This story had me laughing from page one, but also had so much depth and pulled on my heart strings just as much as it had me cackling. The perfect balance!!! I can’t wait to revisit Honey Hill.

This book is mind blowing. Not just because the writing is so so good, but because it has a unique plot and characters and handles so much so delicately.

I loved the characters and I loved how accepting and trusting Dinah was. She just loves with all her heart (usually that makes a girl weak but here it made her strong).

The book was sweet but had so many swoony moments, oof. If you are on the lookout for closed door romances, add this one to your list.

Kiss productivity goodbye when you sit down to read this one, because once you start reading, you absolutely will NOT be able to put it down until the final page (and even then, you're still going to want more). Right from their sweet meet cute, I was absolutely hooked on Jack and Dinah's story. I can't say too much without giving away spoilers, but this truly was one of the most unique storylines I have read in a long time and one that you're absolutely going to want to experience for yourself. There were so many laugh out loud moments (all the panty club talk... oh my goodness!!), but it also had those tender heartfelt moments too... both balanced so beautifully. Jack was certainly a complex character, but I loved seeing his heart throughout the story... and how Dinah loved every part of him just as he was. The relationships between his siblings and friends also added so much to the story... and I can't help but hope to see more of some of these characters in future books in the series. I have never read a B.R. Goodwin book that I didn't adore, but this one is most definitely a new favorite!

Forget Me Knot is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. There is some light Christian content as well (brief mentions of church, etc.).

This is a 5 star read for me! I couldn't help but keep turning the page! I obviously LOVED the romance in it, but I honestly kept turning the page to find out what happened with Jack/Jackson and how he navigated situations.
That's how you know it's good writing when you can take the romance out of it, and it's STILL an incredible story! Not gonna lie, this book had me straight up confused at first, but then it clicked, so just stick with it. Don't DNF it!
This is a very good book to recommend to someone who is just now getting into romance reading (it's not too mushy but still so adorable and again, it had other things going for it not just romance in my opinion).
🥨No spice
🌹No cussing
🥨Christian author, the book mentions God several times (which I LOVED)
🌹Strangers to lovers
🥨Adorable PINK pretzel shop
🌹Very grown-up characters, no immaturity (especially Dinah)
🥨No third act break up!
🌹Loved Dinah's outfits!
🥨She's a reader girly
🌹They read romance books aloud to each other (SHUT UP HOW CUTE IS THAT?!?!)
🥨THE NOTES 🥺
🌹THE MEET CUTE🤩
🥨Kind of Grumpy/Sunshine
🌹They take care of each other trope

Forget Me Knot is a read in one sitting kind of book because it draws you in and doesn't let go! This is a sweet romance that will make you laugh and cry. This story is like no other rom-com I have ever read and I am here for it! I loved all the characters and the older characters of the book had me laughing out loud..."Take her to the closet!"

Each chapter starts with a song title giving you an awesome playlist for the book. You may also want to have some soft pretzels on hand, because you will crave them while reading!

If you want a sweet romance with an original story and great humor, Forget Me Knot fits the bill!

I’ve enjoyed all of Brianna’s rom-coms, but something about this one had me hook, line, and sinker! Anytime I was reading it, I couldn’t put it down! Maybe it was because of the very unique relationship between Dinah and Jack. Maybe it was because of their irresistible chemistry that was so fun to read. Or maybe it was because I’m a sucker for soft pretzels 😂 Whatever the case may be, this book had me in its grip. I laughed and giggled out loud and just enjoyed every second of it!

This is Brianna’s first “crossover” type story, in that it isn’t expressly Christian fiction and more of a “clean read” type book. But there were still mentions of God and faith throughout, so it will still hold a lot of appeal for the Christian audience as well as a broader one.

If you need a laugh-out-loud romance that will have you feeling all the happy feels, RUN to Amazon to get this book! 🩷🥨

Decided I needed a romcom after all I’ve put myself through the past couple of days😆
Now I can’t say much because of spoilers, but this was pretty sweet. Made me laugh. And though I briefly thought about the “plot twist” of you will. I was still equally shocked when it proved to be true.
I read it in one sitting.! Now..my rating will be 3.5 just because it was over my comfort level. And there were a few things i disagreed with. But if you don’t mind romance with a bit of ‘sizzle’ then you’ll be good!😉😆😊

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It had a unique plot. I was a little unsure in the beginning because there were a couple things I didn’t find completely believable. But the second half especially won me over. It was emotional and some of the characters’ struggles were really relatable to me.

The descriptions of the various pretzel flavors practically made me drool! And I loved the cat.

While this is a spice-free romance, there’s one scene that I know some “clean” readers will take issue with. Message me if you want more details. There’s no bad language.

This is a pretty short book. It’s 215 pages and the book is smaller than the standard size. Which is fine, I actually liked it being shorter. Also, while the cover calls this a romantic comedy (and there were some parts I found amusing), I’d personally call it more of a contemporary romance. There were some sad moments and I unsurprisingly teared up one or two times.

It takes place in spring! Anyone looking for spring books should check this one out.

Most of my friends who’ve read this have loved it.

In the following paragraphs I’m going to share details of things I had issues with, and/or commentary I want to make, but they include SPOILERS. The one issue is really important to me, so I feel compelled to share. This is not meant to bash the author. But I recommend that those who read the book take the time to educate themselves on a certain topic that’s a major part of the story.

-----------------------------------------------------

The part before Dinah discovered that Jack and Jackson were the same person seemed pretty unbelievable. The thought wouldn’t immediately cross her mind that the names Jack and Jackson are suspiciously similar for twins? I was relieved to see it mentioned later that Dinah briefly thought about the strangeness of that. But we never saw her ask Jack(son) about his supposed twin brother having such a similar name. The convo on pg. 33-34 seemed especially strange. Charlie referred to the MMC as Jack and Jackson (as the same person) numerous times in one conversation, and then Dinah’s conclusion the next time she saw Jack(son) was that they were twin brothers? Am I missing something? I hate to get hung up on the details, but that’s a pretty important detail.

My biggest issue with this book was the way Jack(son)’s split personalities were handled. I was pretty disappointed that the author didn’t once use the proper term for the disorder (Dissociative Identity Disorder), especially for a book published in 2025. The term “split personalities” is stigmatizing and considered offensive by many. At a minimum, it’s an outdated term. I believe the author missed a major opportunity to educate while also providing an enjoyable read.

There are other things that bothered me with the way DID was handled (some are shared below). Like I said, I enjoyed the book otherwise. But when you portray a serious disorder like this, especially in something meant for entertainment, I think it’s important to be as accurate as possible, and just from my knowledge, I didn’t see that here.

Therapy wasn’t mentioned. There’s a brief mention towards the end that *maybe* cognitive therapy could be helpful... But he’d lived with this condition for three years and wasn’t seeing a psychologist? I’m not sure about cases caused by TBIs, but DID is otherwise treatable, and it makes no sense to me that Jack(son) going to therapy wasn’t mentioned at all in the book, especially when he had a pretty severe case of dissociation.

I was so disappointed to see a side character refer to Jack(son) as “Kooky Ken.” My heart sank when I read that. I’m not sure if Goodwin knows anyone personally with DID, but it’s not a joke, and it’s not cool to see a relative of someone with this disorder insulting or at a minimum making light of it, without major pushback. Even if it is just a character in a book. Of course I can’t speak for everyone; but I had a close friend with DID, and know several others who either have it or have a family member with it, and I can assure you they would not have found that comment amusing. It wasn’t even said in the presence of Jack(son) either. He was referred to as “Kooky Ken” to Dinah while he wasn’t present. I have personally dealt with DPDR, which is not at all the same, but IS on the spectrum of dissociative disorders; and all of these dissociative disorders still carry a heavy stigma. Using the term “kooky” even “jokingly” perpetuates that stigma.

-----------------------------------------------------

The next two points aren’t necessarily a criticism of the writing, just my personal thoughts and commentary.

From what I know (and I’m no expert, this is just based on my personal research and experiences), DID from a TBI would be pretty uncommon. I’m not saying the use of this plot device is bad just because it’s uncommon, but I think it’s good for people to be aware. The majority of DID cases are caused by non-physical trauma, especially childhood trauma (at least that’s the current research). Also, the severity of DID in the book is very far at the end of one spectrum. Just an FYI. And I am very skeptical that Jack(son) would only switch during his sleep. If someone else with more expertise wants to weigh in, please do.

While Jack(son)’s family was otherwise supportive, this part baffled me:
I was annoyed when Jack finally went to lunch with them after years (and brought a date), and his family sat around telling Dinah stories about his childhood. He was clearly uncomfortable. Like I said, I’m no expert in DID, but who does that? Even for someone without this disorder... to finally have a loved one come to lunch for the first time in forever, and then tell (embarrassing) stories from their childhood while a date is present? Were they trying to scare him away? Pretty sure this would be a big no-no for someone with DID, especially when the family was interacting with the alter who didn’t feel like he’s the “real” Jack(son). Maybe I’m wrong, but those are my thoughts on that scene.

-----------------------------------------------------

I know it looks like, from the amount I wrote, that I didn’t enjoy the book. I just wish the author had handled DID in a different way. It’s great to spread awareness. But as my suspicions seem to have been confirmed by the author’s note at the end, it appears this plot device was more for entertainment than anything. No author’s note about the disorder at all other than saying her husband randomly came up with the idea for a book. Of course, this is a book meant for entertainment. But for some, this disorder is a very difficult reality. I assume Goodwin had no malicious intent. I know she’s a Christian, and there were parts of this story that I do think were handled well. I’m open to reading more of her books in the future. And I would be very thankful if she were to ever edit this story to address some of the above concerns that I would think others might share with me. At a minimum, including the proper name somewhere, and ideally taking out the term “kooky.” If it weren’t for those things, this would probably be a four star book for me. As it stands, I'm giving it 3.25 stars. I don't want to round up on here because I want to make sure my concerns are seen.

This book still has me craving pretzels and it’s been at least two weeks since I finished! I laughed out loud so many times that my husband stopped asking what was going on. 😆 Goodwin’s use of words reminds me of a well choreographed dance that had me rereading lines because I enjoyed them so much! I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I’m so glad she has other books that I can read while I wait. Very talented wordsmith of Christian fiction. I enjoy everything I have read by B.R. Goodwin and look forward to many more stories written by her. 🥨🌼🐱

Thank you for allowing me to read this advance reader’s copy of this book, B.R. Goodwin! It’s been absolute joy to read this!

Forget Me Knot is a dual POV Rom-com about Dinah, a pretzel 🥨 shop owner who recently relocated to be closer to her sister, and Jack, her small-town neighbor who owns a flower 🌼 shop. The two meet and have instant chemistry, but there's so much more to their story that I can't share without spoiling it.

I know that's not much to go on, but trust me, you want to, actually you NEED to read this book! It's such a unique and fun story.

First of all, the writing is incredible. The descriptions throughout the book are so well done and had me laughing practically the entire time. This book is seriously hilarious, it was love at first page for me. I even made a note on page 19 that I needed to find more books by this author ASAP! The songs that were added to the chapter headers were such a fun touch, and I found myself listening to them before getting into each section.

This story was hysterical, heartwarming, lighthearted, yet also serious at times. Everything just fit together so well. I loved it so much that I wish I could forget everything about it just so I can experience it for the first time again!

If you enjoy romantic comedies with a unique storyline, and you don't mind snorting with laughter constantly then I definitely recommend this book!

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐⭐ ⭐ 6/5 stars!

I almost feel wrong rating this book because it feels a little bit like I’m rating what I think about someone with Jack’s struggles finding romance. However, that’s not the case, I enjoyed this story and give full props for tackling an issue like this in a romance. I have never seen someone write a novel like this because it can a little bit of an uncomfortable concept. Overall, I knocked a star off because the writing felt a little clunky at parts and I always find it detracts from story when an author is trying to be relatable and they use internet slang, but that’s a personal gripe. Overall, I loved Jack and Dinah’s story!

Love this book! I went in thinking I understood the premise but I was surprised at the turns it took!! I don’t think I’ve ever read a closed door romance personally that had the FMC/MMC work through the issues Jack + Dinah faced… definitely unique!! Such a sweet story and definitely worth the read!

3.5 stars.

I enjoyed this book. I found myself really struggling to connect with the book for about 50% of it. I’m not sure what it was, but I think I was experiencing some confusion while reading. I think at about 50% I was able to connect with the characters because I was able to understand it a bit more. I will say that by chapter 15 I was hooked and wanted to know the ending. The book is only 20 chapters, so I can’t give this book a great review based on how long it took me personally.

I did really love the end and the mini epilogue that was included. It helped pull this whole book together.

Main Tropes:
🥨 florist MMC
⚾️ baseball season
🥨 pretzel shop owner FMC
⚾️ a “curveball” or a “twist” in the plot
🥨 found family
⚾️ sizzling kisses
🥨 closed door (waiting for marriage)

This story was so cute! I loved the fun humor that I've come to expect from this author's romcoms. It perfectly balanced the deeper topics in the story. While instalove is not my favorite (because come on, where's the anticipation?), this story gave it a twist that had me flipping pages. With an MMC that is all charming and suave one day but a complete grump the next, it had me begging to know more. Dinah was so fun with her mood shoes, loud music, and brightly colored pretzel shop. (Be warned her pretzels will have you salivating for one of your own.) The way she cared for Jack and saw his needs was the sweetest. I loved the amount of family in this book. Dinah's niece was adorable, Jack's siblings and parents were delightful, and getting to see some of the Remillards again was a blast. All these side characters made this book feel vibrant and realistic. Readers of fun, small-town romance with depth will not want to miss this one. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

This was such a cute small-town Southern romance—with the added bonus of being clean! While the story touches on heavier topics, it doesn’t take away from the romance. And now, I want a pretzel. 🥨 ETA: HOW COULD I FORGET? I loved The Office references!

B. R. Goodwin does it again!! Every book of hers I love just as much as the last. This book was so sweet and savory I craved delicious pretzels the whole time! The story line was something I did not see coming and was pure gold! Plus an adorable kitten that absolutely steals the show! What more could you want?? Did I mention she also perfectly aligns a playlist with a song in each chapter. Absolute chefs kiss 🤌🏻, can’t wait to see what she creates next!!

This book! I loved the unique-ness of it. I had the pleasure of Beta reading it and couldn’t stop thinking about it! Got the arc, and still love it as much as I did the first time! Among the things I loved about it:

the various “Ken” versions!
the relationships Jack has with his friends and his brother
the “panty club” Dinah has with her niece - oh my gosh, such a fun and hilarious addition!
Dinah’s relationship with her sister
the communication
Chipper and his clothes
Dinah’s voice; so funny!
the ending 🥰

And if you’re a fan of The Office there are some fun references!

This book did not take me long to read because I wanted to keep going!

This was my first book by this author and I absolutely adored it. Forget Me knot offers a unique story about Dinah and Jack, two small town business owners. Jack meets Dinah and they immediately hit it off. Until their second meeting that leaves Dinah more than confused about Jacks feelings.

This is one heartwarming story that will have you cheering on the main characters. It was refreshing to read such great story with faith elements mixed in. Dinah is one of my favorite characters. Even though she has gone through some heavy things in her past she is still upbeat and finds the best in every situation. She’s the perfect person to compliment Jack and help him through his struggles.

Release date 4/2

Jack + Dinah
This is my second time reading this one and I’m not at all surprised that B.R. Goodwin can go from writing a mind blowing dystopian series to this amazing rom com. I LOVED this unique story!! I am excited that this will be a series. Jack has MANY layers and I am HERE FOR IT. I love a mystery man with all the depth. Dinah is so fun! Even matching her shoes to her moods each day. This book made me laugh and smile so much! There were also tender moments when I felt for Jack & everything he was going through. I wanted to give that man a big hug!
I highly recommend getting this one whenever it releases!

Warning: Do not read this book while hungry.
