Thank you so much Matthew Climpson for a copy of this book! After reading volume one and loving it, I knew I could use this one to give me that extra little reading boost.
It is so clear in Climpson's novels that he loves his work and has done an incredible amount of research, which really translates into his books. Every story is short but interesting, and full of detail. The organisation of his work is also very important as every death is in chronological order (maybe it's just my autistic brain but I love this detail!) and there are little additions to some of the stories with a 'Did you know?' section. In this volume the end section 'Morbid trivia' has been switched out with 'Famous last words' section, which I found really interesting and is a great ending to the book.
Overall this is such a great true crime book with historical aspects, a lovely writing style and just the right amount of stories to keep you engaged while not dragging on. It's safe to say Climpson is slowly becoming a favourite author of mine!
Happy reading lovelies x
