Interesting to note the political rollercoaster during that time, how the debate over religious freedom and expression imprisoned Bunyan, and how his imprisonment gave him time and space without distractions to write, specifically Pilgrim's Progress.
My 7th-8th grade class will be reading The Pilgrim's Progress this year. I read this book to get background on John Bunyan to share with the students. This was an easy and quick read, and it met my expectations. I am looking forward to sharing Bunyan's background with the class.
I found the book challenging as a Christian, what am I doing, when there's a man that would go to prison because he stood up and preached, and even in Prison he still preached, and yes he wrote Pilgrim's Progress while he was in prison
